"What's going on? What's with my clothes? Did I shrink or something?"

As the Master Emerald's glow dies down, Chris looks over the sleeves of his labcoat, which is now too big for him.

"Great to see ya, Chris!" Tails greeted with a smile.

Chris stands up.

"Tails, it's you!"

Cream and Amy also approach.

"We really missed you!"

"It's about time you showed up!"

Amy playfully nudges Chris.

"Hey, Amy!"

"It's good to see ya!" Knuckles greeted.

Everyone except Sonic, Y/N, and Cosmo are excitedly surrounding Chris and all talking at once.

"Hey, one at a time." Chris said.

"Sonic, Y/N, who is that boy?" Cosmo asked.

"He's our friend." Sonic and Y/N replied.

Chris overhears, and is overwhelmed in gratitude that Sonic and Y/N still remembers him.

"Hi, Sonic and Y/N."

"How ya doin', pal?"

Chris carefully approaches Sonic and Y/N, trying not to trip on his giant clothes.

"Sonic, Y/N,  I can't believe I'm really here. It's been a long time coming."

"I knew you'd get here sooner or later, buddy." Sonic said.

"It's great to see you again, Chris."

Y/N approaches Chris and hugs him. Chris happily hugs back, trying not to cry.

"You two haven't changed a bit. Come to think of it..."

Chris looks over at Sonic's and Y/N's friends.

"...none of you have."

"Doesn't look like you changed much, either, 'cept for the baggy clothes. Is that some new style or somethin'?" Sonic asked.

Chris holds up his oversized sleeves.

"No! I-I don't know what's going on!"

Suddenly, Sonic collapses.

"Sonic!"

Chris and Y/N bends over Sonic as the others gathers around them.

"Sonic, what's wrong?" Amy asked in worry.

Cosmo covers her mouth in shock.

"What happened?" Cream asked.

"Say something!" Knuckles said.

"Why isn't he waking up?"

Tails feels Sonic's forehead.

"He's okay. I think he's just exhausted."

"Yeah, I guess he still has to recover from that battle." Knuckles said.

"Sonic got injured in a battle?" Chris questioned.

"Y/N also got injured and she's suppose to rest." Knuckles added, pointing to her.

"Hey!"

Back to Cream's house, Vanilla is putting Sonic in bed with Y/N back on the couch who's pouting.

"You rest now, Sonic."

She turned to Y/N.

"You too, Y/N."

"Yes, Vanilla." Y/N said and closed her eyes, cuddling herself in the blanket.

Chris is in the bathroom, looking over his new body. Later, everyone gathers in the living room, where Cosmo is recalling the events of earlier that day.

"Your friends Sonic and Y/N were fighting against a Meterax."

"A Meterax?" Amy questioned.

"I don't know how many there are, but they've been attacking planets all over the galaxy."

Several flashbacks shown of many Seedrians running from the Metarex, who have destroyed many civilizations.

"Their goal is to unily all the planets under one absolute rule."

"Let me guess... their rule." Knuckles said.

A shot is shown of several Metarex Fighters in space.

"That's right. They've already extinguished so many planets."

"What do you mean, 'extinguished'?"

A shot is shown of a Metarex stealing a Planet Egg.

"The Metarex don't just conquer planets. They take the Planet Eggs." Cosmo explained.

"What?"

"The Planet Eggs are like the hearts of planets."

A shot is shown of many planets dying as a result of having their Planet Eggs stolen.

"Without them, planets lose their power to nurture and sustain life. They become just cold, barren rocks drifting through space."

The flashbacks end.

"And now that they've taken your Planet Egg, your world will soon wither away, just like the others have."

"Our planet will die?" Amy asked.

Cosmo nods.

"That's right."

"Excuse my asking, but how do we know you're not on their side?" Knuckles asked.

"Because I'm not! The Metarex are vicious, and they'll wipe out anything that gets in their way. I am not with them; you have to believe me!" Cosmo exclaimed.

"I wish I could."

"At least let's hear her out." Chris said.

"I came here so that what happened to me might not happen to all of you. My planet is gone. Everyone I loved -- my family, my friends, are..."

Tears prick her eyes, and she buries her face in her hands.

"Everything... everything is gone!"

Later, Chris shuts the door to Sonic's room. He turns to Tails and Amy, who have also left the room.

"She's calmed down a little. I think she'll be okay."

"I can't believe that Knuckles was giving that poor thing such a hard time." Amy said.

"I can't believe you built a teleporting machine in only six months!" Tails added.

Chris looks shocked.

"Only six months?! No wonder you all look exactly as I remember you."

"Chris is acting kinda funny, Amy."

"Don't forget; he's human."

"Back home, it's been six years since I saw you! But I guess I still have a lot to learn about teleportation..."

"If it's been six years, how come you still look the same?" Tails asked.

"I'm just as confused as you are, Tails." Chris shrugged.

"We'll figure it out." Amy giggled.

Amy opens the door to Sonic's room, only to find that the bed is empty.

"Sonic's gone!"

"Oh no!"

Chris runs to the window, followed by Amy and Tails. Amy looks at Sonic's empty bed.

"He must have gone out the window!"

"He doesn't even say goodbye!" Amy whined.

"That's Sonic for ya. No matter what, he just takes off. He can't even stay still when he's passed out." Tails said.

"I'm just glad he's okay."

"Say, where's Y/N?" Tails asked.

In Angel Island, Y/N is with Knuckles who's looking at the Master Emerald.

"Something's not right. I don't trust that Cosmo."

"How can you say that if you don't know if she's good or not? I'm pretty sure she's here for a reason. She does know something about Meterax that we don't."

"Well, wait-- You've been listening to our conversation?"

"I can't help it. I need to know. Plus, I don't sense any evil in her, not even my crystal can sense it."

"So, is it true, Y/N?"

Y/N and Knuckles turns around to see Rouge float down.

"Is what true, Rouge?" Knuckles asked.

"A little birdie told me that all seven Chaos Emeralds are gone."

Y/N chuckles nervously whilst Knuckles glare at her.

"It's true. Sonic and I thought it'd be a good idea to scatter them into space. We have to in order to stop them from trying get their hands on them."

Knuckles turns around, and does not see Rouge fly away.

"And not only that, but Chris teleported here from his world somehow. Things are crazy here! A Metarex attacks, then Cosmo--"

"I hate to interrupt, but Rouge just left." Y/N said.

"Huh?"

He turns and realizes that she's right and Rouge is gone.

"See you around, Cutie and Knuckie!"

"Hey! Rouge! Come back here! You've got a lot of nerve flying off while I'm still talking!"

Rouge is already flying off the island.

"Rouge!!" Y/N and Knuckles shouted.

"Geez... I have a bad feeling she's going to try and find it before we do."

"You got a point."

"I'll see you there. I'm gonna go and check on the others."

Knuckles nodded and Y/N jumped over the stairs and roller skated away.

Outside of Cream's house, while Cream is playing with Cheese, Cosmo is admiring the Mobian sky.

"Such a pretty place..."

"I'm glad you like it! Our planet's great. Maybe you can learn to love it here."

"Chao chao!"

Cosmo beamed.

"Maybe..."

She looks down to herself.

"She doesn't understand."

Tails and Amy can be seen bring tea to Chris and Vanilla as Chris puts on his new shirt.

"Without the planet Egg... her planet cannot survive."

Cosmo then spoke.

"You know, Cream, if we don't get the Planet Egg back..."

"We will."

Cosmo turns to see Cream looking at her.

"We have Sonic and Y/N on our side. They'll make everything okay."

Sonic along with Y/N immediately shows up.

"Well, then I guess we'll go have to find 'em."

Cosmo blinks.

"I wish you had them now."

"Maybe there was something I could have done instead of sending the Chaos Emeralds away. But it seemed like a good idea at the time." Y/N said with a nervous sweatdrop.

"At least he didn't get the Emeralds." Sonic added.

The door opens, and Tails, Amy, and Chris walk outside.

"You two must have been pretty wiped out after fighting that thing."

"We were. But we transformed into Super and I thought it would be a cinch, but boy, was I wrong!"

"That's why you should never be cocky about it..."

"What? I'm just saying!"

"Sonic, Y/N, listen. The Metarex are extremely powerful. They've traveled through space and taken every Egg from every planet they've encountered." Cosmo said.

"There's nothin' to worry about as long as we're on the scene, Cosmo! We'll get all the Planet Eggs back!  I promise!" Sonic said.

"A dangerous quest in outer space! Could anything be more romantic?" Amy said.

"Cheese and I wouldn't miss an adventure like this!" Cream said.

"You can count me in, Sonic and Y/N!" Tails said.

"I want to go too! I've been waiting six years to have another adventure with you!" Chris said.

"Great, then it's settled!  We're going into outer space!"

Y/N points to the sky.

The group is descending the stairs into Tails' workshop.

"Tails, to go into space, won't we need a spaceship?" Chris asked.

Tails presses a button, turning on the overhead lights.

"Ta-daa!"

The light reveal a huge spaceship built by Tails. Sonic gives an impressed whistle.

"Wow!!" Y/N awed.

"It's so big!" Amy and Cream exclaimed.

"It's a multi-purpose fully mobile flying fortress! I call it the Blue Typhoon, and with a few quick adjustments, we can even fly into space! Only..."

"Only what?"

"I was planning on using the Chaos Emeralds as the power source. Now what are we gonna use?"

Chris points to something above him.

"I know what we can use!"

Knuckles is searching for Rouge.

"I knew we shouldn't have told that batty Rouge anything."

He sees a mountain and lake in front of him. This is proof that Angel Island has fallen once again.

"Oh no!"

He turns around to see that the Master Emerald is gone.

"The Master Emerald's gone!!"

Chris is seated in a chair, carefully loading the Master Emerald into position. Tails supervises from the cockpit of the Blue Typhoon.

"The readings look good, Chris." Tails said.

"The Master Emerald oughta give us enough power to go interstellar!"

"Are you sure that's a good idea? We could have asked Knuckles, and he's sure gonna be mad..." Y/N said, looking nervous.

"Hey!"

Y/N cringed as she had stand correctly. The group turns to see an angry Knuckles run in.

"What's the idea?!"

"Knuckles let us explain..." Y/N started.

"We're gonna borrow your Master Emerald for a little while." Sonic said.

"No way! It goes back where it was!" Knuckles shouted.

"But we need it to go into outer space." Amy argued.

"Outer space?"

"We have to find the seven Chaos Emeralds so we have enough power to defeat Metarex." Cosmo explained.

"We're going to travel across the galaxy, battle Metarex, and save planets! Doesn't it sound like the best adventure ever?" Cream said.

"It sounds just peachy."

Knuckles turns to Sonic and shouted.

"Now gimme back that Emerald, Sonic, or I'll come up there and take it!"

Cream shakes in fury - something she rarely does.

"Listen you! You should be ashamed!"

"Cream..." Y/N said in surprise.

"The fate of the entire galaxy is at stake!" Cosmo said.

Knuckles cowers back as Amy approaches him, hammer drawn.

"But if you won't listen to reason... maybe I could knock some reason into you. It'd be a pleasure."

Her eye twinkles dangerously.

"H-Hey, let's calm down..."

Amy inches forward again. Then the three girls begin aggravating the poor echidna.

"Sonic, please help me!"

"I'd like to, but I don't get involved in fights I can't win. You're on your own." Sonic winked.

"Sonic!" Y/N glared and marched forward. "Girls, that's enough. Scaring him won't convince him to let us borrow the Master Emerald like that."

"But...!"

"No buts! Understand? Let me talk to him."

Amy sighed as Cosmo and Cream nodded.

"Okay..."

Y/N turned to Knuckles who looked relieved to be rescued by her.

"Knuckles, I know you want to protect the Master Emerald as well as the Angel Island. Trust me, I do. But we really need that if we're going to save the universe that are in danger. It's either life or death? 'Cause if we don't stop the Meterax, they'll destroy everything until there's nothing but complete dust. They might even take away your Master Emerald for more power. Do you want that to happen?"

Knuckles stares at her as he's processing all the words she had said. Sonic and the others looks on in surprise that Y/N had what it takes to convince someone. He then sighed in defeat.

"You're right... I guess I'll let you guys borrow it for while, but not too long."

Y/N beamed.

"Really? So you're coming with us?"

"Yeah, I guess..."

She hugged him, surprising him.

"I knew I can count on you!"

"H-Hey, let's not get mushy here!" he blushed.

Sonic looks on with a glare as Tails looks on with jealousy, pouting. A montage begins of the group working on the Typhoon. Chris, Tails, and Amy inspect the engine. Then, Tails shows the Typhoon's blueprints to Sonic and Y/N.

"...See, if I take these wires, and attach them to the transformer which connects the Master Emerald..."

Sonic and Y/N nods.  Knuckles is seen carrying many supplies. Sonic runs by with an equal amount of parts while Y/N goes to help out Amy, Cream, Cheese, and Cosmo.

Tails and Chris are looking over the controls.

"Chris, I'm sorry our planet got invaded right when you came to visit us."

"Are you kidding? Don't be! I haven't been this excited in years. And now that I'm older, I can finally be of some use to you guys!"

Chris types on a keyboard.

"So is the initial takeoff sequence ready? Prepare to activate the Master Emerald!"

"This reminds me of our times back in Station Square." Tails beamed.

"We should load this ship with lots of cool gadgets. That way, when I tell Grandpa about it, he'll get really jealous!"

"Sounds good to me!"

The work on the Blue Typhoon has not gone unnoticed. Dark Oak broadcasts a message to a new Metarex, called Metarex Spike, who is approaching Mobius.

"Do not let them leave the planet. Stop the development of the spacecraft and destroy them."

Metarex Spike enters the atmosphere.

In Green Hill, Y/N, Amy, Cream, and Cheese are carefully bringing food supplies toward the Typhoon.

"This should be the last of the supplies we have to haul from home. Of course, now we have to load everything onto the ship." Amy said.

"I can hardly believe it. Pretty soon we'll be taking off and speeding through--"

They turn to see Cosmo sitting alone on a tree stump.

"Hi, Cosmo."

Cosmo looks up as Cream places her bags down.

"Would you mind carrying these downhill, please?"

Cosmo looks startled, but stands up anyway.

"Oh, okay."

She struggles to pick up the bags.

"Are you sure you can handle it?" Y/N asked, looking concerned.

"I got it."

Cosmo hurriedly picks up the supplies, but find them too heavy. Their weight causes her to stumble. Y/N hurriedly grabs Cosmo by the waist while grabbing the bags that are about to fall, saving the food from spilling.

"I think you should leave this to us. But you can still help out."

Cosmo blushes and nods. Y/N releases her and handed her two bags that are less heavy much to her relief. The sun is blotted out for the briefest moment. Knowing what is happening, Cosmo's lips quiver in absolute fright. An object flies over them, and an explosion can be seen in the distance.

"A Metarex..."

Metarex Spike picks itself up, having survived the rough landing. Y/N glared and took out her giant fist whip.

"-=- following directive number one -=-

-=- destroy the enemy spacecraft -=-"

Spike attempts to blast Tails' workshop with its hands, but misses.

"-=- adjust firing error -=-

-=- 296 tangent 8 -=-"

Spike tilts its hands slightly to the right, and is about to fire again, but Sonic buzzes right past it and bounces off of its head, distracting it. Y/N jumps in and punches Spike in the face with the giant fist whip, pushing it back. Knuckles leaps into the fray and tackles Spike into the ground. Even though Spike is embedded in the ground, it is not defenseless. A golden sword materializes in its exposed hand, and Spike uses it to slice a nearby tree.

"I don't think we're gonna stop that thing this way!" Knuckles said.

"You're right, but we gotta try!" Sonic said.

Metarex Spike stands up and points its sword at the three Mobians.

"-=- it is futile for you to oppose us -=-

-=- you are never going to leave this planet alive -=-"

Sonic dodges Metarex Spike's hand as it pounds the ground, then slices a tree in half.

"Hey! Up here!"

Spike stands up in front of Sonic and charges its finger lasers, but Knuckles and Y/N punches it to the ground again from behind. They leapt up to the tree where Sonic is.

"Huh? Hey, I think I finally stopped him."

Suddenly metal objects protrude from the fifteen holes in its chest.

"Don't think so!" Y/N exclaimed.

The metal objects are spike missiles that are launched at Sonic, Y/N, and Knuckles. The three heroes leap atop the missiles, directing them away from themselves. Sonic and Y/N looks back in horror that the missiles are headed straight toward the Blue Typhoon.

Sonic and Y/N immediately blazes through the missiles, saving Tails.

"It stinks to get blasted out of the sky before we left the ground!"

"No kidding!"

One of the stray missiles explodes behind them. They look up to see Metarex Spike approaching. It fires its finger lasers and razes the forest near the Typhoon. Fortunately, Knuckles is there to run circles around Spike, causing it to fall into a sinkhole.

"Happy landing, pal!"

"Knuckles!"

Knuckles looks up to see Cream flying at a distance.

"Tails needs you on the ship! He plans to beat the Metarex!"

"I just did!"

Suddenly Spike starts to stand up. It takes a swipe at Knuckles, who dodges. Sonic and Y/N stomps it back into the hole, but it stands up again.

"Go on, Knuckles."

"We got this!"

In the Blue Typhoon Bridge, Tails looks at the holo-monitor, then presses two buttons.

"The main engine's ready."

He presses another button.

"Connecting to the Master Emerald! You copy?"

In the control room, one of the reading on the dash in front of Chris rises.

"Main engine now connected to the Master Emerald."

The engines begin to warm up.

In the engine room, Knuckles stands before the Master Emerald as it glows brightly.

"The seven Chaos Emeralds are the servers. Our hearts intensify their power. The controller serves to unify the chaos!"

Knuckles extends his hands higher.

"We need your great power to find the Chaos Emerald!"

"Ignition!" Chris said.

The engine roars to life, and the turbines spin.

"Okay, the engine's fired up!"

In Cream's house, Vanilla is knitting. Cream opens the door.

"Mother?"

Vanilla looks up as Cream approaches.

"Mother, would it be all right if I go out into space with everybody?"

"You mean on that nice spaceship that Tails built? Sure, sweetie. Just don't touch any buttons."

"Thanks, Mother!"

They hug.

"Cream..."

"Goodbye, Mother... Goodbye."

Sonic and Y/N lands several hits on Metarex Spike, but the giant Metarex warrior lands unscathed in front of them.

"Hurry it up, guys..."

Sonic turns to see that it was Tails' voice coming from behind them in the Typhoon.

"Huh?"

The ground rumbles as the Typhoon prepares to launch.

"The acceleration thruster's almost charged!" Tails said.

Several meters increase.

"Takeoff time."

The ground collapses as the Blue Typhoon begins to rise.

"-=- you are doomed -=-"

Spike fires fifteen more missiles from its chest.

"Great."

Both Sonic and Y/N together spins after the missiles, destroys them all, and lands on the hull of the craft before Sonic smugly rubbing under his nose. Y/N rolled her eyes at that.

"It's been fun, but we have to be runnin' along now!"

Back to engine room

"Master Emerald, we need you! Release the power of Chaos to us!" Knuckles said.

Back to control room

"We're almost there. 80... 90... 95... The chamber's evergy supply is at full capacity." Chris said.

Sonic and Y/N watches as Meterax Spike flies toward them.

"Sonic, Y/N, we're gonna use the main cannon! Stand by!" Tails said.

The ship's runway folds back, and a giant cannon emerges. The ship's energy is diverted to the cannon, called the Sonic Driver.

"Tranferring power from the energy chamber to the main cannon! Cannon pressurization sequence now in progress."

Sonic and Y/N runs inside the cannon.

"Here goes!"

They begin spinning, thus charging the cannon. Spike lands in front of the Typhoon. It is within range.

"Target Metarex dead ahead!"

The targeting computer locks on to Metarex Spike just as it launches fifteen more missiles.

"Sonic Power Cannon, fire!"

The Sonic Driver charges a massive amount of energy, then launches Sonic and Y/N as the balls toward Spike. They decimates the missiles, then spins through Spike, leaving a burning hole in its chest. Metarex Spike explodes, finally defeated. Sonic and Y/N continues to helplessly spin as the Blue Typhoon takes off.

"Hang on, Sonic and Y/N."

Chris flies toward Sonic and Y/N in a support craft as the hedgehogs continues to fall. Sonic and Y/N opens their eyes.

"Hi, Chris!"

Chris opens his canopy and prepares to catch Sonic and Y/N.

"I got yaaaa!"

Chris manages to take Sonic's and Y/N's hand, and flies back to the Typhoon.

"Mission accomplished!"

"An excellent catch, guys! Now get ready!" Tails said.

The Sonic Driver is stored back inside the ship, and the ship's power is transferred back to main engine. Additionally, two extra wings are projected.

"Retracting main cannon! Rerouting energy to the main engine! Forward wings deployed! All right, Blue Typhoon... here we go."

The Blue Typhoon activates its main engine, and it takes off, headed for space. Chris' spaceship flies alongside it. Amy appears on the bridge, and Sonic smiles at her. Cream and Cosmo are next. The former looks down.

"Hey."

"What a beautiful view! I've always wanted to know what our planet looks like from this high up." Cream said.

Sonic looks up at Amy and scratches the back of his head, until he realizes there is something in his quills. He takes the object out and holds it up.

"I wonder what this is?"

"You wonder what is, bro?" Y/N asked.

"This thing on my head."

What they didn't know is the Crimson Egg is flying after the Blue Typhoon along with Rouge who's flying after the Crimson Egg, which in turns is flying out into open space.
