The Kiss (Reprise)

I texted everyone that I was leaving, I told my parents Greg and I were going on a walk. He obviously needed to clear his head.

"That felt so frickin good though." He crowed. "I've wanted to yell at them like that for years."

"I admit that was a pretty amazing speech." I nodded.

He grinned. "I can't believe I'm finally free from all that toxicity."

"I glad too."

We walked away from the school, down the street. Away from the world, away from life's problems. We were just about to walk off the school grounds when Greg grabbed my shoulder.

"Is that...Lucy?" He blinked, pointing behind a corner.

I looked over to where he was pointing as saw Lucy laughing and talking to Maria. All of a sudden Maria stretched up on her tipy-toes and kissed Lucy. On the mouth, like lovers.

I spotted the tell-tale glow from both of their hearts.

"Lucy?" Greg questioned, stunned.

The two broke apart immediately. Lucy was breathless and blushing, she paled at the sight of Greg. Greg however, was having a very different reaction, he was grinning from ear to ear.

Maria threw up a peace sign at me. "Sup Micah."

"I can explain." Lucy started. "Please don't get mad."

Greg clapped his hands to his face. "Get mad? Why on earth would I get mad?"

She blushed and laughed nervously. "I don't know. I figured you might...use this as blackmail."

"To which I would have to beat you up because that's not okay." Maria leaned against the wall.

Greg was still smiling. "Why on earth would I want to it anyone through that? Sure you were a grade A jerk, but this? This changes everything."

"You're okay that I'm gay?" She squeaked.

"Of course, Lucy, I'm gay."

"This explains a few things." I blinked.

"Yeah when I told you my soulmate was a boy, I lied." Maria shrugged. "Of course I would have just come out right and then and there if you have just told us in the first place about your boyfriend."

"You're so weird." I shook my head at her.

"Thanks."

"You won't tell mom and dad right? I think this would finally break them." Lucy begged.

"Of course I won't." Greg scoffed. "And if you ever need any help, Micah and I will be there."

"You bet." I nodded.

Lucy smiled, earnestly, in my few short moments with her, I had never seen a smile more genuine. "Thank you, God I'm gonna cry."

"I can't believe this." Greg mused.

"I couldn't either at first. It took a while to warm up to her. It's completely changed my perspective about everything." Lucy smiled.

She hesitated, then scooped Greg up in her arms and hugged him tight. "I realized how close I came to losing my little brother."

Greg's eyes widened in shock, he was frozen for a minutes before he returned the hug. Lucy eventually stepped away.

"Can your forgive me Greg?" She questioned.

I didn't realize I was holding my breath until Greg wiped his eyes with one of his sleeves.

"Look what you m-made me do now!" He stammered happily.

Lucy laughed gently too. "You have no idea how sorry I am though."

"I wasn't going to." Greg admitted. "I wasn't going to forgive any of you."

Lucy bit her lip.

"But I'm honestly touched." He breathed. "You can still call me if you want."

She grinned and hugged him one more time. He reciprocated it with less zeal this time.

"Aw, you guys." Maria sighed. "I'm so glad you're making up, I really wanted to invite Micah to our wedding."

I blinked rapidly, blushing slightly. "Y-you did?"

I hadn't even started to think about marriage yet, Greg glanced at me and I could tell he was thinking that same thing.

"Yeah. We're making bets on who can dance the lousiest, and my moneys on you." Maria smirked.

"Yeah but once you're a famous broadway star, someone's gonna teach you how to dance." Lucy rolled eyes at me.

Honestly I was still stuck at the marriage part. "Ha, you guys are hilarious."

Lucy's phone buzzed, and she frowned upon reading it. "I gotta go. They're wondering where I ran off too. I'll see you later, babe."

"Bye buttercup." Maria waved as she walked off.

We stared are her.

"If that nickname somehow get's back to Alex is I'll personally end you all." Maria warned, waltzing off back to the after-play party.

Greg was still grinning.
