"Sparkles !"

Sophie ran to the small group,going to her partner with a frown. "I-I'm so sor—"

"Go away !" Blackstar yelled,pushing her off. "You already killed him ! Don't tell me you'll hurt us too !"

He wasn't thinking straight at the moment. Sparkles was a best friend of his,next to Soul. When he was too scared to make a move on Sophie,he helped him out. Leaked out her secrets,her likes,hobbies,and helped him make surprises for her.

Yes,and the fact that he's gone,it hurts. He treated the person like a brother or a relative.

Sophie frowned. She looked down,trying to stretch her hand out and touch her partner's arm. "I-I didn't mean to…"

"I said go away ! You're a witch ! I never should've trusted you !"

Sophie choked in tears at his statement. Tsubaki looked startled,looking at Blackstar. "Hey,you know that it's not her fault…"

Blackstar gritted his teeth,fists clenching. "Why are you still here ?! Go ! NOW !" Blackstar cried out angrily. Tsubaki sighed and looked at him in pity,feeling the sadness of his meister. The shot was clearly aimed for him,but Sparkles moved and went in the way.

Sophie's lips curved downwards. Tears streamed from her eyes,wanting to at least touch her partner. Wanting to say good-bye,mourn,and hug him tightly. Even for a minute.

"I SAID GO !" Blackstar yelled at her. Sophie gasped slightly,startled at his voice. He never yelled at her,no matter what. But she understood why. She did a horrible thing,something unforgivable. She gave a small nod,before standing up and turning away from him.

Dozens of sorries and apologies clouded her mind. Her eyes went dull,looking down in sadness as she heard Blackstar sniffling slightly. Her frown got dragged downwards more. But she decided to erase it. She deserved to be yelled at. Everyone of her kind does.

The witch made a stiffled chuckle from above. She stared down at Sophie,taking chance of her sadness and guilt.

"Follow me."

Sophie's eyes shot wide. The cat-like-details went back in her pupils,before giving a small nod. The tears from her eyes stopped,but she didn't wipe them off. She summoned lightning,then used it as transportation to follow the witch to it's lair.

Tsubaki gasped,taking her eyes off of her sad meister for a while. She stood up,looking at the skies and watching.

Blackstar's eyes went wide. He got back to his senses when he saw Tsubaki stand. He slowly looked up,seeing Sophie getting dragged by the witch. She was holding her hand roughly,but Sophie was deep in the trance and she can't feel anything. Anything but the urge to follow the witch's orders.

He gasped,standing up. "Sophie !" He started to run. "Give her back ! Sophie !"

Tsubaki frowned,holding him back. Blackstar struggled,but she did her best to keep him still. Blackstar turned to look at her with worry,making her sigh. "Report to Lord Death. I'm sure he'll send us with the others to look for her…"

Blackstar sighed sadly,looking away. "I-it's my fault… I-I yelled at her… I made her cry…"

"No,it wasn't. Everyone gets sad to limits. You weren't thinking straightly." Tsubaki patted his back. Blackstar clenched his fists,his eyebrows crossing in guilt.

"Damn it…"

Blackstar dwindled his fingers,playing with the ends of the black shirt he's wearing. He stared downwards,not wanting to see his pale face—The face that used to have a bright smile,matched with a slight giggle that made him cute. He thinks he sound like a gay or something,but it doesn't matter at the moment.

Tsubaki patted his shoulder. She knew he needed it. Especially now because Sophie wasn't around. And it was because of him himself.

"Hey,you two,are you going to the Death room after this ?" Maka asked,looking at Tsubaki. Tsubaki turned,blinking. "Huh ?"

"Lord Death said that he needs someone to chase after Sophie. It has to be quick,cause if she kills another person,Lord Death will give her a death penalty…"

"WHAT ?!"

The girls got startled at his voice. Blackstar grabbed Tsubaki's arm,then started running off.

"How are you going to get her back…?"

Tsubaki asked. Blackstar made a sigh,clutching the chainscythe tightly. "I don't know… But I have to get her back. Even if it means another death. Either mine,or the witch's." He started walking in the small lair. As he stopped in front of the lair,he took a deep breath,then took a step in.

Boom. An explosion happened. Blackstar stumbled backwards. Electricity sparked around. He coughed,sitting up.

Sophie was there. Standing still on the lair's 'roof',she held an expressionless glance. Guilt shot him down. He missed her smile.

"Go away. Now."

His hands made a small tremble. The poison-like venom made him feel weak. His knees trembled.

It was all his fault.

"Are you deaf ? I said LEAVE."

"N-no…"

Blackstar's knees trembled at her voice. She sounded so plain… Expressionless. Strict. It was the total opposite. And he missed the gentleness in it,which was replaced by hate. Sophie's eyes gleamed yellow,sending a hateful glare at him.

"Why ? Don't tell me you're going to get me back !" Sophie faked a laugh. "You already LEFT me ! You pushed me AWAY !"

Blackstar bit his lip. He tried to calm himself down. Stop himself from crying. "I-I didn't…"

Sophie growled at his sentence. Her cat eyes glowed,the trance she was trapped in made her hate him to bits. "Stop lying."

"I-I'm not lying..."

"Really ?" Sophie crossed her arms,glaring at him. "All I wanted was to touch him. All she wanted. But you pushed her away. You chose to be selfish than to understand anything." She grinned a bit. "Too late now,there's no turning back."

Guilt internally shot Blackstar down. His hands trembled,tears welling up his eyes. "I-it's never too late for anything… Please,Sophie,get a hold of yourself…"

"Sophie is gone. She's not going back. Leave now or you'll regret it."

"Please…"

"I gave you a chance." Sophie smirked,making electricity spark around her hand. Blackstar looked downwards,dropping the chainscythe to the ground. Yes,he's strong. Yep,he's energetic. Yes,he's egotistical. And yes,he's confident. But not now in this state of hers.

Sophie raised her hand. She was ready to send it at him,but then it happened.

....

"No ! Stein,don't hurt her !"

Sophie woke up in the infirmary. Her chest was aching a lot. What happened…?

All she remembered was… Flashback. All of his words. Curses. A dead Sparkles on the ground. And a raging Blackstar.

She tried to sit up. But her hands were tied to the bed,same as her arms and legs. Her eyebrows furrowed. She was sure that it was the school's infirmary… Why is she tied ?

She squeezed her eyes shut,trying to remember.

Then there it was. The witch's mumbles and whispers woke her up. She looked startled,staring at the ceiling. Did she… Kill another person again ?

Her heart shattered.

"Please…"

"No… No !" She started trashing around,trying to remove the ropes. "Please ! No ! Not him ! Anyone but him !" She screamed as her head thumped in pain,flashbacks of what she did and tried to do entered in her mind.

"Sophie ! Calm down !"

She heard the voice. But her eyes were kept shut. She continued to scream,tears streaming down her eyes. More of the flashbacks came. Her panic attack started to worsen.

The person released her from the ties,then pulled her to a hug. Sophie was still having the attack,but it started to weaken down as she heard gentle whispers. "It's okay… It's okay.. Don't panic… I'm here.."

She started panting for air as the adrenaline slowly stopped flowing in her body. Her heartbeat started to get back to it's normal rate as she breathed in and out,the person patting her back gently.

Soon,she calmed down. She opened her eyes,taking a deep sigh as she shakily pulled away. The person wore a smile.

"The witch was exterminated days ago while you slept. It's all fine now. Lord Death won't hurt you."

Sophie's jaw slightly dropped. She stared at the boy in front of him. And her chest fluttered in happiness and relief as she recognized the emerald-eyed bluenette.

Blackstar slightly chuckled,hugging her again and placing a kiss on her forehead. "Good to see you back,my goddess."

"Y-you're not mad..?" Sophie looked up at him. Blackstar made a laugh.

"Of course not. It wasn't you." He patted her head gently. Sophie smiled in relief,but it soon faded.

"Sparkles…"

"Is happy in the skies. He always talked about how he wanted to lay down on clouds to see if it's really fluffy,right ?" He slightly chuckled. Sophie blinked slightly.

"And about 'you' almost killing me,don't mind it. Gods don't die easily." He smiled,placing a quick kiss on her lips now. Sophie blushed,then giggled a bit. "So… You're not upset now…?"

"Nope. I'm just happy to see you back again. I hate those eyes you had."

He smirked a bit. "The original pair is better."
