In the Blue Typhoon Bridge, Cosmo is sleeping. Suddenly, she awakens after dreaming of the destruction in the Scarship's wake. She sweatdrops. Cream approaches.

"Cosmo, are you okay?"

"Sorry, Cream. I was dreaming."

"Is it about Shadow?"

"It was."

They turn to the others. Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Chris have their eyes closed, doing nothing, as if in deep thought.

"Sonic and the others have been thinking about him ever since he reappeared." Cream explained. "Even Y/N being taken by Shadow."

"Why is Shadow the Hedgehog so important to you anyway? And why would he take Y/N?" Cosmo asked.

"Well..."

Flashback to Eggman waking Shadow.

"They met him when we were on Chris' planet. You see, when Dr. Eggman had found out that his grandfather had created the ultimate creature..."

Flashback to Shadow fighting Sonic and Y/N. After defeating them, Shadow took Y/N away with him.

"...he broke into a government lab and woke Shadow up from suspended animation. Shadow worked with Dr. Eggman to threaten Chris' planet, and he fought Sonic and Y/N! That's when he took Y/N with him to help him with his mission!"

Flashback to Super Sonic, Super Y/N, and Super Shadow.

"But later, Shadow joined up with Sonic and Y/N and sacrificed himself to save everybody. We all thought he was lost forever."

The flashbacks end.

"But we just saw him, so he must have survived." Cosmo pointed out.

"Yes." Cream agreed.

"It's not possible. There's no way Shadow could have made it through that battle." Tails thought, feeling confused.

Shadow is seen standing on top of the spire, holding the unconscious Y/N.

"I thought I was imagining it at first, but we all saw Shadow! How did he survive?" Chris thought.

"He didn't say anything. Why was he acting so mysterious? There was always something weird about him." Knuckles thought. "But most of all, why did he take Y/N? What does he want with her now?"

"How do we know it isn't a trick? Maybe Eggman's trying to fool us." Amy thought.

Later...

"Why are we wastin' the day asking ourselves questions that we can't possibly answer? Next time he turns up, we'll just ask him what's goin' on!" Sonic said. "And to know why did he take my sister again!"

But Cream and Cosmo just stare at him, while the others continue their deep thought.

"What'd I say?"

Meanwhile in Crimson Egg, Y/N was lying down on the bed resting while Shadow stares at her sleeping form.

"For some reason I know you from somewhere, but when? And where?"

Eggman steps behind Shadow.

"It might be better for Shadow if his past stays forgotten."

Shadow turns to him.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing."

"You're hiding something."

"Are you suggesting that I would try to deceive you? Why, I've never been so insulted in my entire life!"

Eggman makes waving motions.

"Then I won't tell you anything!"

Eggman then walks away. Rouge is leaning against the wall, staring at Shadow and Y/N.

"Dr. Eggman needs to to go back to bad guy school to brush up on his lying techniques."

Rouge notice Y/N is starting to wake up, making Shadow stare at her again. Y/N groaned, sitting up from the bed and jumped in surprise to see Shadow in the flesh.

"Sh-Shadow?"

"How do you know my name?"

"What? Don't you remember me? Anything? What about from Space ARK?"

Shadow started to grow a little frustrated as he tried to remember. He then looked at her.

"No..."

Y/N frowned to hear that.

"Shadow... You have to remember. It's me. Y/N."

"I'm sorry, but I don't remember you."

Y/N clenches her fist, feeling her heart ache. Rouge frowns, feeling bad for her when all of the sudden she sees something glowing on the radar. Before she knows it, the Scarship warps in in front of the Crimson Egg.

"Warp complete. Primary target identified. Launching attack now."

The Scarship starts blasting the Crimson Egg with some of its weaker weapons.

"Who's that attacking us?!" Eggman demanded.

"It's a ship I've never seen before!" Bokkun exclaimed. "It came out of nowhere!"

As the ship stops shaking, Eggman sees the culprit.

"A Meterax!"

The Scarship opens fire again.

"Shields up!"

A shield is projected across the entire ship as the Scarship's lasers impact it. Even so, the ship still shakes. Y/N nearly falls from the sudden shake when Shadow held her up in his arms, causing her to blush.

"Its laser cannons are too powerful!" Decoe exclaimed.

"Our shields will not hold up for long!" Bokkun exclaimed.

"Go get it, Shadow! Destroy that ship and I'll tell you all about your past." Eggman ordered.

As the Scarship continues to bombard the Crimson Egg, Shadow appears at the top of Eggman's ship with Y/N by his side who decided to come and help. Even though he told her to rest, she's too stubborn to listen. They leap toward the Scarship.

"They're launching a counterattack. How pitiful."

Shadow executes a spin, deflecting the Scarship's lasers while Y/N knocked the lasers away from her using her shields from her hands she created into a ball from the power of the crystal.

"Not bad."

Shadow and Y/N impacts the Scarship, but no damage is done and the hedgehogs bounce off.

"But it is useless."

"You think so?"

Shadow nodded at Y/N who nodded back as they together start spinning all across the side of the Scarship, looking for a weak point.

"You cannot harm me!"

Shadow and Y/N continues to bounce all across the Scarship. Y/N brought her katana to slice up anything to help them find a weak point with the help of the crystal as they glowed white. Shadow summons a great amount of power, and slams into the bow of the Scarship, knocking it back. The Scarship's eyes glimmer, and Shadow is revealed to have fainted.

"Shadow!!" Y/N gasped and flew down towards him.

She grabbed him by the hand and brought him back up into her arms as she covered herself and Shadow up in the shield in case for another attack from Scarship. A claw extends out of the Crimson Egg and retrieves Shadow and Y/N in the shield as Y/N let them grab on so it doesn't do damage.

"Your silly games are over."

The Scarship fires a swarm of missiles at the Crimson Egg. One by one, the Crimson Egg's lasers target the missiles. However, no damage is done to the missiles. Both the Crimson Egg and the Scarship give it all they have, the former taking more damage than the latter. Y/N held Shadow close as she did her best to protect Shadow while trying to help hold off the missiles from the Meterax. Rouge leaves the Crimson Egg.

"Time to ship out. Bye!"

Before Y/N knew it, the torpedo completely destroys the Crimson Egg.

"Now I will exterminate the blue hedgehog since his sister is well gone!"

"What?! A Metarex attacked Eggman?" Tails exclaimed.

Rouge is on the video screen.

"He didn't stand a chance. Take a look."

She switches the view to the explosion that destroyed the Crimson Egg. Cosmo panics when she sees the Scarship.

"What's wrong?" Sonic asked, looking at Cosmo in concern.

"I know that ship! That Metarex attacked me and my clan!"

Cosmo weeps at the memory.

"Cosmo, we'll stop that Meterax!" Amy assured.

"Fat chance. That thing was too powerful for even Shadow to defeat." Rouge said over the video. "Not even Y/N stand a chance since she's still a little injured from the last fight and now she's doing her best to protect Shadow and others."

"Y/N!" Knuckles and Tails whispered.

"Whoa. It must be strong..." Chris said quietly.

"...I think we'd better retreat..."

Hands on hips, Amy is surprised at Tails' decision.

"Are you kidding? We can't let him win! Don't you care about Y/N?!"

"I just want to pull back temporarily. I don't think we should take that thing on until we have a chance to analyze it and come up with a plan to blow it away! And I do care about Y/N!"

"I agree. As much I want to find Y/N, we have to think this thing through." Knuckles agreed with Tails.

"That'll be a first!" Amy argued.

"I'm only trying to use my head."

"Then we might as well give up now."

"She's right." Rouge agreed with Amy.

The video ends.

"Shadow... Y/N..." Chris said.

"Don't worry about him. He's a survivor. Am I right?" Sonic assured him. "I'm sure Y/N is fine. She can handle herself. She's a strong girl."

"Let's get going while we have the chance!" Knuckles shouted.

"I say we stay!" Amy shouted back.

"We'd better decide now. There's something big heading this way." Tails said.

A colorful blob appears on the radar, heralding the Scarship's presence.

"It's coming out of warp space."

Sure enough, the Scarship appears.

"I swore I'd destroy it. But... I can't risk their lives." Cosmo thought.

Tails' eyes shimmer at the sight of the Scarship.

"Tails, get us out of here now!"

"But Cosmo, you're the last one here who would want to retreat. That Metarex is responsible for wiping out everybody you cared about. Now's your chance to make that ship pay for the pain and misery it caused you!" Amy said.

"I can't. I want to fight that thing alone, Amy." Cosmo weeped. "I'm willing to risk my life to battle Metarex, but not yours!"

"...Sonner or later, we'll have to face it. And there's no time like the present!" Sonic said.

Cosmo looks up in shock.

"Alright then." Tails said.

"I still think it's a long shot, I'm willing to try. Let's do it!" Knuckles declared.

Chris nods.

"I'm glad you see it my way." Amy said.

"We can win!" Cream said.

"Chaaoo!" Cheese agreed.

Still teary, Cosmo stands up.

"This means so much to me. Thank you all."

Everyone gives thumbs-ups, and Sonic and Amy wink. The Scarship sizes up the Blue Typhoon.

"This battle is already over."

It opens fire.

"Raise all shields!" Tails ordered.

"Right!" Cream nodded.

A shield projected around the entire ship blocks the attacks.

"They're only delaying their destruction."

The Scarship unloads a swarm of missiles.

"There's no turning back now. Ready?" Tails said to the group.

"Okay, let's go!" Amy nodded.

"Just give me the word." Knuckles said.

"Are you ready to go, Chris?"

"All set." Chris nodded to Tails.

"Let's go for it!" Sonic winked.

The Typhoon flies away from the Scarship.

"What are they up to?"

"Expand the shield! Change to cloaking mode!" Chris informed.

The shield is greatly expanded.

"So, they think they can hide."

The Scarship fires into the void where the Typhoon is supposed to be.

"But these seeker missiles will find their target."

The Scarship fires two missiles in the general direction of the Typhoon. They travel just wide of the ship.

"I'll unleash my entire arsenal against them!"

The Scarship fires with everything it has. Chris hates to do what he is about to do, but he ejects various items out of the ship.

"That debris is made to convince me that I destroyed their ship, but I haven't... yet!"

It fires five missiles at the Typhoon. It is hit. Now that the Scarship knows the location of the Typhoon, it fires all its weapons.

"I will destroy that ship. I'll keep firing missiles until it's obliterated!"

Knuckles is revealed to be hiding inside a floating locker.

"All clear."

He, Amy, and Sonic use jetpacks to fly out of the locker.

"That Metarex saw through our trick, but it didn't realize it was a double trick! Let's go junk that Metarex!" Sonic said.

Knuckles and Amy push the space junk into piles.

"Enough of these games! I'll fire all my missiles at once, and wipe them out with one big bang!"

Knuckles and Amy have done their work. The space junk is now clogging the Scarship's weapons.

"Huh? Why can't I fire?!"

The three Mobians stand at the front of the Scarship.

"This Metarex is in a real jam now!" Amy grinned.

"I can blast right through it!"

It glows red.

"Let's get outta here!" Knuckles suggested.

They fly away from The Scarship as it tries to fire its weapons, but the space junk causes them to explode.

"It's a really bad idea to fire your weapons when your missile tubes are clogged up." Amy said.

"Now that you can't fight anymore, your only choice is to surrender!" Knuckles said.

The Scarship bears down on them.

"Never!"

The three Mobians fly out of the way.

"Aah! It's gonna crash into the Blue Typhoon!"

The Scarship flies toward the Typhoon.

"Tails better move it!"

"Engines up!" Tails said.

The Blue Typhoon powers up its engines.

"We don't have enough power to get away in time."

"Routing all power to the engines." Chris said.

The Typhoon backs up, but the Scarship is still faster.

"Oh no! They won't get away fast enough!" Amy gasped.

"The one way to get enough power is to use the Master Emerald at full force, but only I can do that." Knuckles said.

"Look out!" Sonic shouted.

The Scarship, which is far larger than the Typhoon, is about to crash.

"It's no use! We're gonna crash!" Tails said with a sweatdrop.

"It's all over!" Chris said.

Cosmo and Cream are scared for their lives. Suddenly the Scarship is knocked backward. Everybody sees Shadow and Y/N standing on the hull.

"It's Shadow and Y/N!" Chris exclaimed in relief and shock.

Shadow grabbed Y/N's hand, surprising her and they both started spinning toward the Scarship, executing the same tactic he used before - slamming into it all over.

"You should never underestimate that guy." Knuckles said. "And he's working together with Y/N? That's odd..."

"But why wasn't Shadow destroyed with Dr. Eggman?" Amy wondered. "And how did Y/N survive?"

The Crimson Egg descends from above.

"I'm like a bad rash. You can't get rid of me!" Eggman laughed. "Meterax missed me!"

It is revealed that a slot where the Eggman logo is opened up, and the missile flew through and out the other side.

"As usual, I used my brains and showed that missile the door."

He opens and closes the slot for proof. Knuckles waves hand.

"It's lucky for you you don't have to fit your head through there."

"Hey, Sonic was just here! Where did he go?" Amy gasped.

They look down to see Shadow and Y/N running and rocket roller skating on the hull of the Scarship. Sonic joins them.

"Sonic!" Y/N exclaimed in surprise.

"Sup, sis!" Sonic turned to Shadow. "Somethin' tells me we're thinkin' the same thing. If we destroy the engine room, this Metarex'll be out of commission for good!"

"I didn't ask for your help, so stay out of this!" Shadow sneered and said quietly. "I'm fine with Y/N only..."

"I see you haven't lost any of your charm." Sonic said, unfazed.

"Now's not the time to joke around!" Y/N rolled her eyes.

They run inside its engine.

"You certainly are persistent, stranger."

"What do you mean, 'stranger'? Don't you recognize me, Shadow?"

They split up and head down different passages. The Scarship cries out as both its engines are destroyed. The three hedgehogs emerge from the inside of the Scarship, which is now on fire.

"They did it!" Knuckles smiled.

"If you agree to surrender now, we'll agree to help you put out those fires." Amy taunted at Scarship.

"I'll never surrender or give up my mission."

Cosmo looks on in dread.

"What's your mission, anyway?" Amy asked.

"To destroy Sonic, Y/N, and Dr. Eggman no matter what it takes."

It begins pulsating in a light blue glow.

"What's it doing?" Knuckles questioned.

The Scarship begins to explode.

"What do we do?" Sonic asked.

"We need to buy some more time!" Y/N exclaimed.

"She's right." Shadow agreed.

He uses the power of the red Chaos Emerald.

"Chaos Control!"

The Chaos Control burst freezes the Scarship in time

"What'd you do?" Knuckles asked.

"I stopped time from advancing around the ship. We have ninety seconds."

In the Crimson Egg Cockpit

"Alright, now, count down with me!" Eggman said as he and his robots started counting. "88, 87, 86..."

"If you want to disarm it, you better hurry." Shadow warned.

"Right."

Sonic called on comlink.

"Come in, Tails."

"We'll use the Sonic Power Cannon. Come to the ship as fast as you can!" Tails replied to Sonic. "Along with Y/N!"

"That Metarex' armor is strong." Chris said.

"Yeah, I know, Chris, but we can use a warp field to make it weaker."

"Right."

"64, 63, 62..." Eggman and his robots keep counting.

"Warp field driver is all set, Tails."

"Prepare to set down a warp field to surround the Metarex."

"Roger."

A warp drive field is fired out of the cone of the Typhoon. It strikes the Scarship.

"44, 43, 42..."

The Sonic Driver is prepared, and it is charged.

"Route all energy to the power cannon!"

Sonic and Y/N runs inside and lands on the spin platform.

"We have full power!"

"Load cannon!"

"Sonic, Y/N, get set for launch!"

"Ready!"

"Let's go!"

Sonic and Y/N starts their spin.

"Fire the cannon at my command! Targeting Metarex!" Tails ordered.

The targeting computers lock on to the Scarship.

"Sonic Power Cannon, fire!"

The cannon charges with energy. Sonic and Y/N are launched out of the Sonic Driver.

"Five! Four! Three! Two! One! Zero!"

The Scarship is glowing rainbow colors as a result of the Sonic Drive. Sonic and Y/N impacts it with crushing force. At long last, the Metarex Scarship is ultimately destroyed.

"That ship was one of my most powerful Metarex. How did they defeat it?" Dark Oak said, looking on somewhere.

"Thanks for saving us, Sonic and Y/N! You'll regret it!" Eggman laughed.

Rouge returns to the Crimson Egg as it flies away. Shadow stands on the hull of Eggman's craft. Sonic and Y/N watches them go from the outside of their own craft. Shadow glances at Y/N who stare back at him. They stare at each other for a moment before he disappeared. Silence fills the Blue Typhoon Bridge.

"I finally got even with the Metarex that wiped out my clan. I wish I could be at peace now, but there are more Metarex out there, and more planets in danger. I have to keep fighting until the galaxy is safe again!" Cosmo thought to herself in determination.

The Blue Typhoon flies on.
