You continued to walk back to your apartment in silence as your thoughts seemed to cloud your brain.

"I'll prove it to them, I'm not after good grades" You said to yourself placing a fist in your palm, with a look of determination on your face.

*next day*

"Oh...shoot she's coming" You heard Maka warn everyone. they immediately stood casually and pretended that they weren't just talking about you.

Instead of greeting them with a bright smile and loud 'Goodmorning!', You gave them a small wave and walked past them, letting out a breath you didn't you were holding in.

Everyone didn't seem to notice besides Tsubaki, who was a little worried that you had found out about their hidden hatred.

The day seemed to drag by for hours upon hours as you sat away from both the gang and your weapon, who was getting slightly worried, due to the loss of your smile and giddyness.

Upon hearing the final bell ring, you decided to try talking to the gang without letting a word about what you had heard the day before.

"Hey.." you greeted quietly, as you approached them.

"Sup" Soul greeted back. Of course he didn't bother hiding his irritation as he rolled his eyes, earning a Maka-chop.

You held back the urge to giggle, knowing that his irritation was directed at you.

"So...what are you guys doing later?" You asked nonchalantly, without a trace of a smile on your face.

Tsubaki immediately felt guilty. She assumed you had figured out someway and didn't hesitate to ask you to hang out.

Everyone wanted to shoot glares at Tsubaki but only Blackstar managed to do so.

'This is my chance' With the look of determination plastered on your face yet again, you nodded and she gave you a small smile.

The gang soon agreed on going to hang out at the basketball court as per usual.

Usually you would sit alongside with Maka and tell her stories and such.

This time you agreed on playing a game,without knowing a single thing about basketball.

After Soul irritably explained the rules, you were all set.

Your plan of acting 'cool' and 'daring' backfired when you ended up causing your team to lose.

"You should've stayed with Maka like always" Black star whined, earning glares from everyone, but you knew they agreed.

Without pulling a sad face you rolled your eyes and bid them goodbye as you ran back home.

A small smile appeared on your face, proud of how well you had put on your facade.

Little did you know, your ignorance only fueled the gang's burning hatred. Tsubaki dared not say anything but forced herself to stop considering your feelings.

Days have passed and you wore your facade each and every day. Kid hadn't hung out with you or the gang the past couple of days and you were thankful for that.

You knew that you would break down in front of him and lose the non existence respect from everyone.

The gang saw your silence and ignorance a great excuse to throw harsh insults at you.

It started with Blackstar's comment and soon everyone was insulting you , finally unleashing their true feelings towards you.

Because of the mask you wore, you shed no tears and refused to give into them.

Soon they even brought dangerous tasks into the mix and you would ignore the pain you were in.

But one day, you had enough. Blackstar had dared you to jump from the top of DWMA, where he had given Kid his big introduction.

You would've done it in a sweat but after all the emotional pain you had went through, you purposely messed up, breaking your leg at the huge fall.

"(Y/n)!" No one bothered to help you, but luckily Haruto was searching for you and helped you up, glaring daggers at everyone that were silently laughing.

"You sick idiots! Why didn't you help her!" He shouted, anger evident in his voice as he picked you up bridal style and stomped off to the infirmary immediatly.

"Don't you think you should tell Kid about this?" Haruto asked as he walked to the infirmary, his grip on you tightening the closer you approached the said room.

"He couldn't care less" You mumbled, hoping he wouldn't hear it but to your disadvantage , he heard it loud and clear an let out a frustrated sigh.

He left you in the infirmary, blabbing about getting something from the classroom or something among those lines.

" It's not good to keep stuff like this to yourself (y/n)" Dr. Stein said, as he examined your leg.

You didn't know how to respond to that and hung your head low, realizing how messed up what you did was.

Before anymore words could be exchanged the door opened with a bang and you shot your head up to see Kid, panting deeply.

He looked up at you and you noticed the dark circles that surrounded his beautiful gold eyes, that were once full of happiness. Now they were filled with nothing but concern and anger.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" He shouted, clenching his hands into fists as he took deep breathes. Being locked up in an office meant that he rarely did any running or exercise for that matter.

Sensing the tension in the room Dr.Stein left the infirmary along with your partner.

"You're just like them that's why" You spat, anger bursting through your veins.

It was rare for you to get mad but when you did it would be very obvious.

"What are you talking about?" Kid exclaimed, walking over to you and placing his hands on your shoulders as he stared into your (e/c) eyes.

His actions only made you burst into tears and you couldn't help but sob your heart out at the emotions you've been keeping in all this time.

The anger, the sadness and the humiliation were finally getting to you.

"T-the b-bear" You managed to sputter out as tears streamed down your face endlessly.

"What?" Kid asked, then reality slapped him in the face.

When Haruto had busted into his office, he had tripped on the dark stuffed animal, that laid in the same spot since you gave it to him.

"(Y/n) I-" He attempted to wrap his arms around you but you turned your back to him.

You had given him so much time to figure it out, yet he only realized after you stamped it across your forhead.

"(Y/n) ... I don't hate you... I promise, I could never hate you" He said, softly.

Hearing the truth from Kid , made you turn around and pulled home into a hug.

"I'm sorry, I should've told you sooner" You sobbed as he rubbed circles on your back in a soothing manner.

"It's alright, now get some rest, I'll be back soon" He smiled, before letting go of you and leaving the room.

Dr.Stein finished your check up and out your leg in a cast, meaning you had to use crutches for a week but even that couldn't ruin your mood.

After being led out of the infirmary you saw the gang with apologetic looks on their faces standing next to a happy Kid.

It was obvious that they were going to apologize but instead you pulled them into a big group hug and smiled.

Everyone was shocked from the unexpected hug but soon they were all smiling as well.

It was the start of a new beginning.
