A helicopter with a bunch of men were flying above Station Square.

Pilot: Attention, control. We are currently heading south. Suspect is in custody.

Operator: This is control speaking. We've verified your position. Handle suspect carefully. He's a slippery little guy.

They had Sonic in handcuffs.

Man: You're awful quiet.

Sonic: So what?

Man: Well, from what I heard, you caused quite a ruckus over at Prison Island the other night. Now we can't get two words out of ya!

Sonic: Guess I'm not feelin' too chatty.

Man 2: You better watch that smart mouth, hedgehog, or you'll be runnin' laps in a ten-by-nine cell!

Sonic quickly beat the men up, got off his cuffs, and got out of the helicopter.

Sonic: I gotta get the jump on these fly guys.

Pilot: Hey, what do you think you're doin'? Come back!

Sonic took a piece off of the helicopter and jumped off riding the piece like a skate bord and rode up a skate tube and ran off.

Chris was walking with a boy his age.

Boy: Hey, Chris, I heard you come from Station Square.

Chris: Er, yeah.

Boy: Have you ever seen Sonic or Y/n the Hedgehog up close?

Chris: Er, Sonic and Y/n? Well, sorta.

Boy: What are they like? Are they really that fast?

Chris: You bet they're fast! They're faster than anybody. And Sonic's nicer than anybody while Y/n can be a bit mean, he can also be pretty protective.

Boy: Wish I could meet them. Who knows. If we're lucky, maybe we'll both get to meet them some day. Well, I gotta get to class. Later!

Chris: See ya!

The boy ran off.

In a limo.

The President and his woman were discussing important matters.

Woman: Mr. President, it appears our undercover operative has settled into his new mission and will have all of the resources necessary.

President: Good work. And what about the flood?

Woman: Well, sir, I've read the full report over the last few days. There was some damage, but from what I can gather, none of the citizens were harmed in any way.

President: And what about Sonic, is there any new information?

Woman: I'm afraid it doesn't look good. And with a crime of this magnitude, sir, I'm not sure the government should get involved.

President: I don't know. This just doesn't sound like him.

Sam: I agree with you, sir. Sonic would never do such a thing. I think he's been wrongly accused, Mr. President, and I think you should do something about it!

President: Just drive!

Woman: Either way, I don't feel it would look good for us to be involved. We should wash our hands of him.

President: Do you really think so?

Woman: I do, sir.

Sam: Hey, what makes you think it wasn't Y/n?

President: Because Y/n has an alibi. He was with a woman named Ella all night, looking for a good school to enrole Cream into.

Sam: Man, the lengths that guy will go for that rabbit.

Later.

In a museum a hedgehog like figure stood in front of a glass case holding the Green Chaos Emerald, but it was so dark the figures face wasn't visible. The alarm sounded and the figure got surrounded by drones as it was leaving. They shot at the hedgehog but it dodged and effortlessly destroyed all of them.

At the white house.

Man: Mr. President, I have some bad news. Sonic was just seen at the National Museum of Art attempting to steal the Chaos Emerald.

President: It can't be!

Man: My men are awaiting your instructions, sir.

President: We have no choice. Find him and place him under arrest.

Man: Yes, Mr. President. I'll alert all divisions immediately, sir.

At the Thorndyke's new place.

They were all watching the news.

Reporter: And now, a breaking news story. I'm standing in the main pavilion of the National Museum of Art, where earlier tonight, a thief broke through security and stole a priceless Chaos Emerald. Authorities found these images on tapes confiscated from the museum's security cameras.

They looked at the footage.

Chris: Was that Sonic?

Cream: It can't be! Sonic would never take something that didn't belong to him!

Cheese: Chao, chao, chao, chao, chao, chao!

Chuck: Yeah, right. That was Sonic on those security tapes!

Chris: It can't be!

Ella/Mr. Tanaka: He was framed!

Cream: That's right!

Chaos: Hmm.

Y/n: There something wrong, Chaos?

Chaos: I want to take another look at the footage.

Y/n: Chuck, play the tapes again.

Chuck reminded the tapes and let it play.

Chaos: Pause it there!

Chuck paused the footage.

Y/n: That definitely isn't Sonic.

Chuck: How can you be sure?

Y/n: Sonic is blue, that hedgehog is black. Great work catching that, Chaos.

Chaos: It was nothing.

Reporter: According to reports, Sonic has destroyed numerous government tanks and fled to an unknown location.

Chris: But there... There must be some kind of mistake! Sonic wouldn't. Y/n, Chaos, you even said it wasn't him.

Y/n: Yes, but not everyone is as observant as me.

Cream: What do you think, big brother?

Y/n: Well, we don't have enough information. It would help if I knew that hedgehog in the video.

With Sonic.

He was fighting off government robots and was now facing a big one.

Sonic: Can't hang around, big guy, sorry. I'll give you a ring sometime, (pulls out ring) what do you say?

The robot fired lasers at Sonic who easily dodged them and Spindashed the lasers off.

Sonic: Now, that's what I call a tight squeeze!

The robot fired missiles at Sonic who ran up a building to avoid them, but the missiles followed him. Sonic jumped on the robot and dodged the missiles that hit the robot and destroyed it.

Sonic: That guy's gotta work on his aim a little bit!

A yellow light appeared on the robot.

Sonic: Huh? What the...

The light faded and a black hedgehog with red lines on his quills, red eyes, white fluffy chest hair, a golden ring on each of his wrist and red and white shoes stood on the robot.

Hedgehog: Good evening. I must say, it's a pleasure to finally meet you face-to-face, Sonic. We do look alike. It's uncanny!

Sonic: Wait a minute! So it's you that's been gettin' me in all this hot water lately! Impostor!

Sonic charged at the black hedgehog but he disappeared into thin air. Sonic looked around and found the black hedgehog on top of a building.

Hedgehog: I assure you, Sonic, I'm no impostor. I possess far too much power to be anything but the real thing!

Sonic: Well, if you're so powerful, let's see you prove it.

Sonic ran at the hedgehog, but he disappeared on a different roof.

Sonic: Hey, not bad! I'm almost impressed! How about a little race action?

Sonic ran down and the other hedgehog followed him, they seemed to be evenly matched, but the black hedgehog looked like he was more gliding on ice than running.

At the Thorndyke place.

Chuck was on the phone with someone.

Chuck: You're kidding! Unbelievable! Well, be sure to call us right away if anything else happens.

He hung up.

Chuck: That was your father. Apparently, Sonic's been spotted battling a government robot on Downhill Street.

Y/n: I'm gonna check it out.

Chaos came from his bracelet.

Chaos: I'm coming too.

Y/n: You got any useful attacks?

Chaos: I can defend from any wide range attack, and I'm good with long range attacks.

Y/n: You've said enough. Let's go.

Chaos sunk back into the bracelet and Y/n ran out of there.

Back with Sonic and the black hedgehog.

They were still running from together.

Sonic: (Thinking: He's tougher than I thought he was!)

Hedgehog: Hah! Think you can beat me?

Sonic ran ahead.

Hedgehog: Not quite.

The hedgehog disappeared and that's when Chris, Chuck, and Mr. Tanaka arrived in a car. The hedgehog than hit Sonic in the back of the head.

Sonic: What just happened?

The black hedgehog stood over Sonic holding the green Chaos Emerald.

Chris: He's got a Chaos Emerald!

Sonic: Where'd you get that Chaos Emerald, ya phony freak? Hand it over!

Sonic ran at the hedgehog but he disappeared and reappeared.

Hedgehog: You can do better than that, Sonic! If you don't light a fire under those feet, you'll never get this emerald back.

Sonic charged the hedgehog again but he vanished again.

Sonic: He really is faster than I am!

Chuck: But that's not speed! He's disappearing!

The black hedgehog was standing on a lamp post.

Hedgehog: That's not all. I'm full of surprises!

He raised up the Chaos Emerald.

Hedgehog: Chaos Control now!

The emerald started to glow bright and the hedgehog disappeared once again. Sonic began to run.

Sonic: (Thinking: He can cause Chaos Control with just one Chaos Emerald? Who is he? And where did he come from?)

The black hedgehog appeared beside Sonic and avoided Sonic's kick. He then hit Sonic with a barrage of attacks.

Chris: Leave him alone!

Sonic: Like to fight dirty, don't ya?

Hedgehog: Consider yourself fortunate. If I'd used my full strength, you'd have been much worse off than this. Many years ago, Professor Gerald Robotnik endowed me with the power of Chaos Control. A normal creature like yourself doesn't stand a chance against me.

Sonic: (scoff) Don't underestimate us normal types.

The black hedgehog suddenly got kicked upwards by Y/n who continued to kick the hedgehog high in the air and kicked the hedgehog down with a final kick.

Chris: Y/n!

Sonic: Boy, am I glad to see you, Y/n.

Y/n: I didn't do that for you, I just wanted to teach this dirty black faker a lesson.

Sonic: Aw, I thought I was your fake.

The hedgehog got up.

Hedgehog: You must be Y/n. You and I also seem to have an uncanny appearance.

Y/n: Well, this is embarrassing. You know my name, but don't know yours.

Shadow: You may call me Shadow.

Y/n: Well, Shadow, let's see if you can back up all that talk about a normal creature not being able to beat you.

Shadow: (wapping his bruised check) I will admit, those were some impressive kicks. A normal creature would be lucky to get back up after getting hit, but I am far from normal.

Y/n: Show me what you got.

Y/n ran at Shadow, but he disappeared again and was gonna kick Y/n from behind but he blocked it with his bracelet shield.

Shadow: (Thinking: He's got some fast reflexes.)

Y/n tried to slash Shadow, but he avoided it with a back flip.

Shadow: (Thinking: If I hadn't reacted in time, that would've cut my leg off. This might be tougher than I thought.)

He smiled.

Shadow: (Thinking: But there's nothing wrong with a good challenge.)

They both started running and even ran up the buildings.

Chris: This is getting intense!

Sonic: Yeah, anyone got any popcorn?

Mr. Tanaka chopped Sonic on the head.

Sonic: Ow!

Shadow jumped in the air and raised up his hand up.

Shadow: Chaos Spear!

He summoned dozens of small yellow spears and fired them at Y/n and they were about to hit him, but Chaos' arm came out of the bracelet and blocked them all.

Shadow: What the?

Y/n: Nice save, Chaos.

Chaos: What do you say we take him out together?

Y/n: Let's give it a try.

Y/n stopped running and one of Chaos' arms which took a blade like shape incised Y/n's right arm.

Y/n/Chaos: Chaos Slash!

They slashed down vertically and it made a long range slash that slashed the street they were on, but Shadow was able to avoid it.

Chris: Woah.

Chuck: It seems Y/n used the power of Chaos to give that slash a longer range.

Shadow Spindashed at Y/n who countered with his own Spindash. They canceled each other out and when they got out of the spin, Shadow punched Y/n in the stomach which made Y/n cough blood and hit the road hard.

Chris: Y/n!

Shadow: I will give you credit for doing better than Sonic did.

Sirens were heard in the near distance.

Shadow: I have a feeling I should make myself scarce. Goodbye, Y/n and Sonic. It certainly was a great pleasure! Chaos Control now!

He disappeared and the police rolled up.

Officer: Sonic! We've got you surrounded! You're under arrest! Put your hands up! Y/n, step aside if you don't want any trouble!

Sonic: No way! You can't arrest me! I didn't do anything! Honest!

Y/n: He's telling the truth!

Officer: I'm gonna give you till the count of five to surrender.

Y/n: This is stupid.

Chris: Arrest him, Y/n! Sonic's already in trouble and you could be to, just arrest Sonic! Please, Y/n!

Officer: Your time's up, buddy! Now let's move! We got a special cell over on Prison Island with your name on it, Sonic! And if you don't move, you'll join him, Y/n!

Sonic: Did you just say Prison Island?

Officer: Yeah, what about it?

Sonic: Really? You mean that's where you're taking me from here?

Officer: That's where we usually take criminals.

Y/n: Listen, the truth is-

Sonic interrupted him.

Sonic: He was about to cuff me before you showed up.

Y/n: Huh?

Sonic: (Whispering: If I'm on Prison Island, I might get some information on our doppelganger, just play along.)

Y/n: Yep, I was about to cuff him.

He pulled out handcuffs and put Sonic's hands behind his back.

Y/n: You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law.

Officer: Oh, sorry, Y/n. I had no idea you were helping, otherwise I wouldn't have said anything. But what's with the damage here.

Y/n: I had to make some risky actions to get him to cooperate.

He handed Sonic to the police.

Y/n: He's all yours.

Officer: Thanks.

They took Sonic away in a helicopter and flew away as Shadow watched from a building.

Shadow: (Thinking: I won't let anyone stand in my way. Least of all you, Sonic. Though, Y/n's gonna be an even bigger pain. Maria.)

Back at the Thorndyke's.

Chuck: This will be complicating.

Ella: It's just one thing after another.

Y/n: I'm betting Robotnik has something to do with all of this.

Chaos: I can't believe I used to work for him.

Ella: What's the plan now, Y/n.

Cream: I'm sure big brother has something in mind.

Y/n: I do, but it's gonna be a bit risky.

After the explanation.

Everyone: What?!

Ella: Are you mad or something?!

Chuck: I thought you said risky, not suicide!

Chris: Who knows what will happen if you get caught!

Y/n: I'll be careful. Calm down already.

Cream: But what if you get hurt or worse?

Cream hugged him.

Cream: You say you'll go insane if something were to happen to me, but what will I do if something happens to you?

Cheese: Chao, chao.

Y/n: (sighs and puts a hand on Cream's head) Look, I can't promise I'll come back in one piece, but I definitely will come back to you.

Cream: How can I be sure you won't break that promise?

Y/n: Look at me, Cream.

Cream looked up and met Y/n's calm gaze and kind smile.

Y/n: If you're unsure I'll come back then here.

He took off his scarf and put it on Cream.

Cream: Your mother's scarf?

Y/n: If you have it, then I'll have to come back for it.

Cream nodded.

Cream: I'll make sure it's in perfect condition when you come back.

Chaos: I'll be with you the whole time, Y/n. That's what partners are for, right?

Y/n: Yeah. We're off. Try not to miss us too much.

Ella: We won't, don't worry.

Y/n ran out the door and made a call.

President: Hello?

Y/n: Mr. President, I have a lead on Robotnik and Project: Shadow.

President: You do?

Y/n: Yes, but I'm gonna need your permission to go on a top secret undercover mission to confirm my info.

President: Undercover as what?

Y/n: As Robotnik's new henchmen.

A while later.

Y/n was standing over Station Square.

Y/n: I really hope this plan works.

He pulled out the dark blue Chaos Emerald.

Chaos: I can't believe how easy it was for you to get that.

Y/n: Let's see if I can do what Shadow did. Chaos Control!

The emerald started to glow and Y/n teleported to a desert in front of a metal pyramid.

Chaos: This is all a little too easy, if you ask me.

Y/n: If security is tight, we'll just destroy anything that gets in our way.

Inside.

Eggman was talking with Rouge who was holding a bouquet.

Eggman: Now that you've been introduced to Shadow, how about that emerald?

Rouge: Of course.

She dug into the bouquet.

Rouge: I don't have it!

Eggman: What?

Suddenly, the door got cut into pieces and they fell to the ground as Y/n stepped in.

Y/n: You need to reinforce your doors.

Eggman: Y/n? How did you get here?

Y/n: I used a little technique of Shadow's here.

He pulled out the Chaos Emerald.

Decoe: The Chaos Emerald!

Rouge: You sneaky hog.

Eggman: You better hand it over if you know what's good for you.

Y/n: I didn't come here to fight.

He dropped the emerald and kicked it to Eggman who looked confused.

Eggman: What's going on?

Y/n: I'm done with Sonic and all of his shenanigans. All this time you were the real great one, I was just too blind to see that until now.

He kneeled down to Eggman.

Y/n: I give you my life to help you build the all mighty Eggman Empire as a way to repent for my mistakes.

Chaos came from his bracelet.

Chaos: I was also a fool to betray the Eggman Empire, I was out of line. But now me and Y/n will give our lives to you.

Eggman: A sudden change. I must say, not even my genius could have thought of that.

Shadow: I say we let them join, he could be a great asset to our cause. They were able to hold there ground for a good amount of time.

Bokkun: Yeah, but he still lost. I say it would be a mistake to let a loser like him join-

Y/n shot a lightning bolt at Bokkun that missed by a hair shocking everyone.

Bocoe: Did he just shoot lightning at Bokkun?

Decoe: But he's not using the Chaos Emerald!

Eggman: How?

Y/n: I'll tell you if you'll let me and Chaos join.

Eggman: Very well.

Him and Y/n shook hands.

Y/n: Have you ever heard of the Thunderhog Clan?

Eggman smiled maniacally.

Eggman: I'm listening.
