Y/n, Sonic and Amy were in a ranch where Eggman was with a gaint robot chicken. The chicken ran at them and shot a light out of its mouth that was just a distraction so it could fly off with Amy.

Sonic: Whoa.

Amy: Sonic!

Sonic: Bring her back!

Y/n: Or don't, doesn't matter to me.

Eggman: That's cold, even by my standards, Y/n. If you want her, come save her.

Amy started hitting the robot chicken with her hammer until he dress started to rip.

Amy: Help! Hey, that's a brand new dress, buddy.

Y/n: What do you mean "brand new?" That's the same dress you wear everyday.

Amy: It's still my dress, jerk face!

Sonic: Amy, you just hang on tight!

Y/n: Or fall to your death, still doesn't matter to me.

Sonic: Y/n!

Y/n: Fine. I'll help you save the yandere.

Tails flew in with the X Tornado.

Tails: Sonic, here comes the ring.

Y/n: You destroy that robot and I'll deal with Robotnik.

Sonic: Okay.

The ring went to Sonic and he caught.

Sonic: Got it.

The ring flashed and Sonic Spin Dashed up the barn tower and hit the robot chicken but something went into his ear. Then Y/n hit Eggman away and Sonic held on to Amy as all three of them were falling.

Sonic: Don't worry, Amy, I gotcha.

Amy: You're my hero.

They continued falling until they landed in a soft pile of hay and they layed in it for a bit.

Amy: Isn't this just beautiful? I wish we could stay here for days and just listen to the wind. (blushing) Oh, wouldn't that be... romantic?

She looked at Sonic digging in his ear.

Amy: Have you been listening?

Sonic: Say what?

He began to tap his head to get out whatever was in his ear but he had no luck.

Amy: (pouting) Oh! You men! (humph).

Y/n: Hey, keep it down. I'm trying to enjoy the breeze.

Sonic: Huh, what's wrong?

Later.

All of them went back to the Thorndyke residence and Sonic was still struggling to get whatever was in his ear out and Amy was still getting mad.

Amy: Oh! You're impossible! You never hear a thing I say!

Chris, Tails and Y/n went outside to see what all the shouting was about.

Chris: Hey, Amy, what's all the shouting about?

Y/n: Yeah, there are people here that are just trying to enjoy their evening.

Amy: Your friend Sonic's acting weirder than ever.

Tails: Huh? What do you mean, he's acting weird?

Amy: He's off in his own little world.

Tails: Huh? That's not weird, Amy, that's Sonic.

Amy: He's worse than ever. He hasn't listened to a single word I've said all day.

Chris: Well, maybe he's got something on his mind.

Y/n: Or something in his ear, he does keep digging in there.

Amy: I should have known you wouldn't understand.

Y/n: Understand what? The fact that Sonic will never love you so make up these delusions to help you cope with that? I think we understand just fine.

Amy: What did you say to me?!

Tails: Y/n, don't.

Y/n: Just understand now that the reason no one likes you and never will is because you don't even apply anything to this team. Pretty much all you do in any of our missions is just wait for Sonic to show up so you can fangirl over him. But you try, you do try. And you know what? Good on you for trying, but if your efforts don't resolve in results, you just mean absolutely nothing to anybody.

Amy just stared at Y/n blankly and then she started screaming like a psycho and ran at Y/n with her hammer and started whaling on Y/n's shield.

Amy: You have no right to speak to me like that! You have no idea what it's like to love someone or even be loved yourself! So don't you dare forget it!

Y/n eye twitched and he kicked Amy in the air three times then he jumped and kicked her down and she landed hard on the concrete. Y/n walked over to her and stood on her chest.

Y/n: I was loved before and I am loved now, so don't you ever forget that.

Chris: Y/n, get off of her!

Y/n took his foot off Amy's chest and Sonic suddenly started to groan and he ran off without a word.

Chris: He does seem stressed.

Amy: (getting up in pain) He thinks he's stressed? Try being me.

Chris: That'd be horrible.

Amy: What did you say?

Y/n: He said it'd be horrible to be you, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same.

Amy: If I wasn't in so much pain, I'd clobber you with my hammer.

Chris: The only way to find out what's really going on with Sonic is to follow him in the X Tornado.

Tails: Hmm.

Y/n: You go in the X Tornado, I'll follow him on foot.

Y/n ran in the same direction as Sonic.

Meanwhile.

Sonic was running through Station Square.

Sonic: I don't get it! I can't stop my feet!

Y/n finally caught up to Sonic.

Y/n: Hey, Sonic, me and everyone were wondering if there's any-

Sonic: Look out!

Y/n and Sonic avoid cars from hitting them.

Sonic: Ha-ha, sorry.

Sam pulled someone over.

Sam: Listen, punk, you're car may be cool, but if you don't wear seat-belts, you're a fool.

He saw Sonic and Y/n zoom by.

Sam: Huh? That was Sonic and Y/n! Thanks to them you're not gonna get a ticket today.

He pushed the man aside.

Sam: Now go get a haircut.

Sam got in his car.

Sam: I got you both now, Sonic and Y/n.

He drove after the hedgehogs.

Sam: This is S-team leader to base. In hot pursuit of high-speed hedgehogs going south on Broad Street, over.

Sonic: I can't stop!

Y/n: What do you mean, you can't stop?

Sonic: I just can't.

The X Tornado finally showed up.

Chris: There's Uncle Sam.

Tails: Looks like he's trying to catch up with Y/n and Sonic.

Chris: I'm gonna radio him.

Chris got on the radio.

Chris: Hey, Uncle Sam, this is Chris.

Sam: When you're on this frequency, it's "S-Team Leader," got it? Besides, I can't chit-chat right now. I'm on a mission.

Chris: Sorry, but I need to talk to you about Sonic.

Sam: If you're calling to ask me to take it easy on him and Y/n, forget it.

Chris: But he's acting really strange today, and Y/n's just trying to figure out what it is that's making him act like this. We're worried that there might be something really wrong with him.

Sam: There must be if he thinks he can beat me.

Sam laughed and sped up a little.

Chris: He acts weirder than Sonic.

Sam got near Sonic and Y/n.

Sam: I got them now.

Sonic also started to speed up.

Sonic: What's going on?

Sam: All right.

Y/n: Look, Sam. We don't have time to play right now.

Y/n ran ahead.

Sam: Oh, yeah?

Sam hit the gas but he saw his car was out of gas.

Sam: Huh? Out of gas.

Sam stopped in the middle of the road.

Sam: Those little hedgehogs may have have out run me this time, but there's always next time. I'll get them.

Sonic kept on running and Y/n was still behind him and they eventually ran to a train station.

Sonic: I hope there's light at the end of this thing.

Y/n: When we get out of here, let's go to the desert, there's less trouble for you to make there.

Sonic: Right.

They eventually found their way out of the station.

Chris: There they are.

Tails: They're heading for the desert.

Amy: I wonder why they're going there.

Tails: Let's see, if I know Y/n, he'd probably take Sonic there so he can't cause any trouble.

They continued to run towards the desert and after a little bit, Sonic was still running while Y/n had stopped and leaned against a rock wall with his arms crossed.

Amy: Still running.

Sonic continued to run until he sped up.

Y/n: (sighs) Just when I thought I could take a breather.

He started to run after Sonic.

Amy: Now he's speeding up again. But why?

Amy thought back to the robot chicken attack.

Amy: Maybe something happened to Sonic when he was battling that robot. That could be why he's acting this way.

Chris: What could it be?

Amy: I don't know.

Chris got on the radio again.

Chris: Y/n, have you figured out what's making Sonic act like this yet?

Y/n: (Over radio: No, but I'm sure it has to be the thing in his ear. Sonic told me that no matter how hard he tries he can't stop running.)

Chris: Let's go talk to my grandpa. He might be able to figure out what's wrong.

Amy: I hope so, because if something's wrong with Sonic, it's because he saved me. Maybe Y/n's right and I am just dead weight most of the time.

Chris: Don't be so hard on yourself, Amy.

Amy: Please be okay, Sonic.

The X Tornado flew away.

Y/n: Look, Sonic. We're gonna see if Chuck can help us and we'll come back for you later.

Sonic nodded and Y/n fell back.

Later.

Chris and everyone else except Sonic were in Chuck's secret lab.

Chris: He doesn't stop, Grandpa. He just keeps on running.

Y/n: I think it's because of something in his ear, but I can't be certain.

Amy: We just have to figure out what's wrong with him.

Chuck: The only way to do that is to examine him, but first we have to catch him. And that's not going to be easy.

Y/n: You're right, it won't. Which is why I propose we break his legs so he can't run anymore.

Chuck: Okay, let's take a less violent approach first.

Y/n: Well, I'm all ears if you got anything better.

Chuck: I think I may know a way.

Later that night.

Y/n, Tails and Chuck were working hard on something and Amy was standing on the balcony looking at the full moon.

Amy: What's wrong, Sonic? Where are you?

Meanwhile.

Sonic was still running.

Sonic: Almost there, almost there. Where am I going, anyway?

The sun was beginning to rise and everyone was in the desert where Sonic was running.

Chuck: With the help of Tails and Y/n, I have devised a plan that I believe will work. It's actually quite simple. Step one, we locate Sonic on the X Tornado. Step two, we launch a specially-designed bubble bomb which will hold him securely and lift him off the ground. And once Sonic is off his feet, we can discover what's been causing him to run amok.

Everyone except Y/n: Yeah!

Tails and Amy were in the X Tornado as it flew above Sonic.

Sonic: I've got company!

Amy: Target spotted, Chuck.

Chuck: (On radio: Roger, stay alert. Don't let him out of your sight.)

Amy: I'll stay on him.

Meanwhile.

Chuck, Chris, Y/n, Ella, Mr. Tanaka, Cream and Cheese stayed behind at the tent.

Chuck: Get ready.

Amy was holding the bubble bomb gun.

Chuck: (On radio: Fire!)

Amy shot the bomb and it hit Sonic.

Sonic: Yow!

The bubble started to blow up and Sonic was off the ground.

Amy: It really worked.

Sonic: Whoa. Whoa! Look, guys! I'm flying.

The kept getting bigger and Sonic kept getting higher.

Sonic: Hey, get me down! I'm floating away!

Chuck: Perhaps, I used too much helium.

Y/n: I knew this idea would fail from the start.

Sonic eventually floated away to some sort of lake.

Sonic: Help me! Somebody get this thing off of me.

Knuckles was near that lake.

Knuckles: What now?

Sonic: Hey, Knuckles! Help me, help me!

Knuckles picked up a pebble and threw it at Sonic's bubble which caused it to pop and when Sonic hit the lake he started running again which got a fish in Knuckles arms.

Knuckles: Huh? What the-? Huh?

Y/n ran up to him.

Y/n: Hey, Knuckles. Have you seen Sonic floating around here by chance?

Knuckles: He was, then I popped his bubble and he went that way, but do you know what's wrong with him?

Y/n: (sighs) Where do I even begin?

Meanwhile.

Mr. Tanaka: Now what do we do?

Chris: Do you think he'll come back?

Tails: Well, we did sent Y/n to go get him.

Cream: I'm worried.

Amy: It's all my fault.

Chuck: Just too much helium.

Y/n and Knuckles walked over to them.

Knuckles: Well, Sonic, just tried to run me over.

Amy: Great! Did you stop him?

Knuckles: He missed me.

Y/n: And I unfortunately couldn't get there in time.

Amy: Well, (got out her hammer) I'm not gonna miss either of ya and it will be on time.

Knuckles: What's the big deal? All I did was step aside and Y/n had a difficult time seeing him.

Cream: It isn't their fault, Amy.

Cheese: Chao.

Ella: Cheese is right. I bet you'll come up with a new way to help Sonic after you have a nice hot lunch.

Everyone sat down and had stew and bread.

Amy: I bet poor Sonic must be starving by now.

Chuck: I'm sure he's fine, Amy.

Suddenly, Tails got caught in a tumbleweed.

Cream: That game looks like a lot of fun, Tails.

Cheese: Chao, chao!

Y/n: He's not playing a game, he got caught in a tumbleweed.

He ran and caught Tails's tumbleweed then he cut Tails free with his bracelet blades.

Tails: Thanks, Y/n.

Chuck: That's it!

Chuck started to go over the plan.

Chuck: Knuckles will wait at the top of the hill with a specially engineered wheel trap. As Sonic approaches, we'll give the signal, and Knuckles will roll the wheel down the hill, trapping Sonic inside. He'll be like a hamster in a cage.

Everyone except Y/n and Knuckles: Yeah!

Y/n: We can only hope it will work just as great as your last plan.

Chuck: Come on, that was a mistake. This time, my plan is certainly going to work.

Sonic was still running and he saw a red arrow and followed it and did the same when he saw another one. He continued running and Chuck saw he was almost in position.

Chuck: All right, Tanaka, he's almost in position.

Mr. Tanaka: Right.

Sonic was still going until...

Chuck: Roll it!

Mr. Tanaka started to wave flags at Knuckles which was the signal for him to roll the wheel at Sonic, when he did the wheel got Sonic and Chuck pressed a remote which turned the wheel into a hamster wheel.

Chris: Ha-ha! Hey, Grandpa, it works.

Chuck: Of course, it does.

A tray with a hotdog and cup of water came out of a slot in the wheel.

Amy: I thought you might be hungry after all this running.

Sonic smiled and took a bite out of the hotdog.

Sonic: Pretty tasty.

After a few minutes Sonic was still running in the wheel and eventually yawned and started to drift off to sleep.

Amy: He looks like he's falling asleep.

Chuck: That's good. If he falls asleep, he'll have to stop running.

Y/n: I wouldn't bet on it, he ran a full night straight after all.

Amy: Maybe I can help, Sonic. Want me to read you a bedtime story?

Sonic: (sleepy) No, thank you, Amy.

Sonic did eventually did go to sleep but he was still running.

Chris: Looks like Sonic's nap isn't slowing him down at all. He's going even faster.

Chuck: I've never seen anything like it. His energy must be positively boundless.

Ella: Sonic has more power than my food processor.

Sonic slowly began to speed up.

Chuck: Sonic, that wheel wasn't built to withstand this intensity.

The wheel was about to break.

Tails: Knuckles, look out!

The wheel finally broke and ran Knuckles over then in fell sideways and its speed caused it to dig under ground. As the others looked into the hole they saw something.

Chuck: Run!

They all ran out of the way and Sonic blasted out of the the hole on top of some water shooting out of it.

Chuck: Well, that was a washout.

Y/n: No kidding.

Later at dusk.

Amy: So far your plans haven't worked, have they?

Chuck: Not quite, but I'm confident that if we just keep trying, we'll eventually come up with a plan that will work.

Knuckles was grunting as healing ointment was being rubbed on him by Ella.

Y/n: I still think you should let me just brake his legs.

Tails: And we still think that we can solve this with a less violent method.

Chuck: Hmm. I've got it! In fact, it's the best plan I've had all day. We just need a little help from a friend. Mm-hmm!

The next day.

The team has met at the same spot as yesterday.

Chuck: Right on time!

Sam's rocket car drove over to them and got out.

Sam: I would've been here sooner, but I stopped for doughnuts.

Y/n: If you didn't choke on them then don't bother telling me.

Chuck: Don't mind him. I appreciate you coming to help us out, Sam.

Sam: You can always count on the Speed King to put the rubber to the road when a friend needs help.

Chuck: Well, then, let me bring you up to date on our plan. Now, we all know Sonic has quite a competitive streak, just like you do, Sam.

Sam: It's Speed King, Chuck.

Chuck: Sorry. Speed King. The plan is to have Speed King challenge Sonic to a test of speed. But unbeknownst to Sonic, a trap will be set at the end of the finish line. Speed King well get on Sonic's right side in lane two. Sonic will be forced to race in lane one beside him, and that will lead him straight into our trap. Then Sonic will be out of the running. Now, let's get ready for the race, shall we?

Everyone except Y/n and Knuckles: Yeah!

Y/n: This feels oddly familiar.

Sonic was running and the X Tornado was trailing behind him with Amy and Tails in it.

Amy: Stand-by. He's almost there.

Sam: Roger, I'm ready.

Sam checked his mirror and saw Sonic closing in on him.

Amy: Go!

Sam started driving and Sonic quickly caught up but he soon nearly tripped on a rock.

Sam: What's the matter, slowpoke? Can't you do better than that?

Sonic tried to get ahead of Sam but Sam kept getting in front of him Y/n was watching the race from a cliff near there.

Y/n: I knew we couldn't rely on that idiot. Looks like I'll have to prepare for my backup plan.

Y/n ran ahead.

Amy: What are you doing? This isn't a real race! You're supposed to be a decoy.

Sam: (Over radio: Guess again, sweetheart. He beat me once, it's not gonna happen twice.)

Sonic: Oh, yeah.

They both started running neck and neck again.

Chuck: They're getting close to the finish.

Amy: (Over radio: Remember, Speed King, whatever you do keep Sonic in the right lane.)

Sam: (Over radio: Right lane? I thought I'm in the right lane.)

Amy: That's right just stay in lane two.

In Sam's car.

Amy: (Over radio: Remember you're number two, number two.)

Sam: Not me, sister. I'm number one.

Sam drove into the number one slot and got caught in the glue trap they set up for Sonic and Sonic zoomed past Sam.

Amy: That didn't work out too well.

Chuck: For Sonic mostly.

Chris: What do you mean, Grandpa?

Chuck: Well, I told Y/n that if this plan failed I'd let him do his plan.

Chris: You did what?!

With Y/n.

Y/n: All right, time to break a couple of legs.

Y/n was getting ready for Sonic but he heard Tails voice from his right bracelet.

Tails: (On bracelet: Y/n, wait, I'm picking up something weird on my scopes. Chuck, do you see it down there too?

Chuck: (On bracelet: Yes, I've noticed it myself, Tails.)

Y/n: Well, what is it?

Tails: (On bracelet: I recorded the wave patterns. Maybe you and Chuck can analyze it and figure it out what it is.)

Y/n: I'll be at the spot with Chuck in 30 seconds.

He ran to Chuck and they both started analyzing the patterns.

Chuck: From what we can gather, it's some kind of strange magnetic force field. It appears to to be emanating from that ranch up ahead.

Y/n: The same ranch where me and Sonic were fighting that robot chicken.

Later.

The X Tornado flew over the ranch.

Amy: Ready up there, Tails?

Tails: I'm ready when you are.

Amy saw the robot chicken.

Amy: Okay, Tails. Keep it as steady as you can.

Amy got on the X Tornado's wing with her hammer and tried to hit the robot chicken but it flew up and fired a lightning net at Amy that caused one of its legs to fall off and it started falling and that's when Sonic and Y/n came in.

Sonic: Amy!

Sonic hit the robot chicken which caused the chip in his ear to fly out, then Y/n completely destroyed the robot chicken with Spin Dash. When Sonic crashed into a haystack Amy jumped after him.

Amy: Sonic!

She landed in the haystack with Sonic.

Amy: Sonic, I was so worried.

Sonic started digging in his ear.

Amy: Now what's the matter?

Sonic: Something's in my ear again.

Amy: Oh!

Y/n: Should I knock it out of you?

Amy: No need.

Amy blew in Sonic's ear and that got the hay that was stuck in it.

Sonic: Yeah, that feels much better, thanks.

Amy: See, I contribute to this team.

Y/n: Oh sure, blowing in someone's ear is way harder than the stuff I do.

Sonic: What did I miss while I was running?
