Reunions Aren't All Bad Part 2 - Jax

That Friday rolled around way too quickly and before I knew it I was getting Jessie and I ready to head next door to Jax's place.

I headed out the front door, allowing Jessie to walk across the yard a little ahead of me. She bolted the second she saw Jax.

"Jessica Lynn Teller," I chided. "You can't run off like that."

"But Mommy, he's your friend," she said.

"She's got ya there," Jax said as he held our daughter. She looked so much like him I couldn't deny it if I tried.

"Come on in. I don't bite," Jax said as I stood near his Harley facing him. I rolled my eyes and headed inside with him. He took Jessie into the living room and sat her down on the couch with some toys that she insisted on bringing.

"Looks nice," I said.

"Mom just cleaned it all up for Abels homecoming," he said.

"Abel," I said, still trying to wrap my head around it.

"My son," he said.

I nodded a bit and watched my daughter protectively. "I know. Just trying to picture it."

"Can we talk sometime about all of this?" He asked softly. I nodded a bit and he moved closer to me.

"Jax," I said, warning him to stay where he was.

"I was going to order takeout but I wasn't sure what she'd eat," he said.

"Well, we usually do dinner about an hour from now so I could send her back to mom then and we could get Chinese and talk about this, but for now maybe I should introduce you as Dad," I said.

"You sure?" He asked. I nodded and went in to sit down with Jessie.

"Come here baby," I said. She looked at me and crawled into my lap. Jax sat down at the opposite end of the couch.

"Do you remember Jax?" I asked softly. She nodded and her hair fell into her face. I brushed it back gently.

"Well, Jax and Momma used to be really really good friends," I said. I looked up to Jax and mouthed to ask him if it was okay that I told her. He nodded and I continued.

"Jax is your Daddy sweetheart."

"Daddy?" She asked. He nodded and she moved from my lap to his and started asking a bunch of questions.

Before long I was taking her back to my moms place and explaining that she needed dinner but Jax and I needed to talk. I returned to Jax's place as he finished ordering our food.

"So," I said as I sat down at the table.

"So," he said.

"What are we doing?" I asked.

"I don't know (Y/N)," he said. "I just found out three days ago I have a three year old daughter."

"Wanna know about her?" I asked. He nodded a little so I started talking.

"Well, she was born on January 8 three years ago. She's happy and vibrant as you can tell. She loves pink and sparkles and her freaking unicorn stuffie that my mom bought her and we can not throw it away. She is the best thing to ever happen to me. I'm sorry for ever taking her away from here and you. I was scared and I felt alone and trapped but I couldn't give her up," I said. "I took three years of your daughters life and I'm so sorry."

"You're here now. That's what matters," he said.

"She's a Teller through and through," I said.

"She was really born on January 8?"

I nodded.

"That was-."

"I know."

Thomas Teller had been born on the eighth of January. I should've known then and there that was a sign Jax needed to be in her life but I couldn't get over myself.

Our food arrived and we started talking about ourselves and catching up on everything. Even once we finished dinner, we continued to talk for a while.

"I meant what I said the other day," Jax said.

"So did I," I said. "I haven't been with anyone since you. Maybe it's the toddler but it could also be the mental block of getting over you."

"Now you don't have to," he said.

"What?"

"I want you (Y/N)," he said. "It's always been you. I was ready to get married to you and I just got pissed and started fucking Wendy and I was a dick to you cause I was pissed. I'm sorry."

"You don't need to apologize, Jax. That went both ways," I said.

"Please, give me a shot before you leave again and take our daughter with you," he said. I nodded and went to hug him. His lips found mine and before I could object we were in his bedroom.

"Ya see (Y/N)," he said as we laid in his bed together later on. "Reunions aren't all bad."

"This one wasn't," I said. "But Gemma will be pissed when she finds out she has a granddaughter."

"We cross that bridge when we get to it," he said. It fell silent for a few minutes between us.

"What are we Jax?" I asked.

"Boyfriend and girlfriend if you'll have me again," he said.

"Aren't you married?"

"I filed over a year ago. It'll be finalized in a month," he said, referring to his divorce.

"Okay, on the grounds that we take things slow, especially with Jessie and Abel."

"Agreed," he said before leaning over to kiss me again.
