Chapter 1
SoRiku – The Melancholy of Sora, Riku and Kairi
A/N: Hey Guys! New story today, and as you can see from the title it is SoRiku, everyone’s favourite Kingdom Hearts ship… well, maybe… Anyways, on with the ship!
Sora’s PoV:
“Sora!” A voice called out to me. “Sora!” It called again.
I woke with a start to find I was in my room, the usual posters of various musicians and bands around the walls, my blue quilted bed messy as ever. My desk was on the other side of the room, with pen and paint marks on it, and chip marks on it, probably due to my everlasting anger the homework I’m set gives me. There was a wardrobe in the other corner of the room, with many bundled up clothes and my school uniform, which, at the moment I needed direly. Turning over to look at my alarm clock, I saw that I had once again, slept in.
“SORA!” The voice seemed angry this time, and I inured it was probably my friends. I jumped out of my bed, pulled open the curtains, and stared down at the pavement.
As expected, the furious face of Riku, my best friend since childhood, staring up at me. I grinned sheepishly at him and he sighed, before I rushed through my morning routine of showering, changing into school clothes, packing and grabbing my bag. Oh, and skipping breakfast due to my lateness. Woe is me.
Grabbing my keys, I unlocked the door and darted out of the house, only just remembering to lock up again.
“Yo!” I laughed at Riku.
He managed a small smile before grabbing my hand, and pulling me down the street.
“C’mon, Idiot! Do you want to be late… Again?” He said, pulling me harder.
“Hey… You do know what you’re doing right now, don’t you?” I laughed nervously and stared down at our hands.
The contact between myself and Riku, was, to say the least, heavenly. I mean, I know I’m gay, and I’ve known forever, but just to feel the contact between me and HIM, of all people…
“What about it?” Riku asked, confused. “Oh! Ohhh…. Hey, Sorry!” He said apologetically, letting go of my hand.
I must say that I pouted slightly.
When we got to school, late due to my mess-up, we sat down in our seats at the back of the room. Riku grinned as we made it just before the teacher got in. I grinned back and we high-fived, much to the teacher’s confusion.
“OK, everyone. Take your seats, I’m about to start form period.” The teacher said, bringing out his laptop to get the register.
“Selphie?” The teacher began.
“Here!” Chimed Selphie, a friend of Kairi’s.
“Tidus?”
“Here!” Another friend of ours said.
“Wakka?”
“Here!” said a slightly more masculine boy.
“Kairi?”
“Here!” Cheered mine and Riku’s best friend.
“Riku?”
“Here.” Said the monotonous drawl next to me. He was completely different in front of others.
“Sora?”
“…” Wow, I’m sure someone just said my name.
“Sora!”
“…Oh! What?” I stuttered, realizing my mistake, but Riku got there quicker.
“Oh, sorry! Here!” He laughed, imitating my higher pitched voice.
The teacher looked up inquisitively, wondering where the mysterious voice had come from, then assumed it was me and carried on with registration.
“Was that meant to be me?” I muttered under my breath to Riku, pouting up at his smug face. He smirked. I grinned.
Soon enough, the bell rung and we were off to our first class, Maths. Just flippin’ perfect, my worst subject, but hey, I had Riku a desk behind me… which was a great thing and also an annoying thing.
“Psssst…. Riku…” I whispered.
He looked up from his work, leant over his desk with a furrowed brow and sinister expression. He scowled, then went back to his work, scribbling down some calculations and carrying the one and all that stuff I always forget to do.
“Heeeeey, Heeeey…. Heyyyyy……!” I whispered again, turning back around when the teacher walked past.
“Heeeeeeeee-“ I tried again, and his gaze flew to me, fringe brushing his arched eyebrows.
“What?” He growled, obviously stuck on a question, I assumed from his anger.
“What’s the answer to-“
“Work it out yourself. It’s not that hard.” He replied, before I could finish.
“But I didn’t even tell you what question it was…” I mumbled.
“Which one is it then?” He asked, lightening up a little.
“Ummmm…” I thought for a second, then answered. “Question 9?”
“Hmm…” Riku skimmed over his paper, turning back a couple of pages. “Question 9… is… 52.” He finished, going back to his question and carrying on.
I thanked him silently and carried on.
At the end of the day, myself, Riku and Kairi met up outside the front gates.
“’Sup?” I grinned as I got to the meeting spot.
“Riku here was just telling me of your terrible maths skills!” Kairi grinned.
Riku smirked down at me and ruffled my hair.
“Don’t look at me like that, it’s true!” He laughed, and threw his arm around me. “I can’t help it that your brain turns to much any time you look at numbers.”
I blushed and pouted at him, as per usual, and he grinned down at me. Laughing, I leant into his chest and put my arms around him. He stroked my hair…
“Break it up you lovebirds!” Kairi shouted suddenly, and we both jumped apart, me blushing majorly and Riku “Swearing that wasn’t his intention.”
The most terrifying thing was that I had the feeling Kairi was angry.
A/N: Sup, guys! Okay dokay, Imma be leaving this one here! Let me know if I should continue! Kthxbye, , my shippettes!
