Make Em Pay Part 1 - Happy

Warnings: Kidnapping, bullet wounds, violence, mentions of substance abuse

Description: You and Happy have an infant daughter who gets kidnapped.

I woke up to some noise in the hallway.

"Happy?" I yelled, grabbing the gun off the nightstand and making my way into the hallway while calling Happy.

"Babe," Happy said, answering his phone.

"Hap someone's in the house," I said as I heard shuffling in my daughters room. I took off for her room. I was maybe ten feet from the door when two guys walked out, with her in the arms of the second.

"Baby," Happy said before yelling and rounding up the guys.

"Put her down," I said. I leveled the gun at the chest of the first one but I couldn't take the shot with my daughter that close. He produced a gun and shot me first. I fell backwards, the gun clattering out of my hand as I grabbed my right shoulder.

The two took off as I tried to grab my gun again but I couldn't use my arm at all.

My five year old son peeked his head out of his door as I tried to stand up.

"Momma," he said before running to me.

"Grab my phone baby," I said. He handed it to me and I propped myself up against the wall.

"Hap?" I asked. The line had gone dead.

"Adam, go get me a towel please," I said he ran down to the closet and grabbed a towel, running back to me.

"Momma, did they take Ava?" Adam asked. I pressed my lips together and nodded a little. I put the towel around my shoulder, applying as much pressure as I could to try and help with the bleeding.

"Why?"

"I don't know baby," I said. The door busted open and Chibs and Tig ran over.

"Happy's on their trail," Chibs said. "Let me see."

He moved the towel to look at my shoulder. "In and out. That's good. We'll have to take ya to the clubhouse and have Tara stitch ya up."

"Tig, there's a bag in the bottom of my closet. Black duffel," I said. "It's got clothes for everyone and some cash."

He headed to the bedroom to grab it.

"Adam baby," I said. "We've gotta go to the clubhouse okay?"

"Blankie," he said and took off for Ava's room. He ran into his room next as Chibs helped me to my feet.

"For Ava when Daddy finds her," Adam said. I nodded and Tig picked him up.

"My keys are by the door," I said. Chibs nodded and grabbed them as we walked by.

"Can you keep the pressure on that?" Chibs asked as Tig loaded Adam into his seat.

I nodded as Chibs ran around and got in. Tig hopped on his bike and Chibs flew to the clubhouse.

He helped me into the clubhouse and Tara was already waiting in Church.

"Damn," she said as Chibs helped me onto the table.

"Here, give her some local," Tara said. "Tig take the kid to a dorm or something."

"I'm staying with Momma," he said.

"Don't make him leave," I said. Tig sat down in one of the chairs and held Adam as Chibs put the needle into my shoulder.

"You gotta take your shirt off lass," Chibs said. It was soaked through with blood anyway. I nodded and he cut the material, pulling it away from my skin gently.

I had a sports bra on, but that had been soaked in blood too.

"You can cut that if you need too," I said.

"Just this strap," he said, cutting the strap off the bra.

Tara started trying to stitch up my back, but her hand still hasn't recovered fully.

"Here," Chibs said, placing his hand on top of hers gently. "Walk me through it."

As Chibs worked on stitching the exit wound, I nearly fell asleep. I was drained but I needed to stay awake for when they found my baby. I glanced up at Tig and Adam every so often, more to make sure Adam was still there than anything else.

"Alight lass, just gotta stitch up the front here," Chibs said. I nodded and he helped me move to my back.

After another half an hour, Chibs had my shoulder stitched up.

"Thanks man," I said.

"How're ya feeling love?" He asked.

"Like I've been shot," I said. He chuckled a little before heading out to clean his hands up.

"Here," Tara said. She slid a shoulder immobilizer onto my arm and waist as she explained what I needed to do to tend to the wound.

"And I can get you some pain meds," she said.

"No," I said. "I can't."

They'd been my vice for a long time before I met Happy and settled down.

"Okay," she said. "Then take Tylenol as needed."

I nodded and Chibs walked back in.

"Here ya go lass," he said, opening a water bottle for me.

"Thanks," I said. I took a few drinks.

"Where's my bag?" I asked. "Hap should have a shirt that I can just slip on over this."

"It's in the car still man," Tig said. Chibs nodded and headed out. I heard some commotion but I didn't really have the energy to get up. Chibs was shouting about something and Happy walked in with our babygirl in his arms.

"Thank god," I said and started sobbing. Happy walked over and held me and Ava.

"Are you okay baby?" He asked.

"Just a minor GSW," I said. "No big deal, but thank you for finding her. All of you."

I looked around the room at all of the guys who'd rescued my daughter.

"It was all Happy," Jax said.

"Adam brought one of her blankets," I said, nodding towards Tig and Adam. Happy turned to them and took the blanket, wrapping Ava in it.

"Here ya go lass," Chibs said, helping me slide Happy's shirt on to cover my body. Happy placed Ava in my left arm and went to Tig, taking Adam from him.

"Daddy?" Adam asked softly.

"I'm right here buddy," he said.

"Ava's gone," he said sadly.

"No she isn't," Happy said. "I brought her back."

"What?" He asked. He looked at me and Ava and smiled.

"Momma, your arm," he said.

"It'll be okay buddy," I said. "I promise."

The guys started to clear out a bit and Happy walked over to stand in front of me.

"If you need to go handle this, I'll stay here with a prospect or Chibs or something," I said.

"Yeah, I'll help you get em down. Bobby volunteered to stay here," Happy said.

"Gee, I wonder why," I said sarcastically as I stood up.

"Can you get someone to bring me some food?" I asked.

"What do ya want?" He asked.

"I'm just hungry," I said.

"Bobby," Happy said, walking over and handing Bobby some money and giving him instructions. Happy and I walked, side by side in case I stumbled or something, back to the dorms. He unlocked and opened the door to his dorm and we headed in. He laid Adam down on the couch before grabbing Avas bassinet and bringing it to the edge of the bed.

He took her from my arms and laid her down.

"Thank you Happy," I said.

"Me? You took a bullet trying to protect her. I should be thanking you," he said.

"You brought our babygirl home, that's all that matters right now," I said. Happy leaned over and kissed me gently.

"Let me see," he said, grabbing the hem of the shirt and pushing it up over my shoulder.

"Damn baby, you really did a number," he said.

"I figure once they heal up they oughta give you some good tattoo ideas," I said. He chuckled at that.

"Of course they will baby," he said.

It fell silent for a bit between us. He doesn't talk much as is and today's been hell on us.

"You can go if you need too. We'll be okay til you get back."

"There's a prospect downstairs and Bobby will be back with your food soon," Happy said.

"Baby," I said. "Make em fucking pay."

He nodded and kissed my head before leaving.
