Not Tonight - Kozik

Requested by RyceMichaels

Description: Opie's half sister on his father's side returns to Charming after her mother passes away.

I'd been driving since five o'clock this morning and it was nearing nine pm when I pulled into the Teller Morrow lot. There were some motorcycles outside and I hoped and prayed this damn clubhouse was the same as the last time I'd visited Piney ten years ago. I parked my car and walked towards the clubhouse, knowing full well that I'd be greeted at the door.

"What can I do for ya lass?" Chibs asked as he met me a few steps outside the door. There were a couple guys sitting at the picnic table a few feet away. I didn't recognize them so I figured they were new.

"It's me Chibs. (Y/N) Winston," I said. I knew I sounded as exhausted as I felt. To be honest I wasn't sure how I hadn't passed out while driving. Thankfully I'd never have to make that trip again.

"Why didn't ya start with that love," he said. "Your dad is in the bar. Sorry about your Ma. She was a good woman."

"Thanks Chibs," I said. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and led me inside.

Sure enough my dad was sitting at the bar talking to my half brother. I walked up to them and stood between them, instantly being wrapped in a bear hug by Opie.

"Bro, you're gonna squash me like a bug," I said.

"That's for not coming around in ten years," he said. "How're ya doing?"

"Not the best. I'm exhausted and everything with Ma," I said. Both men just nodded.

"I'm sorry about all that. If you need anything from Lyla or I," he said.

"Thanks," I said barely whispering as my eyes started to water.

"Can I get you a drink?" A blonde asked as he walked behind the bar.

"Got anything other than shitty beer?" I asked.

"Get her a Jack and Coke," my dad said.

The blonde nodded and made the drink for me. "I'm Kozik by the way."

"(Y/N)," I said.

He smiled a bit at me before walking away.

"Where do you plan on staying?" Piney asked.

"I'll get a hotel room for a few nights. Then an apartment til I can afford a house," I said.

"Nonsense," he said. "I've got plenty of open rooms. You can take one."

"I don't want to burden you," I said. He'd told my Ma I was a burden the last summer I came to visit in high school because he couldn't be off doing reckless club shit constantly.

"Hey, I didn't mean it the way it came across," he said.

"You still said it," I said. "I've worked through a lot of my shit. I'm here to be closer to you both. Just gonna take time."

They agreed and I grabbed my drink and went outside. I sat down on the edge of the boxing ring and drank it slowly as I watched the night sky.

"Hey pretty girl," Kozik said as he walked up.

"I'm really not in the mood for a lecture on female submission right now," I said harshly.

"Good thing I'm not here to give you one than," he said. "Just wanted to talk."

"About what?"

"What's your deal?"

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't be taking my shit out on you or on them, but it's been a long fucking month," I said. "Always been just Ma and I. Now it's just me."

"You've got a place in this family if you want it," he said. "Hell Tig and I still don't like each and they let me in."

"You're the surfer bastard he hates?"

Kozik chuckled a bit and nodded. "The one and only."

"Where is he?"

"We've got five guys inside right now. Get out in five months," he said.

"That's why everyone's so tense," I said. He nodded. "Makes sense I guess."

We sat in silence on the boxing ring for a while before my brother came out and headed off on his bike.

"You got any gauge on how he's doing?" I asked. I knew he was a mess after Donna was killed but I wasn't sure how he was anymore. We've always been decently close but living as far apart as we did made it difficult.

"Better. Lyla's a good girl. Keeps him whole most the time," Kozik said. I nodded a bit.

"Must be you don't have a man if you just uprooted your whole life," he said.

"No," I said. "Been too focused on taking care of Ma in her last years that I haven't had time to date."

He just nodded and let it fall silent.

A few minutes later he spoke up again. "Do you wanna go for a ride?"

"Not tonight. I spent 16 hours on the road today. I'd just like some sleep."

"You can stay here in a dorm," he said. "I'll tell Piney I told you ya could. Not a big deal."

"I'll go to the hotel," I said.

"Let me follow you out there then and make sure you're okay," he said. I agreed and we took the glasses back inside before we headed out to the hotel. I got a room and headed up to it. Kozik had followed me.

"Do you want to stay for a bit?" I asked. He agreed and we headed into the room. I collapsed on the bed and we talked for a while more just getting to know one another.

"Can I take you out sometime?" He asked. I nodded and he leaned down and pressed a kiss to my lips. I smiled into the brief kiss and relaxed a bit as his hand made its way to the back of my head, deepening the kiss more.
