Narrator: Last time on Sonic X x Male Reader, when plants began taking over planet, it seemed the Metarex were on the verge of victory. But the table soon turned when the power of the Chaos Y/n restored the power of the Emeralds. With his scheme for cosmic conquest at an end, Dark Oak made a last ditch move to destroy the galaxy, squeezing the Planet Egg in a gravity field in order to cause an enormous explosion. Sonic, Y/n and Shadow launched an attack on the fearsome field, but are powerless to punch through. With time running out, Cosmo got a message from her mother saying she was the only hope to stop the Metarex. Sonic, Y/n and Shadow watched in wonder as Cosmo passed through the gravity field to defy Dark Oak. But her plan had a price. To deliver the galaxy from destruction, Tails had to fire the Power Cannon at the field and at Cosmo along with Y/n's own full powered attack that came at the cost of burning through his Chaos Energy. After Sonic and Shadow went through the Planet and Y/n split it in half, it exploded. The sight made Cream cuddle closer to Star and cry.

Cream: Oh, no! Cosmo!

Tails: (crying) Cosmo!

Star closed her eyes.

In a mindspace.

Lucas was standing alone somewhere.

Lucas: Earthia was right, my thirst for power destroyed my people and brought nothing but pain and suffering to the galaxy.

Star appeared in front of him.

Lucas: Star?

Star: You know, you've endangered my friends on multiple occasions, nearly killed me and my husband and you're even the reason Cosmo just died!

Lucas: Did you come to boast how happy you are that I'm gonna die now.

Star: I came here to tell you, I don't hate you.

Lucas: (surprised) Wh-what?

Star: Everything you did, while twisted, you did it for your clan. You may have been my enemy as Dark Oak, but you were also Lucas, my father. The man I could never hate no matter what.

Hearing all of this made Lucas burst into tears.

Lucas: I was such a bad father

Star hugged Lucas tight.

Star: Maybe, but not always. I'll never forget the night that you let me sleep with you when I was scared, when you let me ride on your shoulders, and how you would call me your special flower.

Lucas hugged back and that's when Earthia showed up.

Earthia: Lucas! It is over now. The galaxy is saved.

Lucas: Earthia! I feared I'd never see you again.

Earthia: We have a second chance now, Lucas. The time has come for all creatures to live in peace including you and me.

Lucas looked at Star one more time.

Lucas: Do you forgive me?

Star: I have, Father. Now, go on. Be with mother, Galaxina, and Cosmo, then wait for me to get there with you all.

Lucas took Earthia's hand and they both disappeared. That's when Star saw Cosmo.

Star: Sis...

Cosmo: Tell everyone that I'm grateful for their friendship and tell Tails that I've always loved him.

In the real world.

While Tails was sitting and crying, he felt a pair of arms around him before they disappeared.

With the Hedgehogs.

Sonic, Shadow and Y/n looked at the scattering rose petals.

Sonic: Goodbye, Cosmo.

Y/n: I promise, your sacrifice will not be in vain.

The Hedgehogs looked at each other before charging their final attack.

Shadow: Chaos...

Y/n: Thundering...

Sonic/Y/n/Shadow: Control!

They used Chaos Thundering Control to finish of whatever was left of the planet.

Eggman: NO! NO! The Planet Egg is about to release power. We have to get out of here! Activate Emergency Egg Drive.

Decoe: It is impossible for us to go into warp space.

Bocoe: Nothing on this ship is working, including the engine.

Bokkun: We don't have power, remember?

Eggman: Oh yeah, I forgot. It slipped my master mind.

All four of them laughed.

Sonic: If the Planet Egg lets out all its energy, the others won't have enough time to get away. I have to move. CHAOS-

Shadow punched Sonic in the stomach.

Sonic: (weakly) Hold on, Shadow!

Sonic was knocked unconscious and floated back to the Typhoon as Shadow began to take his limiters off.

Shadow: Sorry, friend, but I'm taking over. After all we wouldn't want you to hurt yourself, now would we? Chaos Control!

Shadow used Chaos Control to absorb the explosion, so it seemed like nothing happened.

Vector: Hey, what just happened?

Charmy: Where's Shadow?

Dr. Eggman: (Thinking: He's gone.)

Suddenly, a light appeared where the planet was.

Bokkun: Whoah, is that a star?

Decoe: I do not think so, but what is it Dr. Eggman?

Eggman: I'm not sure, but it has appeared that Shadow has stopped time in that spot.

Bocoe: What do you think has happened to Shadow?

Eggman: Who knows. He just made a risky move, and unfortunately, it may have been his last.

Rouge: He used Chaos Control.

Knuckles: It must have taken all the energy that he had left.

Rouge: Shadow...

Chris began to weep, so Helen comforted him until a thought occurred to her.

Helen: Hey, where's Y/n?

Outside.

Y/n slowly landed on the Typhoon where he was immediately met by a hug from Star.

Star: Y/n!

Y/n hugged her back.

Y/n: I am glad to see you and everyone else are all right.

Y/n's body began to emit steam.

Y/n: Which is more than I can say for myself. Looks like time's up.

Star: Wait, what?

Y/n was about to fall over, but Star caught him.

Y/n: We had a good run.

Star: Y/n- (teary eyed) Y/n, no! Please, (full out crying) I already lost my sister! Please, don't make me lose my husband, too! You can't just leave me alone!

Y/n: But you won't be. You'll have Cream, Amy, Knuckles, Helen, Tails and everyone else, too. I'm sorry, but it has to be this way. I love you, Star. Make sure to never forget that.

Star: I love you, too.

Star kissed Y/n on the lips.

In a mindspace.

Y/n was on his knees before Perfect Chaos.

Y/n: So, this is the end, huh?

Chaos: Yes. Just know, it was truly an honor to serve you, Lord Y/n.

Y/n: The honor was all mine.

Y/n lifted up one of his fist and Chaos pumped it with one of his tendrils.

Chaos: I'm truly sorry it had to be this way.

Y/n: My only regret is that the Thunderhog Clan will now die with me.

Chaos: (sigh) That's not true.

Y/n: Huh?

Chaos: See, I may have lied. The true cost of Chaos Mode isn't the user's life, but my life.

Y/n: What?!

Chaos began to evaporate.

Chaos: This is where we part ways, my friend.

Y/n: Chaos, if I knew the cost was your life, I would've never-

Chaos: I know. That's exactly why I didn't tell you. Goodbye, Y/n. I'll never forget you.

Chaos disappeared completely causing to go Y/n to let out an agonizing scream.

Y/n: Chaos!!!

Back in real life.

Y/n woke up to Star, Cream and Helen looking over him.

Star/Helen: Y/n!

Cream: Big brother!

All three of them hugged him.

Y/n: Easy! I Just came back from a near-death experience!

They all let go.

Helen: I don't understand. I thought Chaos Mode was supposed to kill you.

Y/n: It didn't kill me, but it did kill someone.

All of Chaos began to evaporate from Y/n who grabbed some of it.

Y/n: Chaos...

He heard Chaos's voice.

Chaos: Take care, My Lord.

Y/n let a single tear fall into the bit of Chaos he had before it evaporated away completely.

Cream: Big brother...

Helen put a hand on Y/n's shoulder.

Helen: I'm so sorry for your loss.

Y/n: Someone has to be. Come on, let's get inside.

They saw Tails and Sonic on the launch pad and Tails was crying into Sonic's chest.

Cream: Poor Tails.

Star: If he thinks he feels bad, he should walk a mile in my shoes.

They ran over to the two.

Y/n: Hey, you guys okay?

Tails held out a his hand which had a seed in it.

Star: Is that...

Tails: It's what was left of Cosmo. I figured it would be better off with you, Star.

Star took the seed and began to cry.

Star: Thank you, Tails.

Suddenly, a bunch of meteor like lights began to fill the sky.

Bokkun: It's amazing!

Decoe: Those are all Planet Eggs!

Bocoe: There must be thousands, or millions of them!

Bokkun: But where are they going to?

Eggman: They are all returning home, to the planets they came from. Quick take a picture of me with them!

Decoe: Impossible!

Bocoe: The camera batteries are completely drained.

Bokkun: You even used the batteries to help Sonic?

Bocoe: We were told to send all power to the Blue Typhoon.

Decoe: Yeah, we just followed orders.

Bokkun: Pinheads!

Decoe: How dare you!

Eggman: Quit bickering and get to work restoring power to the Egg Drive!

Bokkun/Decoe/Bocoe: Right away, doctor!

Y/n: We may have lost many lives, but at least the one silver lining is that the Galaxy is saved.

A few days later.

Y/n, who was now wearing a gray cape was walking down the road along with Star and Vanilla, who was wearing Y/n's scarf.

Y/n: Mother, why are we doing this again? You know how I feel about those clowns.

Vanilla: Now, Y/n, do not be that way. They helped you and your friends and it is only right that we go over and thank them.

Star: Come on, honey. I agree that that the Chaotix are annoying, but it won't be so bad. You at least get along with Espio, don't you?

Y/n: (sigh) I do.

They finally reached the Chaotix Detective office and Vanilla rang the doorbell, but no one came. She rung it again, but again, no one answered.

Y/n: Lazy heads are probably asleep or something.

Vanilla was about to ring again, but Y/n put his hand out allow me.

Y/n kicked the door down and that woke Vector off of the couch.

Y/n: Well, look who was right.

Vector: Y/n? What's the big idea?! You come here and break my door. Why, I oughtta-

Vector looked behind Y/n and saw Vanilla.

Vector: Oh, Miss Vanilla! Thank you for coming. We're very honored to have you along with your son and daughter-in-law.

Star: (scoff) (Low tone: Kiss ass.)

Vanilla lightly punched Star in the shoulder.

A little later.

The Chaotix, Y/n, Star and Vanilla were sitting at a small table outside and they were enjoying baked goods.

Vanilla: Thank you for everything you've done for me.

Vector: It's no big deal. It's our job.

Espio: Quit your flirting, Vector. It's disgusting.

Y/n: Especially if the woman you're flirting with is my mother.

Vanilla put a hand on Y/n's shoulder to calm him down while Charmy was enjoying a cupcake.

Charmy: Your mom's cakes are the best!

Vanilla: There's plenty, so help yourself.

Espio took a few cakes for himself.

Espio: Thank you.

Charmy: We won't have to worry about our food expenses!

Vector shoved a whole cake in his mouth.

Vector: Don't talk about things like that!

Star: Yeah, your food expenses are what your income is for.

Charmy: We haven't had any clients since returning home, but we're in debt because we rebuilt our office. We're in financial trouble again this month.

Vanilla: Oh, well I'll bring something more filling next time.

Star: And if you need help with money, you could come work for me at my stand.

Charmy: A stand?

Star: Yeah. I didn't want to be a freeloader, so I used my abilities to open a small produce stand in the middle of town. And let me tell you, it's off to a great start. When a skilled Seedrian grows anything that comes from a plant like corn or tomatoes, we grow the most ripe of what that fruit or vegetable can be and I sell at relatively fair prices.

Espio: Wow, that's actually pretty impressive.

Y/n: Indeed.

Y/n wrapped an arm around Star.

Y/n: As talented as she is beautiful.

Y/n kissed Star on the cheek which made her blush.

Star: Oh, you.

Later.

Vector was walking along the path with Y/n, Star and Vanilla.

Vector: Your cake truly is the best, Miss Vanilla.

Y/n: Yeah, that's why she'll be in charge of the cake for mine and Star's wedding.

Vector: You're having a wedding? I thought you two were already husband and wife.

Star: Well, this wedding will make it official.

Y/n: It is Thunderhog tradition that we only marry once. And if I'm only doing it once, I'm gonna do it right.

Vanilla: Oh, that reminds me of another reason we came to visit.

Vanilla looked at Y/n who grumbled.

Y/n: Vector, I may have saw you as a joke ever since I met you, but you did help us during the final battle. For that, I would like to ask if you and the other members of your team would like to attend our wedding.

Vector was surprised.

Vector: Really?

Y/n: Yeah.

Vector: Well, we would love to!

Vector noticed Y/n's cape.

Vector: Say, I'm just now noticing that you're wearing a cape instead of your usual scarf.

Y/n: Oh, yeah. I got this cape when we came back.

Flashback.

Y/n, Star, and Cream and Cheese were sitting with Vanilla as they just got done telling her everything.

Y/n: And now you're caught up.

Vanilla: Oh, I'm so sorry that happened to all of you.

Cream: I miss Cosmo, Chaos and Uncle Spark.

Cheese: Chao, chao.

Y/n: I do, too. But they'd want us to move on.

Star: And besides, Cosmo isn't truly gone.

Star got out a flower pot that already had soil in it and a little sprout.

Star: This little seedling will one day grow into another Seedrian. This is Cosmo's legacy.

Vanilla: It certainly is adorable.

Y/n: Oh, I almost forgot.

Y/n took off his scarf and put it on Vanilla.

Y/n: I brought it back as promised.

Vanilla: Oh, thank you, dear. I got something for you actually.

Y/n: Really?

Vanilla: Wait right here.

Vanilla left the room and after a little bit, came back with a gray cape.

Vanilla: Ta-da! It's something I've been working on while you were away.

Y/n was surprised.

Y/n: This is... for me?

Vanilla: Yep. I figured you should have some to keep up your mojo.

Cream and Star giggled at that while Y/n rolled his eyes.

Y/n: Oh, ha ha. Anyway, I appreciate it, Mother.

The two hugged before Vanilla put the cape on Y/n.

Y/n: I love it.

End Flashback.

Vector: Aw. What a nice story.

They continued walking until they saw Eggman leaning against a tree.

Star: Oh, great. What do you want?

Eggman pointed to Y/n.

Eggman: You got a minute, Lord Y/n.

Meanwhile.

Chris and Helen were with Knuckles on Angel Island looking over the broken pieces of the Master Emerald.

Helen: It won't be like this forever, right?

Knuckles: The Master Emerald should return to its normal state once its power is restored.

Chris: Will you do your chant?

Knuckles: Please hear me, oh Master Emerald, and be restored now! Like that?

Chris: You chant is pretty funny. uh... I didn't mean that-

Knuckles: No offense taken. I think I'll let nature take its course. The Master Emerald helped save the galaxy so it needs time to heal. In the meantime I decided... (he sat on a step of the Master Emerald's podium) to kick back and take it easy. We deserve a rest, too, Chris.

Helen: This is really the first time we've really been on Mobius since we got here.

Chris: I guess so.

They both sat next to Knuckles.

Chris: Since it looks like we're gonna be staying here, I was wondering how we could go about building me and Helen a house.

Knuckles: Huh? What do you mean how? You just go ahead and build it.

Chris: You make it sound so easy, but its not so simple. There's a lot to think about, like where would I build it?

Helen: And what we'd even make it with.

Knuckles: (laughs) What do you mean where? There's tons of land all around you. Just pick a spot.

Chris: What if that spot belongs to someone else?

Knuckles: In our world, it's first come first serve.

Knuckles laughed some more until a thought came to him.

Knuckles: Hey, your not planning on building one here?

Chris: Well, I've figured around these old ruins was about as good a place as any. It's kinda pretty, you know?

Knuckles: Sure its pretty. You go right ahead and build. It's just lucky your good friend Knuckles didn't have this spot picked out for his place.

Chris: (small chuckle) Yeah, lucky.

Knuckles: That was a hint, kid.

Helen: Well, it's not like you can really stop us, so...

Chris: Hey Knuckles, I'm really happy for all you guys, being home and all.

Knuckles: Yeah... It sure is nice.

Suddenly, Y/n showed up.

Y/n: Hey, guys.

Helen: Y/n!

Helen ran over to Y/n and hugged him, to which he returned.

Chris: What brings you here, Y/n?

Y/n: Besides just wanting to see you guys, I have something I think you'd both like.

Later.

Y/n led the two of them to an open area where Eggman and his robots were standing next to some sort of mini ship.

Helen: Eggman?

Chris: What's this all about?

Y/n: See, Robotnik came up to me and asked me to help him with a device that can send you both home.

Helen: Can that really be?

Decoe: Never underestimate the superiority of Dr. Eggman's intellect.

Bokkun: He gave his brain cells a real workout this time!

Chris: Uh... You mean this ship?

Bocoe: Yes, it will instantly transport you both back to your own world.

Eggman: This will be its first and only voyage.

Eggman/Bokkun/Decoe/Bocoe: So, pack your stuff and let's blast off!

Eggman: There's only enough power in its engines for one trip. After that, the machine will be useless. But it should be adequate to return you two to your world.

Chris: I can't believe you went through all this trouble just for us, Doctor.

Helen: Yeah, it is. So, what's the catch?

Eggman: (small chuckle) Clever girl. I'm absolutely certain it will return you to your planet, but I have no idea how old your bodies will be when you get there.

Y/n: But I did increase the chances of your bodies being the age they were when you left using leftover energy from the Master Emerald that Chaos left behind.

Chris: I have confidence in you and the Doctor. I'll take that chance.

Helen: If Chris is good, then so am I.

Eggman: But you only have a three minute window.

Decoe: That isn't much time, Doctor.

Bocoe: Can you make it three days so we can throw him a goodbye party?

Eggman: Impossible! The quantum alignment that makes travel possible between our worlds will only last for three more minutes! This is the only time when travel can occur. After that, Chris and Helen would be stuck here.

Chris: Can we return?

Dr. Eggman: It's difficult to say. I'm not sure the alignment will reoccur. It could be a week, or not for ten thousand years!

Chris: You mean the fact that we were able to travel here was just a fluke and we may not be able to come back?

Eggman: It would appear so. The universe has its own separate cycles. No matter how advanced our technology is, we can't change that.

Chris: I see. So, then, I guess this is goodbye, Doctor.

Eggman: You have been a terrific ally and worthy enemy. Good luck.

Helen: Same to you, you old jerk.

Helen looked to Y/n

Helen: I guess this is goodbye, Y/n.

Y/n: It would seem so. Know that I will miss you always, Helen and it was truly an honor to be your friend.

Y/n and Helen hugged before Y/n turned to Chris.

Y/n: Helen, why don't you set up the ship? Me and Chris need to have a private talk.

Helen: Okay.

Decoe: Y/n, the time.

Y/n: It won't take long, I promise.

Y/n took Chris to the side.

Chris: I guess this is about me dating Helen.

Y/n: It is.

Chris: Look, I promise I've been treating her right and I'll continue to-

Y/n: I know.

Chris: Huh?

Y/n: Look Christopher, I don't care if you want to be in a relationship with Helen. You're both young adults and kids will be kids, but if you even think of taking it to second base with her, you better be ready to put a ring on her finger.

Chris seemed flustered by this.

Chris: (blushing) Uh... okay.

Y/n: I'm serious, Chris. If you get her pregnant I'll make you marry her, even if I have to break through the quantum alignment myself to put a blade to your throat. Family always comes first.

Chris: I know. You're right.

Y/n took Chris back to the ship and Chris got in.

Bokkun: You could stay here with us, you know! I'm sure Dr. Eggman would offer you both jobs if you asked him. We could always use good help around here!

Decoe: Take care, Chris and Helen!

Bocoe: Say hello to your family for us!

Helen: I just wish we could've said goodbye to everyone.

Y/n: Don't worry, I already told the others.

Eggman pushed a button and sent them off.

Y/n: All right, now to tell the others, it's time.

With Chris and Helen.

They looked out the window.

Helen: We all had fun, didn't we?

Chris: We sure did. My only regret was we didn't get to personally say goodbye.

Helen laid her head on his shoulder and sighed.

Helen: Me, too.

???: Hey!

Chris/Helen: Huh?

They turned to see everyone was flying next to their ship. Cream flying while holding Star. Tails, Amy, and Knuckles were flying in the X-Tornado. And Rouge was flying along with Sonic and Y/n, who both in their Super Forms.

Everyone: Goodbye, Chris and Helen!

The sight made Chris and Helen tear up.

Chris: Sonic, Y/n, everyone.

Helen: Chris, we sure have some good friends.

And with that, Chris and Helen were gone.
