Sonnet XXXVIII, Black Widow
Sonnet XXXVIII, Black Widow

Her love is grand, he cannot probe its agony,
His mind can't hem its endless cofactor,
Or weave its course through high waters, however,
He'll try with might, as she weaves her tapestry,
And he, for loss of word, finds tangibly
Its brace. He's hers till she releases answers.
He freely came to her; her love authors
The snare, too late, the force that gave her thee
Drains, and his blood bleeds dry upon the sand,
His dry hulk withers, and his eyes contrite.
Her gods move and devour life, the command
Of the conquest will assure her delight.
A.N. This is written in the format of the Italian sonnet with the rhyme scheme consisting an octet of ABBA ABBA, and is followed by a sestet of CD,CD,CD. The black widow spider is known for killing the male after mating. The male is very tiny in comparison to the female, and his desire is greater than his will to live. The black widow can be deadly to humans, because her toxin attacks the nervous system. If you don't like the mud dauber wasp remember it is the number one black widow predator, feasting on them.
