prologue

'a bond of souls'

Reni McCall waited at the gates of Madame Petunia's School For Gifted Young Women. A grey suitcase at her feet and a dark purple backpack slung round her shoulder. The young girl's hazel eyes searched everywhere waiting for something – someone.

A back Mercedes zoomed up the road, ACDC blaring from the car radio. Reni smiled brightly as the expensive car stopped right in front of her. A girl, the same age as Reni smirked from behind a pair of black shades. Her skin was pale and her black hair was tied back into a high ponytail.

"Please tell me daddy is pissed off?" the girl asked, showing of her pearly white teeth.

Reni only smiled brightly before throwing her suitcase into the backseat along with her backpack. "Pissed? I'm sure he popped a blood vessel or two when they called him" Reni snickered as her friend stepped on the gas. Highway to Hell was blaring so loud the nuns closed all the windows to the boarding school.

Reni opened the motel door, a small tote bag filled with clothes. "Clarity, come on help me with the grimores" an older voice called out, the sound of a trunk closing coming right afterwards. The other girl, Clarity took a quick jog over to one of the single beds in the room, grabbing the giant pile old books with ease.

"I'm in the bathroom!" Reni called out, her disgusting school uniform sticking to her skin. Reni quickly changed into a white tank top with an oversized burgundy sweater that was made for the california heat unlike her uniform and a pair of gray jeans.

She left the bathroom to find Clarity holding a giant trunk that look older than the head nun of her old school. "I need to get used to this" Reni sighed, making Clarity laugh. "Come on Ren, my friend got us a new lift" Clarity wiggled her eyebrows horribly, making Reni laugh as she followed her out of the motel room. A standard moving truck sat outside the door, with all of the trio's in belongings inside.

Reni only shook her head. "Never thought you could be subtle Clar" Reni commented, nudging the young wolf in her side. Clarity let out a false gasp, a hand over her heart. "I am insulted that you think so low of me Serenity McCall" Clarity acted, giving the girl a gentle push. Reni laughed before clearing her throat. "Well Clarity Hale you do have expensive taste" Reni declared with the worst English accent ever.

The two girls burst out laughing at themselves. Milah watched from the side of the truck as the girls closed up the back before locking it properly. "Come on girls, we only have the summer. The alpha pack will be arriving in Beacon Hills soon" Milah called out before hopping into the driver's seat.

Clarity opened her eyes, her head spinning as dry blood caked her temple. Reni! Reni can you hear me! Clarity waited for a repsonse, her heart pounding in her ears. Her eyes glowed the golden yellow as she punched the tarmac.

"RENI!"
