She got to his place by 1:30pm and he still wasn't back. She would have just left this matter o, but people are waiting for these payments, the contractors need to pay their workers salary, it won't be nice if the payment gets delayed. She had already messed up by not giving him the cheques on Monday.

She called him and he said there was some delay at the CDS so he couldn't leave early. He apologized, said she was right about the traffic, begged her to wait. She decided to wait outside in her car. She's not going to set herself up again by entering his den. Lol.

By 2:15pm she got tired of waiting in the car and she was thirsty so she decided to enter the house. She entered through the ground floor, she looked around the living room a little, his house is very modern but warm at the same time she liked the décor. There was an almost empty glass of whiskey and an empty mug of coffee on the side table beside some business newspapers. She checked and saw that they were today's paper.

Did he mix whiskey and coffee? Is that even healthy? She wondered to herself.

She wanted to get something to drink from the kitchen so she carried the glass and mug up to the kitchen with her, placed them in the sink first then opened his fridge.

She noticed that most of the drinks in his fridge were all those freshly squeezed green drinks.

She chuckled Looks like someone is a heavy drinker she thought to herself.

She knows he is not a fit-fam member, he has never said anything about dieting or working out. So definitely a heavy drinker, she knows this because those are her Saturday morning hangover cure too lol.

She was able to find a bottle of orange juice behind all the hangover remedy so she grabbed it and poured herself a glass. When she finished she washed all the glasses in the sink and went back to living room downstairs. He called immediately to inform her he was about 15minutes away so she started organizing the cheques.

No time to waste once he gets here he will sign and she'll be on her way to the Bank.

"I am so sorry'' he said as he walked in. It was already 15minutes to 3pm. He was wearing his NYSC shirt and khaki pants he had taken off the boots by the door and was wearing only the socks....she was getting distracted.

''You were right, the traffic is crazy'' he said in frustration. She just looked at him without saying anything shey he has coconut head.

''Let me have the cheques'' He said and she handed them to him there were six of them.

He signed the first two then paused.

''This is totally unnecessary, why can't we do this online?" He asked.

Chief hates internet banking stuff every other payment that Mr. Richard authorizes is done online but, she didn't tell him that.

''Transaction limit issues... I guess'' She shrugged.

''Is that what the bank said?'' He continued signing ''or that is just a restriction self-imposed by Mr. Bakare?'' He looked up at her.

She kept quiet. The old man is not comfortable with internet banking, and to be honest she understands why he prefers cheques. Before he will go and forget password or give it to scammers. This is what works for Chief he should not drag their Chief  abeg.

''I know he hates internet banking'' He signed the final one and returned them to her.

She smiled. So he knows, why he is asking her then. He looked a little bit tired.

''What did your CDS group do today? You look tired'' She said as she tidied up the papers to put back in her bag.

''We distributed mosquito nets and hand sanitizers in a school''

She nodded then stood up and carried her bag. ''Thanks, I'll head to the bank now''

''wait, do you have to go to the Bank yourself?'' He asked seriously.

''Yes'' She said firmly.

''Why though, I've signed the cheques someone else can take them, like Ada or your driver, my driver?"

''I have to sign a disbursement form too in the bank'' She said. Yeah if she submits it without signing they won't process the payment.

''What the fuck is a disbursement form?" He looked very irritated ''Sorry what... what is a disbursement form?''

''Who is our banking officer with this bank?" He pulled out his phone.

''urrm Mr. Tomi Stanbic'' she answered. Tomi is the branch manager that handles their account, if they close their accounts with the bank that one will definitely be demoted lol. A Lagos big boy, he got married in a grand wedding 2 years back, he used to toast her before.. small small but she was with Wale at the time so she didn't give him face plus he was not that serious too. It was just surface toasting. Lol.

''Wait, let me call him to understand what this whole thing is about'' He searched his phone for the Bank Manager's number and dialed it.

''Sit down now'' He said to her.

She hesitated first it was almost 3pm she needed to hurry to the bank, get it done and head back to the office before rush hour traffic starts. But she sat down anyway. Honestly she'd like it too if they can start doing this online it is actually stressful for her.

''Hello Tomi'' He put the phone on speaker because he was reading emails at the same time.

''Boss! Good afternoon Sir!'' Mr. Tomi said into the phone enthusiastically.

''Quick question, going forward, can we start running these USD contractor payments online?" He said switching to his professional tone, he started sounding like the Mr. Madaki she knows. But the corper uniform made it difficult for her view him as Mr. Madaki in that moment.

''Absolutely! Yes sir'' Mr. Tomi answered.

''Good, so I have some cheques for this month with me, why do you need us to come down to the bank for something called a disbursement form again"

''Urrm urrm, Sir it's just extra layer of...errm it's fff f for security...I can'' The Banker was panicking, his voice was shaking lol.

''Tomi, we are very busy people please streamline your processes'' He said seriously and she couldn't help but smile. See how he is stressing the guy.

''I am very sorry Sir, please, let me send my Staff to come and pick up the cheques, you don't need to sign the disbursement form, I will run it immediately it gets here'' Tobi said and her hand flew to her mouth as her jaw dropped.

''Really?" Dare said then looked up at her as a smile formed on his face.

''Yes Sir, please, are you in the office? We will come to you.''

''No, I'm in my house, i'll text the address to you'' Dare said ''Also, please can you make sure they get the payments on or before Friday?"

''Sure, certainly Sir I will run it myself'' The Banker said breathlessly.

''Thank you Tomi'' He hung up then forwarded his address to the Banker.

Sofi leaned back on the couch and folded her arms across her chest. E choke!

He looked at her, holding back his smile.

''Go ahead, laugh at me'' She nodded

''Come here" he tapped his laps but she didn't move so he closed the distance between them and carried her onto his laps.

''This is so unfair'' She ranted ''for the past 3 years I have had to go down to the bank every single month, even when I am on leave to sign that stupid form''

''Maybe they just want an excuse to be seeing your pretty face every month'' He joked.
She glared at him ''be serious now, this is not funny''

''I am serious... can't blame him though. I'd do anything to see you every freaking second of the day, even if it means creating lame forms you have to sign'' He said, casually and shamelessly casting himself considering the fact that he dragged her here too when he could have just branched the office to sign the forms.

But she was glad this happened because now that he has exposed Tomi she won't have to deal with that headache again, plus they'll switch to internet banking.

''Didn't you miss me?'' He added softly looking her straight in the eye.

She smiled, he looked so freaking handsome and chill in the copper uniform and she was so drawn to him in that moment so she threw all caution to the wind and kissed him.

He kissed her back, slowly but intensely, his hands started unbuttoning her chiffon blouse and he released one breast form her bra then his mouth covered it immediately and she moaned.
