Hang With the Charter - Chibs

This one is sort of inspired/loosely based on the song Singles You Up by Jordan Davis.

Description: Jax's younger sister, the twin of Thomas, brings her college boyfriend home to Charming where they attend a SAMCRO party. While there she realizes she has feelings for her Scottish best friend and her college boyfriend can't hang with the charter.

"You ready?" I asked as I pulled into the TM lot. My boyfriend of three years was about to witness his first ever SAMCRO party. I knew he wasn't prepared but I'd promised him the best party if he spent spring break with me in Charming.

"As I'll ever be," he said. I got out of the car and instantly felt at home. We walked towards the clubhouse door and I pushed it open. The cigarette smoke in the air had my boyfriend coughing in seconds.

"The princess returns," my drunk brother screamed the second he laid eyes on me.

All the guys who'd heard him turned to me and ran to tackle me in a hug. All except one: Chibs.

I spent an hour saying hello and introducing Josh to everyone.

"You need anything?" I asked as he sat down at the bar. He shook his head and held up a beer.

"I'll be back," I said as the prospect handed me a beer.

"Hello," I said sitting down next to Chibs. He was nursing the same beer he'd had when I walked in.

"How ya been lass?" He asked.

"Good, great, well maybe not great," I said.

"Ya look good," he said. Chibs and I have been close since he transferred to SAMCRO a couple of years ago.

"Thanks," I said. "Why don't you come meet Josh?"

"I will in a bit," he said. I nodded and returned to Josh. He was on his second beer and clearly on edge.

"Let loose. No one here bites," I said.

"Except for Tig," my mother said. She'd approached us to talk to me about something.

"Well yeah but only when he goes down on ya so it won't be an issue," I said. Josh looked uncomfortable at my complete lack of a filter. I didn't understand why. He'd seen me black out drunk and we'd had sex at parties before.

After another hour or so Chibs walked over and introduced himself as my best friend. He wasn't wrong. He started talking to Josh, obviously grilling him but disguising it as a conversation.

"This is my song," I said as Radio Ga Ga came on. Jax ran over to me and we started screaming the song together. Luckily the speakers were pretty loud. He and I had a rule: whenever we are at the same party if that song comes on we stop whatever we're doing and we sing it together for Dad and Thomas.

When the song ended I headed back to Chibs and Josh. Josh had disappeared and Chibs looked a little upset.

"He left," Chibs said. "Said you can stay as late as you'd like but he was going back to the hotel."

"What's up with you?" I asked noticing his anger. He nodded towards the door and I got up and followed him outside. We sat down on the picnic table and he lit a cigarette, giving it to me first.

"You know he doesn't know that song," Chibs said.

"How could he not? I play it all the time," I said.

"I asked that too. He even had the balls to ask who the hell Thomas was when I mentioned the video," Chibs said. I had an old video of Dad, Thomas, Jax, and I dancing to Radio Ga Ga and I'd gotten Juice to transfer it to a laptop and send it to my cell phone so I always had it.

"I'm not sure he's ever seen it. He wasn't big on talking about my life here," I said.

"You deserve someone who cares about you. All of you," he said. I nodded a little and he tried to pass the cigarette to me once again.

"I'm only with him because neither one of us have bit the bullet yet," I said. "Things have been rough the last few months between us and I was hoping this would salvage it but I'm thinking this might be the end."

"If he singles you up give me a call," he said. I rolled my eyes at him but nodded in agreement.

"Tell Mom I'll be at dinner tomorrow. I'm gonna head out," I said.

"Aren't you too drunk to drive?" He asked.

"I've nursed the same beer all night."

The next day I arrived at family dinner alone.

"Where's the boyfriend?" Clay asked as I walked into the living room where everyone was hanging out before dinner.

"Ex," I said. They all seemed shocked. Except for Chibs.

"What happened?" Jax asked.

"He couldn't hang with the charter," I said with a bit of a shrug.

"Can't have that," Chibs said.

"No, we can't," I said. "So he's an ex now. On his way to Miami for Spring Break. I took him to the airport this morning."

"Wanna talk about it?" My mom asked.

"No. It's been a couple months brewing. Besides, you can't know me for three years, not learn the lyrics to Radio Ga Ga, and claim you care about me."

"That's for sure," Jax said. He loved the song as much as I do but he doesn't play it nearly as often.

A few minutes later dinner was done and my mom was rushing us all to the table. I took a seat between Chibs and Jax. Chibs and I spent the meal joking around and just being our usual annoying selves.

"Can I steal ya a minute lass?" He asked once we were done eating. I'd been helping mom clean up, so I nodded and followed him out the back door.

"I'm all singled up," I joked.

"I really like ya lass. I meant it," he said.

"I like you too Chibs," I said. "Always have."

"Can I take ya on a date?"

"I'd love that," I said. He moved closer to me and kissed my lips gently.

I heard cheering from inside and rolled my eyes a little before Chibs deepened the kiss and moved himself between me and the window.

"I ain't old enough to be a grandma just yet," my mother yelled earning chuckles from everyone.
