Reunions Aren't All Bad - Jax
Description: You had a daughter with Jax but he doesn't know because he was sleeping with Wendy so you left, but now you have to return to Charming.
I can't believe that I have to return to that damn town after four years away. My sister wound up in the hospital because she got drunk and jumped off a roof and somehow it's my problem so I have to drag my daughter back to Charming for god only knows how long.
"Come on baby," I said picking her up from her bed and carrying her and two bags out to the car. It's only four in the morning but I have to get to Charming today.
I started the five hour drive in the dark. I managed to drive straight through and I was in Oakland before Jessica was awake.
"Momma," Jessie said as she woke up. I reached over and shut the radio off.
"Good morning baby," I said.
"Where we going?" She asked.
"We are going to see my sister and my mom," I said. "Remember your aunt and grandma?"
"Why?" She asked.
"Your aunt is in the hospital so we had to come be here," I said. She nodded and wiped her eyes, trying to push her hair out of her face. She had her fathers blonde hair. I smiled a little at his memory.
We'd gotten into a fight and broken up right before I left. I was on my way to make up and tell him I was pregnant when I found him with Wendy. I left and never looked back. Jessie was my priority now. She had to be.
"Momma," she said after a few minutes. "We get breakfast?"
"We can get breakfast when we get into Charming. Let me call Grandma real quick, okay?" She seemed happy and I grabbed my cell and dialed my moms number.
"Hey momma," I said the second she picked up.
"Oh baby," she said.
"We just got through Oakland. We're almost there. How's she doing?" I asked.
"Good. She's up. Only broke her leg. She's coming home later today," she said.
"Momma, you made it sound like she was dying," I said lowly so Jessie didn't hear me.
"Look, I'm at the house. I'll got get some breakfast started and then the two of you can hang out here while I pick your sister up," she said. She was playing innocent.
"We'll be there soon Momma," I said. I hung up my phone and stuck it back in my purse that was in the passenger seat.
"Guess what baby," I said to Jessie.
"What Momma?"
"Grandma is making breakfast. We'll be there very soon," I said. She seemed content and we finished out the drive in peace.
When we arrived at the house I grew up in, I was glaring daggers at the bike parked next door. I knew that Harley anywhere.
"Hey there baby," my mom said as she ran out the door.
"Hi Momma," I said as I got out and headed around to get Jessie out of the car.
"Grandma," Jessie cheered as I sat her down and she ran over to my mother.
"Grandma?" His voice rang out behind me.
"Jax," my mother said happily as she picked Jessie up.
"Hello Jackson," I said bitterly as I turned around.
"(Y/N)," he said. "Long time no see."
"Been living up north," I said.
"Since you disappeared on us all?" He asked.
"Momma, take Jessie in and feed her. She hasn't had breakfast yet," I said.
My mom nodded and tried to invite Jax in but he declined.
"I tried to come back to you but you were already shaking up with Wendy so," I said.
"So, what? You thought it was okay to disappear?"
"I did what was best for me and my daughter," I said.
"She's mine isn't she?" He asked. I nodded a little and he got pissed.
"How could you not tell me?" He snapped.
"I tried Jackson. I tried. I didn't disappear after I caught you with Wendy I tried fixing things with you for two fucking months and you wouldn't say a damn word to me. Now you're living next door to my mom, probably still playing house with Wendy. Or, did Tara fucking Knowles roll back into town looking for her savior in leather?" I asked. I was pissed and I had four years of built up rage to unleash on this man.
"Wendy's in rehab. Never got over her addiction to crank. It damn near killed my son. As for Tara, she's long fucking gone from this town and from my heart. We both know that," he said.
"Son?" I asked, shocked.
"His names Abel. He's in the NICU still. He has the Teller heart defect and his stomach was all messed up from Wendy shooting up," he said.
"Remind me to take Jessie to the cardiologist," I said.
"Jessie?" He asked.
"Jessica Lynn Teller," I said. "You can meet her sometime if you'd like."
"I'd love to," he said. "You in town for a while?"
"My damn sister jumped off a roof drunk. I think so," I said.
"Um I gotta go, but Friday night, dinner, my place?"
"Sure we'll be there," I said.
"Oh, and for the record, I never stopped loving you," he said.
"Neither did I Jackson. Now go before Clay gets pissed at me." He chuckled a little bit headed back to his bike.
I walked into the house and my mother met me at the door.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you he was living next door to me now," she said.
"It's alright," I said. "But don't make plans for me and Jess on Friday."
"What?"
"She deserves a relationship with her father," I said and I walked into the kitchen where Jessie was eating some pancakes. She was wearing the syrup and it was definitely in her hair.
"Hey there pretty girl," I said. "You're gonna need a shower."
"No Momma," she protested as I got myself some coffee.
I sighed a little and sat down. My mother joined us and we spent some time together before settling into my old bedroom. I bathed Jessie and got her dressed for the day before going with my mother to the hospital to pick up my sister.
"Hey there sis," she said. "And my favorite niece."
"We made a special exception to my No Charming rule for you," I said.
"And she's already got plans with Jax," my mom said. I rolled my eyes but sat down and started to catch up with my sister as my mother filled out the paperwork for her discharge.
I had a sinking feeling this short trip to Charming was about to become never ending.
