Mei's pov.

"HURRY UP!!" I blanched as Rea ran into the hideout. She made the hand signs and slammed her hand on the rock, causing it to shake and lift itself. Rea darted inside, with me following closely behind.

I could hear the usual fighting coming from the living room. I'm almost positive that its Hidan and Deidara again.

The blonde running through the halls and hiding behind me proved my suspicions. "What did you do this time?" I raised an eyebrow, but kept walking as the blonde clung to me.

"I just hid some clay in Hidan's room, un." I rolled my eyes.

"Rea should be looking for you by now. I'm going to report to Leader-sama." I slapped Deidara's hand away from my arm. "Keep an eye on her for me."

"Will do, un!" Deidara disappeared down one of the halls looking for a certain spaz. With a sigh I approached Leader-sama's office and slipped my cloak off, knocking my fist against the door.

"Come in." I opened the door and stepped inside, hanging my cloak over my arm as I toed the door shut. "Mei, your back early. Where is Rea?"

"She's having a moment with Deidara." I replied softly. "The mission, as usual was a complete success."

"Good. I was hoping to hear that." Leader-sama sighed. "I have a private mission for you." I frowned a bit.

"What kind of mission?" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"I've received news that Orochimaru is heading to the Leaf village for a new vessel." I narrowed my eyes. "I want you to go to the leaf and join him. This is an infiltration and watch mission. Keep an eye on Orochimaru and make sure he doesn't step out of line. If he does, then take care of him."

"Of course." I sighed. "Is Rea going with me?"

"No, Rea will be staying here since you need to infiltrate the Leaf." I nodded once.

"Understood. I'll leave immediately." I bowed and turned to leave.

"And Mei. Don't let Orochimaru know that your feeding us information." I nodded and left the office, closing the door behind me.

I huffed out a breath and started down the halls to the living room. "REA!" I shouted the girls name only to turn a corner and stop. There she was pinned against the wall, having a make-out session with Deidara. "Uh..." I frowned, suddenly missing my partner.

"Mnph!" Rea pushed Deidara off her and turned beat red. "Y-Yes, Mei?"

"I'm heading out on a solo mission. I won't be back for awhile so keep an eye out for one of my summonings." I stated. Rea blinked and suddenly jumped on me, squishing me as she hugged me tight.

"WAAAHHHH! DONT LEAVE ME MEI-CHAN!!!" I groaned and slightly wrapped my arms around the over emotional girl.

"Don't worry, Rea. I'll be back. And beside.." I leaned closer to her ear, whispering. "Deidara looks pretty upset you were *ahem* interrupted." I pulled back and smirked at the tomato girl.

Rea didn't say anything, she only, somehow, turned even redder when Deidara pulled her into his arms, nuzzling his face in the crook of her neck.

"I better get my bag and head out. I'll send Ayame when I'm settled." I smirked when Rea squeaked. "And please take it to your room, you two." Deidara grinned and suddenly scooped Rea up, and started toward their room. They started sharing a room 2 years ago when Rea couldn't sleep alone. They make quite the cute couple.

I turned, opening the door to my room and going inside. I slipped my mission bag over my shoulder and let it hang. Its a black dufel bag filled with nothing but weapons.

I already said my goodbye to Rea, so I didn't bother bother with anyone else as I left the hideout.

This should be interesting. Orochimaru will be more Than happy to see me, I'm sure. He's had his eye on me for quite awhile.

Konohagakure The Village Hidden in the Leaves

I bound up one side of the wall connected to the gate. They've really downed on security. How pathetic.

Once I reached the top of the wall I took off toward the Forest of Death. Itachi had informed me that that is where they will be, if not on their way there. I easily snuck inside and raised an eyebrow at the lack of bodies.

"Its so different now.. with the wars being stopped by treaties." I whispered to myself as I started my search for Kabuto or Orochimaru. Heading for the tower in the center, I spotted the familiar white haired boy fighting mist nin. I perched myself on a branch and sighed, watching the pathetic battle between Kabuto, three Leaf children and three experience Mist Genin.

I won't interfere. Yet. The corner of my lips tugged into a smirk.

All to soon though, I grew tired of watching and gathered chakra into my right hand, adding lightning. I flung my hand and the chakra/lightning, turning into senbon and struck the three mist Genin.

"That was pathetic." I narrowed my eyes and dropped from the branch, making my way to the mist Genin, very aware that I was being watched.

"Who..?" I turned my head sharply, my still narrowed eyes landing on the blonde boy. "Huh?!" I stepped toward him, cornering him against a tree.

"Teaming with such worthless children, Kabuto? You've changed." I pursed my lips, trailing the tip of my index finger down the blondes cheek. "However, this one looks absolutely delicious." I could feel the chakra of the Nine-tails. So this is the container he chose. Interesting.

"That's enough." Kabuto snapped, dragging my attention from the blonde boy. "Leave Naruto alone."

"But, Kabuto~…" I pouted. Kabuto frowned. "Fine." Turning to Naruto, I let myself smile a bit, my eyes becoming half lidded. "We will continue this later, my dear." With a soft press of my finger to his lips, I sighed.

"What are you doing here?" Kabuto asked bluntly.

"Nothing really. Just seeing old friends." Kabuto narrowed his eyes. "Now, I must be going. There's someone waiting for me." With those words, I let my body disappear in a tornado of rose petals.

I can tell I'll have fun with this.
