Narrator: Last time on Sonic X x Male Reader, as part of a plan to capture Dr. Eggman, the President created a combat contest with a gem of a prize, a Chaos Emerald. As the battling began, the Commander-in-Chief got humiliated by his top agent. And the other competitors duked it out in a series of kooky clashes. The odds-on-favorites was Sonic until he found out he had to face-off against Amy. But the uncomfortable confrontation was avoided when Eggman butted into the battle. Y/n blocked a punch from Chris with his finger.

Y/n: Don't continue, Chris.

Chris charged him again, but Y/n dodged it this time.

Y/n: Chris, I don't want to hurt you. But I will if I must.

Chris: Quit defending!

Y/n: I will in ten short seconds.

Scarlet: That Chris Thorndyke certainly is brave!

Tails: Especially, since the other guy completely destroyed his last opponent.

Chris: Why don't you just forfeit so I can win!?

Y/n: That's not how a Thunderhog battles.

Chris went for one more charge, but Y/n tripped him over out of the stadium.

Elmer: Y/n moves on!

Chuck went to Chris.

Chunk: It may not seem like it, Chris, but I think you losing was a good thing.

Chris: Yeah. Even if I moved on, there's no way I'd win against Amy or Rouge.

Cream: You did it, Y/n! Way to go!

Cheese: Chao!

The next fight was between Lucky and Mr. Stewart. Mr. Stewart was walking on to the stadium, but Scarlet stopped to talk to him.

Scarlet: Mr. Stewart! How would you rate your opponent?

When Mr. Stewart turned to her, he was surprised to see his face.

Scarlet: Uh! Franklin! What are you doing here?

Mr. Stewart: I just look like me!

Mr. Stewart ran away.

Mr. Stewart: Ahh! My cover's been blown!

Lucky won the battle by default. The next match was between Emerl and Mr. Tanaka, who was wearing a blue kimono and had a wooden stick. The bell rang

Mr. Tanaka: Brace yourself, my little friend. I am going to stick it to you!

Mr. Tanaka jumped into the air and try to strike Emerl, but he caught the stick.

Mr. Tanaka: Oh, no!

Emerl took the stick jumped and into the air.

Mr. Tanaka: I think I'm on the wrong end of that stick.

Mr. Tanaka ducked down to prepare for the strike, but the stick stopped mere inches away from his head.

Mr. Tanaka: I give up!

Cream: Yay, Emerl!

Cheese: Chao, chao!

Rouge and Amy's fight finally came and started.

Amy: Let's go!

Rouge: This ought to be interesting.

The started a fierce trade of blows with each other.

Amy: After you, it's Y/n next.

Rouge: Please. Your blue hedgehog could've easily defeated you if he felt like it, and he couldn't compare to mine.

Amy: Why you...

The clash continued.

Chris: I'd really be going to the hospital if I messed with one o' them.

Chuck: I'd honestly be more worried about Y/n since he's going against the winner of this match.

They clashed one last time and Rouge knocked Amy's hammer out of the stadium, leaving Amy panting.

Rouge: This just proves a hammer's no match for a bat.

Rouge won the match a went back stage.

Scarlet: We're down to the final four now. Emerl versus Lucky and Y/n against Rouge.

Y/n caught up to Rouge backstage.

Y/n: Hey.

Rouge: Hi.

Y/n: Look, I'm sorry that things turned out this way. We just made up and now we have to fight.

Rouge: It's fine. Really.

Knuckles with bandages wrapped around his arms and ribs walked to them.

Knuckles: Just know, he most likely won't hold back.

Y/n: Yeah, sorry about that, Knuckles.

Knuckles: It's fine. I'm just glad you made more of that special ointment. If I didn't have it, I don't even think I'd be walking right now.

Knuckles noticed Y/n didn't have his bandages.

Knuckles: Hey, Y/n, why aren't you wearing your bandages? The doctor said you had broken ribs, too.

Chaos showed up.

Chaos: See, that's because I healed him.

Knuckles: You?

Chaos: Here, let me see your arm and I'll show you.

Knuckles lifted his right arm to Chaos who touched Knuckles arm and light blue energy came from Chaos's hand.

Chaos: I got it.

Chaos took his hand off Knuckles arm and Knuckles took off the bandages.

Knuckles: That's amazing.

Y/n: It it's how I'm gonna fix Helen's legs.

Rouge: Y/n.

Rouge extended her hand to Y/n.

Rouge: No hard feelings?

Y/n: Yeah.

Y/n shook her hand.

Y/n: May the fighter win.

Emerl and Lucky's match started.

Scarlet: The semi-finals begin with a showdown between robotic rivals.

Lucky was dancing around the stadium until he fell down.

Scarlet: Uh-oh. It looks like Lucky's grandstanding has used up his power supply.

Elmer: Emerl is the winner!

The crowd went wild.

Cream: That means Emerl's made it to the final round! Yay, yah!

Cheese: Chao, chao!

Cream: Oh, but if Y/n wins his match, then him and Emerl will have to fight.

The bell rang signaling the start of Y/n and Rouge's fight

Rouge: (Thinking: Y/n is strong, fast and smart. Beating him isn't gonna be easy. But I have to if I'm getting my hands on that gorgeous Emerald.)

Y/n crossed his arms.

Y/n: Go on, I'll let you get two hits off me.

Rouge: Are you sure?

Y/n: Positive.

Rouge: Just remember, you asked for it!

Rouge kicked Y/n in the chest then in the head, pushing him near the edge.

Rouge: Now, to end this. Screw Kick!

Rouge went right at Y/n who ducked his head and Rouge hit the outside of the stadium.

Scarlet: What just happened, Tails?

Tails: Well, Y/n used Rouge's desire to get the Chaos Emerald to his advantage. He made Rouge get so confident that she could win with just two hits so she'd forget that he could easily react to her attacks.

Rouge: Truly incredible, boo.

Y/n: You hit harder than I thought you would.

Scarlet: Y/n is moving on to the final round!

Later.

Cream talked to Y/n before his match.

Cream: You were so cool out there, big brother!

Y/n: Yeah, but now I'm gonna have to fight Emerl. You two are pretty close so are you going to be okay?

Cream: Sure I'm okay.

Y/n: Well, I will say I'm proud of how well you're taking this.

He patted Cream's head and walked to the stadium to not see Cream's sad face.

Elmer: And now ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the final match! The winner will take home a Chaos Emerald! In this corner, we have the thundering warrior, Y/n! And in this corner, we have the master of computerized combat, Emerl!

Cream: Uh, who do I cheer for?

Scarlet: With fighters this closely matched, I'd say we're in for the most grueling bout of the tournament.

Y/n: I'm pulling out all the stops.

Y/n took off his weights and ran to Emerl to grabbed both of his arms and pull them.

Cream: Come on, Emerl!

Emerl got into Screw Kick and spun Y/n around.

Chris: Emerl copied that from Rouge!

Emerl threw Y/n off of him and was about to hit him with the Screw Kick.

Cream: Y/n, get out of the way!

Y/n blocked the kick with his shield.

Y/n: I spin all the time, it'll take a lot more than that to get the drop on me.

Emerl bounced off of Y/n's shield and a yellow aura formed around him.

Y/n: (getting up) Now, let's continue.

A blue aura surrounded Y/n and both him and Emerl charged each other.

Chris: This match is getting intense, Grandpa.

Rouge: It hard to tell if my light blue boo will win or not.

Spark: This is a fight between true warriors.

Cream: Emerl, Y/n.

They both broke apart.

Y/n: Let's end this.

Emerl and Y/n both charged up a Spindash and were about to strike each other.

Cream: Stop!

They both got out off their spin and saw Cream climb up to the stadium.

Scarlet: A shocking turn off events just occurred when this little rabbit stepped in.

Y/n: Cream, what are you doing?

Cream: I'm sorry, it's just... I can't sit by and watch this!

Y/n: Cream-

Cream: No, I'm talking your listening! Along with my mom and Cheese, you two are my most favorite people in the world! I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I just watched as you two to got hurt!

Cheese: Chao.

There were a few "awws" in the crowd.

Cream: Isn't there a way for you both to win without getting hurt?

Y/n thought for a moment.

Y/n: Actually, I think there is.

He looked at Emerl.

Y/n: Emerl, for the sake of Cream, I would like to offer a draw.

Y/n extended his hand to Emerl.

Scarlet: This was unexpected! Will Emerl except the draw?

Emerl looked at Y/n's for a few seconds and then shook it.

Elmer: And it is a draw!

Cream smiled.

Cream: I feel a lot better knowing that you two aren't going to hurt each other anymore.

Y/n: (Thinking: Cream, I may never say this out loud, but I'll do anything just to see that smile.)

Later at dusk.

Scarlet: Now, it's time to present the grand prize to our champions.

Y/n and Emerl were standing at the bottom of the stadium with Cream, Cheese, Vanilla, Spark and Chaos.

Cream: That's you two. Go up and get your Chaos Emerald! Then everybody will cheer for you two and you two can take a bow!

Chaos: (Whispering: Honestly never thought you would win the Emerald this way. Then again, I did read somewhere that love makes you crazy.)

Y/n: (Whispering: I get the slight feeling that you're mocking me.)

Chaos: (Whispering: I totally am.)

Spark: Y/n, what are you waiting for? Go get your Emerald.

Y/n: Right.

Y/n and Emerl walked up to the stadium.

Scarlet: Let's hear it for Emerl and Y/n.

The crowd went wild as Y/n and Emerl walked to the President.

President: Congratulations, guys. That was great!

He shook both their hands.

Y/n: Sorry that I had to knock you out in the first round though, sir.

President: Water under the bridge. I should've known I wouldn't make it far from the start.

The President looked at his aide.

President: Bring the award.

The aide went to get the Chaos Emerald.

Scarlet: The Chaos Emerald that the President is presenting to our two winners is the most valuable prize ever awarded in a sporting competition.

President: Y/n, Emerl, as we build a fighting force to combat Dr. Eggman, your unexpected draw is an inspiration to all our fighting soldiers and robots.

The President gave Y/n the Chaos Emerald.

Y/n: Thank you, Mr. President.

Y/n gave the Emerald to Emerl.

Y/n: Here, you hold for a bit.

President: On behalf of the whole nation, I congratulate Y/n and Emerl.

The crowd continued to cheer as the spotlight was shining on the two fighters. After a bit of Emerl looking at the Chaos Emerald, it shimmered and disappeared then Emerl's eyes turned red.

Y/n: Emerl, what happened to the Emerald?

Emerl tried to punch Y/n, but Y/n reacted in time to block the attack with his shield and just get sent back a bit. The whole crowd gasped and Emerl started to comment mass destruction.

Cream: Emerl, is there something that made you angry? Why are you attacking everybody?

Sonic, Knuckles and Rouge came to stop Emerl, but he easily dealt with all three of them.

Cream: Stop before it's too late!

Emerl was about to Screw Kick Vanilla, but a Chaos Whip from Y/n pulled her out of the way.

Y/n: You okay?

Vanilla: Yeah, Thanks to you and Chaos.

Chaos: Just stay out of the way and let the professionals handle things.

Cream: Emerl, that's it. I can't be your friend.

Amy ran at Emerl with her hammer.

Amy: I'll knock Emerl out so we can open up his control panel and check out why he's malfunctioning!

She was about to smash Emerl, but he grabbed the pipe and started deflecting all her attacks and eventually knocked her hammer away to strike her now.

Amy: Sonic, come help me!

Sonic jumped and destroyed Emerl's pipe.

Cream: Emerl! This isn't a game! You've got to stop right now or somebody is going to get hurt!

Emerl turned his attention to Cream and was about to hit her with a spinning punch.

Y/n: Stay away from her!

Chaos incised Y/n's right leg.

Y/n/Chaos: Chaos Sweep!

The Chaos leg extended and kicked Emerl away.

Y/n: Cream, if you're not gonna help, get somewhere safe. Chaos, help her out with that.

Chaos: But what about you.

Y/n: You saw our fight, I can keep up with him. Right now, make Cream, Cheese and Vanilla's safety your top priority.

Chaos: (nod) Come on, let's go.

Chaos took them to a roof top with Chris and Chuck and they saw Emerl destroyed Station Square from above.

Cream: Why is he acting this way?

Chuck: My guess is that the Chaos Emerald suddenly caused Emerl's memory unit to reprogram itself. But I don't have any idea how or why it happened.

Chris: Can't we just fix Emerl and change him back to the way he was before?

Chuck: That would be tough.

Back on the ground.

Sonic and Knuckles stopped Emerl.

Knuckles: I'm ready to fight again. Only this time I'm adding a little twist!

Knuckles twirled around like Rouge's Screw Kick, but Emerl just copied and countered it.

Chuck: Emerl's copying ability gives him a huge advantage. Knuckles' fighting skills don't matter. Emerl can match him blow for blow. When Knuckles attacks with all his might, he gets attacked with the same force. It's almost like he's fighting against himself.

Sonic: He can't win

Rouge flew in and Y/n also showed up with Spark.

Rouge: Give up and give us a shot, Knuckles.

Emerl was beating Knuckles while he was on the ground at this point.

Knuckles: I still have a chance.

Sonic: Yeah, a chance of winding up in the hospital again.

Rouge: Let us handle this.

Knuckles: I am not a quitter!

Amy: I'll stop that robot.

Her and Rouge glared at each other and Emerl almost hit Amy with a Spindash, but Sonic ran her out of the way.

Sonic: Amy!

Amy: You saved me again, Sonic!

He left her and went back went back to the fight.

Amy: Not that I needed saving!

Y/n: Would you please quit yelling, Rose? You're giving me a headache.

Cream was clinging on to her mother's side in fear as Emerl kept handing it to everyone.

Sonic: (Thinking: That robot must have some weakness.)

Tails ran at Emerl.

Tails: I'm gonna take Emerl apart!

Amy ran at him from the other side.

Amy: Let me have a crack at him first, Tails!

Emerl jumped causing Tails and Amy to crash into each other.

Tails: Sorry.

Amy: That's okay.

Emerl continued fighting everyone until they started panting.

Sonic: Well, now what?

Spark: Let me take care of this.

Spark ran at Emerl and grabbed his arms.

Spark: A simple stream of lightning should be enough to shut you down.

Before Spark could use his lightning, Emerl spun around in Screw Kick, threw Spark off him and kicked Spark in the gut.

Y/n: Uncle, are you okay?

Spark: I think.

Y/n ran Spark to Chaos.

Y/n: Chaos, hurry, heal him.

Chaos: On it.

Sonic: Now what do we do?

Knuckles: Maybe if all four of us fight it at once.

Rouge: It's our only chance.

Emerl ran away and the other four chased after him.

Sonic: I'll cut him off!

Rouge: Then we strike!

Y/n: And I'll finish it by cutting his legs off.

Knuckles: Right!

Cream: I'm scared, Mama.

Cheese: Chao.

Tails: I hope they know what they're doing, Chuck. I don't trust that Emerl.

Chuck: That robot's extremely clever.

Chris: Where do you think Emerl's running to Grandpa? Hey, I bet I know! He's leading Sonic straight to the sea!

The five made it to the beach where Emerl used Spindash to keep them from getting close and Rouge leaned against a rock while panting.

Rouge: Sorry, boys, I can't keep up with you.

The remaining three fought Emerl on a dock when the others caught up.

Chris: I bet Emerl led 'em to the sea because he knows Sonic doesn't like water and that it would be too dangerous for Y/n to use his lightning!

Emerl pushed Sonic to the edge of the dock.

Chris: Sonic, be careful!

Cream: Let's go, Cheese!

Cheese got on Cream's shoulder and she flapped her ears to fly and catch Sonic before he fell in the water.

Sonic: Thanks, Cream.

Cream: I know how much you hate to get wet.

Emerl nearly knocked Knuckles into the water, but Sonic and Cream caught him.

Emerl struck Y/n who blocked his strike and ran to the spot Cream landed. Emerl was about to go for another strike.

Cream: Emerl!

Emerl stopped in his tracks.

Cream: You just wrecked the city. And you attacked my mother, my brother and my friends. I want to help you, Emerl, but only if you promise not to hurt anybody else. Do you!?

Emerl's eyes turned blue for a second.

Cheese: Chao, chao!

Emerl sparked out. His eyes turned red again and he was about to hit Cream, but Y/n got in the way and got punched in ribs, getting a few broken.

Cream: Brother, why?

Y/n turned to her.

Y/n: I... (coughs blood) I didn't think it was right for you to take the hit that was meant for me.

Cream just stood there whimpering silently and Y/n looked at Emerl.

Y/n: Besides, it'll take a lot more than a few broken ribs to stop me.

Y/n tried to kick Emerl, but Emerl blocked it which left an opening for Cheese to strike him from the side. When Emerl tried to counter Cheese, Cream jumped in front of Emerl's sight and kicked him, knocking Emerl over.

Chris: Whoa! They're tough.

Knuckles: But how could they hurt Emerl?

Rouge: They're just a couple of squirts.

Chaos: A couple of squirts that could beat you in both terms of cuteness and physical strength.

Y/n: Cream, Cheese, what are you two doing?

Cream: Y/n, we know you care about our safety, but you're injured. We can't sit around and watch you fight him alone!

Cheese: Chao!

Cream: So please, let us fight with you!

Y/n looked at their serious and determined faces.

Y/n: Very well.

Cream and Cheese flew around Emerl and as he tried to watch them, Y/n kicked him in the air.

Chuck: Emerl can only copy the skills of one opponent at a time! If you work together, he'll be overwhelmed!

Knuckles: That might work!

He looked at Rouge.

Knuckles: What do you say!

Rouge: I'll try anything to knock off that knock-off.

Sonic: No!

Knuckles: Huh? Why not!? Rouge and I can take him easy if we attack him together.

Sonic: Yeah, I know. But I think we should let Y/n, Cream and Cheese handle this.

Spark: This will be a battle representing the true bond between a master and his student.

Vanilla: No, the bond between brother and sister.

Cream picked up Y/n and flew him into the air after Emerl.

Cream: Now, let's go!

Cheese: Chao, chao!

Y/n: One final strike. Let's do it together, Cream.

They stopped in front of Emerl.

Cream: (Thinking: Emerl, I wish I didn't have to do this.)

She started to remember all the good memories she had with Emerl, then she let go of Y/n who got into Spindash as well as Cream entered Spindash and together they smashed Emerl into the water. Cream caught Y/n and hugged him tightly with Cheese crying.

Cream: Don't cry, Cheese. We had to do it.

Y/n patted the back of her head.

Y/n: It's okay, Cream. If you want to cry, let it out.

The water in the area Emerl landed in exploded.

Cream: Goodbye, Emerl.

Y/n: On the one small bright side, you mastered Spindash. I'm so proud of you, my stu- No, my sister.

Cream looked up at him and smiled.

Cream: I love you, Y/n.

They both looked up at the rainbow that was caused by the rain caused by the explosion in the sea.
