Hostage - Happy

Description: Happy's old lady is five months pregnant when the Chinese take him hostage to ensure they get the Irish.

"Where the hell is Hap?" I asked, looking at the group of men in front of me that should've contained my old man.

"He's alive," Jax said.

"The hell does that mean?"

"The Chinese took him hostage," Tig said.

"More like he volunteered to be the hostage. Said he'd be fine," Jax said.

"If anything happens to him I will rip each and everyone one of your dicks off," I snapped. "Understood?"

"No need to get violent," Jax said.

"Seriously?" I asked.

"Drop it. Come on lass, all this stress isn't good for the baby," Chibs said. He was right. I'm about five months along, and I'm not thrilled to have to do this alone for however long until they bring my old man back.

"Just get him home," I said. They all nodded and agreed that's what they want as well. I headed into the Sweets shop and sat at the counter.

"What can I get ya?" Chucky asked.

"Just some water," I said. He nodded and grabbed me a drink.

The next few days were hell without Happy. Luckily today they'd hopefully be bringing him home. I was waiting for them at the shop where their clubhouse is since the last one was blown up for over an hour before they pulled up out front. They still didn't have Happy.

"Where is he?" I asked the second they walked through the door.

"We couldn't get him back. They wanted the Irish alive," Jax said.

"So they're gonna kill Happy," I said, stumbling back a little until my legs hit the booth and I sat down.

"He won't go down without a fight," Jax said.

"Yeah and how'd that work out for my pops and my brother?" I asked. "If I lose my husband to the club too I won't know what to do with myself Jax."

"I know," he said. "We're trying."

"Try harder," I said before I headed out the door. I heard Jax tell Tig to trail me and make sure I was okay. I was headed to the cemetery, hoping maybe talking to dad would calm me down.

I parked my car and walked over to my fathers headstone. I sat down on the ground. I could feel Tig watching me from his bike fifty yard or so away. I shook my head a little as tears formed.

"I don't know what to do Pops," I said. "You and Ope and now the chance of loosing Hap too. I can't take it all."

I took a few deep breaths and leaned against the headstone as I cried a bit.

"Give me sign Pops. Something," I said.

I sat for a few minutes in silence before a butterfly flew towards me and landed on a headstone a few rows ahead.

"I'm going to take that as you're here with me," I said. "I miss you Pops, and Ope. I'm lost without you."

I smiled despite the tears in my eyes as I remembered the last time I used those words. Ope was still in prison and I'd told Dad I was lost without him.

"You've internalized every single word he's ever said to you. He can't ever leave you," Piney said as he pulled me into a hug. "You internalize everything. No one can get away from you even if you want them to."

"What would you do Pops?" I asked. "What would Donna do if it'd been Opie?"

"Take care of her kids," Lyla said as she walked towards me. "They gave me a call. Said you were going through it."

I nodded and wiped my eyes as I stood up.

"Just lost without my old man," I said.

"I know the feeling," she said. "Why don't you stay with us? We're gonna have a movie night."

"Thanks Lyla," I said.

"We're still sisters if you'll have me," she said.

"I told you no matter what happened with Ope we were sisters," I said. She nodded and we went to leave for her home.

A few days later, I was sitting on the couch after a long day at work when the door opened.

"Lyla?" I hollered. I'd given her a key and she promised to check in on me every now and then.

"Not quite little girl," Happy's voice rang as he entered the room.

"Happy," I said. He nodded as I rushed across the room and into his arms.

"You fucking asshole," I said as I cried into his chest.

"Welcome home wouldn't suffice?" He asked.

"You fucking volunteered?" I asked.

"It's my job to protect Jax and the club," he said.

"I've been out of my mind with worry," I said.

"I'm sorry," he said, still holding me. I leaned into him but released my hold to wipe my eyes.

"Don't leave me like that again," I said. "In a few months we're going to have a baby together. I can't do it alone, please baby."

"I'm sorry," he said again. "How's the baby?"

"She's okay," I said. "Just worried about her daddy."

"She?" He asked. We had agreed not to find out the gender, but I am convinced that we're having a daughter.

"I still think so," I said. "I can't take raising a Son. I'll be gray before I'm forty."

He chuckled a little. "And I'll be killing boys right and left if we have a girl."

"What if she's lesbian?" I asked.

"Acceptable," he said. I rolled my eyes a little before leaning up to kiss him.
