Sonicbronyuniversez Review four: Spyro the Dragon
Clips from Spyro the Dragon Reignited are shown, one for each of the five worlds in the original game. The title card for Spyro reignited along with a one right next to it was shown as some more clips of the game were shown. You can imagine which ones if you like.
Sonicbronyuniversez: Greetings everyone, it is I, Sonicbronyuniversez. I recently completed the enitre Spyro Reignited trilogy. And might I say, it's a fantastic time to be had. From the first moment you start up the game, you're impacted with amazing graphics, wonderful controls, and...debatably good bosses; it depends on the game we're talking about. And I've taken it upon myself to review all three games from Spyro Reignited. Whether or not my opinions are the same as yours, just remember. You are a beautiful person no matter what your opinions may be. Now keep in mind that I never played the games on Ps1. Not because I didn't want to, I just wasn't around when the Ps1 was a huge ass deal that made everyone piss their pants like crazy. But that won't affect my opinion at all. We shall now begin the trilogy of my first game reviews, with...Spyro the Dragon.
Sonicbronyuniversez slashed the screen in half and then kicked it aside, revealing the words story to be above him.
The beginning clips were shown as Sonic spoke of the story to Spyro the Dragon.
Sonicbronyuniversez: Now the story of Spyro the Dragon is fairly simple. A couple dragons get pretty cocky and insult Gnasty Gnorc, and since he thinks he's Justin Bieber, he decides to blast the crap out of them with stone things and since Spyro's small as a dog he gets to live and goes off to save the dragons without even considering the danger. Yeah, Spyro fuckin rocks. So I really don't have a lot to say about it, but the story's fine for what it's worth. At least it gives the game a reason to exist. And there's also this small detail about Spyro apparently having some kind of destiny and it's mentioned by a select few dragons. As the pieces slowly come together, it's revealed to be rising up to defeating Gnasty Gnorc himself. Though, we already knew that from the first moment it was mentioned, so it's not big deal. So the story is good, just not Godly.
Sonicbronyuniversez was keeping a bunch of video game characters in check with the characters shown above him.
Spyro was shown in the beginning and ending clips as Sonicbronyuniversez talks about him.
Sonicbronyuniversez: So yeah, Spyro was really the only character in this game I gave a crap about. There are some dragons I like and some I love, but none that really stuck with me like Spyro did. Sparx is fucking adorable but that's all he has to him. Though, from what I heard he's super annoying in Legend of Spyro, so maybe it's a good thing he can't even say B, as in short for bitch, I ain't given you any cash. But still, Spyro's more than entertaining enough on his own. He can be a little bratty in some instanses, but hey; if he were completely soft and blah he'd be boring, and the game would be less fun to play. After all, that's partially what ruined Devil May Cry 2. Spyro's personality is more than capable of making me excited to play this already fun game, and he makes it all better with his great one liners, and occasional adorable child-like moments. So Spyro, being the spunky and laid back dragon you are, you pass for me any day of the week.
Sonicbronyuniversez was playing the game itself as the words, the gameplay, was shown above him.
Spyro was shown playing in certain levels (Which ones are up to you.) as Sonicbronyuniversez spoke of the gameplay.
Sonicbronyuniversez: Simplicity is an amazing thing. Whether it's the speed of Sonic or the power ups of Mario, there's so much to enjoy in the simple things. Spyro shows perfectly how simple dragons can get, but in the best way possible. The way this game portrays the dragon worlds is wonderful, and the way Spyro moves in them is just incredible. Seeing this young dragon ram into enemies and scorch other ones is so satisfying. Yes, the bosses are lacking, but it more than makes up for it by making the levels they're in something of a gem. Well, except for Gnasty; his entire fight's just trash. But even so, charging around worlds and gliding to platforms, and sometimes just sitting there to let the perfect graphics soak in. Spyro, is truely phenomiinal int he gameplay department. And it's certainly the best part of the game.
Sonicbronyuniversez was shown standing over a cliff as he allowed the air to breeze through his fur.
Sonicbronyuniversez closed his eyes with a smile as he began to speak of the graphics.
The levels in Spyro the Dragon original on Reignited were shown as Sonicbronyuniversez spoke of them
Sonicbronyuniversez: I believe it's fact that anyone with proper sight would adore the graphics in this amazing looking game. You'd have to force yourself to the neck down to dislike the graphics in this game. From the glistening of the snow to the movements of the grass, to the amazing attention to detail when Spyro sneezes fire on the grass, Spyro Reignited made this game into a phenominal work of art. I can't think of a single world I dislike, with my favorite of them being the Artisans Home. Peaceful, vibrant, full of life, showing perfectly what's to come for the future of this game. My brain says the gameplay is the best, but my heart says the graphics win this duel.
Sonicbronyuniversez was shown to be doing some sword slashes with Vergil in the middle of the final world in Devil May Cry 3
Sonicbronyuniversez collided a final slash with Vergil as he prepared to speak about the bosses.
Sonicbronyuniversez: Sadly, the bosses are the weak link of this otherwise fantastic game. Although I like Metalhead, and the the final level against Gnasty is okay, the bosses are simply too inexperienced for me to call them outright good. They're quite bad I may tell, however they're much better than the bosses in the godawful experience that is Devil May Cry 2. That alone, is a plus in it's own right.
Sonicbronyuniversez was seen looking up at the sky as he looks back on his battle with Vergil.
Sonicbronyuniversez spoke three silent words as he prepared for the vinal verdict.
The ending cutscene to Spyro the Dragon on Reignited was shown as Sonicbronyuniversez finished the review.
Sonicbronyuniversez: I can't deny the facts. Reignited was able to make me fall in love with this franchise, and this game was a more than perfect start to it. Whether or not you're a fan of platformers, I say this game is more than worth trying out just to experience the birth of the greatest creation from Playstation. At least from what I know; keep in mind that I never played Metal Gear Solid. Anyway, in spite of this game's near awful selection of bosses, I give this an 8.5/10. A fantastic game in my journal, and was a great way to start out the franchise. I'll see you next time, when we discuss Ripto's rage.
Gogeta using his Kamehameha on Broly in the Dragon Ball Super Broly movie was shown as the video capped off with this word appearing just before it fired to end the video off.
Jackpot!
Next time, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage.
