Chapter Thirteen

Ty finally arrived at the summer football camp.
He was still in mourning over his cousin's death, but he had his parents and Cinda there for moral support. The first couple of days he practiced, he was there physically, but his mind wasn't. It seemed as though his body was taken over by someone else. He was just going through the motions. His  family noticed his demeanor; they knew he wasn't giving his " A."
Game. His dad finally spoke up and said, " Son, I know you are still hurting; we all are. JayJay was one of your biggest fans. He believed in you and your dream. Son, you have been given the opportunity that most youngsters in our neighborhood never got. Your faith, drive, good grades, your football skills, and determination, and me, of course, lol! It's what put you in this position. Now, son, go out there and make your dreams come true."

" Thanks, dad. I needed that. I don't know how I would have been able to get through this without you moma and Cinda. I'm good now; we didn't come all this way for nothing."

Ty was true to his word. From that day forward, he practiced and played with a new passion and drive. The coaches and camp staff couldn't believe what they saw. They saw a young and gifted athlete who could most definitely be headed for the NFL. Ty told his parents and Cinda that it would best if they went back home, and they did just that. They knew that
Ty would be okay. As the days went by, Ty continued to grow and excel. The entire staff constantly praised him, but he never let it go to his head; he remained humble and grateful.
Ty learned new aspects of the game that he was never taught before.
After a long day of practice, he decided to face-timed Cinda ( he called or texted her every other day, he couldn't handle seeing her face every day).
She answered him on the second ring,
" Hey Ty, I miss you, baby. Do you miss me? She said in a teasing tone.

" Of course I miss you, baby. You look, beautiful baby. I can't wait to hold you in my arms. I love you, girl." He stated in a deep and loving tone.

" I love you too. And I can't wait until you come home. I miss you like crazy. You look
handsome baby.

" Thanks, baby; I know I look all sweaty and worn out." He said with a smirk.

" You may be sweaty and look a little tired,
you still look handsome to me."

"Do you want me to leave the camp early?"

" No, why would you ask me a trick question?"

" Trick question?"

" I always want you with me, baby. But I am not a dream crusher; I'm a dream supporter."

" Cinda, I've been in love with you for years, but your support and the way you love me made me fall in love with you more." He said in a passionate tone.

" I love you too." She stated in a loving tone.
They laughed and talked for about two hours.
They said their goodbyes and got off the phone.

Ty had one more week left; although he was having a good time learning new things,
he was homesick. He couldn't wait to get home
to his family and friends.
On the last day of summer camp, Ty bid the coaches, staff, and his new friends goodbye.
