Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

A/N: Soooo, I don’t know if there is any point in uploading this but I need to get the feels out so I’m gonna carry on. Here’s Chapter two, y’all!

Once we were out of prison (school), Riku, myself and Kairi headed to freedom (the park). It was only a small park, with some swings, monkeybars, a slide, all that sort of thing, but it was surrounded by a gigantic field and the woods in which most of my good memories resided. To top all that, the park was secluded; hidden from most of society except the three of us and Roxas’ gang, but they were cool and agreed not to tell anyone else. After all, it was our little place.

I looked over at Kairi and Riku. The former stood on the swing seat with her hands holding on tightly and her back arched as she swung back and forth. Her mouth was split in a smile while Riku told her something, I wasn’t really listening. Suddenly,, she laughed and almost lost her balance, but she caught herself and looked victorious.

“You some sort of Superwoman now?” Riku joked. He was wearing a smirk and was sitting opposite us on top of the monkeybars. As he dangled his legs over the side of the bars he swayed them back and forth and I realized just how attractive he was. I mean, I knew he was good looking but I’d never really paid much attention to all of him. His legs were slender, yet muscular, his body the same and his arms similar. How cliché of me to say this but… He was like a doll. Porcelain skin with no flaws, perfectly shaped body, purple-silver hair hanging lightly on his shoulders and those gorgeous eyes…

One thing about Riku that people always notice is his eyes. After all, they’re a bright turquoise perfectly shaped yet not symmetrical; with one eye having more flecks of green than the other, and the left having a small dot of gold in it. But I guess I’m the only one to stare into his eyes long enough to notice that.

I’d almost completely forgotten where I was until Riku glanced over at me and waved.

“You off with the fairies?” He laughed, and I flushed a deep red.

“Shut up…” I mumbled.

Fortunately, He took no offense and threw a can at me. I caught it before it hit me and read the label.

“Yo, what’s with the energy drinks?” I asked, popping it open and taking a swig anyway.

“Dude, we’re revising after this! Remember? Physics test? We’re gonna need this if we want to actually get shit done.” Riku scoffed.

“Fair’s fair.” I said.

“Soooo…” Kairi began, “Where d’you wanna revise?”

“Not mine.” Riku spat. “Mike’s home.”

“Huh. Well, we could go to mine?” Kairi suggested.

“Sure, whatever.” Riku and I chorused.

So that’s where we went, picking up more energy drinks and sweets on the way there. Kairi unlocked the door with one hand, laden down with bags in the other. Kicking our shoes off, we headed into her room and threw the bags down, collapsing onto the floor.

“I hate the walk from school to your place.” Riku laughed, already recovered.

“You hate it? I do that every day!” Kairi giggled. “Just minus the £20’s worth of shopping.”

We all laughed and popped open the second can of Rockstar that day.

“Oh! We need music!” Kairi shouted, climbing onto her bunk bed and grabbing her laptop.

Tapping in her password quickly, she went onto YouTube and stopped.

“What d’you want on?” She asked me and Riku.

“King for a Day.” Riku blurted out

“Little Talks.” I said simultaneously.

I snapped my head round to glare at him and found he was doing the same. Without any warning we both had our hand out in a balled fist and Kairi shouted “Rock, Paper, Scissors!” He held rock, and I held scissors. Laughing evilly, Riku pounded his fist into his hand in celebration before pumping it into the air.

“Hell yeah!” He shouted.

I flipped him off sassily.

“Roo.” He joked.

I stuck out my tongue. “King for a Day it is.”

Kairi promised to put Little Talks on next and typed in the song. Now my favourite bit happened. Riku signalled to Kairi and she threw him a microphone. It was only a toy from when she was little, a fake microphone for her to play with but none of us had grown up from little kids anyways, so we still used it. It didn’t even do anything to be honest, it literally just looked like a microphone; a pink flowery microphone with ponies on it, but whatever.

Riku braced himself as Kairi pumped up the sound, and he mouthed to me “Back me up”. And that’s what I did.

“Dare me to jump of the Jersey Bridge?

Bet you’ve never had a Friday night like this!”

We sung to the music, me screaming in the place of Kellen when necessary and Riku leading as Vic. Soon we reached the end of the song and Kairi laughed.

“Nice!” She joked and we high-fived.

“You know what would be awesome?” I asked, leaning back onto a bean bag. I put my hands behind my head and imagined. The pounding music, the bright lights a jumping, excited crowd…

“What’d be awesome?” Kairi and Riku asked.

“If we could start our own band.” I answered. I could almost feel the two of them grin in agreement. I continued. “I mean, Riku and I can play guitar and sing pretty well, Kairi, your drumkit in the corner lets your talent show, but we can’t just have a band on that…”

“Selphie!” Kairi gasped, and Riku and I posed jokingly even though we knew it wasn’t what she was talking about.

“What about her?” Riku asked.

“Well, she plays bass, and she also can play a bit of piano…”

I grinned, and so did Riku. Kairi looked at us, waiting for an answer.

“Let’s go for it!” We laughed.
