Hoodie - Jax

Based on the song Hoodie by Hey Violet

I was sitting in the study lounge of my college dorm with my friends, trying to relax before finals week. We were in our third semester here, but we were all more than ready to be done with college.

"Who's hoodie?" My best friend, Abby, asked.

"Hmm," I asked, looking down. I'd forgotten which one I had on.

"Must be important considering it doesn't zip."

I narrowed my eyes at her a bit. "My exs. I kept it after the breakup. He isn't thrilled that I left our home town."

"You're from Charming. It's like two hours," Abby said.

I shrugged a little. "Not a big deal to me."

Our friends started asking about him and I told them stories. We were a typical bad boy and good girl relationship which is probably part of the reason he broke things off. My mother was an Oswald before she married my dad, so we never went without anything that's for sure.

"So, what does Mr. smokin hot do now?" AJ asked.

I scoffed a little. "He's an auto mechanic. And in a motorcycle club."

My friends all seemed to nod like they knew the life. I rolled my eyes a little and decided I was going back to work. They were not impressed and kept hounding me with questions.

Luckily my phone rang and I stepped out into the hall to answer it.

"Hello," I said. I knew the number was a Charming number but I didn't recognize it.

"(Y/N)," his voice came through the phone.

"Jackson?" I asked.

"Yeah, I know I shouldn't have called but Ope was arrested."

"What?" I asked. I started fidgeting with the sleeves and smirked a little at the burn marks from all the times Jax had worn it while smoking.

"Club shit," he said. "I just, I need to talk to someone."

"Of course Jax."

Was this going to hurt? Probably. Did I want to hear his voice anyways? Yes.

"Can I come see you?" He asked.

"Of course. Call me again when you get here," I said.

"Thanks darlin," he said.

"I'll see ya soon Jax," I said and the line went dead.

I returned to my friends and they all looked concerned. I just sat down at my computer and started working again. I chewed on the strings of the hoodie, a nervous habit that my friends must've picked up on because they all instantly started questioning me.

"It was my ex. Okay?"

"What'd he want?" Abby asked.

"He just needs to talk to someone," I said.

"So he called you?" AJ asked. I nodded. I pushed my glasses higher on my face, and by moving the sleeve closer to my nose I realized just how much this hoodie still smelled like Jax.

"And you're not on the phone because?" Bella pried. My friends were nosey as hell.

"He's on his way here," I said. I dropped my head a bit and they all started giving me hell.

"You still like him," Abby said. I nodded despite it not being a question.

"Go get dolled up what are you waiting for?" Bella said.

"No," I said. "I'm going to stay dressed and looking like this because I need to pass this Business Law final. Besides, he's not coming so we can get back together."

They kept bugging me about him for the next two hours as I tried to study for my final.

Eventually, I saw Jax pull up through the windows of the study room since it was on the first floor. I threw my slides back onto my feet and rushed out to greet him.

"Hi," I said, stopping beside his bike. He was standing next to it taking his kutte off. He'd made full patch.

"Wow," he said, stunned mostly I think.

"What happened?" I asked. He turned and leaned against his bike.

"Remember Kyle?" He asked. I nodded slightly and he continued. "Left Opie at the scene of some club shit last night. Ope was arrested. Looking at five years for arson."

"Shit," I said. He just nodded. "I'm sorry Jax."

"Not your fault. I just needed to talk to someone who knows the shit. And I needed to ride. Piney kicked me off the lot and said if I came back before Monday he'd kick my ass."

"Did you try going after Kyle?"

He just nodded and I shook my head a bit.

"Look, let me go grab my stuff and we can go hang out in my room and talk catch up."

"You don't need to let me in again," he said.

"Jackson, you're it for me," I said. "There's no again. I've given you your space because you wanted it, not because I wanted to."

"What?"

"For fucks sake Jax. I wear this hoodie every fucking night because the best sleep I ever got was in our shitty ass twin sized beds in high school. We'd be studying or watching a movie and fall asleep and my parents would curse us out. So we'd hang out at yours because Gemma was just happy you might stay outta trouble for a while."

"I broke up with you because you're uncle threatened me. Said I couldn't be dating an Oswald," he said softly. "I never wanted to end things but with your parents and uncle on both our asses constantly it made having a relationship really difficult."

I rolled my eyes at him.

"I still love you."

My eyes snapped up to meet his. I wasn't sure I'd heard him correctly.

"I love you too Jax," I said. He pushed himself off his bike and within two strides was in front of me planting a kiss to my lips. I heard muted cheering and sure enough my friends had been watching us the whole time.

"You've got a bit of a fan section after the stories they pulled from me today," I said.

"Lets go meet them then," he said, and motioned for me to lead the way into the building.
