"Hey… Come on,eat something."

Kid nudged your shoulder,giving you a plate of food. You shook your head,adjusting your chair and sighing. "I don't have the appetite…"

"Tch. Look,your weapon's gonna kill me once he wakes up. He'll say I never made you eat !" Kid sighed. "Please. Just one bite !" He said. You tsk'd,then hid your head in your arms.

Your weapon,Kyle,was out cold for hours. You were watching him in the hospital,feeling guilt swirl around your guts as you sighed. Everything was your fault. If you weren't that stupid,he wouldn't be in such a critical state.

"Psh… Eat this. Or I'll do something to you once I get back and this plate stays unmoved." Kid stood up,then went outside. Yep,everyone made him try to force you to eat,knowing that he's your best friend. But it wasn't enough.

As you stared at the white sheets of the hospital bed,everything flashed back in your eyes. The way that stupid gigantic lizard tried to claw you and Kyle took the attack. The claws were poisonous,and it's side effects can make him feel pain everytime he wakes even though he was a reaper.

You felt the sheets move. You looked up as Kyle fluttered his eyes open,looking around slowly.

You watched him wander his gaze around. When his eyes landed on your (e/c) ones,a smile crawled across his lips. "Hey.."

You looked at him,then slightly smiled back. "Hey…" You whisper-answered. Kyle noticed the unmoved food on the side drawer,making him sit up slightly. "Is that yours ?" He groaned slightly,holding the wound across his stomach. You helped him up,sighing. "Yeah…"

"Eat. Don't starve yourself." Kyle sighed,placing a hand on your head. You looked at him,then gave a slight nod.

As you took the plate and start to eat,the side effects started to appear again. Kyle bit his lip hardly to try enduring it.

"Kyle… Are you okay ?" You took a spoonful of food then shoved it in your mouth,blinking slightly. Kyle gave a nod,letting go of his lip and panting slightly. "Y-yeah… Don't mind me…"

You looked worried,setting the plate down and looking at him. "You're getting pale…" You mumbled,looking at his skin tone. Kyle wanted to speak,but the pain around his wounds went worse. He started screaming,clutching his stomach tightly.

You looked startled,before standing up. "H-hold on ! I-I'll call Stein !" After that,you ran off from the room. Kyle's screams in pain echoed around the hallway,and it made you run faster to Stein's office.

As soon as you found him,you told him everything. Stein quickly went to the room,sighing. "Good timing. I just got done making the antidote for him." He walked to him,taking a syringe from his pocket. "Stay still." He mumbled,taking his arm. Kyle nodded,gritting his teeth. He was sweating a lot,and his hands were in fists.

You watched from behind,feeling guilty about the sight. Your partner was feeling pain because of you,and it made you feel a lot guilty. You were the one destined to be in that place,not him.

You looked away,feeling tears well up in your eyes. When Stein finished injecting the drug in him,he sighed slightly,feeling the pain start to ease. Soon,he fell asleep,starting to breath calmly again.

You grabbed the doorknob then ran outside,the tears starting to make their way to your cheeks. You were about to run when you bumped ho Kid,who was about to get in.

You looked up,seeing the pair of gold eyes again. You looked away,taking a step back and wiping your tears. "S-sorry…"

Kid stared at you for a while. Sighing,he raised your chin up slightly. "Don't feel bad about what happened to your partner." He mumbled,pulling you to a tight hug.

You paused for a while,startled. You never thought he would hug you. But when he did,your tears just increased and without any other thought,you started sobbing on his chest. Kid sighed,rubbing your back slightly and comforting you.

"I-it's just… I-I was the one supposed to be in his place ! N-not him ! I-it's my fault ! Everything… I-it—"

"Shh… It isn't your fault… Please,stop crying…" Kid whispered gently, then sighed. You hid you face in his chest,sniffling and continuing to cry.

Kid watched you cry as he held you tight. He sighed,mindlessly placing a kiss on your forehead. "It's okay… He'll be okay,I promise."

When you felt him kiss your forehead,your eyes shot wide in shock. "Did he just…"

Kid blushed,realizing what he did. You looked up at him,blinking slightly. Kid stared at you,before sighing. He smiled,wiping your remaining tears off. "Looks like I made you calm down."

You blushed,before looking away. You sniffled slightly,frowning and sighing. "Still…"

"I'm sure Kyle's upset when you blame yourself." Kid patted your head. "So… Smile, please ?" He asked. You looked up at him,your frown still showing. "It's not that easy… Especially when…"

"If you continue to cry,I'll get upset too." Kid sighed. "I don't want to see you crying."

You stared at him for minutes,speechless. Kid smiled,leaning in closer to you.

"I love you. And I'll do everything to prevent you from crying like this again."
