Chapter 18

Huhu the next update is here... I know it took me too long to update it but I wrote a very long chapter as compensation for the long wait ;) And besides, the end is coming already... Enjoy it and let me know about your opinion later.

The song is Nat Sakdatorn - One love (I love Only You) (The Video is taken from Youtube)

********************************************

Arthit and his eldest sister Yoon were stil hugging, no one wanted to let go of the other either. This moment they were sharing together, was so precious for them that they wanted to enjoy this reunion to their heart content. Besides, no one did have the heart to disturb them and tear them apart again so Emperor Kongpob and the former crown prince let the two siblings have their time for themselves. Today's attraction wasn't them but the only survivors of Burma's royal family Yoon and Arthit Rojnapat. The eldest sister was the first to break the hug, she hold onto her younger brother's shoulders then pulled him gently back to look at him clearlier from head to toes. A happy smile plastered on her lips. The first thing that took her attention was Arthits small belly, more like his bump where the sole heir of the Rojnapat bloodline was living. However, when she mustered his face clearlier she noticed something shocking that almost took her breath away.

Her sweet brother Ai'Oon still had a beautiful appearance but he was looking more exhausted and paler than usual, there were dark circles under his eyes and he had lost his usual childish also innocent aura. He seemed matured but it was certain that he had to go through many hardships that was forced upon him to grow up faster. Somehow, it hurted to see her precious Arthit suffer and endure so much till now. Her chest tighened as if a heavy pressure was put onto it, the pain was unbearable. None of this would have happened if he was still Burma's crown prince. She had to admit that their father, the Emperor, was harsh on him sometimes but he was pampered by their mother, the Queen, as the crown prince. Now he was considered as a nobody without a family in Siam.

Yoon still remembered the day Siam's Emperor came to visit her on her fateful night in the dungeon before she would to drink poison to die with her already stillbirth child. He said that he had taken Arthit as Siam Emperor's concubine, that it was the only solution for him to stay alive and protect him. She was angry at first to learn that Burma's crown prince would have to live as a concubine of their enemy country but she was also delighted that there was hope for her only brother. She didn't fear death anymore when she found out that her brother would be in good care by Kongpob. With the heavy burden lifted off her shoulders, she decided to die lonely but apparantly, it wasn't time for her to die as Kongpob gave her another option to die as Burma's first princess also Philippines crown princess but live as a new person, a peasant living far away from the city in a secluded area with her beloved one. Despite the two of their imperial family survived, it still broke her heart that their family was broken apart because of Jay. She was about to drop the smile and break down but she decided to stay strong for Arthit instead. If she showed weakness or any glimpse of sadness now, she would unsettle Arthit. It wasn't the right time to make him insecure now duting his pregnancy. Only he could restore the Rojnapats' hope.

Arthit had tears in his eyes as he saw his eldest sister alive and smiling. The light he thought went out and didn't expect would shine at him again, appeared and gave him a new hope. He was so overwhelmed that the words he wanted to say to his sister were stuck in his throat. He opened his mouth to say something but he closed them after few attempts. It seemed that the emotions running through him were too much, maybe he still couldn't believe that Yoon was standing before him alive and apparantly, healthy. The last time he saw her, was the moment she was about to drink poison as punishment that was forced on her. He didn't even witness her close her eyes forever after she drank the poison because Kongpob had make him lose his consciouness as he had desperately tried to save her in his own, weak condition. His lips were tembling but he managed to let some words out, „How... How come... you are alive?"

She hold onto his hands, „Siam Emperor had saved me back then... He had brought me out of my country and the crown prince decided to follow me here, Arthit...", she wanted to tell him about the adventures that happened just shortly before the punishment but she was more eager to know more about her brother. She wanted to hold back her tears and fight against her many feelings since she didn't want to make him cry but she lost the fight and let her tears run wild.

The moment the sentence 'Kongpob saved me back then' reached Arthit's ears, he didn't have his attention on Yoon anymore. As soon as the name came out of her mouth, he felt new light of hope shning in his life. The only thing that mattered to him right now was the name he just heard. He stared at his new hope, his eyes shining cristal clear, a bright smile appearing on his beautiful face, his dimple revealing. Arthit had his arm around his bump then rushed forward to his new light of hope, hugging the only person who was more like his never ending source of happiness and his strength. Only his man Kongpob would be able to give him the things he needed to stay alive and happy. Apparantly, Kong was taken aback by Arthit's action, didn't expect the embrace from his man who was devastated upon seeing his servants dying in front of him that he even refused to come out of his chamber for some days. It seemed that Yoon's appearance did him good.

Arthit crossed his arms tightly around Kong's neck, he closed his eyes but his lips curved up into a smile. Kongpob embraced him back, he was proud that he had brought him to his sister and she managed to bring a smile on his lips again but there was one thing that he failed to see properly. Yoon was not the one who brought back Oon's happiness but he alone. Because he had given up on so much just to hold onto Arthit, he had conjured a smile on his lips. To save Yoon and hid her with Philippines Crown Prince in Siam meant that he had disobeyed Jay and declared a war with him. He went against many odds just for Arthit's sake. Due to his sincere love and his fight for Arthit, did the younger man found his spirit again. Tears rolled down the shorter one's eyes, he cried without giving any sound from him. Kongpob just smiled.

„I will never forget the effort you made for my sake", he gave Kongpob a kiss on his cheek in front of his sister, didn't even care that she was present and witnessed their intimacy. Even though he was overwhelmed with Yoon being alive and wanted to spend many time possible with her, he stil didn't forget to express his gratitude first toward Kong. „You have my sincere gratitude for everything you did for me, Kongpob...", he said while giving him a sweet smile.

Kongpob looked at Yoon, she bowed deep down to express her never ending gratefulness for saving her and her husband also always protecting her younger brother. Kong nodded once to accept her feelings. Only after he had say the words he had in his mind to Kongpob, did Arthit return to his sister. With a big grin on her red lips, Yoon teased her brother that he had found a precious gem that was beyond price who would do everything for him. Arthit blushed deep red in embarrassment but he still nodded that he agreed with her. The crown prince Lualhati Liwanag of Philippines and Emperor Kongpob refused Yoon's invitation to have tea together with them, they wanted their beloved ones to spent time with each other and catch up with the things they had missed in this many months. The two siblings went in the wooden hut, leaving their two men behind to have a discussion among themselves. The first thing Arthit did when entering the house was to muster the state Yoon was in in their hideout. The wooden hut was not big enough that it only contained two sleep chambers, a living chamber and a kitchen, as if it was built for just two persons. Even though it was small, it still contained the necessaries one needed to survive in a secluded area but it wasn't still comparable to the prosperous lives they had as the crown prince and crown princess. Arthit pitied the sad changes in her life but as his sister gave him a big grin, he concealed his worries and sadness to not make her hate her current living condition. He returned the smile.

Yoon brought Arthit in the living chamber, prepared for hot tea then sat down opposite to her brother. She grabbed at his hands and put a smile on her beautiful, young face that had a faint teint of skin. Actually, she had pale skin like Arthit but, apparantly, she lost her pale colour due to her being indepedent and working without any maid around to help her with her needs. Both siblings stayed quiet for a long while, they had many things to talk about but both didn't know where to begin. Too much happened to them in these months they were seperated, both good and bad experiences that words alone wouldn't suffice to describe their feelings. After a while of silence, Arthit decided to break the silence first.

„I can't describe how I feel to see you alive... I... I thought you were dead...", his eyes were shining when he remembered the day he thought he had lost the last member of his family.

She shook her head, „Thanks to Siam Emperor I'm still alive and have a comfortable life with my husband. I can't complain... Arthit, it's a condition I never had when I was the princess or the crown princess...". She looked around in her new home, „I can finally be myself with the one I love. No one is here to control my life, there is no power struggle here like in the palace, I don't need to fight for my life either and I don't have any duties put upon me. Even though I miss my people and my freedom is limited, I stil prefer this life as a simple housewife without any status. Besides, I have everything here, I planted fruits and vegetables in my garden, there are guards who are always protecting me and I can occassionaly visit the city sometimes... A life between a housewife and her peasant of husband isn't bad but quiet comfortable..."

„But still..."

Yoon shook her head and interrupted before Oon could complete his sentence. „I'm satisfied with my current state and I don't ask for more...", she spoke but she sounded determined as never before.

Arthit had his eyes on his sister, he finally recognized a certain happiness that he didn't see in her as long as he was born. He believed her that she was satisfied with her condition even if it wasn't perfect like the one she had back then in Burma and then in Philippines. He decided to let go of that matter but he fell silent when he looked down and didn't see her bump. It's not there anymore... His hand touched his own bump. But it's here in me instead... Yoon had lost her baby due to the struggle she had to go through as Jay took the crown in Burma and wanted to get rid of every member of the family Rojnapat. Now that I am expecting a baby myself, I can't picture a life without my baby. She must be in pain after losing her first born she waited for so many years. How did you manage to bear the pain, sister Yoon? How did you feel when you touched your bump but didn't feel any baby forming or his heart beating inside you? He felt shudder running down his spine when thinking about his own baby. Now that he had see his sister alive, he was more than eager to protect his child. He didn't want to remind her of her bad experiences so he never talked about it.

However, Yoon could sense that he was thinking about her child. She reached her hand out to his bump but she froze on the spot. „Can I?", she asked for permission first.

The younger brother took her hand and placed it gently on his bump, she caressed it slowly. At that moment, the baby moved in his belly as if he/she could fell his/her aunt being there. It moved nonstop, each move fluent, flawless and full of joy. The baby's eagerness to show off in front of his/her aunt brought joy in her life, she smiled brightly. Tears of joy also of sadness dripped down her eyes. Of course, she was missing her child who didn't have the chance to be born in this world but she was delighted to see her Arthit have the chance she didn't have.

„Please take care of yourself and your child. Your baby is the only member who can bring honour to our family..."

„I will... I know that he's the only hope to restore our famly but eldest sister, I don't want him to grow up with so much hatred like I'm doing right now... I want him to have a normal life without any power struggle, fear and assassination attempts on him", it was his deepest wish for his child. Even if the baby would be born as Siam's royalty and be caught up in the schemes happening in the palace, he still desired to raise him/ her with so much love possible and far away from any threats. Their child shouldn't be mingled in the power struggle, neither found out about Jay or the Empress dowager . The important thing the child had to know was where he came from, from Burma and Siam. He would have revenge on Jay and get rid of the threats on their way before the baby would be born in this world. „I will be the one to avenge our parents and sisters!", he was determined despite him feeling week right now. His big eyes were reflecting the hatred he felt for Jay and the Empress dowager.

Yoon denied him, she realized that her brother had misunderstood her. Arthit's child would be the only one to restore their family's honour since so it wouldn't mean the end of the Rojnapat but she didn't want her brother to bring justice to their family. Jay had killed her parents and younger sisters, also forced Oon out of Burma and attempted on her life but she didn't want any revenge. Revenge would always lead to more revenge, it was like a never ending vicious circle. Somehow she was shocked about Arthit's current situation. Her younger brother was a sweet, innocent child who hated violence, unfairness, treason and power conflict but here he was, talking about revenge. It wasn't like him. Just what happened to him during her absence that he changed so much that she couldn't even recognize the innocent child in him anymore? She wanted him to forget his hatred or revenge. Besides, she had the same wish like him. His child should be raised up in a area without anyone attempting on his life. However, since the baby would be a child of Siam Emperor, it would be difficult to raise it far away from those power hungry officials or other royalties.

„Forget your hate and revenge, Oon... I want you to have a comfortable life where I can be at ease and think that you're fine."

Oon let go of her hand, clenching his hands into fists. He spoke through gritted teeth, „I can't forget everything I went through eldest sister. You can forgive them for destroying your life but I can't forgive them. You weren't there as Jay killed everyone in the palace neither as the Empress dowager assassinated my servants to punish me. I can't forgive myself that I was so blinded, clueless and only thought of my feelings. I made countless mistakes that resulted in many deaths...", he looked at his palm, could see blood staining his pale skin. There were so many callusses on his beautiful, smooth skin after he had tried to wash away the blood of his dead maids that had on his hands. Because of him, did many servants lose their life. As if he didn't learn from his past, he still continued to bring danger to people important to him. Even if the death of his maids wasn't his fault, he still regretted not taking the dowager serious. Just because they had confined her in her own palace, he had thought that they had finally subdued her. What a grave mistake! A mistake he would never turn the time back to undo it!

After Arthit had mentioned about the mistakes he did in the past, did Yoon notice that his rage wasn't directed at Jay or at the certain Empress Dowager but at himself. Something happened back then that he couldn't forgive himself for. Just like she assumed already, Arthit couldn't forgive himself that he had escaped from the palace as Kong had broken up with him since he was captured many months ago in Burma. Because be had run away and he was empoisoned by assassins on his way, everyone was eager to save him that they weren't careful enough to observe their fiends. Besides, Kongpob had also left to bring back the antidote from Siam. If he had stayed in the palace, none of the treason would succeed. But if he wasn't driven out of his own country, his parents would never accept a relationship between him and the Emperor of Siam because they were enemies since a century ago. Sometimes, he couldn't let go of the thought that fate was playing with them when seeing how their sudden meeting from almost 5 years ago resulted in good and bad experiences. As if fate wanted them together at any cost, it did everything to bring them back together every time they went seperate ways for a while. Arthit had to admit that he couldn't image a life without his man but destiny didn't have to tear his family out of his life to have him be together with Kong. Only his love for Kongpob and their unborn child were giving him strength to accept and embrace this fate. He would stay with Kongpob till the day he died but he would fight against the odds too.

Yoon stood up and took Arthit in a tight hug, the latter seemed desperate, scared and helpless for an unknwon reason. Even though he had Singto, a home and his pregnancy, he still lacked something he couldn't explain either. Yoon wanted to be there for him, take always his hatred and sorrows and lead him to the right, bright path so he would have his pure innocence back and be the old Arthit who would forgive everyone. She would do everything to have her sweet brother who despised violence back. For first, she had to listen to his stories and comfort him.

Meanwhile Kongpob and Liwanag were walking in the garden where various vegetables and fruits were planted by the now peasants Liwanag and Yoon. Even though Liwanag had lost his royal status after feigning his death and was grateful that Kongpob had gave them a new life, he didn't lose his honour as a crown prince in front of Siam's ruler. His speech and his movement were fluent like a graceful, well educated and respected crown prince as he really was. He didn't let Kongpob's higher status intimidate him, something that the Emperor was grateful for since he could talk to Liwanag like a good acquantaince. The young men had their arms wrapped behind their back, walking side by side while talking. They were discussing about their futures from now on.

****

Arthit broke the hug with his eldest sister Yoon, he slightly bowed down to bid farewell with Liwanag. After they had discussed about the important matters they had to release from their minds, Kongpob had interrupted them that the sun was going down already and they had to leave for the palace. The shorter one didn't want to leave his sister behind but he couldn't stay here either for two reasons. First, their fiends would suspect about his whereabout if he didn't return. Seconds, he could put Yoon and Liwanag in danger with him staying here. If he didn't want to cause any more casualties for them then he had to depart for the imperial city.

Their carriage was far away from the wooden hut, Kongpob and Arthit had to walk over there. Besides, Arthit felt the need to have some fresh air so he wanted to walk over there instead of riding on horses. Somehow, he felt refreshed after seeing Yoon and spending time with her so he was beginning to have his energy and motivation to keep fighting back. Liwanag and Yoon bowed down to Siam's ruler, the two younger men took the direction to their people who were waiting for them. On their way to the carriage, the shorter one looked behind to his sister then gave her a faint smile. She had to force a smile on her lips, somehow she couldn't bear to see him leave again, alone among the corrupted Siam's officials. The last time she had left him in Burma, something bad happened to him. Now she had the same premonition again as if she wouldn't see him ever again if she left him alone in the hungry den full of power conflicts. It was hard for her to stay there comfortably while he would have to fight against his enemies to survive. Tears fell down her eyes, Liwanag leaned his arm around her waist then he pulled her gently to his side, he fell deep in thought. He felt her pain, couldn't watch his lively wife cry upon seeing her only family fighting to survive. There must be something they could do for Kongpob and Arthit. They saved them but they were helpless to support them.

Kongpob and Arthit arrived in front of the carriage, their royal guards bowed down at them as greeting then surrounded them to ensure their safety, however, they were maintaining a space toward the Emperor and the male concubine. The taller man hold onto his man then wanted to help him to climb in the carriage but a voice shooting in the air interrupted them.

„Please wait for your humble subject, Emperor...", a voice said not far away from them.

Arthit and Kongpob recognized the voice, it was a sweet female voice that could lift away the slightest doubt in people's heart. They turned behind only to see a smiling woman standing in front of them, she was holding a big silk fabric where she had put her clothes in.

The woman bowed down to them, „Please take me with you...", Yoon pleaded.

Kongpob and Arthit were flabbergasted at first, they didn't understand the situation till now. They exchanged a look then gazed at Yoon again, she still had the beautiful smile on her face. The ruler stole a look of Arthit, the latter couldn't hold back his smile anymore, the smile was so bright that it almost blinded the former. Arthit revealed his dimple on his cheek, something that made Kong's heart skip a beat. It was a really gorgeous smile but also a deadly weapon of Arthit that could kill him someday. How many days didn't I see his dimpled smile? I missed it so much... His smile and happiness is my everything. I'm happy as long as you are, Arthit...

„Prepare for the maid's departure with us", Kongpob thought of an idea already. It was high-risk since she could be discovered as Philippine's crown princess who was supposed dead but he would dare to take the high risk. He would do everything for Arthit's happiness, he wanted him to keep his sweet smile he showed him just now. Besides, they could consider themselves lucky that Yoon wasn't seen by many court officials back then as a Burmese princess so their plan could suceed if they were careful. He just had to nod to accept her plead to accompany them, „...Prepare for the new maid to enter the carriage...", actually a maid should never sit together with their Emperor but Kong would never force his beloved man's sister to walk the rough way back to the imperial capital. Arthit would be restless if his sister had to walk while he would enjoy the comfortable break in the carriage. Even if it was against the law, Kongpob was the absolute law and could change it according to his will.

The guards were speechless when listening to the order so none of them did move to carry out the order. Kongpob desired to please Arthit but the latter was worried. He wasn't worried not only about his sister's identity being discovered under her special treatments but he was more worried about Kongpob's sanity being questioned. If he was giving a mere subject and him too much freedom, they would begin to talk behind his back how he had lost his marbles. As a ruler, he should follow some laws to prevent rumours running behind his back.

„Let the maid ride the horse...", Arthit decided in his stead.

Kongpob gazed at Arthit, he seemed lost since he didn't expect the younger man to decide for Yoon's disavantage. Arthit knew what he was doing. He would always be grateful for Kong for saving and always protecting him, also for saving Yoon but he wouldn't let him ruin his reputation for him. Yoon was his beloved sister but Kongpob was his man he would spent the rest of his life with. He had to protect him too. If he didn't protect him from his enemies then no one would do it. Kongpob had only him and needed him too!

„Don't let her frail appearance fool you... Trust me, my eldest sister is just as fierce as me... She can ride a horse better than I...", he whispered in his ear, a smile appeared on his red lips.

The Emperor stared at Arthit, wondering if the latter was just plain ignorant or if he was too blind to realize that his appearance was deceiving too. He looked frail like a sickly young man but he was strong and could kill if he was serious enough. Besides, his dimpled smile was his weapon he could use to wrap a man around his finger. Yoon and Arthit resembled each other in various many, especially their way of speaking, their funny character with hints of pureness and innocence. They had their way to take one's sorrow away and know how to deceive their fiends with their weak appearances. No wonder, they were the only ones who could make the former Emperor of Burma rip his hair in despair with their mischief and humor. Now Kong could understand why Arthit and Yoon got along among the many siblings.

„Do as concubine Oon say...", the head eunuch Oak gave the command, trying to satisfy his two master's wishes.

A guard gave Yoon a shining white horse, she smiled brightly at the animal then patted on its stomach, whispering her true name to the horse. She wasn't angry at her brother for rejecting Kong's offer but was more happy that he hold him back from treating her special. This special treatments could bring many jealousy among the servants and kill her in the palace. From now on, he should forget her past as Burma's first princess and Philippine's crown princess. From today on, she was a simple maid, a subject for Siam's male concubine. She would stay beside her brother till he had regained his old self and could lead a life without dangers in the palace. The guard hold onto the horse's reign then gave her a hand to help her climb on the horse. She didn't take the guard's hand but managed to jump on the horse with a single graceful move. Right now, Kongpob got the confirmation for his assumption that Arthit resembled his eldest sister very much.

Kongpob offered his hand to Arthit, this time the shorter one accepted it and let himself be helped in the carriage. Before Arthit disappeared inside the carriage, he gave his man a kiss on his cheek. For the first time in his life, Kongpob blushed deep red in embarrassment. His mind exploded in thousand pieces after feeling Arthit's smooth red lips on his cheek, the kiss burned his skin hot. He shuddered, sharp sensation vibrated through his entire body. Actually, Kongpob didn't feel shy before, not even in his subjects' presence whenever he was next to Arthit. However, in this moment, he couldn't help but blush with Oon's presence also the flirtatious advances he was sending toward him.

The Emperor looked back at Liwanag, bowed down slightly to express his gratitude for allowing his wife to accompany them. Don't worry crown prince, I'll protect her just like I would protect Arthit. I will bring her back to you after everything is over! It was a promise that he would keep.

****

Of course when they arrived in the palace, Yoon would have to wear a veil to hide her face while walking through the gate and surprise the three soldiers who had survived the treason happening in Burma's palace. These three loyal subjects would be the maid Maprang, Knott and Bright. They would be surprised to see the first princess be alive, Bright would even faint from schock. Despite them being overjoyed to see their princess survived, they still would have to play along, hide her identity and treat her as a lowly servant from now on. Even if it was a very difficult task to do, they have to do it to protect her and Arthit.

****

A few weeks later, servant Yoon was alread accustomed to Siam's people, culture, especially the absolute laws that had to be maintained between the maids in the palace. In her first day, she had witnessed the harsh treatments the second and third concubine were given her brother who was hated due to him being the powerful Emperor's favourite. Yoon was always a well respected and educated lady with manners but she could be fierce if someone did her brother wrong. It didn't matter to her if she was treated harshly but she couldn't accept it if the hatred was turned toward her only family. However, she had to maintain her calmness to not cause Arthit any worries.

Besides, Arthit refused to receive her help since he didn't want her to be targetted by the Dowager or the concubines. According to himself, he had brought her in the palace to support him mentally and not fight for his justice. If his enemies had found out that he was treating her differently than the other servants, they would get suspicious of their odd relationship and target her instead to punish him. However, since Yoon was well reserved and never attacked in the front but only in the background, she had studied all of the concubines' behaviours to find their weaknesses and use them against them later if the time had come for them to shine out of the darkness. As long as the concubines were a threat for Arthit's health and his baby, she would search for the solution to create a peaceful world at least for him. she had lost her status as the crown princess but her brother deserved a better life than the one he was getting in Siam's palace.

Arthit was bestowed a new mansion that was more grand than the flower palace, it was called the „gentle palace". The name was given to it because it was where the sun raised up first and the bright morning light shone brighter. Kong gave him that place because he wanted him to have a new mansion where he could enjoy gentle warmth and breeze everyday, it would cause a good atmosphere for him and their unborn baby. It was also the place where where Kongpob had grew up and been living for years after his mother was killed. The reason why Kong gave him a new place to live was because he didn't want him to return in the flower palace where all of his servants were massacred. That mansion was still reeking of blood, surely the souls of the maids who died unfairly would remain and lurk there, it would bring them misfortunes. Besides, he didn't want his man to relive unnecessary, sad memories that he had preferred to bury for now.

Earlier in the morning, Yoon and Maprang were in the male concubine's chamber with Arthit laying on his bed, his raising bump was revealed to the open public. Pitcher was there too, he was caressing the bump. He was called over this morning due to Arthit having some light pain in his belly after waking up. Emperor Kongpob had a morning court so he couldn't be present there himself. Because Arthit had talked to Yoon about all of his problems in the palace, she already knew about Pitcher's nature so she was observing him the whole time he was treating her brother. She didn't threat him with words or weapons but remained rather calm, her sharp eyes following every of his steps. One would think that she was more lenient than Arthit but not doing anything and observing someone with your eyes could be considered as torture too since one would never know when she would attack. Pitcher was calm on the outside but he felt intimidated by her gazes, he asked himself how such a lovely, fine lady could send threats through her eyes, just like Kongpob. He was questioning her identity, wasn't convinced that she was a new maid with a low birth title. The aura that was surrounding her, was powerful as if she was someone who had learned how to surpress someone under her. For him, she was not a simple maid like everyone was treating her.

Arthit seemed tired, he closed his eyes many times and fell asleep during the controll. Now that his sister was there for him, he wasn't afraid that Pitcher could do something to him while the Emperor was absent. Pitcher took his hand over the male concubine's stomach and wanted to cover Arthit's naked bump with the clothes but Yoon was faster, pulled his hands away and covered her brother herself. She nodded to him with a smile on her lips then she went aside to stand there like an innocent maid who didn't act rude just a while ago. The sudden movement pulled the male concubine gently out of his sleep.

Pitcher chuckled at Yoon's behaviour but he hide his chuckle as Arthit woke up. He stood up and smiled at him, „No need to worry, concubine Oon. It's a natural pain that's caused by the pregnancy... You're near labor and the symptoms of premature labor are already showing."

A small smile appeared on Arthit's lips, he was relieved that his baby was safe but also happy to hear that he was getting near labor now. Yoon couldn't hold back a smile, she wipped the tears away with her sleeve, Maprang was relieved too but she didn't show it. She preferred to show her emotions when she was alone in her chamber where she could act as herself. Before Oon could express his gratitude, they noticed a loud commotion coming from outside of the palace. Maprang went there to find out more about the commotion. Arthit wanted to stand up as soon as he recognized the voice of the one shooting loud, causing the havoc. Yoon helped him to stand up, they didn't realize that Pitcher was oserving them the whole time. The taller man nodded that he had found something interesting after observing the way Arthit and Yoon were interacting. Their body languages and choice of words differed from the way Arthit was talking to his servants, as if Yoon and him were acquaintances of years.

Arthit joined Maprang outside, his sister was following him closely from behind. Just like he had assumed, he saw the Empress Dowager's head maid standing there and discussing with his new maids that she had an important message from the Dowager. As soon as Arthit came out of his chamber, the servants went to their knees respectfully but the head maid remained straight on her feet, holding her head high and looking down on the male concubine.

„Bow down to me before you speak!", he gave a clear order, not minding the rude behaviour of a lowly servant. He choose to use his commanding voice to show her her place instead. She was many rank under him so he could always punish her for disrespecting her even if she was the high Dowager's favourite gossiper and spy.

The head maid felt intimidated by the concubine's fierce gaze on her and commanding voice. He was emitting a strong aura that was like a warning to his enemies that they shouldn't take him lightly like they did before. She was asking herself where he received the sudden strength to keep fighting after having lost all of his servants. She remembered the punishment Oon had caused for the first concubine who dared to lay her hand on him. Since she didn't want to end crippled like the first concubine, she had to show respect to him. Her knees were trembling in fear, she clenched her hands in fists but she ended up going on her knees and bowing her head down. „I beg the concubine's mercy for my rude behaviour toward concubine Oon. I deserve a severe punishment."

„Enough of your speech! You may rise your head and speak!", another came from Arthit.

Yoon was so proud of her brother that she almost jumped and clapped in joy. She didn't know that he could be so strong without Kongpob after the misfortunes he went through. Little did she notice yet that her brother had found his motivation back after meeting her and Kongpob had showed his love through his sweet actions. The Emperor went against many odds just for his sake and his happiness so he shouldn't live in despair, put himself and the baby in danger and bring Kongpob's works into dust. The death of his maids was unfortunate but he deserved to be happy with his man and the little family they would built soon. He didn't want to dwell in the past too long and lose his happiness or else he would give the Dowager the victory she had desired.

„The Empress Dowager is seeking for the concubine's presence in her private pavillon before the sun raise completely...", she delivered the message.

Arthit accepted the message and ordered her to leave for now. She hold her head down before she stood up and walked backward respectfully. As she came out of the exit, she looked back and cursed under her breath then dashed back to her master to deliver Oon's unfair treatments toward her. Yoon advised her brother not to go there because she sensed that something was strange about the Dowager's order. The Dowager had ignored him for weeks but was seeking for his audience all the sudden. It was too obvious that she had another plan she was plotting against him. Instead of listening to his sister, Arthit explained Yoon that the situation would get worse if he didn't appear there like she asked of him. Because he didn't want his maids to die for his mistakes again, he decided to go there.

After he had prepared for another fight, he made himself appear more handsome with the new smooth clothes he had bought not long ago. He looked dazzling in his red attire, his big round eyes were shining, his beautiful face and his handsome features were standing out too much. Surely, the concubines and the Dowager would hate him if he appeared this strong, handsome, beautiful, proud and over confident in front of them. Before he left the gentle palace, he had to promise Yoon that he would be careful. Of course, she would follow him and be there for him but she wouldn't do much if they attacked him. Together with his sister, Maprang, few maids and soldiers, Arthit took the way to the Dowager's pavillon.

Arthit arrived near the pavillon, the sun was blazzing strong today that it even caused some maid to lost consciouness due to the heat. The Empress Dowager, Empress Prae and the two concubines were sitting under the pavillon, protecting themselves from the blazzing sun while the poor maids had to remain directly under the sun and fighting against it. Arthit didn't like the way they were treating the subjects with lower ranks. Even if they were trained harshly to stand straight under such weather, they were still human being who would suffer under such hard conditions. He would like to help them but he didn't have enough power yet. He barely had the power to protect himself, his unborn child and his few maids.

There were six lucky servants who could stand under the pavillon behind their masters, four of them were the head manager of the servants and the head maid of the Dowager and also the ones of the Empress. The two others were the head managers of the two concubines. The table was filled with pastries, hot steaming tea and other sweets food. Arthit finally arrived in front of them, he wanted to step under the pavillon but the same head maid of the Dowager from early prevented him from taking a step to them as the Dowager sipped on her hot tea.

„Stop right there!", the head maid ordered. She came in front of Oon and smirked, „...I beg your pardon but concubine Oon is not worthy to stand around our mighty Empress Dowager", she said proudly. Surely, it was her getting back at him for embarrassing her earlier.

The Empress was impressed that a mere head maid dared to speak disrespectfully to one of the Emperor's concubines. She stood up to raise her voice at her but the Dowager shot her a look that sent shiver down Prae's spine. Prae wasn't easily afraid but the look the Dowager gave her just now was full of hostile intent. If she didn't want her to lose her position as the new Empress and put Oon in more danger then she had to let him handle the situation himself.

„This is the absolute rule of the Empress Dowager. A mere concubine with a low birth title don't have permission to trespass this line!", she pointed her finger at the frame of the entry. Her smirk turned brighter, „Besides, we don't have enough place under the pavillon and pot to prepare for tea!"

The male concubine remained quiet, he didn't say anything but he had already realized the little show the Dowager had planned just for him. He looked around under the pavillon, this place was build grand enough to have twenty people standing under it. Besides there were at least four more places if the concubines, Empress and Dowager were to shift aside but they had to let a big gap between their seats. Surely, the older woman had planed to let him stand under the shining sun so he would be a human attraction. If he lost his consciouness then she would question his endurance and call him weak. The concubines were chuckling, talking that a mere concubine without powerful background didn't deserve to be the Emperor's wife. Oon just reached his hand out to Maprang, she brought a script scroll out of her sleeve and opened it to let it be revealed to the audience.

„The mighty Emperor had bestowed me a higher rank as... The Imperial Noble Consort!", he announced to the audience who had intended to use his low title to look down on him.

The two concubines were unlady like that they chocked on their food, coughed or puked the food out. The Dowager was grossed by their unlady like behaviour but she had her attention on her enemy instead. Her eyes were fierce and sharper than ever before. None of them could believe this unexpected grand surprise until they saw the red Emperor's seal on the script roll. There was an order on the script roll, saying that concubine Oon was given the title as the only Imperial noble consort. Even Prae was surprised. She didn't expect it from the Emperor and his man, they didn't even notify her beforehand. Although she was disappointed thaty had hidden such information from her, she was still happy that concubine Oon had the power to fight for himself and his servants now. I'm envious of the Emperor and his man... They are many steps ahead of me in their relationship... She stole a look of Maprang who was among the male concubine's maids, yearning for her love, her full attention, her touch and her body. She sighed inwardly, was desperate about her boring love life. Will you ever notice me some day, Maprang? One thing didn't she know that time, Maprang realized the Empress's eyes on her whereupon she frowned in confusion. She too stole a look of the Empress from the side.

The two concubines were trembling upon hearing the new order: concubine Oon was bestown the high rank as Imperial noble consort, now he was just under the Dowager and the Empress but he was also several ranks over them. Meaning he could punish them whenever he wanted. They remembered the past, all of the troubles they had brought for the male concubine. Now that he was more powerful than them, the concubines and many servants feared for their life. Actually, they had thought that the first concubine would be the Imperial noble consort untill she was sent away from the palace after she had received their punishment for tainting one of the Emperor's wives. Everyone was sure that one of the two concubines would get the rank but they were all wrong.

Without waiting for the older woman's order, Arthit just went under the pavillon then ordered the same head maid to bring him a stool to seat on it. He sat on his right place right left to the Dowager. An odd silence developed among them, heavy tension laid in the atmosphere, it was hard to breath under this heavy tension. The pitiful servants were desperate, they didn't know how to act properly under this situation untill the Dowager spoke.

„What are you waiting for?", she sent deadly glares toward her head maid. „Prepare hot tea and pastries for Imperial noble consort!", she commanded with a sharp tone that was so high that it almost broke the glasses into many pieces.

The head maid ran in the kitchen, brought a set of cup with pastries along, placed them on the Imperial noble consort's front and poured hot tea for him. However, Arthit stared in the small cup. He didn't drink the tea or ate the sweets. It was obvious that they had poisoned the drink, seeing how they took few minutes to prepare the food for him. At first, they told him that they didn't have place neither cups to serve him but now they didn't spent much to prepare for his food, as if they had prepared for unexpected events to happen. Besides, he was more careful around her since Kongpob had warned him about her. According to Kongpob, she knew about his pregnancy and would do everything in her might to get rid of the new, little threat. It was to their disanvantage that she had found out about their baby but he had to remain rational and think before acting for now on.

Seeing how reluctant Arthit was to drink and eat the poisoned food that should get rid of the baby, the Empress Dowager almost spat in anger. She clenched onto her clothes, wrinkling it on one side. Arthit remained calm but he felt strange on the inside, as if something important to him was fighting against his/her life. As if he would lose someone. His heart beated faster, there was a sharp pain in his chest, he couldn't stay calm at all, his whole body was trembling but he tried to hide his insecurity. Before the Dowager could mutter a word, an eunouch ran to them, fell to his knee and bowed down many times. There were many tears rolling down the eunuch's face, he couldn't stay silent for a moment.

„Empress Dowager... The Emperor... The Emperor...", the eunuch sobbed but couldn't find the braveness to let out the words that were stuck in his throat.

Arthit's heart almost jumped out of his chest as soon as he heard Kongpob being mentioned, he stood up immediately and stared at the eunuch. Praepailin followed his example and stood up too, ordering the eunuch to speak instead of scaring them with his sobbings. Meanwhile the Dowager didn't react or say anything at all.

„The Emperor was poisoned and lost his consciouness...", the eunuch bowed down, hitting his head against the hard ground while crying in despair.

The younger man lost his balance and nearly fell backward but Prae wrapped her arm around his back to prevent him from falling down. She supported him to stand straight at his feet.

„Lead the way to the Emperor!", the older woman ordered her head manager.

Together with her servants and the two worried concubines, the Empress Dowager left for the Emperor's palace. Praepailin took care of the weak male Imperial noble consort first who was about to faint, Yoon ran to her brother and supported him too. They decided to take him back in his palace but he brushed them off and dashed forward. He tripped on his long attire due to his carelessness but he ignored his weak condition. Yoon and Maprang followed him closely, he even refused to be held by these two to walk properly. Even if he was staggering forward, he still insisted on walking alone.

Before they disappeared from their sight, Maprang stared back to the Empress, the latter stole a look of the maid at the same time whereupon their eyes met. The Empress turned shy, she gulped hard in fear that the young servant had noticed her feelings for her. However, she was surprised at Maprang's next reaction. The strong maid just bowed her head down to her, mumbling the words of gratitude for helping the Imperial noble consort as he had lost his balance a moment ago. Praepailin's eyes widened in shock, she was in a trance like state. Her face flushed red all the sudden, she felt hot, her body temperature raised the more she was thinking about Maprang giving her the attention she was seeking for. Her lips curved up, a faint smile appeared. Only after the head manager called to her, did she change her expression and make a serious face instead. The Empress and the rest of the maids followed them to the Emperor's grand palace.

The Emperor's subjects, among them the maids, the eunuchs and royal guards also some high officials, were gathered outside of the Emperor's palace and were bowing down while praying to the gods to save their ruler. Arthit wanted to enter Kongpob's chamber but several imperial guards blocked his path, holding their swords in front of him.

„Pardon this subject's rudeness but we don't have permission to let concubine Oon to enter the Emperor's chamber", one of the guards who were blocking his path said. Those were one of the thousand guards who didn't hear yet that the Emperor had given a new rank to the fifth concubine as Imperial noble consort.

Arthit knew that he wasn't the Empress or the Dowager so he would never get the permission as a concubine to enter Kongpob's chamber but he was the one Kongpob loved. They were aware of the facts how much their ruler loved him so they should let him be beside him in this moment but they still refused to let him in. He decided to force himself through the thick wall of soldiers standing before him, pushing himself forward many times but the guards remained glued on their places. The head eunuch Oak dashed to Arthit then bowed down to apologize.

„I beg for mercy from Imperial noble consort but the guards are doing their task. The higher officials and the royal physician Wad are beside the Emperor right now... And... And... the", Oak didn't dare to continue to give an answer. There was something dangerous staring at him.

Arthit's hands trembled in shock, he opened his mouth many times to say something but the words refused to be said. The enemies are beside my Kongpob while he's in an unconscious state? They will use the chance to assassinate him! He didn't even care that Wad was there to protect him. If the court officials, his fiends, were there then Wad, the lower ranked physician, wouldn't even be given the chance to defend the helpless Kong. I have to be there for him... Kongpob needs me... Arthit was desperate now, he caused a commotion by trying to force his way through the thick wall of soldiers but the well trained guards refused to budge from their position. They were taken back by surprise for a second that concubine Oon was the Imperial noble consot now but they shook their fear away and continued to defend their guards.

Oak looked around then noticed the eyes and ears of many spies who were among the subjects around them. He could be betrayed if he said something bad about the person he was going to mention so he whispered as low as he could. He came closer to Arthit without laying his hand on the Emperor's wife, „The Empress Dowager came a moment ago and gave the order to not let anyone enter the chamber... Please, stay strong and wait for the Empress's arrival to take you to the Emperor...", it wasn't an order but an advice.

Arthit was grateful for the little advice so he had to wait for his last hope, the Empress. She was the only one who was on his side. When speaking of the devil, Praepailin arrived in the grand palace. She witnessed the scenes of the soldiers holding Arthit back from going further to his man.

„Stop right there!", her loud voice resounded in the entire courtyard, sucking everyone's attention with her shriek. She stomped forward. Slap! She slapped one of the soldiers on the cheek. It don't look good for us. The Emperor has only lost his consciouness and the hungry wolves are showing their fangs already. It would be hard for me to protect the Imperial noble consort in his stead once the Emperor's condition detoriates. The Emperor shouldn't die or they'll kill Oon and drive me out of the palace! „How dare you touch the Emperor's wife!", she glared at everyone around her, shooting warning toward their enemies that they shouldn't dare to touch Oon while she was still there or they would be punished with death. She hold onto Oon's hand then led him inside the Emperor's chamber.

Yoon, Maprang, bright and Prem were worried about Oon but they couldn't follow him there. Now, Arthit was on his own and had to fight for his Kongpob. Yoon had a bad feeling again. She was more worried about her brother, praying that the gods would always protect him.

As soon as they stepped in the spacious chamber, the first thing they noticed was the gloomy, suffocating atmosphere in the air. There were ten highest court officials beside the bed where the unconscious Emperor was laying. Wad was sweating in despair, he was feeling the ruler's pulse. It was weak, very hard to feel. The Dowager glared at Arthit for daring to be here then at the Empress for bringing the male concubine here. Arthit ignored the evil eyes set on him and just approached Kongpob. The young Emperor who looked strong, powerful and fierce all the time was a weak human being who was fighting for his life. Actually, he had a stoned skin but he looked pale right now, his breathing shallow that one would miss it if he didn't listen to it carefully. Big beads of sweat were forming and dripping down from his forehead, he clearly had a high temperature. Kongpob knitted his temple, made a pained expression and moaned in pain too.

„Can you tell me what's really happening to the Emperor?", the premier minister asked, he sounded agitated than ever before. He was even more agitated and scared as the day his only daughter, Kaofang, was driven out of the palace.

„The Emperor is poisoned... But unfortunately, I can't recognize the poison the Emperor is fighting against...", Wad muttered faintly. He was angry at his incompetence that he failed to recognize the poison. It was the second time that he failed to save the Emperor.

Arthit frowned again. There were only the thought of saving Kong in his mind so he just went there without thinking for his action first, took the small cup that was on the table then smelt on it. The cup had changed its original colour to blue. Arthit let the cup down, it smashed to pieces on the ground. Everyone in the chamber were confused but they were also waiting for his answer to explain his odd behaviour. Because Arthit had to learn about many poison back then in Burma, he recognized that poison. It was the poison of the the deadly blue tarantula of Burma. Why Burma again? He was suspicious since this poison came from Burma, just like the time the female spy hit Kongpob as the latter saved him from a poisoned arrow.

„It's the blue tarantual poison of Burma...", Arthit answered.

How? Why did he know about the poison again? It didn't happen once but twice that he could recognize a poison I, the royal physician, didn't know about. And they were only poison from Burma. What is his relation to the country Burma? Wad was suspicious of the Imperial noble consort but he didn't voice his thought out loud either. He remained calm but he stared at the consort carefully.

„How did you know that it's this poison? So far as I know, the blue tarantula is a rare specie from Burma...", she said, narrowed her sharp eyes to glare at Arthit even more. Now that she had mentioned the question, everyone in the room were suspecting him. However, only Prae didn't have ill thought toward him. She knew that there were more than the eyes meet to this story.

The young man couldn't give an answer to this question. Of course, he knew about it since it came from his home but he couldn't tell them the truth. The people here were from his enemy country Siam, there were more of them outside hating Burma. If he was to identify himself as Burmese, they would seize him as a spy and throw him in the dungeon. Now, that scene came too familiar. Something like that happened several months ago to Kongpob too in Burma. He was locked up in the dungeon as a Siamese spy. Now, the same thing was happening to him too. If he wasn't careful enough, the enemies would win with their conspiracy against him. He had to save himself out of this situation or else Kong would be thrown in the lion's dungeon with hungry lions trying to devour him if he was locked up. He stuttered, he had hard time to explain the matter but his silence was raising the suspecion on him.

„Why won't you answer me?", the Dowager raised her voice. She sounded like a mother who was worried about the Emperor but Arthit saw a small smirk on her lips when speaking to him.

„It's...", Praepailin came between them, wanted to break the conversation to help Oon out of the situatin but the Dowager interrupted her.

The older woman raised her hand, giving her a fierce glare. „I didn't ask YOU, Empress. I am asking the Imperial noble consort!"

„I didn't do anything!", he said with a serious expression and voice.

„Strange... Why are you defending yourself even though I didn't accuse you of anything? I am just asking for explaination, Imperial noble consort!", the Dowager added. She sounded too innocent right now, as if she didn't have any ill intention toward Kongpob and Arthit.

„Don't tell me you really poisoned him?", the minister of the Left mumbled.

Some court officials were shaking their head, mumbling some rumors already. Arthit could heard how the officials were muttering that the Emperor was a fool for letting a Burmese spy in the palace. Because of blind love, the man he loved and did everything for poisoned him. The young man stared at the Emperor, clenching his hands into fists in anger. It didn't matter to him that they were suspecting and insulting him but he hated the fact that even their allies were turning their back on Kongpob and him in time of needs. Even Wad was shooting angry gazes at him, he seemed to be in rage and disappointed at Oon.

This is your plan, right? You planed to poison the Emperor and put the blame on me, right? The thing that angered him more was that both Kongpob and him had fallen in the Dowager's trap. How come Kongpob didn't realize the poison that was put in his drink? He was always careful and had acknowlegdes with poison and could recognize any plots and assassination attempt on him anytime. Arthit looked at his man who was against with his life. Now that his Kongpob needed him, he had failed him badly. I'm sorry, my love... I'm sorry that I couldn't defend myself and protect you when you need me... Tears filled his shining eyes but he hold them back for the time being to not show any weakness in his enemies' presence.

Four guards entered the chamber, two of them were dragging a woman in her end thirty with them. The two guards yanked her on the ground so she would fall on her knies and bow down to the powerful people around them. Arthit recognized the maid as the new servant who began working for him few days ago. He was so surprised that he stepped back and almost tripped against his own foot. The maid's eyes met with Oon's, she looked away immediately as if to avoid his looks that was intimidating her. The way she acted shy, was like she was scared of Oon's presence. Just like a slave feared her master that sent her to do something bad she was regretting.

„This is the maid who poisoned the Emperor", one of the four high ranked guards pointed out confidently.

Arthit's eyes widened in shock. He shook his head, couldn't believe that one of his servants had poisoned his beloved Kongpob. Somehow, he believed that she was a spy sent from the Dowager but he didn't feel right about her having a connection with him. It didn't look good for him at all.

„Who sent you to poison the Emperor?", the Dowager asked, her voice shrilling through the entire chamber.

The pitiful maid cried then begged for mercy by bowing down and hitting her forehead many times against the hard ground that it bleeded. „Please have mercy on this humble subject. I did wrong... I have committed a grave sin that should be punished with dead...", she sobbed.

The eldest of the guards grabbed her hair and yanked her up to kneel down properly. „Answer to the question that is given to you!", he ordered her.

The maid cried in pain again, „I was sent by someone... The person threatened to kill me if I don't put poison in the Emperor's drink...", she rubbed against her palms, asking for mercy.

„Who is your master?", the older woman screamed again, making the maid tremble in fear.

The maid stole a look of Arthit, the latter gasped in shock. „It's...", she pointed her finger at him. „It's concubine Oon...", she announced the shocking news.

Loud gasps echoed in the chamber, some higher officials took each one step back. They shook their head at the male concubine, pointing their hands at him and condemning him.

„Do you have anything else to confess before we sent you in the dungeon and set out your punishment?", the former Empress asked.

„Yes, confess all of your crimes!", the officials shouted in union. Now that the Emperor was between life and death, they managed to agree on one matter today.

„I'm going to die anyway so I'll denounce my master and take him down with him. I'm from Burma, was a maid working for Burma's royal family for many years before they were killed many months ago... There were rumors saying that Siam's spy had killed them. Later, I heard that one of the royal family had survived and escaped in Burma to avenge Siam's Emperor for killing his family... This is how I met concubine Oon and began scheming with him. I'm not the only one from Burma. His guard Bright, the maid Maprang and his shadow Knott were all from Burma too... They had schemed to avenge their masters!", she said.

Arthit shook his head, „It's a lie! I know many maids in Burma's palace. And YOU are none of them!", he screamed. It was true that he knew many servants who were working for him in this palace in Burma. As a crown prince, he didn't have to know everyone but one of his bad habits was to note the subjects who were serving him so he memorized all their features and faces. But only after letting these words out, did he know that he had commited a big mistake. By saying these words, he confessed that he was a Burmese royalty. Even though the servant lied, everyone believed her instead of him. Since he came from their enemy country who had empoisoned their Emperor, they were so blinded from anger that they couldn't see the truth anymore. Maybe, they didn't want to see the truth. The maid was really convinced with her act that even Wad began to hate the male concubine. Even the Empress began to believe her.

„That's why you couldn't answer my question earlier? You recognized the poison because you're from Burma, right? Did you instigate the assassination on your maid because you had planed the Emperor to be shot with poisoned arrow by that spy? Did you lie that I ordered the assassination attempt to put the blame on me?", the Dowager approached him.

The young concubine stepped back to avoid her but two guards remained behind him to block his escape route.

„I have to admit that you are a believable actor and schemer. You made us believe that you are a frail man who couldn't fight and needs the Emperor's favour. Was it funny to deceive us? Did you enjoy it being under the Emperor and moan under him every night? You have no shame as a man!", she insulted him with a big grin on her face. Yes, this it it! This is the face I want you to make! Fear me, beg for mercy! Today is going to be your death sentence, crown prince Arthit! She loved to see her archenemy in pain and in despair, according to her nothing was sweet as to see your fiend lose his confidence and bow down to you.

Arthit was speechless, everything went from bad to worse at once. He was overwhelmed with various emotions so he didn't know what to do or how to defent himself. He just stared at the Emperor, begging for him to wake up and tell him that everyone was a bad tease. That he was having a nightmare. Arthit, please wake up. Everything is a bad dream, right...? Although he wished he would wake up from this nightmare, he was still standing there between powerful, hungry lions wishing to devour him. Another loud commotion could be heard from outside, some of the maids were shouting. Arthit recognized Maprang and Bright's voice among the various kind of voices screaming. Even his shadow Knott was found out in the shadow and seized.

„Seize him!", the Empress Dowager commanded.

The two guards dragged each his hand, one kicked his knee whereupon he lost his balance and fell to his knees. He moaned in pain, his shining eyes never left Kongpob the entire time. All the sudden, the Emperor gasp and raised his chest. Kongpob was shaking violently, Wad hold onto him to calm him down but he never calmed down that day. Tears fell down Arthit's eyes, he struggled in the guards', grips and tried to free himself so he could run to Kong. He yelled at them to let him go to his man but they tightened their grips and hold firmly onto him.

„Lock him up in the dungeon!", there was the last order of the Empress Dowager.

No, I will die if they put me in the dungeon... My baby.. Our baby... The moment he heard the order, he lost his strength and fell down on his butt. Everything seemed to be the end of their fight... Kongpob, Arthit and their baby had lost the fight!?
