"Focus on the fight,Maka !"

Soul yelled,his figure flashing from the blade. Maka grunted as she slammed against the wall,sliding down before nodding with heavy breaths. "I-I am…" She mumbled,using Soul to stand back on her feet. Soul sighed,watching.

The kishin egg ran at her,holding it's large hammer up for a smashing attack. Maka ran at it also then slid under it's feet,just right in time before the hammer hit her. As soon as she reached the back of the kishin egg,Maka stood up and spinned the scythe.

"Soul resonance !"

The kishin turned around,and because of it's huge hammer and large body,it took a lot of time. She took the chance and jumped up,raising Soul with a battle cry. "Witch hunter !" She yelled,and slicing the kishin egg in half as soon as the blade grew large due to resonance.

The body disappeared and a red soul took place. Maka dropped Soul's scythe form in exhaustion,her eyelids dropping quickly as she soon followed the scythe. "Maka !" Soul yelled,turning back to his human form to catch his meister,of course.

Maka's eyes slowly fluttered open,looking around and examining the surroundings. When things started to clear up,she finally realized that she's in her room. She sighed,sitting up and rubbing her eyes. She only remembered that she fainted after the kishin egg died. She scratched the back of her head,before moving and getting out of bed.

"Stay down. You need rest." Soul suddenly appeared to her room door. Maka looked at him,blinking. "Huh ?" She asked. Soul sighed,drying his wet hair with a towel hanging around his neck. He was wearing blue pj's,with small souls as design. He yawned,before taking her hand and leading her back to bed. Maka just followed,holding a small blush.

"Stein said that you're going through a lot of stress these days. And you pushed the resonance to it's limit so it really took a lot from you." He explained,sitting on a chair as Maka laid down again. Soul sighed,looking at her. "Is something bothering you ?" He asked. Maka blinked,before sighing and looking away. "No… I'm fine. Nothing's bothering me so shut up." She crossed her arms. Soul scratched his head,before poking her cheek and leaning close. "Liar." He stated.

Maka blinked,then blushed furiously. Yep,she's been thinking a lot. But it's not stress. It's because of strange happenings everytime her and Soul are near each other.

Of course,it was normal. But Maka always feel a shock from her hand and crawl up to her whole arm. Her heart also beats fast,and her face was red. She was thinking of what those should've meant.

She asked Tsubaki's advice,who said that it's just because of love. Yep,maybe she has a small crush.. But she wasn't sure if she should believe it's love. Of course,Soul's her partner and she just can't fall in love with him in an instant. Besides,if they got together and break up after some time,it'll mess their sync. And she doesn't want that to happen.

"Maka ? You still in there ?" Soul blinked. Maka got back to her senses,then looked at him. "Huh…?" She blinked. Soul sighed. "Something's bothering you.." He mumbled. "Tell it."

Maka blushed,before sighing and shaking her head. "E-even though I tell it,you'll just laugh…" She mumbled. Soul blinked,before grinning. "Hmm… Let me guess,is Ms. Tiny tits having a crush now ?" He smirked. Maka looked startled,then shook her head quickly. "N-no !" She denied. Soul laughed.

"Who is it ? Kid ? Blackstar ?" He asked. His own words slightly stung,mainly because he had secret feelings for her. For him,it was clear that she doesn't like him.

"P-psh… I-I'll just say it after the dance tomorrow in school ! You know… It's a party for the school…" She nervously laughed,then laid down. Soul was about to speak when Maka pulled the covers up and covered her head with it. "I'm tired.. So.. I'll get some sleep. Good night !" She greeted under the blanket. Soul sighed,then stood up with a shrug. "Whatever. Anyways,good night." He went over to the door then opened it,exiting the room before closing it again. Maka sighed,taking the blanket off of her face.

"Tch… You made a trouble by promising to tell it tomorrow…"

Soul sighed,fixing his neck tie in front of the mirror. He tugged on his black with white,thin stripes suit,then slightly ruffled his hair. "I wonder who that guy is…" He mumbled,his ruby red eyes gleaming at the mirror. "I guess he's so lucky to have Maka's attention…" He shrugged. When he felt like he's cool and ready to go,he went over to his room door then opened it,at the same time when Maka opened her door and fully dressed.

Soul blinked,then his jaw slightly dropped at the view. His shark teeth slightly showed as his ruby eyes scanned over his meister.

Maka was wearing a red,elegant dress,with a simple black ribbon around the waist part. Her shoulders showed,and she wore red gloves that started from her mid-arm up to her hand. Her pigtails were curled up and she was wearing ribbons with it,and red high heels to match the dress.

"Uh… You can tell your opinion about it… I can just change into the old dress I wore last DWMA's foundation celebration if it doesn't suit me…"

Maka sighed,looking away. Soul slightly blushed,but of course,he hid it by laugh. He took her hand then smiled. "You look good. Don't change." He chuckled,trying his hardest to control his nosebleed from escaping. Maka blushed,before slightly nodding. "O-okay…"

[At the school]

"You look nice Maka !" Tsubaki greeted with a smile. Maka just nervously laughed,slightly bowing. "Thanks..." She smiled. Blackstar came over,wearing a wide grin. "Tsubaki ! Wanna have a dance with a star ?" He said with a chuckle. Tsubaki turned to him,then smiled. "Sure. Let's go." She giggled,turning back to Maka. "Is it okay for you here ?" She asked. Maka blinked,before nodding with a smile. "Yeah. Sure… Have fun,Tsubaki."

Tsubaki giggled,patting her head and leaning close. "Look for Soul." She laughed,before leaving with the bluenette. Maka blushed,before sighing. "Psh… I guess I'll just eat…" She muttered,going to the food part and taking some of the food.

When she finished taking a glass of soda and a plate full of food,she went over to the balcony. She placed the plate and the glass on the railings,she sighed,looking at the moon as it laughed. "Psh… Why did I even wore this dress anyway…" Maka muttered as she took a spoonful of food and shoved it in her mouth hungrily. She chewed on it,then smiled. "Atleast the food tastes so good…" She shsugged,taking another and eating.

"Enjoying the food ?" Maka blinked,hearing a familiar voice. She took a drink from the soda and turned around,seeing the boy with the same,snowy white hair and ruby red eyes. Her cheeks instantly flared red,then the small bite of food left in her mouth choked her when she gulped. Soul got startled,patting her back repeatedly as he grabbed the glass of soda and gave it to her. Maka coughed,before taking the soda and chugging on it,leaving it empty.

After she finished,she made a relieved sigh and placed the glass on the balcony's railings. Her green eyes looked at Soul,who was chuckling lightly. "Tch. You eat a lot but you're still skinny." He teased. Maka stood up and pulled away from his hold,crossing arms and pouting. "You better shut up." She grumbled. Soul chuckled,moving the plate after stealing a couple of bites,and standing next to her. "So… You have some telling to do." He smirked.

Maka blinked,looking up at him. "What telling ?" She asked. Soul sighed,scratching his head. "Ya know,you're still 16 yet you forget things a lot. That's just so uncool." He shrugged,looking at her. "You said you'll tell me the thing that bothers you. Also the guy you have a crush on." He grinned,showing off his shark teeth. Maka looked away,blushing shyly. "Well… There's this strange feeling I always get when we hold hands before we fight… You know,when you change to your scythe form…" She sighed.

"Then my heart beats twice faster when you're near… I don't know why,so… I went to ask Tsubaki's advice about it…" She mumbled. Soul blinked,internally smiling. "She has those same strange things in the same situation as me…" He grinned. "And… What did she say ?" Soul asked. Maka dwindled her thumbs,before muttering words.

"Shesaidimustbefeelingloveforyou..."

Soul blinked,his eyebrows furrowing and scratching his head. "Uh… What ?" He mumbled. Maka grumbled,fidgeting away. "Uh… She said that i…" She hid her face in her hands,blushing furiously. Soul sighed,deciding to replay the thing she said to try and remember it.

"Shesaidimustbefeelingloveforyou..."

"She-said-i-must-be-feeling-love-for-you"

"She-said-i-must-be-feeling-love-for-you."

"Wait,what ?!" Soul's eyes shot wide,finally realizing what she said. He glanced at Maka,who was still blushing with her face hidden. He blinked,then slightly smiled. He took a step close to her,taking her hands away and staring at her eyes. Maka stared back,mesmerized in his red eyes. Soul made his toothy grin,smirking. "Ohhhh. So she said you must have feelings for me,huh ?"

Maka blushed furiously,looking away and doing a slight nod. "Y-yeah… B-but that doesn't mean I really do !" She stuttered. Soul blinked,before sighing. "So you don't ?" He asked. Maka looked startled,before looking back at him.

"N-no I don't ! I-I mean-- Yes I do ! B-but--"

She stuttered frantically,making Soul laugh and cup her cheeks. Maka stopped,calming down and looking at him. Soul just showed his toothy grin,before leaning in and giving a kiss. Maka's eyes widened,startled by it. But soon,she just gave in.

When Soul pulled back for air,he laughed at Maka's startled -- yet innocent -- expression.

"I love you too."
