Chris and Tails are alone on the bridge. Chris stretches.

"Hey Tails, don't you think it's time we took a break?"

"Well... there seems to be a problem with the security system and I wanna find out why. But you can go."

"Don't you want help?"

"Nah, I can handle it myself. Hopefully we'll all have plenty of time to rest up. Since there aren't any Metarex around, things should stay pretty quiet."

"I sure hope you're right, Tails."

"Me too."

Chris yawns, stretches, and heads to his room, unaware of a dark figure zipping by behind him. When Chris is out of sight, the figure eyes one of the doors. He first went to Y/N's room where Y/N is sleeping. He opens the door and walks over to her. Y/N could have swore that she felt a gloved hand stroking her cheek. The shadow unmistakably belongs to Shadow the Hedgehog. He stares down at her with a soft look with a hint of affection. Shadow then left her room to let her sleep as he had a mission to do. Starting with Cosmo as he went inside her room.

Back to the bridge

"Okay, that should work. Now I'll restart the system."

Tails presses a button. Suddenly an alarm goes off, bathing the ship in a red glow and startling Chris at his desk, and rousing Amy and Cream, and waking Y/N as she quickly sat up from her bed, and getting the attention of Sonic and Knuckles.

"Red alert! Red alert! We have an intruder on board the ship!" Tails exclaimed over the intercom.

In Cosmo's room, Cosmo awakens to see Shadow standing over her. The red glow stops. 

"Die."

Cosmo stares in shock and terror. Chris appears in the doorway and turns the light on.

"Cosmo!"

He is shocked to see Shadow there.

"Shadow?"

Shadow throws a Chaos Spear at Chris, but Sonic immediately arrives and tackles him out of the way. Shadow continues to proceed toward Cosmo, but the battered Sonic stops him.

"Hold it, Shadow! ... You mind tellin' me what this is all about?"

Shadow bears down on Sonic. They clash in the hall. Neither are able to get the upper hand in the grudge match. Tails runs in.

"Sonic!"

"Hurry! Grab Cosmo and run!"

Sonic leaps back, then runs toward Shadow, but the Ultimate Lifeform rebounds across the ceiling and into Sonic from behind, sending him rocketing down the hall. Cosmo approaches the doorway, fear in her eyes.

"Cosmo, what happened?"

"I woke up... Shadow was there... He's trying to kill me..."

Shadow emerges from the smoke. Tails types in a lockdown code and runs down the hall with Cosmo. A door shuts between him and Shadow. Unfortunately, it is no obstacle for him, and he easily breaks it down and walks after the fleeing pair. Chris and Sonic are left injured on the floor.

Knuckles is running down the hall.

"What's going on? Someone, answer me!" he called over the intercom.

"There's big trouble! Sonic and Chris got hurt in a fight with Shadow!!"

Cream, Cheese, and Amy are in the infirmary. Amy is watching over Sonic, Cheese over Chris, and Cream is speaking to Knuckles.

"They'll be okay, but it'll take some time for them to recover."

"Why were they fighting?"

"We don't know, but... For some reason, Shadow was trying to attack Cosmo!"

"So he's our enemy?"

Amy cuts in front of Cream.

"Don't even think about going after Shadow right now! Find Tails and Cosmo and makle sure they're safe! That's an order! And find Y/N! I think she's going after Shadow!"

"I know what I'm doing! Nobody'll be safe on this ship 'til we stop Shadow!"

In the corridors, Shadow breaks down another door. He scans the halls before pulling out his cellular device.

"Accessing ship's internal sensors. Two heat signals detected. Stand by for visual."

He sees the heat signature of Tails as he works on a computer in another hall. Cosmo is with him.

"What are you doing, Tails?" Cosmo asked.

"If Shadow has access to our computer, he could use the internal sensors to track us. I have to block him from accessing the data."

With one button, Tails shuts down the heat source search.

"That should do it."

Shadow's screen goes black.

"I think it worked."

Shadow tries another option on his device.

"Bypass code Six-Delta-Three."

The surveillance camera turn on Tails and Cosmo.

"No way! He got through!"

Shadow skates down the hall as Tails and Cosmo break into a run. The security doors close behind them.

"Hurry, Cosmo!"

His grip on Cosmo's hand tightens. Shadow is surprised to see that the surveillance screens are empty. No one is to be seen. Suddenly Knuckles punches through the wall.

"Shadow, pick on somebody your own size!"

Shadow smirks.

Shadow rains Chaos Spears at Knuckles as the echidna runs toward him. Knuckles tries to land a punch on Shadow, but he teleports behind him and Chaos Spears a pipe, creating a mist that blinds Knuckles. This is Shadow's opportunity to escape.

"Come back here!"

There is another figure behind him. Knuckles is shocked to see that is Rouge.

"Are all redheads as temperamental as you?" she teased.

Tails and Cosmo creep toward the X-Tornado. They climb the ladder.

"You'll be safe once we get away on the X-Tornado."

Tails types his identity into the touchscreen.

"Prepare for takeoff! Hold on, Cosmo!"

The catapult system is engaged.

"Everything will be okay."

Suddenly an explosion ensues in front of them. Shadow emerges from the smoke.

"Hand that girl over now. I don't want to fight you, Tails, but I will if I have to."

"Cosmo never did anything to harm you! Why are you after her anyway?"

"I'm not going to tell you. Get out of my way or die."

"Forget it, Shadow! I won't let you hurt Cosmo!"

"...I'm warning you."

Cosmo cowers behind Tails' seat.

"This is your last chance, Tails. Give up now or face the consequences."

Knuckles and Rouge stare each other down.

"Bat girl! What are you here for?"

"Strain your brain and guess."

"Are you working with Shadow to help him attack Cosmo?"

"Bingo. You're not as dimwitted as you look."

"Why are you doing this?"

"I'm surprised you and your spaced-out crewmates haven't figured that out for yourselves. Not even that cutie Y/N. I wonder where she is now. As for that girl, Cosmo's a real plant... in more ways than one."

"This isn't the time to be sarcastic! Can't you contact him?"

Rouge nods.

"It's not like I can't..."

"Call him now, or I'll knock that smirk off your face!"

"No need to be pushy."

She pulls out her device and contacts Shadow.

"Shadow, come in. It's Rouge."

Shadow bears down on the X-Tornado. His radio is lying on the ground.

"Shadow, do you read me? ... Come in, Shadow. Is something wrong?" Rouge called again. "Shadow, why aren't you answering? ... Shadow! ... Shadow!"

She turns off her radio.

"It's no use. He's not responding."

"I hope Tails and Cosmo are alright..."

"Back off, Shadow, or I'll have to stop you myself!" Tails demanded.

Shadow stops and smirks.

"Do you think you have the power to do that?"

"Yeah? Well, I got the X-Tornado!"

He converts to X-Cyclone and moves forward, but Shadow Chaos Spears the left leg off sending the vehicle falling onto its side, cracking the canopy. Tails speeds Cosmo away from the wreckage with his namesakes as the X-Cyclone propels itself towards Shadow and explodes.

The automatic sprinkler system turns on as Shadow leaves the wreckage. He spots an elevator shaft. Tails and Cosmo were about to head to the shaft when they saw Y/N standing there.

"Y/N!" they exclaimed.

"Go. I'll take care of him."

They were hesitant at first and nod at her as Tails flew Cosmo up the shaft, which is guarded by infrared security lasers. Tails is wearing an infrared scope so he can see the lasers. Y/N turned to Shadow as the sprinkler wets the whole room. Shadow walks over to her as she got ready and took out her katana, powering it up with her crystal. He stop and glare at her.

"Out of my way."

"Not until you explain why you're attacking Cosmo. She did nothing wrong besides helping us so much."

"I don't have time to explain. You'll know once I finish her."

"I won't let you, Shadow." she glared as her body is all wet from the sprinkler as they drip to the floor.

Shadow who's also wet sighed.

"So beat it. Chaos Spear!"

Y/N dodged it and brought her sword down. It cracked through the ground towards him and he jumped out of the way. It hit against the wall, thankfully not fully. He charged her and she charged back and delivered a kick, but he dodged it and tried to punch her. She ducked as they jump back down to the ground. Y/N nearly slipped from wet ground and managed to regain her balance.

Shadow disappeared right before her eyes. Y/N looked around for any sign of him. Suddenly, he appeared right in front of her and before she could do anything, he grabbed both of her wrists. She tried to pull away, but he's too strong as he tightened his grip, causing her to drop her sword as her power stopped glowing. She noticed his face were inches apart and tried to back away from him. But Shadow kept coming closer until her back hit against the wall. She was about to kick him when he brought his body close to her. Shadow stare down into her eyes, making her blush. He held both of her wrists above her head as one of his hand held her chin to make her look at him.

"You give me no choice. But I really wanted to do this."

"Huh?"

Suddenly, he brought his lips against hers. She let out a surprised gasp through the kiss. He released her chin and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. Y/N doesn't know what to do and whenever she tried to move, he kept on holding her close as they now started on the make out session. She closed her eyes, feeling like she's enjoying it and she can't deny about that even if she tried. The kiss was intense and this is her first. Her very first kiss. Shadow smirked in triumph as they kept on kissing until she fainted. Her eyes were filled with dizziness and her face were all blushy and pink. He held her before she collapse.

"You'll thank me later once I destroy Cosmo." he said with a smile, blushing. "You're not a bad kisser."

Shadow carried her in bridal style to the shaft and leapt up, accidentally touching a laser.

"Intruder alert. All stun lasers fire on target."

Even with security lasers firing at Shadow, he is still able to dodge them while making sure Y/N isn't hurt. Cosmo sees Shadow coming.

"Here he comes! And he has Y/N!"

"Don't worry! Trust me!"

There is fear in Cosmo's eyes and determination in Tails'. Shadow destroys the security lasers with Chaos Spears as he rebounds up the walls. Tails glances at Cosmo.

"This way!"

Tails and Cosmo run down the small corridor. Once Shadow made it up, he places Y/N down gently against the wall. He then breaks through the door and spins toward the petrified duo. Suddenly Knuckles shows up and holds Shadow back.

"Knuckles!" Cosmo gasped.

"Get outta here quick!"

Shadow starts to push Knuckles back.

"I've had enough of you, Shadow!"

He uses his brute strength to throw Shadow through the ceiling.

"Go! Now!"

"Be careful, Knuckles." Tails said before running off with Cosmo.

Shadow emerges from the hole.

"Trying to challenge me is a big mistake, and you are going to regret it."

"I've always wanted to shadowbox!"

"As you wish."

He rebounds off the four surfaces of the hall toward Knuckles. He is slammed backward and lands on the floor. Shadow collapses. It is revealed that he removed his limiters. Rouge approaches with Y/N in her arms who's still dizzy from the kiss.

"That echidna gave it his all. He forced you to take off your limiters."

Shadow stands up.

"You're still not giving up?"

He calmly reaches down, picks up his limiters, puts them on, and proceeds down the hall at a walk.

Meanwhile, Tails and Cosmo run through a door.

"Ah! It's a dead end! We have to find another way out!"

Suddenly it explodes behind them.

"Come on!"

They make a right, and are forced to stop at a dead end. There is a control panel there.

"Please hurry! Shadow will catch up with us soon!" Cosmo urged.

"Sooner than you think."

They see Shadow approaching.

"I guess this is it."

Tails stands protective in front of Cosmo.

"Wait a second, Shadow. If you insist on getting rid of me, you should at least tell me the reason why."

"I do have a reason..."

Shadow arrives and stands in front of them.

"...but I won't tell you what it is."

He slowly approaches the two, not knowing that Tails's hand is on a switch.

"There's no point in putting up a fight because you can't beat me."

"You don't have to do this." Cosmo pleaded.

"You won't talk me out of getting rid of you, so don't try!" Shadow snapped.

"Stay back! I won't let you near her!"

He throws the switch, and a door lowers between them. Shadow looks amused.

"Do you seriously believe a door can stop me?"

"Maybe you're not as strong as you think." Tails taunted.

The door closes.

"This will be too easy."

He tries to Chaos Spear the door down, but to no effect. Suddenly he feels an electric current run through him, and he feels the ground under him rising. He rises up into the barrel of the Sonic Driver.

"I'll spin free!"

He spins in a ball as the Sonic Driver is activated.

"Shadow fell right into my trap. Activate Sonic Power Cannon now!!!"

Tails pulls another switch, and the Sonic Driver fires Shadow out into space. Tails pants from the adrenalin.

"We lucked out, Cosmo."

He turns around.

"Shadow started spinning at just the right time. You should be safe now."

Cosmo nods.

"Let's go."

Cosmo takes Tails' hand. Meanwhile, Rouge is tending to Knuckles on the floor of the hall while Y/N is lying down with a pillow behind her head. Rouge wondered what Shadow did to make her so embarrassed and caused her to pass out.

"It's okay. Tails said Shadow went to space." Cream informed over the comlink.

"Way to go, buddy." Knuckles said.

"Where's Shadow?" Rouge asked.

"He's gone now. Tails was able to use the Sonic Power Cannon to send Shadow on a long trip. And you're next..."

Knuckles sits up.

"...unless you tell me what's goin' on!"

"Your foxy friend just make a huge mistake."

Rouge produces the device Leon gave her before he died.

"Cosmo is the real enemy, not Shadow."

She turns to see if Y/N is awake, but was shocked to see her gone.

"Huh? Where's Y/N?"

"You mean she was with you?"

"Yes, but she's gone. Where did she run off to now?"

Tails and Cosmo return to the bridge. They stand at the upper deck together.

"I'm sorry I'm causing you so much trouble." Cosmo apologized.

"You don't have to apologize, Cosmo. Let's start up the Blue Typhoon and leave."

They suddenly heard running footsteps and turned to see it was Y/N who pants a little from all the running. She turns and was relieved to see Cosmo is not hurt.

"Y/N!" Cosmo and Tails exclaimed.

"Cosmo. Tails. You're okay."

Y/N hugs both of them. There is a long pause as they look at each other. Then they head to their posts. Suddenly Shadow Chaos Controls in front of them, white Chaos Emerald in hand. The Emerald falls apart.

"This Emerald is fake." Shadow said in surprise.

"Let's settle this now!"

"Tails, no!" Y/N shouted.

Tails charges toward Shadow, but he punches him aside.

"Tails!" Y/N and Cosmo exclaimed.

Shadow starts toward Cosmo, making Y/N stand in front of him with Cosmo behind her. Tails gets back up and leaps onto Shadow from behind, but the Ultimate Lifeform throws him into the command chair's stairs. He collapses.

"What have I done...?"

Cosmo gasps, and her eyes shrink in fear as Shadow turns back to her. Soon he has her at his mercy.

"Let's get this over with."

"Shadow, please. Let's talk about this." Y/N pleaded.

Just as Shadow is about to deliver the finishing blow, Tails uses the last of his energy to grab on to Shadow's leg.

"Leave her alone... If you don't, you'll be sorry!..."

Shadow smirks, knowing Tails is not able to do anything. He is about to return to his business when a hole is blasted in the giant canopy above them. Glass rains down as a black blur speeds in, destroys Tails' console at his command chair, and speeds back out as various objects are sucked into space. Cosmo and Y/N holds onto the railing for dear life. Y/N's grip slips, but Shadow grabs on to her. Four balls of protective webbing seal the hole, and the suction stops. Shadow and Y/N collapse on the ground as a gigantic ship, Dark Oak's Battleship, pulls up next to the Typhoon.

"Well done, Cosmo, or should I say, White Seed.

Cosmo is shocked.

"You have now completed your mission."

Cosmo has a feeling of fear and dread.

"White Seed... Mission... What mission?... What is he talking about?..."

Then, she remembered those very specific words from Dark Oak.

"From now on, you will report everything to me. Your eyes will be my eyes. Your ears will be my ears. You will be the ultimate spy. Your codename will be White Seed."

Suddenly, Cosmo's amulet begins to glow, causing her to scream out in pain and put her hand on it. The Blue Typhoon, then Dark Oak's Battleship, are bathed in an intensely bright glow. Then they vanish.
