Discordia Pt. 1

After arriving back at Baba Yaga castle you were immediately ordered to rest by Arachne. You didn't argue with her as you were exhausted in general and the encounter with Emma left you drained. You managed to actually fall asleep without stressing about DWMA or Asura strangling you in your dreams. You slept peacefull for a full day before you were awakened due to sudden movement in your bed. You slowly opened your tired eyes and met Arachne's elegant cobweb designed ones. Her face was mere inches as your breaths met mingling together  before parting. You were too tired to freak about how close she was to you as you lazily smiled up at the witch.

Arachne:Good morning my love.

(Y/n):Good morning.

Arachne maintained eye contact with you giving you a gentle smile before lean down slightly and connecting your lips with hers. Her eyes slowly slid close as your lips danced in sync with each other. You closed your eyes letting the dark fill your vision as you brought up an arm and wrapping it loosely around Arachne's neck. You felt her smile widen as she brought a cool hand to your warm cheek. The kiss was fierce and passionate, as though Arachne was trying to prove to some unknown force that you were her's and her's alone. As your lips parted you breathed in deeply regaining the air Arachne had passionately taken from you with out you knowing it.

Arachne:I certainly prefer this bold side of you my love.

(Y/n):Did you need Arachne?

Her hand caressed you cheek slightly as you saw her smile droop slightly. She looked off to the side before returning her gaze to you.

Arachne:I needed you to wake so I could inform you of something important. I will be leaving the castle with Giriko and Mosquito. Thus the leadership of the castle falls to you my love. I hope you will not fail me.

(Y/n):You can trust me Arachne.

She smiled before connecting your lips for a chaste kiss before pulling away and moving off of you.

Arachne:And if I were you I would move out of those filthy garments.

You looked down and she was quite right. Sweat and blood stains were littered across your attire. You sighed as you crawled out of the comfort of your bed. You walked over to the dresser before realizing this was your only outfit besides the cloths you had arrived in.

(Y/n):Arachne are there any spare outfits I can wear?

You turned back only to see Arachne was long gone. You walked to the door and stuck your head into the hallway looking down both ways. Arachne was no where to be seen, but a very concerned Mosquito was power walking towards your door. He spotted you and his pace quickened slightly.

Mosquito:Young man we have something to discuss.

You took a step back as the shorter man walked in the door way and shut the door firmly behind him.

Mosquito:You are in grave danger young man.

(Y/n):What do you mean?

Mosquito:I'm sure Arachne informed you we were leaving on an expedition. Correct?

You nodded.

Mosquito:But lady Arachne did not tell you the purpose.

Mosquito closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He turned to you and spoke clearly.

Mosquito:Arachne plans to bring Asura here.

Your eyes widened in terror.

(Y/n):W-What?! Arachne is bringing her here?!

Mosquito:Her?

(Y/n):Er I meant him, but why? Why is he coming her?

Mosquito:I can't tell you the true reason, but I cared about your safety. I know of your past with Asura and I came up with a plan. I have the authority to send you on an assignment long enough that you won't have to worry about Asura.

(Y/n):Thank you Mosquito! What do I have to do?!

Mosquito:I am tasking you with hunting down and eliminating Arachne's sister, Medusa.

You choked on air as you heard of your nearly impossible task.

(Y/n):You can't be serious. Eliminate Medusa? Are you insane.... Well more insane than you usually are?!

Mosquito:I know it is a mountainous task I am putting on your shoulders, but it is the only way to keep you away from Asura.

(Y/n):I understand and I than, you, but Arachne left me in charge of the castle, I can't just abandon my task.

Mosquito:That is why I will leave one of ,y subordinates in charge to free you up for the task.

(Y/n):Truly Mosquito, thank you so much.

Mosquito:Think nothing of it... to be honest I see you as the child I never had.

Wow. You never expected him to say that. You stared at mosquito in slight bewilderment.

Mosquito:In other words, you are going to need better equipment than those rags, especially if your are facing Medusa. I have an outfit from my younger days if you wish to use that.

(Y/n):Any cloths at this point would be nice.

Mosquito:Follow me.

You followed Mosquito as he walked into the hall and towards what you can only assume is his room. You walked in and for a plain room it still held and air of elegance. Everything was black with white trim except for a bottle of wine sitting on an end table. It was blood red and resided next to a spotless glass.

Mosquito:Here you are lad.

You turned your attention to Mosquito to see him holding an outfit.

(This glorious photo is not mine)

Mosquito chuckled as you stared in awe at the outfit.

Mosquito:I see you like it. Yes back in my day I was quite the adventurer myself before I met lady Arachne. Now I don't have much use for it anymore.

(Y/n):This is amazing. I never thought of you as the wild type Mosquito.

Mosquito:Giriko didn't either before I beat him into the ground.

You took the outfit from Mosquito and he walked out of the room. You then began to slip on the outfit. Though kinda snug around the torso, it was perfect for you at least for the moment. You walked out into the hallway and Mosquito was waiting.

Mosquito:You look rather dashing. You remind me of a young me.

(Y/n):I certainly hope that's a good thing.

Mosquito:It shouldn't be hard to find some spare boots and then you should be ready for the journey. Now we don't have much time till we leave. the best way to avoid Lady Arachne finding out is to wait for an hour after our departure to head out on your own.

You went to reply when you heard a door be smashed opened. You both looked down the hall to see an aggravated Giriko looking into a room before his eyes caught your own. You saw his scowl worsen as he marched down the hall.

Giriko:Old man! Arachne's been waiting for you so get a move on.

Mosquito:Stop screaming you fool I'm right here! Now let's go.

Mosquito gave you a sideways glance and you nodded in confirmation. You followed them to the throne room to see Arachne in winter attire. She turned to you and smiled before looking you up and down.

Arachne:I certainly like the outfit my love.

Arachne walked up to you and planted a kiss on your forehead. Now fully aware you did blush a bit.

Arachne:We won't be gone long my love and once we return I will hold you in my arms and never let go.

She leaned in closer to you and whispered directly into your ear.

Arachne:And I mean never let you go.

She straightened back up and began to walk away. Giriko scoffed at you before walking after and Mosquito gave a nod with a tip of his hat. You watched them walk out the front castle doors before they closed with a loud bang. You let out a breath you didn't even know you had pent up before rushing back down the hall to find some boots. Luckily it's not too hard to convince a minion to give up his boots. You laced them up tightly and waited for an hour as instructed by Mosquito. Once time had passed you packed a few supplies, whatever you could fit into the jackets pockets, and exited Baba Yaga castle. As you made it to the entrance of the cave you glanced back at the castle one last time before continuing towards your task.

Time Skip

It had been several days since your journey started. Medusa was very elusive as you knew she would be so finding clues was a scarcity. You had stopped to rest by a river when you heard thunder. You looked to the skies to see clouds, but they seemed off. There was a mean acing red glint to them and they seemed to spring up in random direction, until they met together and coated the sky in thick grey clouds. Not long after small red particles fell around you. You reached out your hand and watched one fall and dissolve on impact. This was a terrible mistake. Your pupils contracted as a splitting headache rested itself in your skull. You gripped both sides of your skull as you writhed in pain. After what felt like an eternity the pain subsided and you managed to release you head. You looked up and you nearly fell back from shock. Everything around you was grey and the previous life around you seemed dead. The trees looked burned to a crisp and the animals were nonexistent. You turned to the river and saw the once clear blue water was now a charcoal black color. In the water ripples appeared and the white outline of three eyes appeared. The symbol that was carved in your neck began to burn at the memory of once before. You turned on a hill and began to run from the water, from Asura, from this hell. You approached a desolate road and a grilled your knees breathing in deeply. You gaze drifted forward to a broken sign. You walked to it and picked up it up carefully. On it was written once word.

(Y/n):Discordia.

Childs laughter alerted you to the presence of another person. Down the road was a kid running.

(Y/n):H-Hey!

You dropped the sign and took off after the kid. He was quick for someone his age, too quick. You just barely managed to keep up long enough to see a door. He opened it and ran inside slamming it behind him. You jogged up to pit gripping the doorknob and pulling it open like he had. You froze, the sound of pottery smashing into hardwood floor hot your ears as you watched the child panic.

???:What was that?!

A gruff voice yelled out as you heard the sound of footsteps stomp closer and closer. The little boy began to sob as he picked up the pieces quickly. You watched a man walk towards the boy, his face was dark but you could see he clearly worked as a hunter of sorts.

???:Dad I'm so savory it was an accident.

The boy's father responded quickly and harshly.

???:What did I say about breaking things?! What did I say if you broke one more thing in this house?!

The boy tried to reply, but he was sobbing to hard.

???:God your nothing, but a mistake!

You watched the boy's father walk off a girly and the boy finally turned towards you with watery eyes. You nearly had a heart attack right there. The boy was you. That horrible man was your father. You were trapped in your own mind that was horribly warped by madness.

???:There's only one escape and it leads into my arms. Hurry my love.

That voice. That voice was one of the causes of this. It was Medusa. You slammed the door before turning around quickly. Your eyes widened and tears built up as you stepped back and slid down the door. There before you was hundreds of door, all different shapes and sizes. All memories from your horrible past. Only one of them an exit from Discordia. You breathed out sharply and stood up wiping your eyes. You could do this. You had to do this. You walked up to the first door and swung it open. Replaying in stop motion was the time you corrected your mother by accident and she slapped you. You gritted your teeth and slammed the door shut. You hated them so much and now you had to dig up old memories? What sick person would make you do this? Then you came to the realization that it was you. You shakily sighed out before moving to the next door. It would be a long time until you reached the end of this nightmare.
