I'll Be Back - Opie
*Takes place while they're in High School*
Description: You and Opie finally admit to having feelings for one another but Mary is taking him away from Charming and the club.
"Teller, where's your brother?" One of the teachers asked as I walked down the hallway with some friends.
"I doubt he came in today," I responded over my shoulder. Honestly, my brother Jax is kind of a loose cannon and he's on the brink of dropping out entirely to prospect in to SAMCRO. I mean it makes sense. Our father had been the president until he died five years ago. Our mother married the new president a couple years ago and never really lost touch with the MC. We all work at the garage run by the MC, so it's just a matter of time.
"(Y/N)," Opie said, gaining my attention. Opie was Jax's best friend, and my schoolyard crush. We flirted harmlessly most of the time and frequently hung out together when Jax bailed on us both for Tara, his on again off again girlfriend.
"What's up Ope?" I asked.
"Come on we're ditching. You, me, and Jax gotta talk about something," he said. I nodded and we walked back to my locker together. I threw my books in and grabbed my bag, trying to figure out what might be going on.
Our ditching school together wasn't a new phenomenon, but it wasn't an everyday thing either.
We walked in silence right out the front doors and to his truck. He constantly talked about getting a motorcycle as soon as he could scrounge up the money for one. He and Jax both worked part time at the garage, but that wasn't the kind of money needed for the bike Opie wanted.
"What's the deal Ope?" I asked. He just shook his head as he drove down to TM. I got out of the truck and we instantly headed inside. Piney was waiting all with Jax, Clay, and Gemma.
Piney was Opies old man and was pretty close to my dad before he died. Piney is more of a father figure than Clay will ever be. Just by the look on his face I could tell it wasn't going to be good.
"Look, I wanted you to hear this from me," Opie said. "Moms leaving and she won't let me stay here. She thinks I'll, and these were her exact words, get sucked into the hell hole of the damn club and die before I marry."
I instantly felt like someone punched a hole in my chest but I kept my chin up and refused to cry. There was no crying in front of Gemma unless someone was dead. Everyone start saying their apologies and how much they would miss Opie.
"Can I have a minute alone with you?" I asked softly as Opie was looking at me almost protectively.
"Wanna head up to the roof or go for a drive?" He asked.
"The roofs fine," I said. He nodded and we headed out to the side of the building, climbing up to the roof with ease.
"When are you leaving?" I asked softly.
"Day after next," he said. I nodded and my eyes watered a bit.
"Just don't forget about me," I said. He nodded and pulled me into a hug.
"I'll be back," he said. "The day I turn 18. Plus I can still visit."
I nodded a little and hugged him tighter.
"I've gotta tell you something before you leave," I said, wiping my eyes.
"I know and I like you too," he said.
"Was I that obvious?" I asked. He nodded and chuckled a little at me, earning a smile in return.
Opie closed the short distance between us and kissed my lips quickly.
"Damn it's about fucking time," Jax said. He scared us both and we jumped apart.
"Oh fuck off bro," I said.
"No, you two are good together," he said.
"Thanks man," Opie said. We all took seats where we could see one another and talk.
"Ope, we don't have to commit to anything right now with you leaving," I said.
"I'll be back babe," he said. I smiled and leaned into him as he wrapped his arm around me.
A few years later, I saw Opie again for the first time in years. He walked into the clubhouse, looking for Clay to find out about prospecting in. Jax hadn't started yet either as he wanted to do it with Opie.
"Hey, I'm looking for," he started but I cut him off.
"Clay?" I asked.
"(Y/N)?" He asked. I nodded and smiled at him.
"God I've missed you," he said.
"I've missed you too Ope," I said.
"You grew up," he said, his eyes running down my body carelessly.
"So did you," I said, noticing that he now stood well over six feet tall.
"Yeah, we should catch up sometime but I am looking for Clay and for your brother. My old man said they'd be here," he said.
"Waiting for you in church," I said nodding towards the doors.
A couple hours later, I was finally able to steal Opie away from the MC for a bit as they had been explaining being a prospect to the both of the boys.
"Opie," I said, not really knowing how to tell him I was still in love with him.
"Wait, you need to know I really really like you still," he said. "You can now break my heart."
I rolled my eyes and leaned in to kiss him. He pulled me closer and deepened it.
Cheers went up around us from the MC as I blushed like mad and Opie chuckled.
"It really was about damn time," Jax said, running over to pull us into a group hug.
