Weak in the Knees - Tig

Warning: mentions of abusive exes.

Description: A high school friend of Jax's shows up at the lot looking for protection when she meets Tig.

"Do you trust her?" Clay asked Jax.

"No, but I trust her anger. If she says that fuckin Mayan hurt her, he did," Jax responded. I'd been sitting at the bar with my jaw clenched and my fists frozen in place. Jax and I had been high school friends and I knew he was the only one I could turn to when I found out the guy who assaulted me was a Mayan.

"I didn't come here for the two of you to question my trustworthiness," I said. "If you can't help me I'll go to the cops."

"Nope," Tig Trager said. I didn't know him well but I certainly knew of him.

"Then fucking do something about this asshole or I will."

"Jax, calm your girlfriend," Clay said.

"Not my girlfriend," Jax said. "But hey, darlin, relax. I've got Alvarez pulling him in. He doesn't like woman beaters either, okay babe?"

"No Jackson. It's not okay," I said. I glared at him.

"Grab her a beer," Jax said. He turned to the prospect who handed him a beer.

Jax's phone rang and he had a short conversation.

"Alright Tig, babysit her," Jax said.

"C'mon man," Tig tried to put up a fight.

"Hey, she's precious cargo. Gem finds out something happened to her, we all start singing soprano," Clay said. Jax's mother always had a soft spot for me. She thought I'd make someone a fine old lady some day.

Tig glared at the two men as they left with Happy in tow.

"I'm sorry you got stuck with babysitting," I said, turning and handing the prospect my now empty bottle. "Another please."

He handed me a second beer and grabbed one for Tig as well.

"Not your fault baby."

"Still sucks ass," I said, earning a laugh from him.

"Yeah, guess so."

"How'd you wind up involved with that Mayan anyways?"

"Met him at a party. Wasn't talking to Jax for a while and I've always been a bit of a party girl. I was partying with this girlfriend of mine. She introduced us."

"And?"

"And I thought he was cute. Good with words. Ya know," I said. "We started talking. Hit it off."

I shrugged a bit and he nodded. "And good in bed?"

"Eh," I responded. "Orgasms were hit and miss with him."

"Not worth it."

"Definitely not worth the degrading and the smacking around."

"I'm sorry baby," Tig said, turning on his barstool to face me fully.

I glanced over at him and despite him being old enough to be my father, he was attractive.

"It ain't on you Tiggy," I said.

"You doing okay?"

I nodded a bit. "Yeah, not the first guy to knock me around like that."

"You've gotta get yourself a better guy," he said.

I scoffed at him. "Let me know where to find one."

"I'll keep my eyes open for ya doll."

"Thank you Tig Trager."

He smirked and it made me a little weak in the knees. This damn man has me weak in the knees from one conversation. No other man could do it ever. No wonder the crow eaters hang around so much. Any ounce of charm and they're falling over him.

"What're you doing tonight?"

"Waiting for Jax to get back from solving my problems for me. Because as much of a front as I put on, I can't fucking take care of myself without a man to protect me."

"Fuck men," Tig said. "You don't need us, but you made the right choice doll."

I laughed a little. "Fuck men. My favorite pass time."

He laughed at that. "Wanna pass some time?"

I glanced at him but he was standing up. I took his hand and let him lead me to the back.

About an hour later Jax barged into the room. Luckily Tig had thrown some blankets up over us as we laid together, both of us dozing in and out of it.

"I said babysit. Not fuck her," Jax said.

"Get out," Tig and I both yelled.
