Sophie loved Fitz at first sight, his amazing movie star looks. She had just wished to fit in, and her wish had come true when she saw him. He had taken her to the Lost Cities.

Sophie hadn't wanted to give up her old life for this new one, but Fitz had helped her. They had defeated the Neverseen together, finished Foxfire. Sophie got many of the men in the elven world to swoon for her unknowingly, but she still didn't have Fitz. She only wanted Fitz, and she couldn't have anyone else.

Sophie was tired of being just friends after a whole century. She still loved Fitz. There were nights when she still wondered if he cared about her that way.

Sophie began to get hailed by boys when she announced that she was getting her scroll and planning her Winnowing Gala. She only wanted Fitz to hail her. Only Fitz.

After sending invitations to men on her list, including Fitz, Sophie got anxious. What if he didn't like her? Her imparter rang. Fitz. She picked it up. He wanted to meet her under Calla's tree an hour before the Gala started. Only two weeks.

Sophie went dress shopping with Biana. Only a week until her Gala. She saw Fitz, buying a suit and her heart fluttered when he smiled.

Sophie had her friends come to her house to play Base Quest the day after shopping. Biana, Linh, and Sophie went against the boys. The boys went questing first. Sophie tracked Fitz, running trough the trees to tag him. She tackled him to the ground and laughed. "Where do you think you're going?"

Sophie had to stay home for a day, overseeing preperations for the front of her house to have a large area cleared and paved for her gala. Her heart ached to see Fitz.

Sophie had one day until the Gala. She hadn't seen any of her friends except Biana for four days. She just wanted to see Fitz. But she would tomorrow... Tomorrow.

It was the day of the gala and Sophie was ready. She met Fitz under the tree. What did he need to tell her?

"Sophie- I-" Fitz gulped, blushing.

"You..."

"I wanted to tell you that- I li- I love you." He said.

"..."

"I just wanted to tell you before the Gala, so you know."

"So I know? You couldn't have told me sooner?"

Fitz was burning. "I was scared..."

Sophie was tired of being scared too. So she stood on her tiptoes, kissing him. He smiled against her lips and kissed back. She slowly went down for air. He was blushing red hot, but was still smiling. "Me too." 

He leaned down, and scooped Sophie up, pressing her back against the tree, holding her legs. He kissed her again. She kissed him back harder, her arms wrapped around his neck.

Biana went to look for Sophie and found the two in the same position, making out. Biana tapped  Fitz jump back, amused, and mae Sophie go to the now starting Gala.

The whole gala, most of the men glared at the mysterious man, dancing with Sophie, and kissing  her multiple times. None could figure out who he was because of all the masquerade masks. So they stared, jealous of a man who stole Sophie's heart.
