Blackswan (Part III)

A/N: Warning, minor language ahead. Idk is ass and damn bad words? Warning I guess?

Fintan slammed his fist on the table. "Councillor Emery-"

"Head Councillor." Emery barked from the head of the table.

Fintan sighed. "Head Councillor Emery, Blackswan stormed the prison with his merry men-"

Oralie coughed from the corner and spoke in a delicate voice. "Or she. Nobody has seen Blackswan's whole face, only glimpses."

Emery butted in. "With that height, and that amount of power, probably a man."

Oralie coughed and muttered something along the lines of 'damn sexist jerk'. When she looked up, her eyes fawned innocence, and Fintan continued. "He has stormed the prison, we need to do something about his capture!"

"We need more information until we can attempt capturing him." Alina said. "Once we have enough information, we can create a trap that will lure him in."

Fintan sighed. "Of course, I'll get right on it."

-

I looked out the window of my tall tower. I sighed and looked at the horizon, into the woods. Where are you?  I nearly jumped when a delicate hand tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see my sister, Biana. "Are you looking for her again?" She said.

I gave her a sad smile. "I guess so." I then remembered the shadowy figure she had met everynight a few weeks ago. "What about your mysterious rebel?" I teased.

Biana flushed red. "Shut up Fitz!" She hissed.

"What was his name...." I fake pondered. "Sam, Tram?"

"Tam!" She burst out. She covered her mouth, face red. I laughed and she elbowed me. Totally worth it. "Anyways it's not like you miss the mysterious Blackswan any less!" I blushed a little. "Don't the Councillors think Blackswan is a guy or something?"

"Sophie is not a guy!" I burst out. I clapped a hand over my mouth and looked both ways down the hall to make sure nobody was overhearing. We both sighed. We were stuck in this castle unless our uncle Emery decided to travel, which would be... never, if he kept having Fintan do his dirty work. I sat on the window ledge.

"We're going to be stuck here forever." Biana said. She sat on the window ledge with me, her purple skirts poofing up around her. Her purple corset matched the skirts, and she had on a circlet with a teal gem set into the center of it's golden metal. Her black flat footed shoes were hidden beneath layers of long skirts.

I ran a hand through my hair and saw my reflection in the glass. I had on a similar circlet to Biana, and a long teal cape that reached to my ankles. My brown boots reached to my knees, and covered most of my black pants. My navy tunic was untucked. "Sophie will come back. Will she?"

Biana let out a sigh. "She may not be able to come back...." She rubbed my shoulder. "But she misses you just as much. Just because it's  young love, that doesn't mean it dies young too." She smiled wistfully at me and stood up. She disappeared down the hall with a swish of her skirts. I sighed and looked back at the horizon where the top of the forest poked out.

-

I let a small smile form on my face. Rescuing those agents had risen the spirits of everyone. Keefe had been made a makeshift pair of crutches by Physic and Elwin. He hobbled over the uneven floor of the forest even though he shouldn't have been out of bed for two days. His tunic had been changed multiple times, yet the bandages kept loosening because he was moving around. His tunic was soaked through with blood by the time he made his way to me. "Keefe you're going to bleed to death if you don't get to bed right now." I hissed.

Linh gave him a worried look from her spot at my side. Keefe attempted a chuckle, but he wheezed half way through and started to cough. When he recovered, he went with a smirk. "Foster, we all know you just want me in there with you." He teased. His voice traveled far even in his weak state, making passerby snicker. Blood rushed to my face, turning it crimson red. Even Linh looked like she was trying not to laugh. Everyone in camp already knew that Prince Fitz was my one and only. Somehow that didn't stop this from being funny.

"Shut up." I hissed. I noticed his tunic was bloodier. "Stubborn ass." I muttered under my breath as I picked him up, leaving Linh to grab the crutches. I lifted him above my head with ease as I walked towards my tent.

"What the hell are you doing?" Keefe wheezed.

"Taking you up on your offer." I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Really Foster? Didn't kno-" Keefe started to say.

"She was being sarcastic." Linh said.

"Thanks Captain Obvious." I deadpanned. We reached my tent, and I pushed a curtain acting as a door to the side. My tent was taller due to my height, so I wouldn't hit my head. I placed Keefe on a cot with extra care. "Well since Physic and Elwin are off somewhere together, I guess I'm going to have to do this."

"Don't we have professional healers as backup?" Keefe asked.

I sighed. "I am professional you idiot, now stay still." I reached into my right boot and pulled out a smooth dagger. I carefully cut Keefe's tunic down the middle and I ripped off the bloody fabric. I slipped the dagger back into my boot, and grabbed a jar of an antiseptic like plant. I sighed, wishing for professional medicine, but only nobles had access to the top quality medicine.

I inflicted numbness on Keefe. It was a hard feeling to capture, but once I had it, it was a good asset for healing. Keefe let out a sigh of relief. I started at the whip mark on his shoulder that was now bleeding. The stitches had torn out from using the crutches. I pulled out a small medkit and searched it. I pulled out a needle and some special thread. (A/N: Oh dang this is gonna be crappy since I don't know how sticthing someone works and I dont wanna look it up, so prepare. XD)

"Foster is that going to hurt?" Keefe asked. He looked pretty nervous as I started cleaning it.

"I won't be able to inflict completely without loosing concentration.... So it will hurt... A little." I said. I steadied my hand as I held the needle above the wound. Keefe gritted his teeth and I started. He yelled out and started screaming profanities. Even a drunken sailor would've been put to shame at his fowl curses. I ignored him and continued stitching the wound. I finished pulling the thread through, and tied it off close to the skin. The wound had stopped bleeding and looked slightly better. I winced as I applied antiseptic to it.

"You !@&$£ YOU LITTLE PIECE OF CRAP THAT HURT LIKE A &$!1&$& COULDN'T YOU HAVE ****** TRIED?" He screamed. His face was red from yelling and he looked a little winded. He muttered some curses as I bandaged his other wounds. He stared at me bitterly. "Professional my ass." He said as I started closing the medkit.

"Do you want me to kiss your boo boo and make it feel better?" I teased. I placed the medkit in a chest and sat back at the side of the bed.

Keefe smirked. "How about right here?" He said, before pointing to the cut above his lip.

I moaned. "You're useless."

"Not unless you come in here with me." He said, raising a suggestive eyebrow.

"I'm done with this crap, you've gone insane from the fumes of that antiseptic probably." I got up.

As I walked out of the tent, I heard Keefe say something. "Don't deny it Foster, you'll be coming back to me tonight!" He said in a mocking tone, causing me to flush red.

Linh giggled as she met me at my side once more. "The whole camp heard that." She said in her whispery tone.

I flushed and stopped walking. "Wait what?"

"The whole camp heard that. By the way, you may have some angry parents complaints."

"That damn idiot." I said while facepalming. "Today's  been awful."

The edge of Linh's lip tugged up in a smile. "Wanna raid a tax collectors office? I know it makes you happy to see Fintan pissed off." She said.

I smirked. "You know what, that sounds great right now. Let's get Tam and Dex, and head off." Linh smirked. "You know me too well." I said with a sigh.

-

I raced through the woods, my cloak billowing behind me. Linh was on my right, Dex next to her. Tam followed quietly from behind. I slowed to a stop and held up my hand. We were in front of a large wooden building surronded by patrols. I gave a signal to the others, and Tam surrounded us in shadows.

We channeled energy and sped past the patrols. Tam and Linh had their weapons drawn. Let's just say that the patrols didn't look so pretty after we passed them. A maniacal laugh escaped my lips as we took down the final guards. My hood fell but I didn't care, the wind felt good in my long hair. We quickly raided the large office quickly, bags of coins clinking against our legs.

Just as we were running off, I swear I heard a cackle and the glint of Everblaze, but it was gone as soon as I had seen it. We ran back into the shadows of the welcoming forest.
