Learned About Ya - Happy
Description: Happy has a family the club doesn't know about, but when he's about to do time for the club, he needs his family protected. That means they have to meet the club.
I heard his bike pull in and our daughter Aaliyah jumped and ran to the door. I swear some days she's trying to get kidnapped. I moved from the kitchen so I had a line of sight to the door. Happy opened it and immediately picked Aaliyah up. I smiled a bit at the two and went back to making lunch.
"Aaliyah baby, go play for a minute," Hap said. He sat her down and she went to her toys.
"You need to spend time with her Hap," I said.
"I know. I'm going to," he said. "That's why I came home early." A bunch of the guys were turning themselves in in a few days and they were going to have to do about a 12 month prison sentence.
"I'm serious Hap. She won't see you for a year," I said. "And I know neither of us want her to see you in lock up."
He grunted a little in response.
"I'm going to take her to ride her bike this afternoon."
I rolled my eyes and went back to making lunch.
"There's something else."
I turned to look at my husband.
"I want the two of you protected while I'm inside. I think it's time the club learned about ya," he said.
"Really?"
"When it was just you and I, I knew Koz or Quinn would protect you," he said. "Neither of us would survive losing her."
"So what, you just want us to show up on the lot?"
"Yeah pretty much," he said.
"Are you sure about this?"
He nodded before walking off to get Aaliyah as I made up three plates.
After we ate, Happy told me to give him a fifteen minute head start and then pack Aaliyah and her bike into my truck and meet him on the lot. I agreed and he kissed my lips before saying goodbye to our daughter.
I let her run around for about ten minutes, knowing full well she'd fall asleep on the half hour ride into Charming.
"Aaliyah," I said. "Wanna go see Daddy some more?" She cheered a little and I told her she needed to go change out of her clothes she'd stained at lunch. We headed to her room and she picked out an AC/DC shirt and some shorts. I helped her change before putting some sneakers on her feet.
"Should we take your bike so Daddy can help you some more?"
She nodded, clearly excited by the thought of riding her bike more.
"Let's go munchkin," I said, sliding some sandals on and grabbing my purse as I locked up and we headed to the garage. I handed her her helmet before putting her bike on the back of the truck. She fought with me about her seatbelt but I ultimately got her buckled in and we headed off towards Charming.
Happy had always been insistent on living out in the woods, so the ride into Charming was a bit of a long one. That's why I made the trip only a few times a month. Lodi was closer and it was easier to keep myself and Aaliyah hidden from SAMCRO if we stayed out of Charming.
When I pulled onto the Teller Morrow lot, I felt nervous. All eyes were on the truck instantly. Happy luckily jumped into action and met me at the truck the second it was parked.
He opened Aaliyah's door and woke her gently. She cheered and giggled when she saw her father. He held her, walking around and meeting me on my side of the truck.
"You doing okay?"
"Just nervous," I said with a small smile. He kissed my lips and told me to relax.
He carried Aaliyah as he held my hand and led us over to a group of men all in SAMCRO kuttes.
"Everyone, this is my old lady (Y/N), and this is my daughter Aaliyah," Happy said. Some of the guys I'd known from stories and when we lived in Tacoma. Tig was one of them. Happy took the time to introduce everyone anyways.
"Daddy, I wanna swing," Aaliyah said, pointing towards a swing set.
He nodded and let her down, following after her quickly.
"So you're the one with our man on lockdown?" Jax asked.
"Yeah," I said. "Guess so."
"He wants ya protected while we're inside?" Tig asked.
"Yeah," I said. "Before Aaliyah we could get through without too much trouble. SAMTAC knew about us but Happy likes to keep me at arms distance from the club. Doesn't want his shit hurting us. Now with Aaliyah though, he just wants us safe."
The guys nodded and I continued to talk to them as I watched Aaliyah and Happy together. He was a great dad.
"Who is gonna be on the outside?" I asked.
"Opie, Kozik, Piney, Miles," Jax said. "And Tig."
Tig just nodded and walked off to where Hap and Aaliyah were. Before long Tig was talking to Aaliyah, probably trying to get her to warm up to him before Hap went inside.
"We'll keep him whole lass, for you and the wee one," Chibs said.
"Thanks," I said.
He kissed my temple before telling me to go see my family.
Happy kissed my lips the second I got within arms reach. Aaliyah booed and Tig laughed and joined her.
"He's gonna be a bad influence on our girl isn't he?" I asked softly.
"Nah, Tig's good with kids. He'll be good to ya both and he'd die protecting ya."
"I love you Hap," I said. He leaned down and kissed my lips gently before returning the words. The moment was short lived as Aaliyah ran over asking if she could have ice cream.
"That's up to Daddy cause if his brothers give you sugar you become his problem," I said as Happy held her. He wouldn't say no to her. Tig took Aaliyah into his arms and disappeared into the clubhouse. Happy and I were right behind to make sure that she was behaving and that Tig wasn't loading her up on sugar.
