The downfall of Indian reality shows

I believe Indian reality shows shot to fame after the first season of Indian Idol. I was in my 6th grade, and I distinctly remember the winner, Abhijeet Sawant, became an overnight youth sensation (Right! It was a pre-social media era). I think it is safe to say Indian television started to run many reality TV shows after the immense success of this first season of Indian Idol.

Fast forward today, the Indian reality shows have no reality in them but fake drama. Whether it's fake tears of Neha Kakkar or fake emotional stories of a contestant, or fake fights, everything has become so fake. It is the "reality" of almost all Indian reality TV shows right now.

You can notice, so many reality shows just start and wind up, no one even knows about them. I'm like, "Yeh show kab aake gaya?"

However, one good thing about these reality shows is all the flop artists/celebrities or those who have become irrelevant get a job as judges. And we also get some hilarious memes through these shows. I mean, c'mon, there is a silver lining.

Anyway, I'm not aware of any authentic statistics to prove if there is a steady decline of Indian reality TV shows. But I won't be surprised if Indian reality shows become obsolete in a few years. This goes to Big Boss too. There, I said it.

Baap re! Kitna emotional ho gaya mein yeh likhte likhte, mujhe to Neha Kakkar se jaise rona aagaya.
