Chapter Three
Erm... Hello?
Author?
You know, you never told me your name...
Author, where are you? You just... vanished.
Author?
Author, please!
Time seems to be frozen in this book...
Author, what's happening!?
Author, where are you!
Disappearing usually means something bad happened...
Fine! I'll just use the computer controller writer thing.
Seriously, what is that thing called?
And what command should I use? /summon Author?
Command does not exist.
Are you serious!?
Fine.
How about /teleport Author?
There is no one matching your selection.
Do I have to use your online name? I don't know what that is!
Huh? I can see your account name? That's... weird.
So I'll have to do /teleport HPGacha? Huh. How does X handle this stuff again?
HPGacha has been successfully transported.
Finally! Took you long enough.
Oh. Doc, you managed to work the commands?
So that's what they're r called.
Yes, their called commands. I take it you used the /teleport command to get me here?
Just barely.
Well... back to the coded characters, I guess.
Grian P.O.V.
A new day, new grief.
Oh, how he wished he could just escape this cruel reality.
And go into this weird, limbo-like place where you discover that everything in your life is a fabrication that was created by a complete pyschopath for their amusement? Yeah, I didn't think so.
Shut up, Doc.
Fiiiiine.
All the Hermits hated him, especially himself.
Maybe Doc wouldn't blame him for his death, maybe the need for suffering would stop if someone was on his side...
I am on your side!
But that was all maybe's.
That wasn't now.
And now, he felt the need to suffer.
And so, he continued to cut.
Nooo! Grian! Do you know how much this hurts me!
Tell me, why did I decide to keep your soul alive? Oh yeah, because I think character death is a useless way to limit creativity. I DESPISE characters dying just to make it more 'realistic' while limiting your creativity, especially if you don't have the entire timeline figured out because you might want to do something with the character later. I didn't even want to do anything with your character, because I have only watched Grian's vids and Grian never interacts with Doc, but nooo, I had the brilliant idea to use you as a reader but in-universe, and then you became self-aware!
You done yet?
*sigh* yep.
X P.O.V.
He didn't want to believe it, he always hadn't.
But he had slept on it and decided that it was the only logical solution.
One of the Hermits had killed Doc, and it most likely was Grian.
And if it was one of the Hermits, he had let a murderer run loose.
X was 99% sure that it was Grian.
But it's not!
X doesn't know about Herobrine, remember?
It still makes me mad!
Still, X didn't want to believe it.
Grian was so nice and kind.
He wouldn't have done this.
Is it possible that it was an accident?
If it was, why would Grian leave a sign that clearly implied that he wasn't sorry?
No, whoever it was must have done it intentionally.
However, this still was speculation, and there wasn't enough evidence to ban Grian.
Thank goodness! X isn't banning Grian.
Yeah, well, Grian is needed for the plot to continue as intended.
Fair point.
Mumbo's P.O.V.
He hated this.
Why did he still care?
Right, because Grian had always seemed so innocent.
Sure, he seemed to be a bit of a prankster, but still nice.
But now...
All the evidence was stacked against him.
Had Mumbo been a bit premature when he talked to him last.
Maybe.
He was just hurt.
Grian had betrayed them.
Why did it matter that it was Grian?
Grian was working on his base today, Mumbo could see that from his base.
Even if Grian was a murderer, he still had excellent building skills.
Why did he have this dilemma?
Grian was a murderer, yet he still couldn't find himself looking away.
Crush?
Yep. I mean, I don't know how realistic it is, but it's a crush nonetheless. However, there will be more Grumbo in the sequel.
I'm... not gonna ask.
Herobrine P.O.V.
Everything was still working as intended.
Aside from that german's soul escaping, Herobrine was getting stronger and stronger every day.
Ha! I escaped from the grasp of Herobrine!
It still would take a long time to gain his full power set.
But he had three Hermits to feed off of.
Really, why didn't he use sorrow last time?
It was so much easier to control!
Grian P.O.V.
He could see Mumbo, watching him while he worked.
Talk about creeeeepy.
For whatever reason, it didn't bother him that much.
Did he still have a soft spot for Mumbo?
Maybe.
Maybe he did.
As long as Mumbo didn't figure anything out, Grian would allow Mumbo to watch him.
He didn't know why Mumbo wanted to watch him, since he was a cold-hearted murderer, but whatever.
Your not a cold-hearted murderer, Grian!
Doc, people have very illogical, harmful thoughts when they are depressed. I'll spare you the complicated science, but basically, people who are depressed don't make enough of the chemical that makes you happy, which causes them to be sorrowful. I think this could be triggered, but I'm not sure. Either way, depression isn't just extreme sadness, it a mental disorder that causes people to be very sorrowful and illogical as a main symptom, due to a lack of some chemicals.
How did you learn all that?
Random facts from videos I've watched all meshed together.
Alright...
Grian wondered why he still had that soft spot for Mumbo.
He thought it had gone away when he started cutting.
Speaking of which...
Grian walked into the bathroom, took the knife out, and started to cut again.
He needed to suffer.
Every time, more and more scars started littering his arms and with every scar, the more toxic Grian's thoughts got.
