Muse - Happy
Description: Happy's best friend is Gemma Teller Morrow and Clay Morrow's daughter. They admit to their feelings one night when hiding from a SAMCRO party together.
"Ma, I'm gonna crank out some homework at the bar," I said, hugging her quickly before heading into the clubhouse without waiting for an answer.
I sat down at the bar with my laptop on the wooden counter. I grabbed a notebook and my pencil bag from my book bag and set to work on some reading assignments. I got one of the prospects to get me some water.
I'd been working for a few hours when the door opened. The guys had been in and out to get drinks or smokes so I didn't think anything of it as I bounced around a little on my barstool. I couldn't sit still. I'd been focusing for too long.
Strong arms wrapped tightly around my waist causing me to squeak and jumped as he pulled me off my seat.
"Put me down," I squealed a little as he chuckled. I knew it was Happy. He only ever laughed when I was around.
He finally sat me down and stood with his chest to my back as he looked at what I was doing. He kept his arms around my waist and we stayed there for a while as I continued to work.
"When'd you sleep last?" I asked.
"Drove through the night. Took a nap about noon yesterday," he said.
"Hap," I said, drawing the syllable out. "Go nap. I'll wake you before the party."
"Come," he said, grabbing my hand. I packed my stuff back into my bag and followed him to his dorm room. He dropped his stuff on the bathroom counter and shut the door to probably shower before laying down. I sat down at his desk and grabbed my stuff back out, getting back to work.
When Happy returned, I was working on a paper, so he picked me up and dropped me on his bed.
"Break time," he said. He pulled me into him and forced me to lay with him.
"Missed you doofus," I said.
"Missed you too little girl," he said. I curled up into his side and relaxed as he traced soft patterns on my side where my crop top got pushed up when I laid down.
About an hour later, Happy was asleep. I tried to wiggle out of his arms but he had his arms locked around me and there was no use in even trying. I relaxed into his chest and fell asleep there, finally caving to the fact that I needed a break.
When we woke up a couple hours later, there was a party going on down the hall already. I definitely wasn't impressed with the guys for being so loud.
"Morning girl," he said.
"It's like 6 pm," I said.
"Dinner?"
"Will you order takeout? I'll-."
"Chinese?" I nodded a little and wiped my eyes as he grabbed his phone to place the order. I pulled my legs up to my body and leaned against the headboard, pulling a pillow into my lap.
When he hung up the phone, I pointed to my laptop and he brought it over to me as he grabbed a sketchbook from his bag.
"You gonna tell anyone you ordered that?" I asked, opening my laptop and starting to reread what I was working on earlier.
He just shook his head as he looked up at me. I nodded and went back to typing for the half an hour or so until our dinner arrived.
We walked out of the dorm together to go get the food and Happy went to grab it, weaving through the crowd with ease. He was a man on a mission so no one would mess with him.
"Two beers please," I said to the prospect working the bar. "Actually make that a six pack and two waters."
"Can't doll," he said. He must be new.
"I'll get it myself," I said.
"No," he said. A hand came to rest on my hip and I knew it was Happy.
"Whatever she asked for," he said, glaring at the now shaking prospect.
The kid got our drinks and Happy grabbed the six packs and I got the waters. "For the record, I'm Clay's daughter. Don't deny me again."
He just nodded and I turned to walk down the hall with Happy.
"You got something other than jeans?" He asked as he sat the food down on the desk. I nodded and he just looked at me.
"Dads dorm. My duffel-." I was going to tell him where it was but he just walked out of the room.
I stood up, giving up on homework for the night, but plugging my laptop in to charge on the desk. I ran to the bathroom while Happy was gone. When I'd washed my hands and returned he was standing at the desk sorting through the food.
He just looked up and motioned to the bed where my bag sat. I grabbed some athletic shorts and a sports bra out of it before returning to the bathroom. The clubhouse is air conditioned but sharing a bed creates a lot of body heat. I changed and piled my clothes together on the floor, figuring I'd throw them in my bag in the morning.
I returned and I noticed Happy's eyes grazing down my body before he snapped out of it. I threw my bag down on the floor by his dresser.
"After dinner, unpack," he said.
"I live five minutes down the road. I'm only here cause our internet is out and I was supposed to go to the party. Didn't know you were coming in," I said.
"Neither did I," he said. I just nodded. He was in town on club business.
"How long?"
"Don't know," he said. He handed me a takeout container. He had split everything between us. I smiled at him and we sat on the floor. There was no eating in his bed.
As we ate, I told him a little about what had happened with me since the last time he was here.
"You staying nomad?"
He looked up at me over the container in his hand. He swallowed and just stared at me as I took another bite.
"Been thinking," he said. "What if I put down some roots?"
"Here?"
He just nodded. He reached over and put his hand on my leg. "Nowhere else I'd wanna be."
I smiled at him and placed my hand on his. "I'd love to spend more time together Hap." He just nodded and smiled slightly. He wanted that too.
When we finished eating and Happy opened his second beer, we cleaned up a little and moved to his bed.
"What were you drawing earlier?" I asked. He handed me the sketchbook.
"Hap," I said. I smiled at the drawing of me with my hair flying all over the place sitting with my laptop in my lap.
"You're my muse," he said. He flipped to some other drawings he'd done of me. Usually me doing other things like reading or working.
"These are beautiful," I said.
I turned a few more pages back and found tattoo designs. He was quick to grab the book out my hands.
"What's that?"
"Nothing," he said gruffly. I just shook my head and leaned against him.
"Hap, will you do some more ink for me?"
He just nodded and flipped through some pages. He held the open book towards me. There was a design that contained some flowers and a scythe.
"That's pretty," I said. "Any more?"
He just nodded. And showed me some more designs but I kept coming back to the first.
"Tomorrow little girl," he said. "If I get patched here-."
"When," I said. "When you patch here." I slid closer to him and placed my hand on his cheek, making him look at me. "You're gonna get to patch here."
He just nodded. I wiped his cheek with my thumb gently.
"What's on your mind?" I asked softly.
He just shook his head and brought his hand up to my neck and pulled me gently into a kiss.
"I'm so-." I cut him off with another kiss.
"Don't be," I said. "I'm not one of the croweaters Hap and if we're gonna be together there's a lot we need to talk through, but don't apologize for kissing me."
He nodded a little and leaned down to kiss me again. I was pulled into his lap and his arms wrapped around me tightly.
"Thank you," I said softly before I nuzzled into his chest.
