If You Don't Ask - Chibs
Description: An old army buddy of Half-Sack's is on her way to Charming when she lays her own bike down. Luckily the local MC drives by and stops to help her out.
I groaned as I stood up. I slid my helmet off with my right hand as I stared at my damaged bike. Some jackass had ran me off the road and I laid my bike down. My left shoulder was out of place.
"Fuck," I said, staring at the bike as I heard someone approaching. As they neared I realized it was more than one bike.
I sat my helmet down before throwing my shoulder back into place. The damn thing dislocated every few days anymore. I was scheduled to have surgery to fix it in a few months, but the VA wouldn't cover it without PT and months of agony. That meant I'd learned to relocate it myself.
"You okay?" A blonde guy asked as the engines of the motorcycles died. A van rounded the corner and pulled off behind them.
"Yeah," I said. "Some jackass ran me off the road. I don't think the bike's busted too bad."
One of the guys sat it up and started looking at it.
"She can't drive it," he said. He looked at us from under pitch black hair.
"What?" I asked. The way it was laying had covered the damage up.
"You hurt?" Someone with a Scottish accent asked.
"Nothing I can't handle," I said, smirking.
"Shoulder alright?"
"Had to relocate it," I said, sliding the sleeve of my jacket down my arm to reveal my bare arm. My collarbone was sunk in pretty significantly but that was normal anymore.
"Ya need a doctor," he said.
I shook my head. "Old war injury."
"Soldier?" He asked.
"Yeah," I said. "On my way to visit a guy from my platoon. Heard he was living here."
"Who?" He asked, still looking at my shoulder and checking me for other injuries.
"Kip Epps," I said.
"Sack," he hollered and Epps stepped out of the van.
"What?" He asked.
"Epps," I said. "That anyway to greet someone who saved your life?"
"What are you doing here?" He asked, hugging me tightly as I groaned.
"What was that?" The scot asked. I pulled my tank top up to reveal the bruises on my ribs from where I hit the ground.
"Damn love," he said.
"That's nothing," Epps said.
"Should have seen the shoulder," I said.
"We're not sure how she still has an arm," Epps said, his arm around my shoulders still.
"That's fair," I said.
"What'd you do?" The blonde asked.
"IED," I said. "Same one that cost our boy his left ball."
"Which is why we call him Half-Sack," the blonde said. I chuckled and agreed to call him that moving forward.
"I can fix up your bike," the one with black hair said. "Our tow truck is on its way. I'll wait with your bike if you want to head back to the garage."
"You good with riding bitch?" The blonde asked.
"If you don't call it that again," I said as I picked up my helmet.
"Ya can ride with me lass," the scot said. I nodded and got on his bike with him.
Within a few minutes we were arriving at a garage. Epps introduced me to everyone as we waited in the garage. I caught up with him some, learning that he was prospecting into a motorcycle club. He'd been great for it. I told him about the surgery and everything else I've been up to recently.
"Here ya go lass," Chibs said, handing me a bottle of water.
"Thank you," I said as the tow truck pulled in and the guys dropped my bike off.
"How bad is it?" I asked, staring out at my bike.
"You took most the fall," Chibs said.
"I'm okay," I said.
"You got somewhere to stay?" He asked.
"Just gonna get a room at a hotel. In town a few days if Epps wants to see me."
"Always sis," he said. The guys took to calling me sis because my last name is "complicated" and I was the only female.
"We've got a party tonight. You should come," Jax said.
"Yeah," I said. "I'd like to get cleaned up first though. A shower would be nice."
"I can run ya to the motel," Chibs offered. I agreed and we headed out.
"Thanks for doing this," I said as we entered the room.
"Of course lass," he said. I headed right to the bathroom and checked the damage on my side. I nodded a little before showering and changing into some shorts and a tank top.
"How ya feeling?" Chibs asked as I moved out into the room.
"Good," I said. "Like I laid my bike down but good."
He nodded as he watched me.
"What?" I asked. He'd been checking me out since the morning. The checking on my bruises was a front.
"Nothin'," he said, obviously lying.
"The answers always no if you don't ask," I said. He chuckled and stood up from the bed. He moved closer to me and stared down at me. His hand was on my cheek and our lips were meeting in seconds.
"We've got a party, but how 'bout we finish this tonight?"
"Fuck the party," he said.
"Epps will kill me."
He chuckled and made a joke about him being a prospect before he led me out to the bike. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around him and he took off for the garage.
