Aayana's POV -

It has been almost 1 hour since Iru is in the kitchen and I am working. I am so hungry. Where is she? My phone starts ringing. I take a look and it's Sagar.

Me: Hello, Sagar. I am working on the file. There have been so many mistakes. You should look up the accountants closer. If I am not wrong, the wage bill lists have so many issues. Can you give a quick look at that, I am checking the further options.

Sagar: I am extremely sorry, Aayana. The junior accountant is new and he made the mistake. He accessed last week's database and things went wrong.

Me: Please don't blame him. As you mentioned he is a new team member. So, as a senior, it's your responsibility to show him the right path. No problem, it's just 1:30 p.m. I am working in the rest department. As the month is closing, the rest of the department will receive their salary. I wanted to finish that database today as well. So, I am directly working on that. And I am already done with other files, just looking once again to be sure. After lunch, please send me the workers' wages database then I will approve the file for our weekend meeting. Is that okay, Sagar?

Sagar: Yes, thanks for your understanding. And I am extremely sorry for my end's mistake. I should be more careful.

Me: That's really fine. It happens sometimes. Actually, I am in a little rush. So, I am finishing everything as soon as possible.

Sagar: I am sending that first. Then we will go for lunch. Let's talk later.

Me: No problem. You have your lunch. As I shared with you, I am working on another part. So, you have your lunch and don't pressure others. Let them work freely. You collaborate your working time with that junior and share the file with me after your lunch.

Sagar: Okay thanks.

Me: You are most welcome. Bye for now.

Sagar: Bye.

I hung up the call and concentrated on my work again. But where is my love? I should check on her first. I look by my side to leave the chair and Iru is standing a few steps away from me.

"Why are you standing there?" Then I noticed the food tray in her hands.

"I came here a few minutes ago. But as you are working, I thought to stay behind till you are done with the phone call." I feel so guilty. Was I so busy that I didn't notice her?!

"Please come here, love," I called her to me. She pulls the corner table from the sofa's area and puts the tray on that. Then she sits by my side.

"Is it so much work? Please don't take a load. Let's go a little later. What is in that?" She is tucking my hair behind my ears.

"No, I want to go as soon as possible." I try to show my eagerness to be with her.

"Okay then. Lemme feed you the food." I give her a wide smile. Then she feeds me and eats with me. After I am done with food she even makes me drink the water. After putting one kiss on my head, she leaves with the food tray.

She returns after almost 10 minutes. I am still with the work. I give her a smile. She again takes the position she was in earlier when she was feeding me. On my right side. She puts her elbow on the table.

"Is your preparation done?" I ask her to make her busy with something. As I know she is getting bored.

"Yeah, I ordered a new SIM card. The paper was also submitted. The delivery boy will collect my fingerprint for biometric registration. Our packing is already done. I did that in between cooking." I give her a surprised look.

"Oops, you did everything. What else should I suggest to make you busy?" I am looking at my laptop monitor.

"I can read a new fashion magazine. You concentrate on your work." I blink my eyes with approval.

Iru stands up from her chair and puts a kiss on my shoulder then intends to leave. I hold her wrist to stop her. She looks at me with a smile.

"Should I sit here?" I want that too. I turn to her by rotating my chair.

"You should sit here." I tap on my thighs with a smile. She immediately sits on my thighs by putting her legs behind my chair. I am damn sure her legs are hanging in the air now.

"Whatever you say, I will do that." And her naughty words with blush. I spread my legs and she fits into the empty space. I am smiling at her expression.

"Why are you making faces as I spanked your ass?" I am chuckling.

"Directly or indirectly, you did that just now." She smirks which gives me a reason to hug her tightly.

"Why do I fall in love with you more and more with every second?" I ask by keeping her attached to me.

"Maybe I am too cute to digest." And she is giggling. I drop a kiss on her shoulder.

"Yes, that's true." I break our hug then hold her hands on my chest and continue, "Baby, what if we defeat in front of the world? What if we can't be together like Mum and Iba Aunty? Will you still love me this way?" Tears are trickling in both of our eyes.

"I can't predict the future but I can assure you one thing. I will never ever forget our love and I promise to live our love till the last day of my life. Moreover, I won't let you forget me too." In her last line, she tries to crack a funny joke. However, that didn't work for me.

"Promise me that." She looks surprised.

"What to promise?" She is confused.

"That you will never let me forget you." I can feel the teardrops rolling down my cheeks to my neck.

"You won't ever forget me. I also know that. But still, as you asked for then let me make the promise. I promise that I will never let you forget me. If any days come, you will forget me for any reason. I promise to stay with you as your shadow and remind you of our love. This is the promise of mine to my wife."

I am feeling like crying louder but Iru wipes out the tears from my cheeks to my neck. Then she comes closer to my neck and starts drawing kisses. I recline with the chair's support. She continues her kisses which are turning from gentle to rough. This is the first time her kisses are like this. I am pulling her closer and closer. She is holding me as much as she can. It's like the symbol of the promise that she will never let me go from her. I never will too. I inhaled some air which was facing an obstacle because of my excitement.

She halts the kiss and continues, "I love you, sweetheart. Now, you work, otherwise, we will be late for our honeymoon." She rubs her nose with mine. I give her a smile.

"I love you too but I can't let that happen. I don't want to pause the continuity of these kisses." I wink at her.

"I promise it won't stop but then don't complain. Is that okay?" She is yawning.

"Are you sleepy?" I cup her face.

"Yeah, kind of." She puts her head on my right shoulder.

"Then you sleep, I am working." I wrap my arms around her.

"But I don't want to get up from here." She and her wishes.

"Okay then, you stay like this and I am working." She lifts her head from my shoulder. I can see her happiness.

"Can you work this way?" As usual like a kid, she needs my warmth to sleep properly.

"Of course, I can work. I am just checking everything not working on my own. So, just chill and sleep." She immediately puts her head on my shoulder again.

"You sleep then I will start my work." I am roaming my hand on her back.

"Okay, love." She is not talking anymore. I am also silent and waiting for her to sleep. I turn the chair to the mirror side. Iru is almost into a deep sleep. Thankfully she is normal now. Within a few moments, I am getting the sound of her breathing. It's kind of ticklish against my skin but I love it.

Slowly I turn back to the table and get close to that. I take my phone and put this into meeting mode. But why not take a selfie with my sleeping beauty? I turn on the front camera and then set a timer of 2 seconds. I click on the photo-taking button and put a kiss on her forehead. I look back at the picture and it's perfect but my neck. It has red marks. It's hickeys. Aww, I love this moment more now. I have proof of the EMBLEM OF PROMISE.
