In the city at night Knuckles was sitting on an old paint can and he saw a newspaper article about how Sonic stopped Eggman then he remembered his time guarding the Master Emerald.

Memory Knuckles: Looks like another peaceful day.

He saw a blue light.

Memory Knuckles: What was that?

He saw Y/n climbing up the steps that lead towards the Master Emerald.

Memory Knuckles: Hey, state your name and business!

Memory Y/n: I don't feel like telling you either. Now step aside and let me take the Master Emerald.

Memory Knuckles: I don't think so!

He tried to punch Y/n but Y/n blocked it with his shield and punched Knuckles in the gut.

Memory Knuckles: Gah!

He feel down in pain.

Memory Y/n: Too easy.

He touched the Emerald but his face became more disappointed.

Memory Y/n: It doesn't have the power I need!

He punched the ground a few times before Knuckles went up to him.

Memory Knuckles: Hey, stop doing that!

Memory Y/n: Keep your Emerald.

He started to walk away.

Memory Knuckles: Hey, wait!

Memory Y/n: I know, you want to get back at me for that punch.

Memory Knuckles: No, I just want to know why you needed the Master Emerald.

Memory Y/n: I was going to use it to restore my honor, but I don't think you can generate enough power for that.

Memory Knuckles: Well, I don't know about helping you with your honor, but if you ever need an ear I'll be here for you.

Knuckles extended his hand.

Memory Knuckles: I'm Knuckles by the way.

Y/n smiled.

Memory Y/n: Y/n. Friends?

They shook hands.

Memory Knuckles: Friends.

Back to reality.

From out of the shadows Eggman walked to Knuckles.

Knuckles: What do you want, Eggman?

Eggman bowed down to Knuckles.

Eggman: Please help me, Knuckles.

He grabbed Knuckles hands.

Eggman: If we don't do something fast, Sonic could make us prisoners on this plant forever, and that Y/n fellow threatened me with a blade it two times.

Knuckles: Yeah, that sounds like something he would do.

Eggman: If we can gather all seven of the Chaos Emeralds, there's a fighting chance we can somehow reverse the effect that sent us to this world and return to where we came from. Sonic knew he could use the Chaos Emeralds to warp himself through time and space. That's the reason he attacked Chaos Control. He found out that I'd collected all the Chaos Emeralds to keep them out of his grasp! You know how reckless Sonic is. I was afraid of what he might do if he got a hold of the Emeralds. So I set up defenses, but there was no stopping Sonic. He was determined to push his selfish search for thrills all the way this time, no matter who got hurt. Finally, Sonic invaded Chaos Control, and to my horror, he finally achieved his goal. Sonic destroyed Chaos Control and sent us all here just for the fun of it!

Knuckles: Sonic, he's crazy.

Eggman: I've changed my ways and want to live in peace, but Sonic won't let me. (cries) What can I do? He won't give either me or Y/n a chance to fix things. We both want to get us all back, the one I found one of the Chaos Emeralds, do you know what happened? Sonic snatched it from me and says he's going to stay here as long as he pleases.

Knuckles: That's selfish hog.

Eggman: he said that we can't leave here until he says so. He thinks this world's a lot more fun than ours, and that he'll keep the Emeralds away from Y/n to stop him from getting us back, and if we don't agree, it's our tough luck.

Knuckles grumbled.

Eggman: You think he'd be more concerned about his buddy.

Knuckles: Sonic isn't my buddy! Y/n is! I'm sick and tired of Sonic turning everything into a game. Either Sonic gives us that Emerald or I'm going to take it from him and give it to Y/n.

Eggman: Be careful. Sonic says he'll crush anybody who tries to get it back.

Knuckles: So then, a battle to the bitter end.

Eggman: (Thinking: My chronic Sonic troubles are over. Now I just need something for Y/n.)

At the Thorndyke garage.

Tails and Chris were looking at the Chaos Emerald.

Chris: A Chaos Emerald. Does anybody know where they come from or how they work?

Tails: Nobody knows much expect that they're real powerful.

Chuck: I hope my analysis reveals something about its makeup.

Banging was heard at the door that leads to Chuck's aboveground Workshop and a Mexican accented woman was heard.

Mexican Women: I know you're in there. You haven't let me clean your room in so long. I'm issuing a dirt alert.

Chris: Oh, no, it's Ella! Quick, Tails, hide.

Tails looked around but when Ella who was an overweight Mexican woman with blue eyes, brown short hair, while wearing an apron over a light blue dress and she had a vacuum cleaner and Tails acted like a doll.

Ella: I thought I'd find you up here, Christopher.

Chris: Oh, hi there, Ella.

Ella: Keeping this room dust free is a losing battle. Not that I'm complaining, but it's like trying to vacuum a dirt road. I...

She noticed Tails.

Ella: Ah!

Chris: Uh...

Ella crouched down to Tails height.

Ella: He's so precious. Is this your toy?

Chris: Uh, I'm taking care of it.

Ella: Aah, it almost looks real to me.

Little did Ella know Y/n was peeking through the door but only Chris and Chuck saw this. Y/n made hand signs that mean "Should I take her out" but Chris rapidly shook his head no and he quickly grabbed Tails.

Chris: I... Think I'll go outside and play.

Chuck: (chuckles nervously) Uh, me too.

The three of them quickly got out of there.

Chris: Wow, Tails, that was a close call.

Chuck: We sure fooled her.

Chris: Yeah.

Sonic was laying on the balcony of Chris's house.

Sonic: Can't I nap in peace?

Y/n jumped onto the balcony with him.

Y/n: Can't you be anything besides lazy?

Sonic: Where did you go off to?

Y/n: I saw that woman going towards Chuck's Workshop where Tails could've been discovered, so I went after her trying to take her out before she ratted us out.

Sonic: Is that so?

The three were running until Chris ran into a man with glasses and dress like a butler.

Butler: Master Chris, what, may I ask, is going on?

Y/n: (Whispered: Great, do I need to kill this guy now?)

Sonic: (Whispered: Just wait.)

Chris: Um, we're, uh, just playing capture the stuffed animal. (Laughs nervously) Bye.

Chris walked away and Check was about to go after him.

Chuck: I think I'll...

Butler: Sir.

Chuck: Huh.

Butler: While I commend your desire to stay fit, I would stick to adult sports like bowling.

Chuck: You can't tell me what to do. I'll play Ring Around the Rosie if I...

The butler got right up in Chuck's face.

Butler: Perhaps you should slow down. Rest is important, and I believe it's time for your nap.

The butler started pushing Chuck.

Chuck: I don't need a nap.

Butler: You can play later.

Chuck: I have work to do.

Butler: Come along, Mr. Thorndyke.

Chuck: Forget it.

Butler: Off to bed.

Chuck: Take your hands off me.

Amy ran into Chris and Tails.

Amy: Ow.

Chris: Uh... Amy! You know it's dangerous to go wandering around here by yourself.

Amy: I just saw a news report. It looks like they found another Chaos Emerald.

They went inside and watched the news report.

TV News Reporter: The strange energy spikes which seem to be coming from the Silver Valley area have played havoc with computers and machinery across the entire region. The investigators are looking into...

Tails: I bet it's a Chaos Emerald.

Chris: You know, Silver Valley isn't very far from here. Let's check it out.

When they came outside Y/n jumped down from the balcony.

Amy: Sonic, I haven't seen you all day!

Amy ran to Y/n with her arms open wide, but before she could hug him he punched her jaw.

Y/n: I'm Y/n, not Sonic.

Amy: Right, sorry, but next time instead of punching me tell me normally!

Chris: Hey, Y/n, we're going to go check out Silver Valley.

Y/n: Yeah, I heard the news.

Chris: Then would you like to come with us?

Y/n: I'm afraid I'm going to be a little busy.

Tails: Doing what?

Y/n: Well, someone needs to stick around and watch a certain rabbit.

Chris: You mean Cream?

Y/n: Exactly. I got to make sure she doesn't get us caught.

Amy: You should place a little more trust in Cream.

Y/n: Just like we should get you, the overly obsessed Sonic fan girl, a stripped jacket.

Amy got really angry.

Amy: That's it!

She tried to hit him with her hammer but Y/n blocked it with his shield.

Y/n: Way to prove my point.

They broke apart.

Y/n: Now, if you'll excuse me I need to go look after a rabbit, and good luck finding a way to get to Silver Valley.

He jumped back on the balcony.

Y/n: Oh, and Sonic isn't interested in coming either.

He walked inside.

Amy: Fine. Come on! We'll have more fun without them anyhow.

Chris: But Y/n's right. How can we get to Silver Valley without a car? My grandpa's resting, and I can't ask Mr. Tanaka to drive.

Tails: If I drive, I'm gonna get spotted.

Chris: What can we do?

Tails: Hey, I know how we'll get there!

They all ran off and Y/n was in the house with Cream and Cheese.

Cream: So, you decided to look after us instead of go with them.

Y/n: Yeah, someone has to keep you two in line.

Cheese: Chao, chao.

Y/n: Now, how about you tell me how you got this Chao.

Cream: I found him at a Chao Garden.

Y/n: The book I read about Chaos never said anything about Chao Gardens.

Cream: You have a book on Chaos?

Y/n: Yes. I'd show you, but I think I left it back on our world.

Cream: Not that it's bad, but why are you being so nice to me?

Y/n: Because, I've come to the realization that I'm stuck with you until Robotnik is dealt with, so I as well try to get along with you all.

Cream: But you weren't really nice to Amy.

Y/n: She deserved it. Plus, I'm pretty sure I would get along with you better.

Cream: Well, can we watch cartoons?

Y/n: Um, sure. What do I care.

Y/n turn the TV on and the cartoons started playing.

Cream: Yay. Thank you, Y/n.

Cheese: Chao.

Y/n: Thank me by handing me a book over there.

Cream: Okay.

She got him a book off the shelf and gave it to him.

Cream: Here.

Y/n: Excellent job.

After a few minutes a small explosion was heard outside.

Cream: What was that?

Y/n: Stay here, I'll go check it out.

He went outside and saw Sonic with some cinder on him.

Y/n: What happened to you?

Sonic: This annoying little robot gave me a message that was set to explode after it was played.

Y/n: Well, let's say care, what did the message say?

Sonic: Your buddy Knuckles just challenged me to a fight.

Y/n: Well, good luck with that.

Sonic: I won't need luck, I got speed.

Y/n smacked him in the head.

Sonic: Ow!

Y/n: Just go.

Sonic ran off and Y/n went back inside.

Cream: What happened?

Y/n: Sonic said something about an exploding message.

Cream: Oh.

Timeskip.

At Silver Valley.

Knuckles was sitting on the edge of a cliff.

Knuckles: (Thinking: Where's Sonic? He should've been here by now.)

Sonic then appeared.

Sonic: Hey there, Knuckles.

Knuckles: You're late, slow poke.

Sonic: Yeah, well, I stopped to enjoy the scenery. This planet is pretty cool. (sniffs a flower)  It's nice here. Yeah, you'd like this world, too, if you weren't such a party pooper along with your pal, Y/n.

Knuckles: Enough talk. Let's go.

Sonic: Ah, relax, will ya? We have all afternoon to duke it out, buddy-boy.

Knuckles: I'm not your buddy, and don't forget it, smart aleck. Now, put 'em up! I didn't come here to sniff the flowers!

Sonic: That's your loss, and Y/n's for not even coming here at all. Neither of you know what you're missing.

Knuckles: Stop talking about Y/n! Give me the emerald you stole, or else...

Sonic: Oh. Your brain's even slower than your feet.

Knuckles growled. Then Knuckles ran at Sonic trying to throw a punch, but Sonic dodged it, then Knuckles through multiple punches trying to hit Sonic, but every last one of them missed and one even broke a boulder. Sonic then tried to kick Knuckles but Knuckles dodged and threw more punches, but they him.

Meanwhile.

Back with Y/n, Cream, and Cheese.

Cream: So, Sonic and Knuckles are fighting?

Y/n: Correct.

Cream: Then why aren't you there helping them?!

Y/n: Because, what they do is not my problem.

Cream: But what if they get hurt!?

Y/n: Let them, they might learn something.

Cream: Just please go there and help them.

Y/n: What about you and Cheese?

Cream: We'll be fine.

Cheese: Chao, chao.

Y/n thought for a moment until he signed.

Y/n: Okay, but if you think anybody that isn't me is going to come in hide. Okay?

Cream: Okay.

Cheese: Chao.

Y/n nodded and ran off.

Timeskip.

Amy, Chris, and Tails were inside a damaged robot.

Amy: Hey, get us down from here.

Eggman: Look what you've done. You've wrecked my robot, and isn't even insured.

Suddenly, Sonic zoomed by and took out both the robot's legs and it fell down.

Sonic: Hey, what's up?

Chris: Thanks, Sonic.

Y/n: Hey!

They all turned and saw Y/n running towards them.

Tails: Y/n? I thought you we're looking after Cream.

Y/n: She said she would be fine by herself, so I came here to help you guys, but I guess you didn't need it after all.

Amy: Dank right we didn't need help from a jerk like you.

Eggman: This isn't over. My robot may be down, but it certainly isn't out.

The robot's arms turned into his legs and as it flipped upside down it also got lasers.

Eggman: Attack!

The robot fired lasers at them, but Sonic dodged while Y/n blocked them with his shield.

Eggman: How can that tiny shield withstand my lasers?

Y/n: My Father made these two bracelets what the strongest material he could find.

Eggman: Father?

Suddenly, Knuckles kicked one of the laser guns and destroyed it.

Eggman: Ooh.

Y/n: Hey, Knuckles.

Knuckles: Oh, hey, Y/n. Listen here, Eggman! This is a battle between Sonic and me! I'll fight my way.

Eggman: Fight your way? If you're going to insist on fighting a clean fight, then I'm going to start playing dirty.

The robot jumped and landed on the other side of the lake.

Eggman: Plan A didn't work, so now we'll have to go to plan B. Bring me that Chaos Emerald, or you'll never see your friends again.

Y/n: You really think we'd give it to some coward with absolutely no honor?

Knuckles: What is this? Eggman swore to me that all you wanted was to live in peace.

Y/n: And you believed him!?

Sonic: He's sure tricky, isn't he?

Knuckles: That swindler, he lied.

Sonic: You're catching on, pal.

Y/n: Shut up and help me get those idiots!

Eggman: We all know your weak spot is water, Sonic, so I stuck your friends over there where you can't save them without treading H2O.

Sonic: Yeah, that's what you think.

Y/n: Because there are two ways he can get around that.

Eggman: Elaborate.

Y/n: One way is that he could go around the lake.

Sonic started running around the lake.

Y/n: Like what Sonic is doing right now.

Eggman: And the other way?

Y/n: Run on the water.

Knuckles: What?

Y/n start to run on the water and quickly got to the robot and took out a leg before Sonic did

Sonic: How did you get here so fast?

Y/n: Everyone knows that the quickest way between any two spots is a straight line.

Eggman: Show offs.

Sonic and Y/n got the three of them out.

Sonic: You all right?

Chris: I'm okay.

Amy hugged Sonic really tight while crying.

Sonic: Take it easy, Amy.

Amy: I just knew that you'd come here to save me.

Y/n: Pathetic.

Amy: What?!

Y/n: There was a huge hole in that robot that you could have crawled out of.

Amy: Uh, I was frozen in fear.

Y/n: Even more pathetic.

The robot then got up.

Eggman: I'm not calling it quits yet, Sonic and Y/n. You both only had a preview of this robot's fire power. You and your friends are through.

Y/n: That's what you think.

Missiles and lasers started firing out of the robot at the same time.

Eggman: I've got you now.

Y/n blocked the lasers with his shield and it cut the missiles in half with his blade and that's when Knuckles showed up.

Knuckles: Mind if I join you, Y/n?

Y/n: Go right ahead.

Y/n and Knuckles ran at the robot and while Y/n slashed it Knuckles punched it and they let up to Eggman.

Eggman: You.

Y/n/Knuckles: You liar/bastard!

Knuckles punched the egg carrier while Y/n slashed at it and just like that Eggman was gone.

Y/n: What do you say we smash this robot together?

Knuckles: That's a plan I can work with.

Y/n got into a Spindash while Knuckles got his fist ready and they both smashed down on the robot and it created a huge explosion that nearly blew the two of them away, but Sonic grabbed Knuckles hand and Knuckles took Y/n's so neither them got blown away after that they land safely on the ground and Knuckles smiled.

Y/n: I guess I'll be seeing you, Knuckles.

Knuckles: Yeah.

Amy: Sonic!

Everyone ran towards them.

Chris: You three made it.

Sonic: (got hugged by Amy) Ugh. Yeah, Knuckles, Y/n, and I had it all under control.

Knuckles walked off.

Chris: Huh? Knuckles.

Y/n: Just let him go.

Amy: Okay. After all, I know that on the inside Knuckles wants to thank Sonic and apologize to him, but doesn't know how.

Sonic: You know, Y/n, you really surprised me today.

Y/n: What do you mean?

Sonic: First you babysit Cream without anybody having to ask you, and now you just came here and helped us.

Amy: Yeah, it's shocking because you're usually a big, unlikable, boring jerk with no friends and...

Y/n's shadow loomed over her.

Y/n: Come over here, Amy, and I'll show you something really unlikable.

Amy: Uh-oh.

Punching sounds were heard.

Amy: Ow, my ribs! (punched again) Ow, my other rips!
