Tails was patiently waiting for Sonic to come home. He was was used to Sonic coming back home earlier than this. Tails even had to re-heat Sonic's food when he got home.

"Sonic, my dear friend, please come back..."

*Time Skip*

Sonic walked through the door only to be greeted by Tails.

"Evening Buddy!"

"Hi Sonic! I cooked you up some chili dogs."

"Thank you Bud." Sonic gave his traditional thumbs-up pose.

Tails loved it when Sonic does that. It makes him feel better about the stress he goes through. "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Today, Friday. The stress was worse than falling off cliffs, and magically appearing in the air flying.

"So Sonic... I need to tell you someth-"

Then, a wrecking ball slams through the wall.

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" Eggman laughs.

"Hmph! Come in with the classic wrecking ball?"

"Never!"

The wrecking ball turned into a robot. A very stupid-looking one at the least.

"What's that thing gonna do? Give me hugs?" Sonic yelled at Eggman.

"Why you little..." Eggman growled as the robot gained an energy shield and an elemental sword.

"Woah! I guess I spoke too soon. Tails, you ready to kick butt?"

"Been ready."

Tails starts flying and Sonic grabs hold of his hands.

"C'mon! Step it up!"

The robot jumps up in the air, ready to attack.

"Tails! Initiate maneuver 466220!

"Got you covered!"

Tails spun around as fast as he could and threw Sonic, who was in a ball, straight at the robot. But the attack only dented the shield.

"Hrr... He's too strong."

"We can't just give up though."

"You're right bud."

"Ha! You guys are pathetic against my ultimate robot." Eggman yelled at them.

"How do you know if your old pile of scrap metal is going to win against us."

"Just check this out."

The robot set on fire, but didn't burn out.

"What are you planning Egghead?"

"I will burn your house to the ground."

"Not on my watch," Tails informed and used his pyro-kinetic laser rifle to short-circuit the robot.

"Power level and element, 85 and physical."

"I'll get you next time you nerdy fox and you blue pincushion.

"And I'm proud of it!" Tails yelled back.

Tails and Sonic are so worn out from the battle and the aftermath of the laser, that they pass out on the ground.

*Time Skip*

Sonic and Tails wake up in their own beds.

Tails yawned.

Sonic yawned.

They both hear a noise outside. While walking through the hallway to the stairs, the run into each other on accident.

"Whoops! Sorry Buddy!"

"I-It's okay. Sonic, there been something I've been meaning to tell you for a long time. I-I... I love you, Sonic the Hedgehog. With all my heart. You probably hate me now... don't you..."

"Tails... nothing will ever make me hate you, and nor will our friendship end. In fact, for all of things we did together, every single moment is precious to me. I do love you Tails."

Tails didn't know what to say. He just stared into his lover's emerald eyes. After that, Tails kissed him like there was no tomorrow. In this world, it was heaven. Sonic returned the kiss, eager to what they would do in the future.

A/N I'm sorry it's not the longest chapter in the world, but at least it's 500 words. I'm proud of myself. The next chapter will be longer, I promise. :)
