The mansion has been around for longer than anyone can remember.  It's old, anyone can tell you that, but exactly how old, no one really knows.  After a while, people started to call it Sorrow's Mansion.  People who would walk in would never walk out.  Eventually, the townspeople built a large wall, making it impossible for any creature without wings to enter or exit.  For a few years, everything was fine.  Then people started to disappear.  Once a month, one person after another would vanish without a trace. They never came back, and all any one could assume was that they had been taken to Sorrow's Mansion.

That legend and your name and age is all you remember when you wake up on a floor with a aching head. You are stuck in Sorrow's Mansion.

Creatures and Magic
There are monsters wandering the hall of Sorrow's Mansion.

These creatures are extremely agile and vicious. Their claws alone can tear through bones, and their teeth can bite steel in half. They can reach speeds up to 45mph, and if it weren't for their lack of smell, hearing, and 600/20 eyesight, they would be the most dangerous creatures on Earth. Hell, they might already be, I don't know. Don't really have any way to compare them to outside creatures, since people inside only know of these things and people outside don't know they exist. They constantly drool, and said drool is blood red and can give human skin 3rd degree burns.
