The Blue Typhoon was attacked by some Metarex ships, but the laser shield protected it. Everyone was watching from the bridge.

Cream: More Metarex!

Cheese: Chao, chao!

They saw the Metarex were actually after another ship.

Sonic: Somebody's in trouble.

Chris: We're getting a signal. There's a Chaos Emerald somewhere on board that craft.

Cosmo: They're in great danger. If what Chris says it's true, then those Metarex will stop at nothing to get what they want. We must help them.

Sonic: She's right. What do you say, Chris?

Chris: Okay.

Tails: As Captain, I hereby veto that plan. We have our safety to think about.

Y/n: I agree. Plus, it seems little strange that the Metarex are giving up an opportunity to try and get rid of us just to chase a ship.

Sonic and Chris already left though.

Sonic: Later, kids.

Cream: Looks like you're too late.

Y/n: Son of a bitch.

Tails: Why do they even bother having a captain or a voice of reason anyway?

Y/n: To be honest, Tails. No one really elected anyone as Captain.

Sonic got on Chris' ship and they both chased after the Metarex.

Sonic: We'll be on that mystery shipping no time.

Chris: Hope they're okay out there.

The Metarex were shoot the ship with rabid fire.

Sonic: Man, they really got that thing surrounded.

Chris: Yeah, you're right. Looks pretty bad.

Sonic jumped off Chris's ship and used Spindash to destroy the Metarex ships except one which Chris destroyed with missile.

Sonic: Good shot.

Inside the Typhoon.

Tails and Y/n were working on the engine when Star and Cosmo came to them with so tea.

Cosmo: Hiya, boys.

Star: Yo.

Tails: Hey, how you doing, Cosmo?

Y/n: To what do we owe the pleasure, my dear wife and sister-in-law?

Cosmo: You hungry?

Tails: I'm sorry, but we just don't have time. This modification job's a real pain. I told Chris I'd modify the energy sequencer and reconnected it to the Master Emerald with a stronger magnetic field, but if I do that, the frequencies will get out of whack. I suppose I could bypass by going directly through the- Uh, sorry about that. Didn't mean to get all geeky on you again.

Cosmo: Ah. Don't apologize. After all, you can't help it if you're the smartest guy around.

Star: Well, second smartest. Speaking of which, what are you up to, babe?

Y/n: I'm upgrading the energy sequencer to gain power from my lightning. This incase Knuckles can't get to the Emerald.

Chris: (Over com: Tails, Y/n, come up here right away! You've gotta see this!)

Everyone in the Typhoon entered some sort of place where the surrounding area was spinning with energy and rainbow colored lightning.

Chris: Look at all that energy swirling around.

Y/n: What even is this place? It definitely isn't somewhere safe.

Tails: I don't like this. I have a feeling if we go any further, we might never come out.

Cream: I'm with Tails.

Cosmo: But we can't give up on them now.

Tails: Okay. I'm gonna chance it. We're going in.

They went in further and the lightning tried to strike them, but the laser shield took the hit.

Tails: I may be able to drag it out of there. Activate Typhoon claw and nice and slow.

Chris: Roger.

The Typhoon's grabber claw went for the small ship, but it cut the claw. Surprising everyone. Then, Decoe showed up on the monitor.

Decoe: Sorry to have to cut you off, kids.

Chris: It's Decoe!

Decoe turned around and flew off.

Amy: Correction. That was Decoe.

Cream: Maybe he doesn't want our help after all.

Y/n: Or this is a trap.

Suddenly, a whole bunch of Metarex ships came up behind them.

Tails: The Metarex! It's a trap. Hang on, everybody! I'm gonna do a fast 180!

Tails turned the Typhoon around to face the Metarex fleet.

Chris; Be careful, Tails.

They saw the big ship had Eggman's logo on it.

Sonic: Eggman! I should have known he's joined forces with them.

Y/n: Mobius most hated allied with the Galaxy's most hated. Sure, why not?

Metarex ships began to fly towards them.

Sonic: They're closing in, Tails.

Cream: What do we do?! We can't turn around! If we do, we'll head straight into that black hole! Either way, we're in danger!

Star: Creamy, relax. We'll get through this.

Tails: Right. I say, we forge ahead and fight as hard as we can. Typhoon Tornadoes, let's move out!

Amy: Typhoon Tornadoes?

Tails: It's our new team name.

Star: Well, it's a stupid name. I'm sticking with Team Thunder.

Helen: Same.

Tails: Think maybe we can argue about this later, guys?

Y/n: As stupid as the name is, we have more important things to worry about.

Sonic: Let's go get 'em!

Amy, Cream and Chris got in their respective ships and Sonic was riding on Chris' plane, heading for the Metarex.

Chris: Ready to launch Nitro Blaster!

Chris shot Sonic his hover shoes, allowing him to fly. Then a ball of energy formed on his foot.

Sonic: Let's kick it.

Sonic kicked the ball at the Metarex, destroying three ships.

Sonic: That's three points for three ships.

The Metarex ships began to rabidly fire lasers at Team Sonic's ships, causing them to retreat. The Metarex's lasers were even hitting there own men.

Chris: They're blasting their own fighter planes, Sonic.

Y/n: The Metarex has showed on multiple occasions that they care about the success of their mission than survival of their men.

The Typhoon began to shake as the blast hit the shield.

Cosmo: The shield's not working! They're too strong for us!

Chaos: Too strong for you, definitely. But not for us.

Knuckles called from the engine room.

Knuckles: They're firing at anything they can. I think we should retreat, fast!

Y/n: It does sound like our safest option.

Cream called in.

Cream: But we can turn back! We've come too far.

Knuckles: What do you say, Tails? Do we fight?!

Y/n: Tails, even though I'm usually the one to want to keep fighting, we need to think of our team's safety.

Tails thought for a bit.

Tails: We'll use the power cannon. The best thing to do is to aim directly for the Mothership.

Y/n: But Tails-

Helen: Y/n, I know you're thinking about everyone's safety, but this could be our chance to take out the Commanders.

Y/n: Fine, but we retreat if this doesn't work.

They got out the cannon and Sonic and Y/n got in.

Tails: Let's give them all we got! Target locked on! Okay, guys, get ready.

Sonic and Y/n got in their Spindashes.

Tails: Prepare Power Cannon! Okay, fire!

They fired the two hedgehogs out of the cannon in their lightning ball and dragon, but a big star shaped shield blocked them

Chris: Sonic!

Helen: Y/n, no!

The energy from the shield got into the engine onto the Master Emerald.

Knuckles: Hang on!

Knuckles tried to contain the energy, but got blasted back.

Tails: Oh, no! Sonic and Y/n got zapped out there! What have I done?

Sonic and Y/n were falling, but Y/n was the only one who could regain consciousness.

Y/n: (grunt) Damn them.

Y/n focused on his anger as lightning struck him and he entered that form he was in when fought Sonic. Then he turned into lightning to get him and Sonic back on the ship safely.

Y/n: (panting) This new form is definitely something I need to work more on later.

He exited the form and with the help of Chaos, he got himself and Sonic back inside the ship.

Y/n: Star, Sonic needs healing.

Star: What about you?

Y/n: I didn't take it as bad as he did, Chaos healing should be for me.

Star and Amy took Sonic to the medical room.

Y/n: What's the status?

Chris: That blast sure did do some damage to the main engine, but I think we'll be okay, just as long as we can keep it under a certain speed. We have to conserve whatever energy we've got until we can recharge that Master Emerald.

Y/n: All right. Tails, you got that?

Tails was on his knees with his eyes in shock.

Chris: Tails? You doing okay?

Tails: Uh, yeah, I'm okay, Chris.

Cream received a danger signal.

Cream: Oh, no. We're getting a danger signal! What now?!

Chris: I'm not so sure the Typhoon can make it through another attack, Tails.

Tails: I- I'm not worthy to be captain, I'm just not!

Tails ran out.

Cosmo: Tails, come back!

Y/n: Chaos, Helen keep everything here in order.

Cosmo and Y/n ran after Tails.

Cosmo: Tails, please wait.

Tails: How could I do something so stupid?

Cosmo: Tails, you can't blame yourself for what happened.

Tails: It's because of me Sonic, Knuckles, and Y/n got hurt.

Y/n: You simply made a mistake.

Tails: We should've retreated like you said, Y/n. Face it, I don't have the right to call myself captain of anything.

Cosmo: How can you say that, Tails. Nobody but you could be captain and you know it.

Tails: I'm just a big failure. Y/n would make a much better captain.

Cosmo: You're not a failure in my eyes. Just think of the hundreds of times when you've helped your friends when they were in trouble. I've never known anyone as Brave as you.

Tails: Really?

Cosmo: Just think of all the times you've saved your friends from danger. I'm proud to be under the command of such a noble captain.

Y/n placed a hand on Tails shoulder.

Y/n: And if you need help, I'm here for you.

Tails: Hey, thanks.

In the bridge.

Eggman appeared on the monitor.

Eggman: Howdy, kid. You and your pals getting ready for the big bad Showdown?

Chris: We're ready for anything you and those Metarex dish out, just try us.

Eggman: Who'd have thought such big talk could come from such a small fry?

Helen: Well, this "small fry" has accomplished more in one day than you have in your entire life.

Eggman: Grr. I see Y/n taught his little fan how to mouth off. Where is that old chap anyway? Kissing up with lovely flower? Well, while lover boy is busy, here's a little bit of news for you. You have five minutes till that Typhoon's toast. Now, if I were in your place, kid. I'd say farewell to my little friends and love interest, cause this is gonna be a blast.

Eggman laughed before cutting the line.

Cream: Now what do we do?

Chris: I don't know.

Chaos: Would be nice if my partner was here.

Tails came back with Cosmo.

Tails: Hey, gang. I got it under control. We've got five minutes left and that's five minutes to win.

Chris: Tails, you're back.

Helen: But where's Y/n?

Tails: He's in the engine room, working out the first step of his plan. Chaos, he said you might be needed down there.

Chaos nodded and ran to the engine.

Helen: So, what's the plan?

Tails: We're going to make a reverse magnetic field to get out of here.

Cream: But what if we get sucked inside of it.

Chris: It might be tough, but it's the only chance we've got. We'll just have to give it every ounce of energy we possibly can.

Tails: Y/n's using that new setting on the engine to give us more power.

In the engine.

Y/n began striking a panel with his lightning with Chaos watching.

Y/n: And should we find that my lightning isn't enough, we'll use your connection to the Master Emerald to get some power out of it.

Back in the bridge.

Tails: Normally, we would need the Ring Tunnel to do something like this, but Y/n has a substitute for it that he'll use on my command.

Everyone got into position.

Tails: All right, Y/n. Ready when you are.

Y/n: All right, Chaos. Use as much Master Emerald power as you can get.

Chaos: Yes, My Lord.

Y/n ran out of the engine room and on top of the Typhoon.

Y/n: Let's hope this works.

Y/n threw off his weights and limiters.

Y/n: Here. We. GO!

Y/n went full speed while spinning and charging a Thunder Jab. Then Y/n looked at the lightning in his hand with his Dragoon Eyes.

Y/n: Black Lightning! Dark Rajin!

Y/n's lightning formed a second layer of black lightning as his eyes bleed.

Y/n: Black Thunder Jab!

Y/n went into the wormhole hole at struck it, but after a bit, he was spat out of it with a badly burnt left arm.

Helen: Y/n!

A vine grabbed him and pulled him in. The vine belonged to Star.

Star: Am I a good wife or what?

The wormholes spin begins to change.

Tails: Okay, let's bring her in slow and steady, gang. Now, hang on real tight.

They began heading towards the wormhole.

In the engine.

Chaos was trying to draw power from the Master Emerald, but he could barely do it.

Chaos: It seems being away from the Master Emerald for so long has caused my connection to it to weaken dramatically.

In the bridge.

Amy: We're losing engine power, Tails!

Tails: It's the Master Emerald. Let this work please!

Back in the engine.

Chaos: Come on, just a little more!

He saw Knuckles climbing up to the Master Emerald.

Knuckles: The seven Chaos Emeralds are the servers. Chaos is the power, Chaos is the power enriched by the heart!

The ships power skyrocketed as they went through the wormhole getting them back to the galaxy.

Tails: We did it!

Chaos caught Knuckles before he fell.

Chaos: Better get you back to bed.

Later.

Tails was in the medical room with Sonic and Knuckles.

Tails: I just wanted to tell you guys how sorry I am.

Knuckles: Sorry? If it weren't for you, none of us would be here. Thanks, buddy.

Sonic: Yeah, thanks pal. I mean, Captain.

Tails: Thanks, you guys. You're the best.

In Y/n's room.

Star was giving him treatment.

Star: I told you to stop being so reckless.

Y/n: If you've got time to gab, you've got time to get this done.

Star got done wrapping up his arm.

Star: You know, with this and your recent eye strain, I think it would be best if you sat the next mission out.

Y/n didn't look like he was happy about that.

Star: But hey, I'll be here too.

Star tried to give Y/n a kiss on the cheek, but he grabbed her face and kissed her lips, shocking her. It lasted for a bit until it broke.

Star: I-I guess this means you're happy with me being around.

Y/n: Certainly, my love.
