Extended Times - Chibs
Description: After a long day at work, you spend the night with Chibs as he works on his bike.
"Hey," my mom said walking up to me.
"What's up?" I asked.
"So the cashier for tonight just called in. Can you stay late?" She asked. I nodded. I was used to this. My parents run a grocery store and I've worked here for ten years now. Having to stay late was normal. I didn't like it but I dealt with it.
"Did you call the new hire and see if maybe she wants to pick up some hours and I can get some paperwork done?" I asked.
"I will. I'll have her come in at like 5 if she can," she said. I nodded a bit.
"Oh and you can come in late tomorrow or leave early or both since you're staying an extra six hours today," she said. I just nodded again and she headed off, leaving me with my list of stock to pull to get put out.
The day part quickly and before too long it was nearing six o'clock. I was sitting in the office working on some paperwork and orders when I heard my boyfriends voice carrying from the register over.
"Can ya get me two packs of Marlboro red box lass?" He asked. I grabbed the packages and handed them to her as she walked over to the office.
I kept an eye on her as she scanned them and asked for his ID. I knew he didn't have it with him cause he'd given it me the last time we went out together and hadn't asked for it back.
He grabbed his wallet and flipped it open, shocked that drunk him had lost his ID yet again.
"Do I really look that young lass?" He asked.
"I've gotta see your ID or I can't sell em to you," she said. Good for her. I chuckled as I stood up and grabbed his ID from my wallet.
"Way to card him but I promise he's old enough," I said as I walked over. I handed him his ID and he kissed my cheek in return.
"Thanks love," he said.
"Hey Hap," I said.
"I need smokes too," he said.
"So needy. Ya know, it'd be good for the two of you to quit," I said as I walked off and grabbed Happy a pack of cigarettes.
"Yeah yeah, just keep bugging us about it," Chibs said.
"Hey, weren't you supposed to be off by now?" He asked.
"Cashier called in sick and she's the only one we could get in on such short notice. So someone had to stay who knows what the heck is going on," I explained. He nodded a bit.
"Well, I'm gonna head to the garage and start on the exhaust system on my bike," Chibs said.
"You're my ride home tonight," I said.
"I'll go grab your car cause my bike ain't gonna be done," he said. I nodded and kissed him quickly before he and Happy headed out.
"He's your boyfriend?" The new hire, Amy, said.
"Yes," I said.
"The guy with him was kinda cute," Madi, the other girl working tonight said. They were both still in high school.
"He's also old enough to be your father," I said.
"I don't mind," she said with a shrug before walking away.
I rolled my eyes and returned to my paperwork.
With about ten minutes until we closed, Chibs walked back in, no longer wearing his kutte. I was confused until I realized he was still wearing his TM shirt. He drove my car so he hadn't worn his leather.
"Babe, you need anything?" I asked.
"I'm gonna grab some snacks. Still got a few more hours worth of work," he said. I nodded and he headed off to gather what he wanted. He returned and I cashed the items out for him.
"I'll be out in a few," I said. He nodded and took the bag out to my car.
I sent the girls home and locked the store up before heading out and climbing in the passenger side of my car.
"How was work?" Chibs asked as he pulled the car out of the lot.
"Long," I said. "I've only gotta work a few hours tomorrow to make up for it though."
He nodded a little as he turned a corner. "That's good. You can keep me company for the night and most tomorrow too. Jackie boy gave us the day off."
"That's good. Maybe we could actually eat dinner together like a normal couple," I said. He chuckled at me.
"Maybe love," he said. I smiled at him softly. He pulled up to the garage. Happy was sitting outside, smoking and watching the gates of TM and the clubhouse.
"Thanks brother," Chibs said as we walked up to Happy.
"Yeah man," he said as they bro hugged. Happy headed off for the clubhouse and Chibs led me into the garage.
As he worked we talked. Sometimes he told me about what he was doing, but for the most part, I talked and he listened except when he asked me for a tool.
"I just don't understand how people can let their kids act like that ya know," I said. I had just finished telling him about some troublemaking kids I'd had to deal with earlier in the evening.
"Ours won't," he said. I froze, my hand still in the chip bag.
"Ours?" I asked excitedly.
"I sure hope so lass," he said. I smiled even brighter if that was possible. Sure, I'd thought about having a family with Chibs and I was sure it had been mentioned briefly at some point in our two years of being together, but this time felt real. He was actually talking about us being parents together.
"I want nothing more than to get to raise a family alongside you," I said.
"We can get started on that," he said with a devilish smirk.
"Your bike still isn't finished," I said. He nodded and grabbed his bottle of soda. He took a drink before staring at me for a long moment.
"Have you thought about it?" He asked.
"What? A family with you?" I asked. He nodded as he went back to work.
"Only everyday since I met you," I said. "A couple kids, maybe a dog."
"How many?" He asked.
"I think two or three kids and about twenty dogs should suffice," I said.
"Try again lass," he said.
"Fine only one kid," I said.
"Ha. Ha," he said sarcastically.
"I want at least a boy and a girl. Maybe a couple of boys," I said. "And only one dog."
"Have you thought about names?" He asked. I nodded as I took a drink of my water.
"What about you?" I asked.
"Sophie," he said.
"I like that name," I said. "Like a lot."
"Sophie Grace Telford," I said. "It's got a nice ring to it."
"Any for the boys?" He asked.
"Well I used to love the name Alexander but Tig ruined that. Maybe like Conor or something," I said.
"Padraic," he said. I paused and stared at him.
"As in after your nephew?" I asked. He nodded.
"Just feels right, ya know," he said.
"I love the idea," I said. "Sophie and Padraic."
He smiled at me and leaned down to press our lips together. As he finished up his bike over the course of the next hour, we continued to discuss our future family and a wedding. I live for these extended times I get to spend with my love. Chibs makes me happier than anyone in the world.
