chapter three

"Guys come meet us in the park" Dash texted the group chat. She didn't give any clue as to who "us" was, or who was included in "guys", but even so, by 11:45AM on a sunny Saturday morning, Rainbow, Applejack, Fluttershy and Sunset sat gathered in the park.

"So, I'm not complaining, but why are we here again?" Fluttershy spoke softly. The sun lit up her eyes and she looked so pretty sat on the grass fiddling with a flower.

"Well Rainbow Dash was annoying the shit outta me, so figured we'd get some company," Applejack said, laying her hat down beside her.

Dash swung her arms up in defence, almost knocking Sunset out while she did so, "Not my fault you can't keep up with my athleticism."

"Wow, big word," Sunset smirked. Dash pushed her so hard she fell flat onto the grass. Sunset laughed, but stayed there because the sun felt nice on her face.

"Usually I can, but you've already taken me on a run this mornin', and we've been running around playing soccer for god knows how long, and it's only noon! I'm tuckered..." AJ sighed, also laying down now.

"You're weak," Dash huffed. She stood up, and stretched her calves. "I'll be back in fifteen..." she said, and started jogging around the park.

"What is wrong with her..." Applejack scoffed.

Sunset shrugged, covering the sun with her hands and she inspected her friend sprinting out into the distance.

I'm sure she's okay. She loves to work out so maybe she's just enjoying... the sunny weather..." Flutershy smiled hopefully.

"Yeah, sure. Just don't want her getting hurt," Sunset smiled back at Fluttershy, who began to look concerned.

AJ laughed, "Yeah she's fine. Typical Dash to be runnin' everywhere. I'd be more concerned if she was sat still..."

The trio laughed as their friend circled the park, swiftly returning back and finally taking a seat next to her friends.

"Enjoy the run?" Sunset smiled,

"As a matter of fact, yes. Very refreshing," Dash crossed her arms in accomplishment. Her cheeks were slightly flushed from the heat of the sun and her work out.

"Good for ya. Now, I dunno about you girls but I'm starvin so, wanna come grab a bite?" Applejack declared.

"Sure let's go. There's a cafe up there, it's cute, and cheap," Sunset suggested, pointing to the top of the hill leading out of the park. The girls agreed and headed up. Almost as if it was scripted into her, Rainbow couldn't help but sprint up towards the cafe.

"Up a hill too?! She's insane," Applejack laughed.
"Yup, that's gotta hurt," Sunset agreed.

Clearly, it did hurt. When the girls joined their crazy rainbow friend, the poor girl looked battered. Her rainbow hair was an unrecognisable pattern and her face was filled with colour.

"Dash... come sit down," Fluttershy led her friend over to the seat.
"I'm fine, honesty. Just a water will do it, cool me down. I know my body," Dash said, once again smugly crossing her arms.

The girls ordered food, and Rainbow rehydrated.

"The party's tonight right?" Sunset asked.

"Yeah, I'm sceptical. I never really do parties, usually we just... meet up..." Applejack said, with a slightly unsure laugh.

"I know, but we can get ready together, and it's just going to be us girls so it's okay," Fluttershy reassured them.

"Bring alcohol," Rainbow attempted to subtly whisper to Applejack, but the other two heard anyway.

Fluttershy sighed, "Don't go over the top..." she commented.

Sunset nodded in agreement, "Yeah, after what happened last time between tipsy AJ and drunk Rarity, I think we've learnt enough about the influence of going over the top..." The girls sat in silent agreement and knowledge about that shared memory, which you can interpret as you wish.

They cleared up, finished their little gathering and went their own ways. Soon enough though, it was time for the party, and Fluttershy, Applejack and Sunset met up again to get ready together.

Sunset steadily dragged her eyeliner across her eyelid, and laughed to herself, "It's funny how we're trying so hard to look nice when we already see each other everyday."

"I know, but when Rarity throws a party, you just know how seriously she takes her looks, so we have to as well," Fluttershy smiled, fiddling with her pretty pink body-con dress.

"Just my type of thing..." Applejack commented sarcastically. She was fixing her hair, and even though she was known for being casual, when she really put in the effort she could really scrub up quite nicely. She was wearing a loose front tied top, and low waisted flared jeans that showed off her stomach. Her hair fell casually down her back, and she looked pretty.

When they finished getting ready, they walked to Rarity's. They had been at Fluttershy's house, and so the walk wasn't very long. They chattered along the way.

"Who's gonna get the drunkest?" Sunset smirked.

"I'm not going to drink," Fluttershy stated, "I don't really like to and when I do it just makes me feel overwhelmed, so I'll be the sober one looking after everyone," she giggled.

"That's totally fair, no one will force ya," Applejack smiled, "And I don't really wanna go too far either. It is just us girls, but I'll still find a way to embarrass myself if I get too drunk..."

Sunset nodded, "Me too, I won't say anything now, but whatever happens at least I know you guys so it shouldn't be too humiliating..."

They laughed, and arrived at the house. They assumed Rainbow and Pinkie were already there, because above the music they could already hear laughter and hubbub when Rarity opened the door.

"Ahh you look fabulous girls, come in!" the fashionista jumped up, in her flawless outfit - which everyone had expected of course. It was possible she had already had a drink or two, because she was more lively than usual.

Shock however fell upon the guests as they entered, because Rainbow Dash and Pinkie had not yet arrived. No. The laughter and chatter, that came from the swarm of other unfamiliar teenagers (very likely CHS students) who filled the room.

"Rarity, I thought it was just us?!" Applejack's eyes widened.
