•Kaila's POV•
After breakfast, we waited outside of the chapel area for morning session.
"So, when do you think the boys will show up?" Amber asked, looking around a little.
I looked too, and I saw them rushing across the street. "Sooner than you think."
She looked in the direction I was and turned again to me. "Hunter is looking good today."
I friendly slapped her arm. "Hey, check out your own man!"
We laughed as they approached nearer.
"Good morning ladies." Hunter greeted us. "How is my love this morning?"
I smiled widely. "I'm just wonderful, happy to be here, and with my favorite people."
"Come on, don't lie to yourself, you're really here cuz of me." Hunter winked.
Amber gasped and hit his arm. "I'm right here!"
"Um, so is Jesus." I said.
"Geez! I know! I was just joking." He glared at Amber. "And you didn't have to hit me."
"Yes, I did. When do I have an excuse not to?"
He opened his mouth to say something and quickly closes it. "Alright, you got me."
She smiled, accomplished. "So, how did you guys sleep last night?"
"Awful," Alex replied. "I couldn't get comfortable, and I'm pretty sure there was someone snoring," He glared at Hunter.
"It wasn't me, I swear!"
"It better not have been! When we get married, and I find out you snore, I'm sending you straight to the couch." I remarked jokingly.
"Baaaabbbeeee." Hunter said smiling.
"What?"
"You said 'when'."
My face turned beat red. Had I really said that out loud. What if it so happened that Hunter and I didn't get married, or if somehow one of us died. "I did?" I chuckled nervously. "Well, I, uh, 'scuse me for a minute."
I removed myself from that area to find some of the other girls in our cabin.
"Kaila. . . wait!" Hunter tried to call after me. Luckily he didn't follow.
Why did I have to be so awkward around them, and why now? Everything in my mind about our relationship is perfect, and everything I've ever wanted it to be. So, why was I so embarrassed when I said 'when we get married'?

After our first morning chapel, we went to games. We played floor hockey and dodgeball, which I barely remember playing in earlier years, but it was still fun.
The guys on my team were super aggressive during floor hockey. Apparently, it had happened to appear that Edge had played hockey a few years in his life, so he was on offense the entirety of when he played.
"Alright Edge! Let's go!" Karsen cheered.
We all cheered too, but not as hard as he did. Then Beckett didn't feel like playing anymore after the other team got a goal, so he switched out a player.
"I'll play!" I piped up, taking a hockey stick in my hands. I stood and walked quickly onto the playing field.
"Hey," Edge greeted as this round was getting started. "Do you know how to play?"
"Hm, yes. Get the puck into the other goal. Simple."
He laughed. "Yeah, basically."
The game counselor tweeted his whistle, and everyone went for the puck. Back and forth and back and forth it went. I caught sight of it and went for it. A girl from the other team noticed I saw it, and went after me.
I squealed a little bit, because she came after me quite fast. I quickly snatched the puck away from her.
"Over here!" Edge yelled, wanting me to pass it to him. I then saw that Teagan was open and ready for someone to pass it to her.
I then passed it to her, and she caught glimpse of it, startled.
"Teag! Over here!" Edge called again. Without really knowing what to do, she passed it to him. With one swift pass, and pushed it into the goal, scoring us a point.
"Yes, Team Three!" Karsen cheered, clapping his hands.
Edge glared at me from where he was and then walked towards me. "Why didn't you pass it to me?"
"Um, one, because you've been playing the entire time, and barely letting anyone else play, and two, Teagan was ready and open."
"I was obviously ready too. And I've been playing hockey my entire life, so I know how it works." He began to raise his voice at me.
That was enough out of him. "Look, Edge. I understand that you have experience, but competing in games is not all about winning. We are all here to have fun. This is not going to determine your future in any sort of way. So, I suggest taking a step back and include others also."
He looked stunned. I turned back to my teammates, and they all looked dumbfounded. I had done my part. I wasn't about to let him pass me up. No, I wasn't above him, but he needed to learn his place at camp.
After games, I felt fired up. I saw Amber and Asia in the distance, deciding that talking to them would do me some good.
"Hey guys." I said, approaching them.
"Woah, what's up with you?" Amber said, instantly. I then noticed the way that I said that greeting, was a little more aggressive than I would've liked.
I sighed. "Sorry. Some guy on my team was being a selfish hog during floor hockey."
"Oh no," She pinched the bridge of her nose under her glasses. "You didn't yell at him did you?" I smiled guiltily and shrugged. "Kaila Mae!"
"Amber, chill! I only put him in his place, he needed to give the spotlight to someone else once and a while. He basically was showing off everything, because he plays hockey. Yeah, I understand he's good at it but still! Be a team player, man!"
Amber placed her hands on my shoulders. "Did you ever consider that maybe he was forced to come to this camp? And maybe he found something that he loved, and because he didn't know anything here, he thought 'yay! something I'll be good at something'?"
She was right. I had acted very selfish, maybe. But Teagan did look like she enjoyed being in the spotlight for a quick second.
I nodded. "Yeah, you're right. I should apologize."
"Thank you."
"Wow, that sounded like a bit of drama right there." Asia, who I had forgotten was standing there, laughed.
I sighed and smiled. I looked around the area and saw Hunter and Alex walking towards us. I groaned and threw my head back so I was looking at the sky.
"Should I leave?" Asia asked quietly.
"No, you're fine. I was just leaving to go back to the cabin." I said, starting to walk away. But before I could, I heard his voice.
"Lah?" Hunter said in the kindest voice. I stopped dead in my tracks and looked over at him. "I just came over to say hi. Are you going already?"
I sighed. I didn't want to, but I felt so awkward around him right now.
"Why are you leaving then?" He asked. My cheeks burned when I realized I'd said that out loud. "Kaila, I don't understand why that was so awkward, I thought it was really cute. You thinking about our future like that." He was now facing me, I didn't dare look him in the eyes. "Look, don't feel bad. The future is really scary, I know that, but for now, we can look at is as a when, instead of an if."
I nodded. "I'm just scared. More scared to lose you."
He moved a little closer. "You'll never lose me." He smiled. "God put you in my life, and that's the only way you're going out."
