Blind Date - Juice
Description: You work with Tara who set you up on a blind date with Juice.
I sat in the diner waiting patiently and thinking about how I wound up here. Tara Knowles, one of my best friends, had been bothering me about meeting someone. She'd always give me a hard time while we were at work about how I'm going to be an old maid. I'm 24. I'd hardly consider myself an old maid. To get Tara off my back about finding someone, I agreed to let her set me up on a blind date.
About fifteen minutes after I was told to be here, a guy walked in and sat down across from me. He was wearing the leather kutte of SAMCRO and he seemed on edge.
"(Y/N)?" He asked.
"Yeah, and you must be Juice," I said. He nodded. Tara had only given me a name and a time and place. Nothing else.
"I'm sorry I'm late. I was trying to get out of work but they kept me longer," he said.
"Don't sweat it," I said. He nodded a little and we started talking as we waited for the waitress to take our orders.
Juice was great. I totally understood why Tara had set me up with him. He was sweet and caring and somehow seemed out of place in his kutte while also having it make perfect sense.
"So," he said as we finished up dinner.
"So," I responded earning a small smile from Juice.
"I didn't completely blow it, did I?" He asked.
"Far from it," I said. He nodded, seeming pleased with my response.
"Want me to give you a ride home?" He asked. Charming was pretty small so I never bothered to get a car and I walked most places I needed to go.
"On your motorcycle?" I asked. He nodded.
"I'll be safe," he said. I thought about it for a second before agreeing.
"Do you know where you're going?" I asked as we walked out. I'd given him my address and he seemed to know where it was.
"Yeah I do," he said. "It's just around the corner from the garage I work at."
"You work for Teller Morrow?" I asked. He nodded a bit as we came to a stop by his bike.
"My dad worked there for a while when I was young before he passed away," I said softly.
"I'm sorry to hear that," he said.
"It was a long time ago," I said. He nodded and got onto his bike before nodding for me to get on. He handed me a helmet once I was seated.
He drove to my house quickly. He pulled into the driveway and I got off his bike.
"Do you wanna come in for a bit? Ya know as long as you're not a murderer or anything," I joked.
He agreed and promised he wasn't a murderer so we headed inside.
"Do you want some coffee or tea or something?" I asked.
"Coffees good," he said. I nodded and made him some before starting on some tea for myself.
"There's creamer in the fridge and sugar right here," I said as I handed him the cup. He nodded as he took it and started drinking it.
When I had finished making my tea, we headed to the living room and sat down on the couch.
We started talking about life and our childhoods and whatever else came up.
"If you're from New York, how did you wind up in Charming?" I asked.
"I needed a change of pace. Had to get away from the big city and ya know the MC didn't hurt any," he said. I nodded a bit and he seemed to notice my sudden tension about the MC.
"What's your issue with the MC?" He asked.
"I trust them. Pretty much all of Charming owes them something or another. But my father was Prospecting in when he was killed. Afterwards my mother made me promise to never have anything to do with them ever again. I was 6. I kept that promise for a while but I still went to the same parties as Opie and Jax in high school and I still took my cars to TM. She got pretty upset with me about all of that," I said.
"I'm sorry," he said after a second.
"It's not your fault Juice," I said. "Besides, she died a few years back too. We'd made up by that point so there's nothing to worry about."
"I'm so sorry to hear that," he said.
"Thanks," I said with a small smile. He was genuinely the sweetest person. He glanced at the clock on the wall. He appeared to be debating about whether or not he should leave.
"You can go," I said.
"What if I don't want to?"
"Then you can stay a while longer," I said. "We could watch a movie or something."
"You watch the Office?" He asked. I nodded a little and he smiled.
"The guys always give me a hard time for it so it's nice to have someone else who watches it. We could watch a few episodes if you want," he said.
"Yeah, sure," I agreed. I grabbed our now empty mugs and took them to the kitchen sink so I could clean them later. I returned and set up the TV, finding the Office before long. I sat down next to Juice and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
"This okay?" He asked softly.
"Perfect," I said, cuddling into his side a bit more.
