Chapter 2: Mission impossible
"... those idiots"
Cross was currently starring at a one way portal of Powder, Cannibal, and Sociopath. Nightmare was already mumbling about ways to rescue them without causing any deaths and Error was... still missing.
"Just what are you doing Fallen..." Cross heard Nightmare mutter but it was too quiet for Cross to fully pick up what he said after. Something about weaving and life or something. He had no idea who this 'Fallen' was but he knew that if Nightmare knew him, it meant 'Fallen' was not someone to be messed with.
"My King, there's no way to enter without hurting someone" Cross hissed, stabbing a sharp pencil into a massive worn-out map. "All the entrances are blocked by guards and our spies haven't contacted us!"
"There," The goop covered skeleton pointed at what seemed to be a red square at the side of the hallways. "Quick, pass me vent scroll 27"
Cross did as he was told, and passed Nightmare his quill and ink knowing his leader always refused to use anything else. The King of Negativity rolled open the scroll so it covered the entire table and pointed at a single small red square. "There. That's the opening near the entrance of the kingdom. It goes under the ground where no one can sense us or hear us." Nightmare said. "However, the exit that leads to the dungeons always has at least two guards standing by it. We will need a distraction".
Cross nodded, not exactly listening. "That's great, who's going to be distracted?" The oblivious skeleton looked up at his King, the feeling of dread immediately taking hold of his soul. He gulped. Maybe he should have stayed in bed this morning.

Fell growled and looked around. The kingdom was full of monsters, many coming from worlds like his so why was he the one that had to guard the entrance to the castle?! Sure, at least he wasn't the one guarding the actual kingdom walls but the castle might as well be just as bad! Whoever the hell was reading or listening to his inner monologue would honestly just be a weird stalker but still! Do you have any idea how many people come to ask to enter the castle?! It would have been fine if Ink didn't request that everyone who entered is checked for weapons! But nooooo, he just had to go and make that rule and make little old ME deal with everyone who protests. I wish I could just-
"Hey, having your daily inner monologue?" Someone asked, it was Sci. He was wearing a white lab coat and his signature glasses, his white eyelights glowed brightly.
"Yeah nerd, what else would I be doing, planning a slow and painful death for that dude?" Fell huffed, sending a glare at the other monster that was supposed to be guarding the castle with him. Sadly, his AMAZING partner had fallen asleep.
"Classic Classic, am I right?" The scientist laughed. Fell grumbled at that comment. "Anyways, I was sent here to notify you that we have managed to capture three of the bad sanses"
Fell's sockets widened. "Don't tell me it's the murder trio" he gasped. "I thought they were some of Dark King's best fighters?!". Sci nodded "that is correct. We found them in a terrible state. Killer looked sleep-deprived and Horror seemed to be starving himself. Dust was muttering to himself, saying something about not being able to protect his friend."
Fell blinked. "I....wow.... where did you put them?", "We put them in the dungeon in the same cell. They dusted 26 monsters when we tried to separate them".
"Wait, are you saying they didn't fight back?" The fell sans exclaimed. Sci shook his head, "no. When we were first about to arrest them, they didn't struggle. They seemed to have given up". "What the hell did Nightmare do to them?" Fell cursed. "Nightmare?" Sci questioned. "Who else? He's their boss, that freaking octopus must've done something to them". This caused the two to become quiet.
"Hello?" A voice asked. Fell looked over to see a skeleton, most likely a sans. "I'm the new therapist that was hired for the murder trio" the stranger said softly. The skeleton was around 6 feet tall and wore a dark purple cloak, his soft lavender eye-light glowed dimly.
"Hello? Kind sir?". "Uh, yeah, we need to check for weapons," Fell said, snapping out of his trance. "Can you take off your cloak?". The other did as he was told. He was wearing a light purple dress shirt and dark violet long pants. His boots were an even darker shade of purple. A necklace that hung on his neck, the glowing blue wire-like string weaves around the top of a silver crescent which had a small metal flower laying on it. The symbol was familiar but Fell couldn't tell where he had seen it. "You can go through," he said instead. The sans gave a respectful bow and walked through the massive door.
"Hey, is it just me or was his necklace familiar?" Fell asked Sci once the sans was out of sight.
No reply. "Sci?" He turned around only to find his friend missing, a small note resting where he had been.
'Hey Fell,
I need to go back to the lab to make the stronger magic restraints. Sorry I couldn't stay to tell you myself. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. In fact, I wish you luck, don't dust yourself. There could be killers out there trying to get into the castle, I would be horrified if they told me that you were dusted because you were being too moody to a dangerous guest.
P.S: the council is expecting you in one hour
-Sci'
The sans smiled, a red colour spreading across his skull. "So, the meeting is in one hour". Fell yelped and almost smacked Classic. "Don't do that you dumbass!". The original chuckled, "so what did the latest guest look like?". Fell had a terrible memory, which was why he and Classic had created a game where Fell tried to remember what the guests looked like. "He was a living purple gradient" Fell snorted, "had this weird necklace as well". Classic laughed, "come on. Let's get ready for the meeting, our shift is ending." Fell nodded and glanced at where Sci had been. Weird. He hasn't even heard the scientist walk away. "Fell?". He shook his head, it was probably nothing. "I'm coming" Maybe he should go check on Sci later.

Nightmare looked around the world of grey, the dark plane of existence would suffocate anyone that didn't know the way through it. Taking one last look, he lept back out. The world filled with colour as he landed outside the vent. The King of negativity quickly went through the vents, his goop like body shifting to make the journey easier.
"Hey, do you hear that?" He froze.
"Hear what?" A Voice answered the first.
"... nevermind, I think I'm just paranoid"
"Is it all the FNAF you're playing?"
"nO-"
Nightmare started moving again, this time being more silent. He can't afford to be caught. The octopus slowly crept back into the shadows as he reached his destination, now to wait. If Nightmare was anything, he was patient....
He wondered if it was possible to steal that guard's lavender tea.

A door closed, almost soundless as soft footsteps approached the other four monsters in the room. The sans looked down at the fourth monster. "Why is he here?" He questioned. "how did you even get here?" He asked, his red and white eyelights met green ones. "Because, who said this mission couldn't be more interesting?" The monster in a lab coat chuckled. "Come on, let's make this mission a bit more fiery"
