The following day Lucinda was excited because she was going on a date with Ty. At least in her mind, it was a date. So she was most definitely going to get dolled up. But before she got started, she decided to text Ty,

Lucinda: Good Morning, baby
What time do you want to go to the movies?"

It seemed like it took forever for him to reply. That she was about to resend the message, but she didn't get a chance to because he finally replied.

  Ty: You're the one taking me on a date to celebrate. It's your call."

Lucida: It took you long enough.Wait!Did you just call us " hanging" out a date?"

After a long (exaggeration)pause, he texted back.

Ty:  Yeah, should I rent a tux?"
Lucinda: " Boy, you play too much. Let's leave around noon."
Ty: Okay, I can't wait to see what you have planned."
Lucinda: " I'm going to bedazzle you, lol."

Ty arrived at Lucinda's house at 11:45 am. He waited patiently for her in the living room.
When she descended the stairs, he wasn't prepared for what he saw.
She looked amazing. Her outfit was flawless, and it fit her perfectly. She wore a lovely red blouse and a jean skirt. What she had on may have been simple to some, but not him. In his eyes, she looked like a movie star.

"Lucinda, you look beautiful."

" Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself. Nice tux, by the way, lol!" You look very handsome, and I think I love you, is what she really wanted to say.

Lucinda's mom drove them to the movies because they both wouldn't get their permit until next year. The restaurant was near the movie theater as well.
Her mom told her to call her when they were finished celebrating.
The movie she chose was a chic flick indeed. It was a romance movie. It was a story about a nerdy girl who had to tutor the most popular boy in school. He was the star basketball player. At first, they didn't get along, they became the best of friends, and by the end of the movie, they were madly in love.
Lucinda was sitting next to Ty, crying her eyes out. Ty just hugged her; this happens every time she watches a " girly" movie.

" Cinda, are you okay?" He stated in a concerned tone.

" Yes, It was just so romantic. You know I'm a sucker for romantic movies. I hope one day a guy can love me like that."

You already have a guy that loves you like that. Ty thought to himself. If she keeps this up, he will ask her to be his girlfriend right there in the movie theater.

" Cinda, you are a wonderful girl; any guy would be lucky to have you in their lives."

I don't want "any" guy; I want you. Lucinda thought to herself.

" You have to say that because you're my bestie, come on, let's go eat; the movie is over."

The restaurant that Cinda chose was immaculate and spotless. And the decor was amazing. Who would have thought that two teens could afford such a fancy place? Cinda didn't care because she wanted to show Ty how special he was to her. She already called the restaurant in advance, telling them not to take her party's cash. Cinda excused herself and reminded the waitress not to take Ty's money.
The waitress walked over and asked if they were ready to order.

" Yes, I would like your seafood special with your special sauce," Cinda stated quietly.

" And I'll have a medium-rare steak and a loaded baked potato," Ty said while his stomach was growling.

" Can I get you all anything to drink?"The waitress stated in a cheerful tone.

" We'll both have a coke and two glasses of water. That will be all. Thank you very much".
Ty said, eager to eat.

The food finally came, and it was delicious. All through the meal, Ty thought about asking Cinda to be his girlfriend. But he would, but he would be devastated if she didn't feel the same way.

Then all of a sudden, Cinda blurted out,
" Ty, will you be my boyfriend?"

Ty was so shocked that he nearly spit his food out. It was like she was reading his mind.

" Hello, did you hear me, Ty? It's ok; maybe you don't feel the same way about me. Can we still be besties, though?" Lucinda was rambling; she starts to ramble when she gets nervous.

Ty silenced her with a " Yes! I've been waiting to be your boyfriend for a long time. I love you, girl."

" For real? You want to be my boyfriend?"Ty nodded his head yes. Lucinda was so happy that she started to cry.

" Cinda, don't cry; you know I hate to see you cry."He stated in a loving tone.

" Ty, these are happy tears. You just made me the happiest girl in the hood."

" Guess what, Cinda?"

" What?" She stated in an affectionate tone.

" Did you know that you are a mind reader? I was thinking about asking you out all night, but you asked me first. I was going to wait until we started high school. But after we watched that movie, it made me want to ask you sooner."

" I beat you to the punch."She stated in a loving tone.

At that moment, Ty got up from his seat and extended his hand for her to get up as well; he put both hands on her cheeks and leaned forward, and kissed her senseless right there in the restaurant. She felt butterflies and fireworks immediately. They had a small audience, but Ty could care less.

" Wow! Where did you learn how to do that?
You are a good kisser." She stated breathlessly.

" Thank you, baby. I've been waiting to do that for a long time."

When he finished saying that, he excused himself and went to the restroom. Lucinda
went and the bill and called her mother.
