FIVE - GET TOGETHER
"Kill me- just slit my throat and let my blood drain out of me!"
Felicity glanced up from texting on her phone and to the young Stark girl sitting at Silvia Hayes' desk, books and papers strewn across the surface. The Korean girl slowly set her phone down and watched as Eliza balled up a piece of paper and threw it across the room, landing in a pile with all of the other pieces of papers she had thrown. Felicity was surprised the girl hadn't thrown any of the actual text books yet. Hesitantly, she opened her mouth to speak.
"Um, Ellie," Felicity said, "Maybe you should, oh I don't know, take a break from school-?"
"Mid-terms are a month away, and this year I am not slacking on studying. No breaks for me, Gal," Eliza interrupted.
"But you just-."
"Fel, let me be over the top dramatic, okay?"
"Eliza Michelle, you are taking a fucking break from school work," Felicity snapped and glared at the other girl. The young sorceress snapped her gaze to the Korean badass with a shocked looked; she wasn't expecting such an outburst from her friend. "Listen, it's almost five in the afternoon and you haven't eaten since lunch, let alone relaxed since this morning when school started. Let's get everyone together and have a fun night, okay?"
Eliza raised an eyebrow in speculation. She was tired of studying and doing school work, and the idea of a fun night with the few friends she had seemed like a fantastic idea. But she just had one tiny problem, "Jaz and Josh are going to expect it to be at my place. The two agents posing at my legal guardians are out on another mission, and the get together can't exactly be in Malibu."
Felicity sighed and said with a roll of her eyes, "Then let it be at my place, genius! And not just those two dipshits, either. It's Killian's last night before he and Tony go to Kamar-Taj, so he's definitely coming, and it would be cool to bring Peter."
"We're not inviting Spandex Guy."
"Um, yeah we are. Be nice for once, Ellie. Show the kid you're not all mean," Felicity told her.
"But I am-." Eliza cut her own words off at seeing the looking Felicity was giving her; it was one a mother would give their bratty child, getting them to behave. The American college student let out a huff of air and slouched her shoulders. She really didn't want to invite Peter Parker – but Felicity won't take a no from her, so she has to. "Fine."
Felicity's harsh stare morphed into one of relief, a grateful grin on her lips. "Thank you, Ellie. Now, go invite him! Take the plate of cookies with you, too." The Korean trainer handed the plate of sugar cookies to Eliza with a hopeful smile.
Eliza frowned. "It's gonna be at your-."
"Show the kid that you're nice!"
She grumbled under her breath and stood up from her seat. She realized, then, that fighting with Felicity about inviting Peter would not end until she agreed to it – all of it – and that's what she did. Eliza agreed reluctantly to invite Peter herself, making her friend's smile grow even more. She took the plate out of Felicity's hands and begrudgingly stalked out of the empty office they were (more like Eliza was) using for studying, ignoring the Korean's words. ("Maybe even flirt with him!")
Silently and angrily, Eliza Stark walked down the many hallways and took an elevator to get to the floor that Peter Parker was currently working on. She ignored employees that greeted her, and swiftly moved passed and between people when needed. Once she got to the correct floor, Eliza simply stood for a second outside of the elevator. The girl had no idea how to exactly invite Peter to the little get together. The last time she talked to him was four days ago when she thanked for saving her life – and during the moment when her evil ancestor showed up. Since then, she's only seen him once: two days ago, when she walked into Tony's shop to merely check up on them.
("Hey, do you- oh, Peter. Hey."
"Oh, um... Hi, Eliza."
"Who knew two teenagers could be this awkward?")
Eliza never knew she could that awkward until then. She wasn't expecting to see him there, so it shocked her at seeing the other old teen working away with her father. Why am I so awkward with him? She asked herself, frowning as she continued her trek to Tony's shop. It confused her, honestly. One second she could be as mean to Peter as she is with every other person, but then the next second his awkwardness has rubbed off of her, and it was just embarrassing.
Finally, she got to door of the shop and kicked it open with her foot, too lazy to use her free arm, and took one giant step into the room before kicking the door shut. After a moment of looking around, she finally caught sight of a mess of brown hair sticking up from behind some technological device on a metal table. The slam of the door closing obviously didn't register in the boy's brain considering he was still focusing all of his attention of the device that Eliza didn't recognize. Sighing, she rolled her eyes and quickly walked up to the table without making a noise. The noise she did cause, however, was the clattering sound of the plate of cookies hitting the table, a few of them scattering off of the plate.
At that, Peter jumped up and dropped the screw driver in his hand, though quickly caught it. After a few seconds of composing himself, he finally took notice of the girl standing on the other side of the table; she was trying not to show that Peter being startled didn't amuse her, but she was failing miserably at that. He gave a slight roll of his eyes as he set the screw driver down.
"Hey, Eliza," he greeted. "Um, what're you doing here?"
She gave a tight-lipped smile towards him as her own greeting, gesturing towards the plate and cookies, "I brought some cookies. Also, we're hanging out tonight."
The excitement of seeing the sweets died down almost instantly at registering the last part. "What?"
"A few friends and I are hanging out; Killian is, too. You're coming – well, invited to come," Eliza farther explained. "I'm trying to be nice here, Peter. Don't look like I'm going to murder you."
Peter blinked rapidly as he processed the information, staring at the girl with a curious expression. "Are you sure you're not getting me mixed up with some other lame guy?" He asked, skeptical.
Eliza rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "You questioning me is the repayment for being nice? Awesome." Sarcasm laced her words as she spoke in reply, making return the act of rolling his eyes.
"You're not the kindest, Eliza, and we barely speak at school let alone here," Peter told her.
"I rarely have a reason to talk to you."
Peter lips pursed together then, brows knitting together as he tried not to show how much that hurt him. But Eliza could tell by the sudden tension in his shoulders that what she had said took a bad hit for Peter. She bit the inside of her cheek at realizing that maybe, just maybe, she could have chosen different and better words than the ones she used. She looked down at the table and uncrossed her arms, tapping at the edge of it with her fingers as she tried to think of something to make the situation better. Yet nothing came to mind.
"Peter, I didn't mean it like that," she finally voiced. Though, it was a bit of a lie – she did mean that she rarely has a reason to talk to Peter, but she didn't mean for the words to come out so harshly.
He shook his head, scratching the back of his neck. "No, uh... That's- you and I both know it's true."
Eliza bit at her bottom lip and nodded. "Yeah. You're still invited to the get together, though. That is, if you want to come now."
"How thoughtful of you," sarcasm laced his words, but in a teasing way.
"Very thoughtful of me, actually. Just, if you decide to come just find either Felicity Gal or me. Usually we're together so it won't be hard," Eliza told him. "There'll be pizza if that has any influence on your decision."
Peter chuckled and nodded, "I'll think about it."
Eliza gave a small smile and took a cookie from the plate as she walked off, "Good."

"What the fuck happened to your face?"
"Uh, rude," Jasmine laughed.
Peter's eyes widened and he stopped walking towards the pizza on the table, looking at Killian who was staring confusingly at him. The awkward boy gave a one shouldered shrug, saying, "Fell off my skateboard."
Jasmine raised her eyebrow and handed Peter a plate, "Does the concrete have fists?" She questioned.
"Yeah, I don't think... You look more like you got beat up by some buff dude," Josh added himself into the conversation. "Oh, I'm Josh Meyers. That's Jasmine – she's adopted."
"So are you!"
"Fuck off."
Peter shook his head and took the plate from the redhead, and he quickly made his way to the pizza again. He set his backpack down in one of the empty chairs before grabbing a slice from each type of pizza the group had ordered. "Well, that didn't happen," he lied. "Peter Parker. Uh, thanks for inviting me."
Josh scoffed, acting as if it didn't matter to him. "Don't be thanking me. It was all Ellie."
Jaz gave an uncertain sound at her brother's words, "Eh, I wouldn't say all Ellie. You know Fel probably made her."
"Oh... Yeah," Josh muttered.
"No offense, Peter," the redhead started, "but if it wasn't for Fel, you wouldn't be here."
Killian rolled his eyes as he stood next to the girl at seeing Peter frown. "Dude, don't get down. None of us would be here if it wasn't for Fel. Ellie would still be drowning herself in homework and studying if it wasn't for Felicity."
Peter gave a nod, and a short smile. He then took a bite of the pizza he had, not bothering to speak back to Killian. Though, suddenly, the window of Felicity's kitchen opened and the owner crawled in with two beer packs. After landing on her feet smoothly, and glancing around the room, she started speaking.
"Peter! You made it," Felicity exclaimed when seeing the brunet boy as she walked into the kitchen. The large, toothy smile faltered the slightest bit at seeing his face, but she refrained from asking what had happened and instead held up the two beer packs in her hands. "Want some beer?"
"Um, he has to have some – or some alcoholic beverage," Josh said before Peter could utter a sound. "It's tradition that new kids to our group had beer or something!"
"It's a lame tradition," Killian muttered.
"You're a lame tradition," Jaz snapped at him.
"Your face is a lame tradition."
"You're-."
"This just sounds like you two are fucking," a new voice sounded, "Disgusting."
All heads turned towards the now opened window and spotted half of the Stark Twins (or as Jaz, Josh, and Peter know her as half of the Martin Twins) crawl through it with random bottles of alcohol in her arms. Peter raised an eyebrow at the large amount of drinks the girl had, while Josh instantly moved to help her carry some of them. Killian and Jaz made room for the drinks at the table, the other three who were holding them setting the beverages down instantly.
"We aren't fucking," Killian told his sister.
"Well, yeah, it just sounded like you two are," said Eliza. "Oh, and about two thirds of the vodka is mine."
Peter swallowed his food and said, "But that's over half."
Eliza gave him a troublesome grin, "Exactly." She then got her own plate of pizza and made herself a cup of vodka mixed with whiskey. Most of the group made disgusting looks at the action, except for Killian; he was used to his sister mixing up the two drinks. Though, everyone else was soon making their own drinks – Peter just stuck with a beer and watched chaos happen.
Three hours later, Eliza was drunk. Josh and Killian were passed out in the kitchen. Felicity and Jasmine were trying to play Just Dance in their drunken state. Peter wad drunk, too, though not as drunk as everyone else. He was trying to help the two girls playing Just Dance by giving terrible directions from his spot on the couch. Eliza sat beside him, amused as she ate the last few bites of her slice of pizza. The twin had been banned from drinking anymore by Peter and Felicity (Killian was already passed out by then), so she retorted to eating the rest of the pizza.
Eventually, Peter quick trying to help Jaz and Fel, realizing it wasn't much help, and glanced at Eliza. He could tell she had sobered up a bit since he last fully looked at her. After a second he spoke up, "You need to drink water."
Eliza looked at him and narrowed her eyes, "No, I don't."
"Yeah, ya do."
"Listen to him, Ellie!" Jaz drunkenly yelled, "No need to get dehydrated!"
Peter then gave a proud, smug smirk at Eliza – who simply glared. But she stood up anyway and made her way to the kitchen. He followed, just to make sure she actually got a glass of water and not another cup of vodka. It was a good thing, too, because he instantly caught her going towards the alcohol on the kitchen table. He walked up behind her and grabbed the vodka bottle from her hands.
She let out a yell of protest as she turned around, "Rude!"
"Water does not mean vodka, Eliza," Peter told her.
"Ah, but it does," she said, reaching for the beverage.
Peter simply held it high above his head. "Not true."
The girl glared and stood on her tiptoes, one hand on his shoulder to help her stay balanced and the other hand reached for the drink again. And again, Peter simply held it higher. She stopped for a split second and looked at him again, her glare slowly softened, though, as she suddenly an urge to just kiss Peter. With his messy hair flopping over his forehead, nice pink lips, a chiseled jaw, and deep brown eyes. The boy stared at her in confusion as she was suddenly not trying to grab the vodka.
"You're hot."
Peter's confusion grew, arm lowering to his side and he questioned Eliza, "What?" He wanted to say, 'you too', because Eliza is hot – but also beautiful and so many other things that she would probably murder him for if he said that to her face – yet all he came up with is a confused 'what'. And he didn't get a reply; not a verbal one, at least.
What came after his question was Eliza leaning up and kissing him. For a split second Peter merely stood there, eyes wide, but then the next split second past and he was kissing her back. He blindly set the vodka back on the table as the kiss became quite heated, Eliza pulling him closer with the hem of his pants and Peter pushing her back against the table. Although, the heated make out session lasted a short while. Eliza froze and suddenly pulled back, surprised at herself. Peter stared wide eyed, waiting for her say something.
"Follow me," she said, quickly walking over to the window and opening it. She glanced back at Peter and motioned for him to follow. "C'mon, hot stuff."

Eliza rubbed her forehead with her hand, gripping a glass of water tightly with her other. Silvia glanced up at the teenager from her seat at her office desk, smirking slightly at noticing how hungover the girl seemed to be. The woman let out a sigh and grabbed a bottle of Tylenol from a desk drawer and tossed it at Eliza's feet. The young girl opened her shut eyes at feeling something hit her foot after hearing a loud thud, and quickly noticed the medicine. Her gaze then went to her boss.
"Take two. If needed, take some again in five hours," the woman explained.
Eliza gave a thankful smile and grabbed the medicine bottle. "Thank you, Sil."
"No problem, kid. Oh, and," Silvia paused to motion around her neck, "Those hickeys are starting to show through the coverage."
"Shit," Eliza quickly took the two pills before continuing, "Please don't tell my dad."
"Only if you tell me who the guy was."
"Peter Parker."
"Cool. Go fix that mess up and go say bye to Tony."
Eliza nodded, and downed the glass of water before leaving for the bathroom. She did as Silvia told her, knowing that the two were going to have a talk about what happened later on, and right now the brunette didn't want to piss off the woman. Once the hickeys were successfully covered again, Eliza quickly made her way to her dad's office to say bye before he went off to Kamar-Taj with Killian. She knocked a few times on the office's door before pushing it open and walking in.
Tony lifted his head from staring at some new files on his desk. He then sent his daughter a smile. "You behave while I'm gone, okay?" he told her.
"I'm not gonna blow up a building, if that's what you mean," Eliza said.
He chuckled and shook his head, "I would hope so. Pepper will be here if you need her, and there's always Happy to drive you around and there's Silvia, too. Plus those agents that pose as your real parents. And call Cap or Natasha if needed. Maybe Vision or Wanda – or Sam-."
"Dad," Eliza interrupted, "I know who to call in case of emergencies."
"Good, good." He paused, "On second thought, maybe I should-."
"I'll be safe, Dad. Go find this Strange guy, okay?" She said.
Tony sighed and nodded. He then stood up from his desk, walking around to the front of it and opening his arms. Eliza didn't hesitate to run up and give him a tight hug. "I love you, kid."
"I love you, too, Dad."
